Nice budget hotel”

Nice clean room on a budget. Sukhumvit Soi 8 is my favorite place to stay. Location is very close to Nana station skytrain exit 4 Good restaurants and massage places on Soi 8 too. They have a golf cart that can take you Sukhumvit Road. The breakfast buffet looked good, but it wasn't included with my room. Only 150 baht for breakfast. This hotel is better than Royal Asia Lodge for about the same price. My only minor complaint is water in the shower drained slowly. I would definitely stay at Sawasdee Hotel on Soi 8 again!

Nice hotel, nice price, nice location”

I really liked staying at Sawasdee Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8. It is a little far to walk from the main road and BTS. But it is still in a good location, convenient to food places and entertainment. The rooms are small, but adequate. The hotel appears to be new, and it has a very clean appearance. There are some fixtures that were not installed well: For example there was no latch on the door to the shower - room. The bed was the biggest bed I've ever slept on. It was almost bigger than the room. And comfortable! WIFI worked very well. The water worked well. The shower area is actually roomy, and the water flows out very well. The staff at the hotel were friendly and tried to help visitors, though their English skills are fairly low.

Very good”

this was our 3rd stay at sawasdee. Its in a great locatiin, sukhumvit soi 8 , three quaters of the way down so its quiet , but at the same time only a short 5 minute walk to the top of the soi with lots of bars , restaurants and nana bts . Everything about the hotel is small-small rooms, small elevator, small restaurant that often is full at breakfast, limited choices, the usual sausages, boiled,/ fried egg, fruit, juices, tea , coffee, toast. $AU400 for the week average for the area, as it is close to everyrhing. No xomplaints, we got what we paid for-cheap accomodation, in a great location,sufficient breakfast, all staff apart from 2 were excellent-as i said, this was our third stay at sawasdee, last 2 times all staff were polite, proffesional , and there were a couole of staff- a lady , 'boi'from housekeeping, and a young man on reception, who now also drives customers to pattaya-who were so nice, friendly, approachable-these are the people who we remembee, not the 2 who were dour, sour, border line rude. the rude lady at reception was new to us- the last 2 times we visited she wasn't there. the lady working in the kitchen , who liked dropping plates on the shelf instead of placing the plates-not sure what her problem is but she is working in a service industry where the customers are paying her wages so she better deal with it! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to couples, families, singles. As a mixed race couple(me australian, my partner of 15 years Thai) we found that one particular receptiin lady i memtioned before, did not seem to like seeing my partner and I together, something to do with racism, maybe, just my own opinion and observation.

Great location and excellent service”

this little hotel is situated near the nana bts station, just 3 stops from siam, so i was near central bkk without the high cost of actually living in central bkk. its a 5 minute walk from the station, but with all the street foods lining soi 8, it was quite enjoyable. there is also a free tuktuk to and from nana bts which the hotel is happy to provide. all in all, it was a good stay, and the staff were pleasant and always had a greeting or conversation. the room was cheerfully coloured (mine was purple, though i realise now the whole hotel was purple). the hotel and room were clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and breakfast was simple but delightful fare. will definitely come back! thank you everyone at sawasdee @ soi 8!

Excellent Hotel”

Have travelled to Bangkok on various occassions and stayed at a number of hotels along Sukhumvit road. Sawasdee Hotel would have to be one of the best accomodations I've stayed in, in Thailand. My girlfriend and I found our room to be very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good for what they offered, the staff was very attentive and friendly which made our stay feel welcomed. The free one way Tuk Tuk service to Nana BTS was really good, however the walk back to the hotel can be a bit long and tedious (8mins). The only major downside of the hotel was the thin walls, which allowed us to hear some noises from our neighbouring guests, however we probably made more noises coming back very late at night after hitting the clubs. Overall we give this hotel a 9/10. Will definately stay there agian on our next trip back in 2013.

Nice, cosy hotel in a good location”

a little walk into soi 8, sawasdee hotel is located in a relatively decent neighbourhood around sukhumvit. the rooms were nice and the staff was quite helpful with information, but the rooms were somewhat small and the walls thin, so you could hear people in the other rooms. also, i would've preffered bathrooms with locks on them.

Great Value for the Location”

The Sawasdee Soi 8 hotel is located just under 10 minutes walk from Sukhumvit. We enjoyed the walk, although the hotel does offer a free shuttle to the BTS as well. The rooms were not large, but they were updated with new paint and design inside. The staff and service was friendly and quick. The breakfast was not a large selection but it diverse enough to have a good meal. We will consider staying here again because it is great value for the location.

