Great value, views, friendly staff”
Hotel Jen is located just a few kms from Central. It is not on the MTR line but we found there were trams and buses arriving every few minutes within a block of the hotel. I love the trams because you can watch Hong Kong cruise by from up top while you rattle slowly along. The hotel has a shuttle bus that loops around the main Island destinations every hour and the drivers are helpful advising where to alight and which way to go to for ferries, buses or shopping. Best of all, the A10 City Flyer express bus from the airport stops across the street from the hotel (stop 6) and takes just 30 minutes for less than $US7. Buses leave every 30 minutes. The rooms are small but then this is Hong Kong where that seems to be the norm. But they are modern and spotlessly clean. The hotel is a little quirky but everything is well thought out and it all just works perfectly. We got a Jen harbourview room which costs more but is in the upper floors with a fantastic view over the harbour, and comes with a full breakfast and you also get a minibar allowance of $HK100 a day - enough for a couple of beers - well worth the upgrade. Agoda always seems to have special offers for this hotel making it affordable. The breakfast is excellent if you go to the second floor for the full breakfast. There is also continental breakfast on the 28th floor with a great view. But if you have a Jen Harbourview Room, you already have that view from your room so we went for the full breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful without exception, like they loved working there. We were rapt with the place; so much nicer than others I have stayed in in Hong Kong and I will always stay here in the future.

Hotel has amenities nearby ”
the traders lounge on 28/f has a good harbour view of the victoria harbour. we enjoyed the afternoon tea served during 5:30-7:30pm and complimentary beverages till 11pm. it is worth paying for the upgrade which also includes free breakfast for 2 adults. hotel is located at sai wan along queens road west. there is a tram nearby hotel which brings you on a scenic tour of the hong kong island and also to the nearest mtr sheung wan station, a few tram stations away from the hotel. recommended to go on a hong kong tram ride if you haven't. day and night views aboard the hong kong tram give you different insights of the busy, face paced life in hong kong. there is a pacific mall, clinic, "one congee" restaurant which serves good congee and noodles, 2 supermarkets within 1-2 mins walk from the hotel. ask the concierge for directions to the tram station and nearby amenities mentioned. room is a good size by hong kong's standard. it could accommodate a queen bed and an additional rollaway bed. overall, we enjoyed our 2 nights' stay at the traders club harbour view room, especially the club lounge benefits.

An unbeatable bargain”
Superb staff from housekeeping to restaurant to reception. The professionalism and congeniality of the staff is what one would expect of a 5-star hotel. Hotel decor from room to public area is chic and pleasant. Location is ideal because it is on Hong Kong island yet away from the crowd that can be inhibiting during X'mas/New Year holiday season. Transportation is quite convenient. The tram just a block a way takes one to all connecting points: MTR stations, central and ferry etc. The Happy Hour at the Sky Lounge is a great idea to relax before dinner. Free wireless included in some of the packages is well worth the extra. Breakfast at the Sky Lounge is relaxing though the selection at Cafe Jen is much better. Great view from the harbor room is an added bonus. The gym is small but adequate. It is well used by the hotel guests. I would say that Hotel Jen exceeded my expectation in every aspect of my stay. The only reason that Hotel Jen charges such a reasonable rate is because of its location away from the tourist traps.

Hotel Jen Hong Kong”
We stayed at the Hotel Jen for 3 nights in March 2010 after booking a standard room. Requested an upgrade to a Jen room, which was provided when we checked in. Had a fantastic view of the harbour and Stonecutters Island. Breakfast and evening cocktails which were included in the upgrade were taken in the Jen Lounge on the 28th floor this gave magnificent views of the harbour in a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Although the hotel is located in the Western area transport links to Central etc were easy to access and readily available, we waited no more than 5 minutes for a taxi and if you want to experience more of Hong Kong culture Whitty Street tram stop is a few minutes walk away. There are several local restaraunts nearby who all seem to have menus in English if you ask. Overall the hotel Jen was excellent value for money and will be our first choice when we return for the rugby next year

A great place to stay in Hong Kong”
I stayed at Jen Hotel for five nights at the beginning of September and can only recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Hong Kong for either business or leisure. This is a great place indeed. I arrived slightly early and whilst i waited for my room i was offered a coffee by a very attentive member of staff. This really set the tone for the remainder of my stay. The staff - without exception - are friendly and very attentive without being intrusive. The overall feel of the place is modern and welcoming. The rooms are exactly to my taste with clean modern lines and a minimalist feel but also very comfortable and fantastic views over Victoria Harbor (at least some of them). The rooftop pool and gym (a bit small) are just the icing on the cake. A free shuttle bus service will take you the the key transport links in the city centre or you can take the frequent and enjoyable tram service for just 2HGK a ride. The area around the hotel is lively with a very Chinese and good neighborhood feel to it. This is very good value for money and a great place to stay in Hong Kong.

