the guesthouse was totally fine! great funny manager living there with his child and wife! very cheap and perfect walkingdistance to khaosan road! great place outside just around the corner to have some authentic thai food for a great price! i got a balcony for my room, ac they help you out alot, just ask them! i had a great time there! met som really wonderful people aswell!

I needed to find a cheap place in Bangkok, centrally located, with hot water and a fan at a reasonable price. Place inn delivered on all fronts. It's not especially nice or clean, but it was a good landing point for me and a friend who'd spent all of 3 hours in S.E. asia.

Good place to stay. ”
Place was large, in a small street off the beaten tracks. Although I did hear people from down below partying. Private capsule-like bunks. My bed didn’t have a blanket and it was too late at night for someone to be at the desk to tell them. Nice people. Enjoyed my stay.

.... Road... but dorm room is super hot and dorm beds are the old wooden semi-coffin type, with only a few fans in the ceiling shared for all beds in the room, which is a bit smelly. So until the A/C comes on at around midnight, it is very hot and kinda smelly inside. And thankfully they give you a blanket too, cuz when the A/C is on, it's super cold! Hot water pressure very looooow, and awkward placement in the bathrooms, but gets the job done. Interesting decor in the room of Thailand beach areas, that I assume have been there since the 80's or 90's when this place probably first open. Breakfast is just toast and butter and jam, and coffee and tea all day. A bit rough and raw there, but a historic visit none-the-less. Good for one night after a long two-plane flight.

If you want to stay in this area it’s a pretty good spot. Rooms are as basic as it gets but mine had a fan and air con, hot shower.. for 350 baht that’s good enough. Don’t expect windows.. but there 100s of restaurants/bars etc right outside. This was the 2nd time Ive stayed.

I arrived late in the evening. They first gave me a lower class room without aircon even though I booked one with aircon. Then they upgraded me to a better room. Still the room and bathroom is very basic and dirty. Although the staff was helpful and reasonable, the hotel is in poor condition. No matter how cheap the price is,I think it is unacceptable. There are better places for the same price in that area. I stayed 1 night.

hotel in good position,you just go out and are in Rambrutti street,full of everything you need. This is the only positive thing,little room whit a small bathroom,dirty and noisy all night long! i suggest this place just if you have to wake up early to take shuttle bus.

The first thing you notice in room was the smell!!! Nothing else seemed to matter even though the place wasn't that clean (I've stayed in worse) the smell of draines was awful. Only noticed the stench in our room, so can't comment for everywhere lease, though the public areas seemed ok!! Stay here if you must, but smell your room before handing over any cash.

We arrived in the middle of the night, but still received a warm welcome. The room was good, we even got upgraded to an aircon room. The staff was helpful and really nice. Good location and wifi.

The location is great, close to Grand Palace and other sightseeing stuff. There are a lot of restaurants there and there is street food everywhere! Grand palace is just a quick walk so you don't have to take a cap, which is very handy :) During the night it's not too loud and the beds are compfortable. Only the shared bathroom / toilet need some renorvation

The Place Inn was conveniently located near Khaosan Road, but between the hole in the wall in my room, the holes in the sheets, the cold water in the shower, and bugs in the bathroom, it made for a pretty bad experience.

As backpackers we are used to slumming it and have stayed in many questionable hostels however this place is DISGUSTING. It is filthy and the bathrooms are completely unusable, stinking of sewage and cigarettes, and completely unhygienic. There was a pair of dirty underpants on the windowsill for the whole of the 2 days/ nights we were there and no evidence a cleaner went near the place. We resorted to sneaking into another hotel to use their showers as we couldn't face using the hotels. We were on the top floor (4th, no lift, bathrooms on floor below). The actual room had no windows and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The walls are stud so you could hear EVERYTHING from the living quarters next door, including the baby crying, the tv, arguments and cooking noises, as if they were in our room. This went on until 2am so we didn't get any sleep before our early flight. The corridors are filthy storage areas full of broken furniture and dirty washing. The location of the hotel on the website map is wrong so it was very difficult to find. I find it unbelievable that this place could ever be offered by any reputable hotel booking site.

When we turned up at the hotel the guy on the desk did not know we was even arriving and asked how much we had paid for the room however he was friendly and showed us to our room and how to work the air con etc. the room was small but there was only 2 of us for 2 nights. The floor was dirty and we didn't take our flip flops off the entire time. There were cob webs on the roof and in the corners of the room, dirty bed sheets (we slept under our beach towels) and dirty sink. The air con remote wouldn't work properly and although there was a television we would have proffered a clean room with no tv. We didn't dare shower in the bathroom as it stunk and there were cobwebs everywhere. Just a Very dirty hotel! The staff were nice enough but couldn't wait to leave! Although advertised with free wifi it does not work with iPhones and did not work with one of our tablets either.
