Very comfortable retreat from city”
Although far away from the central tourist activities in Beijing, the Ascott is a lovely place to stay — more like a spa than a hotel. The staff is lovely and speaks more English than one often finds in Beijing. The breakfast each morning was quite extensive, offering both Chinese and Western dishes as well as omelettes on demand. And the room was beautiful — spacious and luxurious. Travelers should know that the nearest subway stop is a ~20 - ~25 minute walk from the property. They should also know that Google Maps doesn't seem to map the correct location for the property.

The hotel is big, and surround by plenty of restaurant, convenience store, fruit stall, and bakery shop. We will come again if we visit beijing. The Air Conditioning are perfect. Breakfast is good enough if u looking for healthy breakfast. Inside the room, lobby and shower room are perfect clean. The only thing i dont like is the attidue of the staff. Some of them are really nice but some of them treat us like we are going to steal something from there lol

Special thanks to Reception Officer- Ms Holiday Mai. She has been extremely helpful. Housekeeping Staff were efficient, friendly as well. Absolutely loved the furnishings of the suite. Although this apartment is relatively further away from major tourist attractions, I have no qualms about staying here again, for the comfort. Average 35-40mins commuting time required to reach tiananmen area. There are many quaint little eateries, 2 supermarkets along the neighbouring streets including a Macdonald's outlet, so no complaints either. I did not cook as food delivery service is so conveniently accessible in China and spoilt for choice for the food outlets as well. It definitely helps that I can do my own laundry anytime within the day, so that I don't have to deal with piles of forty laundry when I fly home.

Got there early and was able to do an early check-in (especially with an elderly with us, that made it a lot more convenient for us). Staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean and new. My family was happy and loved the 2 bedroom apartment we had. The daily housekeeping kept the rooms cleaned and the washing machine to the dryer, fridge, microwave, etc were the all clean and new. Daily breakfast spread was okay. We ordered food to be delivered and had no Wechat payment. The hotel lobby staff was helpful and kind. We paid him cash instead and he helped us to make the payment of our food delivery. The only downside to it is the location. Quite a distance to the main city and other attractions. Overall, highly recommended!

Theres a guy waiting before you get to the concierge to scan your health codes. Before I even had a chance he tried to deny me entry based on the fact that I was foreigner. I got in eventually just showing my health kit but it was a very rude start to the trip