Wat a delightful hotel”
because of the hong kong 7s rugby and a big medical conference being held in hk at the same time, our first three choices for hotel accommodation were booked out. so it was that we ended up at traders hotel, located somewhat in the boon docks in kennedy town. i'm now so happy that the other three hotels that were our original preferences were booked out. our week at the traders hotel could not have been more delightful. the young staff are brilliant, willing to do anything helpful at any time of the day or night and always spot on with their recommendations. everyone from the bell hop, to our room maid, to the restaurant staff, the reception team and most of all, the lovely staff in executive lounge made our 7 night stay one to remember. ivy, in particular in the executive lounge went out of her way to make us feel at home and no request was too much for her. on that matter, we strongly recommend the executive room package, which comes with breakfasts, generous drinks in the evenings for a couple of hours, along with a choice of hor d'ouvres. kennedy town itself is where the working class people of hong kong live, work, play and dine. it is not ritzy or glitzy, but it is cheap, cheerful, interesting and far from the madding crowds of tourists that haunt central, wan chai and tst. traders hotel is now our hotel of choice for our future visitations to hong kong. we give this hotel our strongest recommendation to other travellers looking for value for money, a first class staff and an interesting location.

Jen Hotel, Hong Kong July 2009”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Jen Hotel, Hong Kong. I paid a small additional charge for a harbour view and being 26 floors up had a great view over Hong Kong. Being so high up also meant the room was very quiet and I would recommend asking for a higher floor as Jen Hotel is on an extremely busy road in Hong Kong. The hotel has a good sized rooftop pool which was relatively quiet all the time. My only criticism would be that while the rest of the hotel was renovated a year ago the pool area seems to have been excluded from this and could do with a little restyling. Overall this is an excellent hotel with a good level of service, wonderful rooms and good facilities. Just not sure about the buffet lunch and breakfast choices. I will definitely recommend Jen Hotel to friends and will stay again on a return to Hong Kong.

Great hotel in Hong Kong”
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every level. The staff was attentive and willing to help us with our every needs, from writing in little directions cards instructions in chinese for the cab drivers to provide you with maps and advice. The personnel at the bar in the 28th floor was incredibly cordial and the service was fantastic. The buffet there was very good with fruits, toast, cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, great teas, coffee and natural juices. Happy Hour from 6 to 8PM was amazing. If you would have our kind of room, you also have access to this "event" for free every day. Drinks and great finger food for free. The hotel is very nice, nicely decorated and furnished, impressive marble floors and very clean public restrooms. If you don't want to eat at the hotel buffet (which by the way is great!!) you have McDonalds just in the corner, KFC just less than 100 mts away, Pizza Hut 3 blocks away (by the way this Pizza Hut is a full restaurant with full menu, not just a take out pizza place. Very nice and reasonably priced) and of course the local restaurants. In the same block you have at least 3 restaurants in which you can eat duck, noodles, vegetables and soup for less than € 2. I have to say that having to take 1 train and a taxi to get to the hotel seems to much but in reality is nothing. The taxis are in the very exit of the MTR and the cost is close to nothing, plus has the added convenience you don't have to walk from the MTR to the hotel since the cab would take you to its doorsteps. In all my stays in Hong Kong I never stayed in a hotel with so many features for so little money. Hats off to Jen Hotel !

A Reasonably Priced Hotel in the Western District”
We needed a hotel close to Kennedy Town, and the Hotel Jen fitted the bill perfectly. We booked a Club Room on the 22nd floor with harbour view. The room was of average size, but contained all the necessary conveniences, with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed the great views of activity in the harbour. I would have preferred a separate bathroom, rather than the bathroom being integral to the room, with the wash basin being immediately on the left as you entered. It seemed an unusual arrangement. Access to the top floor Clubroom, with breakfast and complimentary evening cocktails was included. There was a fair choice of reasonably tasty options for breakfast. For other breakfast options, 7-11 and McDonalds are a few steps away. Trams and buses are close by, as are a couple of shopping centres. Housekeeping is of a particularly high standard. There is a free hotel courtesy bus to Central, which we did not use, but which is extremely convenient nonetheless. I would definitely book this hotel on future visits to Hong Kong Island.

4 nights in Hong Kong”
Stayed at Hotel Jen for 4 nights. The staff was very help full and forthcoming. They have a free transfer bus going from several places, check the schedule to be sure. The bus also goes by the common arrival locations like Airport Express etc The tram is only 75m walk from the hotel. Taxi from Airport Express is about 45HKD. I suggest to get a Octopus card when traveling around, just load it with some money and its easy used for MTR, Tram or even KFC if you need to something to eat. If you stay in a "Jen" room you have access to free lounge on the 28th floor with some good free treats. Good hotel pool and fitness room on the roof is a really good relaxing choose if you want to forget the city buzz for a while. If I go to Hong Kong again I will stay at Hotel Jen.

