It was very relaxing because it was on the River ”
This was a great guest house the staff were friendly particularly one Thai lady who was exceptionally friendly. The lounge on the river is great. It is a unique for a guesthouse in Bangkok to have that it was as good a view as at an expensive hotel. The setting of lounge is rustic and totally comfortable. The setting of the guesthouse is peaceful surrounded in a garden setting. The room had nice rustic decor clean. I had share bathroom it was convenient. It is a nice setup for a guesthouse. It will be my first choice for a guesthouse in Bangkok

this is a little gem in the centre of bangkok. nestled next to the chao praya river, the phiman exudes an easy charisma and warmth. jane, the owner, is pleasant, helpful, friendly and kind. the bungalows and rooms are basic but clean and functional and the family keep the establishment ticking over very nicely highly recommended.

Great place for the budget traveller!”
Great place to stay if you are on a budget and not fussed about luxuries i.e the bed is a hard mattress but it didn't bother us! The decor is quirky, thai boho style in the communal area. Rooms are basic and clean. Hammocks to relax in and watch the river boats pass by. Lots of reading and travel material left behind from other travellers. Jane and the the family are really lovely and helpful. She speaks great english. The also cooked us a BBQ dinner on the last night which we paid a small price for. Easy place to find. The taxi driver took us straight to the street and then asked a couple of locals who pointed us in the right direction (they are happy to help). Basically you have to get out of the car and walk to get there as it is not accessible direct by car. There are signs that direct you along the wooden pathways to Phiman River View Guesthouse.... just follow them for a very small walk and you will find it (approx 1 min from the road). It's a good place to meet other travellers and the communal sitting area encourages this.

Charming guesthouse in local area”
I stayed in this guesthouse for six days, longer than I planned, because it was just so hard to leave! The place has a great spirit. The boss is a nice girl, who takes good care of her guests, takes them to trips around Bangkok and is always willing to talk and give advice. Oh, and not to forget, she's always in a good mood! It's the best choice when you're travelling by yourself because you get to know people - it's a very sociable place, everyone eats together and enjoys evenings in pleasent discussions about everythig. The rooms are okay, the toilets and showers as well. Not a luxury, but it's clean. The place has a great view on the river, with the bridge of Rama VIII just on the right side of it, with a nice terrace where you can sit and enjoy. I really recommend this guesthouse to those who are looking for special places to stay, this one is one of them. It's ten minutes walking from Khaosan Road, so you can always join the touristic places, but keeps the local spirit and is in a calm quarter. I can't wait to go back there in the end of my trip!

Nice, quiet, on the river. Great staff”
I had a very nice stay here. Walking distance to KSR, so you have a quiet place to return to. The manager of Phiman is a jewel; very helpful, and loves to cook with her guests. She also arranges tours. Nice view of the bridge over the Chao Prays river on which thus guesthouse sits.

a very recommended guest house”
i booked up for 2 nights and stayed for a week. if i will come back to bankok i will shore come to this guesthouse again. simple room with a fan - enoff for my neads. the women who runs the place is very welcomed and friendly and very helpfull too. there is a buietiyfull view to the river and a nice space all the guest can just sit all together. a good thai meal is served every evening. i highly recommend it espicially to people who travel alone - it's a good place for a start, to know other travelers. the other guest were very friendly too, from all over the world, very internationalty. thankyou Jean (Tahayap) for a the lovely welcome and goog time i had in your guest house

cozy no-frills riverside guest house”
This is my second visit and will most likely return for more. The Phiman Riverside guest house has a certain charm that's difficult to describe. Once negative note that should be pointed out is the Restaurant bar next door blasts out live music until about midnight, so if you are a early to bed light sleeper perhaps the Phiman guest house is not the place for you.

Great people, fun atmosphere.”
I returned to Phiman for a second time because of it's wonderful atmosphere and great people. The facilities aren't the best - no a/c, hard beds, etc... but if you can put up with that, this is a great place to stay and hang out with people from all over the world. Nearly every night there is a home-cooked dinner from one of the guests or the owner, and many of the guests will congregate on the deck to eat together, talk, play cards, etc...

Good place and the owner is super nice. Nearby the river, the view is spectacular and it feels like being in the nature when it's Bangkok. However, the main inconvenient is the tremendous amount of mosquitoes. So you should get good repellent. Otherwise, very cheap place in a typical neighborhood at 20 minutes from khaosan

Value for money”
We stayed only one night here for the great price and it was with it! It is very hard to find, tucked away down some winding back alleys - google maps and locals helped a lot but perhaps the hotel should make it a bit more obvious. Check in was easy and the staff were lovely, our double room was actually a 4 bed room - we had plenty of space and it was clean enough (not sparkling!) and had two fans which were enough for the August heat. The best thing here is the riverside location, the only traffic you hear is the boats passing on the river. There's a fantastic view of Rama VIII bridge and a little garden too. Ha we stayed longer I am sure we would have met other trvellers too - the place seemed lively!

The guesthouse is just great!!!! Located on the river close to all the main attractions and to the ferry to go to new BBK and Chinatown. The host was really nice and helpful and she was cooking dinner for us every night !!! The rooms are more than ok for the price you pay and even the dorms are great ! Had the best stay ever in BBK! Loved it!!!

you can stay here like a family”
first of all, i booked here at 3 days but finally i stayed here 8 days!! because the housekeeper 'jane' was so kind and every guest can stay like a family. we usually ate dinner together and all night we can conversate. if you want to go somewhere, jane will take you that place( but you should pay for it^^) my own view this is really good place to stay. especially you are outgoing person, you must go this guesthouse kkkkk i miss you jane, guy, giggo, sina~~ see you later!! from jun

i have been in this hostel a nu ber of times now. it is not a five star resort, but if you have realistic expectations regarding the fact that this is a budget hostel, you will be in for a pleasant surprise. the hotel has a lovely outside hangout space by the river, with comfortable cushions. a great place to meet fellow travellers. it is close enough to khao san road to walk, but not close enough to be disturbed by drunk revellers and loud music. the lovely manageress, jane, often provides free homecooked thai food for all the guests!