My stay at Hotel Jen”
I know Hong Kong well but never stayed at this end of the island. I read the previous write ups and felt good about booking into Hotel Jen. It was with great satisfaction that I was pleased with my new choice of hotel accommodation. The location was no problem, the $2 tram ride to Central and Wanchai only 1 minute walk from Hotel. Nice room and added extras like $100 HKD minibar allowance per day, free happy hour drinks and snacks, free internet...this all unexpected with the superior room I had booked. Nice friendly staff. I will definitely use Hotel Jen again.

good value”
The Hotel JEN was a great place for a first time visitor to Hong Kong. The area is mixed residential and small shops away from the busy Central area. The area was safe for walking, we used cabs, buses, hotel shuttle and trains to get around the islands, very easy. Relaxing in the comfortable 28th floor 'view' lounge every evening with cocktails and starting the day with good coffee was a hit with me; breakfast available in lounge or in the restaurant which is open for B/L/D, room service overnight menu available. The staff is friendly and helpful, they provided us with transportation and sightseeing info. and exchanged our US$ for HKG$ at the front desk. Maintenance issue (slow shower drain) was addressed immediately. We also used the laundry service, prompt return and even the curry stains were gone from a white blouse. The purpose of our trip was to attend a family wedding, everyone in our group (17 people ages 24 to 93) enjoyed this hotel.

Fitting of Shangri-la's Five Star reputation”
Though quaint, the modern-styled guest rooms are very clean and comfortable. The amenities in the room are complete, while the hotel staff are by far one of the most courteous and initiative team I've ever encountered! The location is rather far out in Western Hong Kong, but nevertheless, the transportation system in Hong Kong is undoubtedly convenient. There is no train station (MTR) nearby but tram stops are right by the street corner. Taxis are also fast and relatively cheaper than most countries. The famous pubs in Lan Kwai Fong is only a few minutes away as well! By taxi: To Kowloon (15mins) -- ~HKD80 (Inclusive of over-the-ocean toll fare of ~HKD45) To Central (CBD) (10 mins) -- ~HKD60 To Airport (30 mins) -- ~HKD350 In addition, there are also free hourly shuttles to Sheung Huan (CBD) and shuttle to the airport (HKD150/ person).

Great Value”
Stayed in a "Harbourview Jen" room. Very modern room with a good view of the harbour. The staff are friendly and speak good english. The hotel is located on the west of Hong Kong Island, past the end of MTR. There is a free shuttle bus to major locations, but it doesn't run very often. The MTR is currently being extended, there is a station under construction just behind the hotel. When this is finished (sometime before 2014), the location will be GREAT! The hotel is in a nice area with plenty of small shops and restaurants. Overall highly recommended.

Very nice hotel in a relatively quiet position”
Traders Hotel is West of Central but only 100 metres from a tram stop. There is also an hourly hotel shuttle bus to the MTR, Macau ferry etc. which we made full use of. The hotel is excellent value for money. We were surprised but delighted to find that 'senior citizens' got half-price deals in the very good restaurant and there were complementary glasses of wine with meals and 'buy one drink get one free' deals in the bars. There was also free internet access in the hotel lobby. Our room was compact but well-designed and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. The swimming pool was a pleasant relief from the hot Hong Kong temperatures.

Hotel Jen is well worth it”
We had a great stay at Hotel Jen. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Staff was friendly and highly efficient. The hotel is located on the west side of Hong Kong island and as long as you do not object to not being right in the middle of the action, the location itself also comes highly recommended as it's a fun area with lots of shops and little eateries.

Excellent Value for Money”
for hong kong, land of exorbitantly-priced hotels of varying quality, the traders hotel was excellent for the price, the cleanliness, and the professionalism of the staff. this can be both a good business and tourist hotel. the one catch is the location, which is very central in my opinion and very convenient. but for those unfamiliar with hong kong, the traders it not near a subway station and will require a bus trip or a taxi to get to/from. if you are a frequent visitor to hong kong, however, i'd highly recommend the traders. the area is full of food, shops, and easy access to amenities.

One day in Hong Kong”
The location of the hotel is very good , being on Hong-Kong island , not too far from Central station. You can therefore benefit from the night life of Hong-Kong and at the same time be quite close to Central station from where you can easily catch the express train to go to the airport in less than 45 minutes !! Diner was for me a good experience, with a fantastic view from the top floor, where I did also my check-in. It was quiet with only a few guests, food and wine were good as well. Overall a nice experience. Looking forward to my next stay in Hong-Kong.

we were a little anxious before we arrived at the hotel given that we unable to view the exterior in the details or have exact details of the room we booked. Both of these worries proved to be completely unfounded.we found the hotel to be in a very intresting part of hong kong with very easy access to trams and buses the hotel also offers a very reliable courtesy bus every day. the hotel staff were friendly and helpful the room very clean and ours had a good view all in all it helped to turn our trip to hong kong into a happy memorable one we shall certainly use the hotel Jen again and if thats the standard we can look forward too we look forward to booking through agoda again in the future.

Excellent all round”
This facility is very well located in a fascinating neighborhood in Hong Kong West, but easily accessible to all parts of Hong Kong. The rooms are excellent--comfortable, with good (free) WiFi, user friendly design, very clean, good and friendly staff etc.etc. The outdoor pool is functional but a bit cool for comfortable use in the early spring. The shuttle service took one to Central and other drop off points in Hong Kong which is good since figuring out the bus system in a bother.