Smallish rooms; Good location; Colorful”

We have stayed at Sawasdee Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8 twice now and enjoyed it on both occasions. While the hotel is an 8-10 walk to Sukhumvit Road & Nana BTR station, the hotel does have a tuk-tuk. If the driver recognizes you when walking, he will stop to ask if you want a ride. There is a 7-11 convenience store a short walk away and many restaurants, cafes and bars in Soi 8. We will stay at Sawasdee Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8 again on our next trip to Bangkok.

very good value for the money”

i just returned from my third stay at the sawasdee8. their rates are good and i know what i'm getting so i keep returning as opposed to taking a chance on an unknown hotel. i like the location on the quiet end of sukhumvit soi 8. it's within short walking distance of the nana bts station and if i don't feel like walking i take the complimentary tuk tuk service. the staff here are all very nice and welcoming. the rooms are simple, very clean and well-decorated. a little on the small side but the beds are big and comfortable and i travel light so space is not an issue. they have everything i need, from an in-room safe, to free in-room wifi, to a quiet sleep. the breakfast spread could be better, but the coffee is good quality and one of the reasons i come to bangkok is to sample the street food, so i don't want to fill up on breakfast food anyway. i usually have some yogurt, a little fruit, coffee, and then i'm on my way. single men traveling alone should know that they are guest friendly. they always greet my thai girlfriend with a smile and even a few laughs.

Centrally Located Boutique Hotel”

My third stay at Sawasdee Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8. There are only two things I can think of that some guests may complain about: 1) The room could be considered small and slightly cramped by international standards (but the are clean and have an adequate minibar); and 2) The walk to Nana BTS will be a little too far for some, especially those with mobility issues (however, they now have two tuk-tuks which run shuttles to Sukhumvit Road).

Home away from home”

i have been traveling in s.e. asia for 3 months and this is my home away from home. when i'm in bangkok i always stay at hotel sawasdee soi 8. very helpful and friendly staff, good location to bts nana station. can take skytrain to all major tourist and shopping areas. free tuk-tuk service, wifi,complementary breakfast. rooms clean good for 1 or 2 people with mini-bar and fridge.

Brand new hotel, great staff, quiet neighbourhood.”

Actually I liked this place so much I prolonged my stay here. The staff was very nice and helpfull. It's brand new so everything feels fresh. Not the biggest rooms, but had all the amenities I needed. It's deep inside soi 8, one of the more quiet soi's in this area. It's not interconnecting with other soi's so very little traffic. A bit of a walk to Sukhumvit(5/10min) but a complementary tuk-tuk 24h a day eliminated this as a problem. The hotel is quite small, so it doesn't have a bar/restaurante Not really needed as there are so many good alternatives nearby. The breakfast is pretty basic, but the fried rice was very good. Big lcd tv, but not so many english channels. Didn't matter to me as the wi-fi was very good(up to 6.5mb!) I've stayed in quite a few hotels in this area and as a budget accommodation I've found it unbeatable. I will come back and I highly recommend it as a low cost alternative!

Good price and location”

Stayed here twice and will again. Good value for money for this part of Bangkok, and in one of my favourite streets (Soi 8). Rooms are quite small, but clean, confortable and modern. Walls are thin, so sometimes can hear talking and tv from next room. Wifi a bit fiddly to connect to and sometimes have to re-sign in. Free cart service to and from Sukhumvit Rd and the skytrain, handy because the hotel is a long way down Soi 8 (the quiet end).

Fantastic Hotel ”

Lovely little hotel about halfway along Soi 8, which is a quiet residential area but still close to Nana attractions and BTS Station. The room is perfect. It is small but has everything I needed. Comfortable bed, large shower, balcony, safety box and strong Wi-Fi. There is also a fridge plus kettle. The breakfast was included and was tasty with lots of choice and good coffee. The staff are also lovely and friendly. All in all a lovely stay and I'll definitely look to return. Thank you Sawasdee Soi 8

Great location, great value for money”

We were recommened this hotel by one of our kids and it was perfect for us. We stayed a week in a room on the top floor and it was very comfortable and quiet. Good buffet breakfast included in the price of the room. Close to Nana BTS stop on Skytrain, but far enough down Soi 8 that it wasn't noisy. Lots of excellent eating options including delicious street food stalls closer to Sukhumvit Rd. Friendly, helpful staff. Next time we visit Bkk, we'll stay here again.

Pleasant Stay”

friendly staff, small but very clean and functional rooms, nice bathroom and small balcony. good breakfast. complementary tuk-tuk ride to the top of soi 8 (can also call the hotel and ask for the ride from sukhumvit road to the hotel). location relatively quiet compared to the activity at the top of the soi. no complaints at all. all this for a super low price too. recommended.

Sawasdee Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8 - Great!”

clean, comfortable and newly renovated reasonable size room. friendly front desk staff and extremely good tuk tuk service to the main road, which is a distance from the hotel by foot. the nana bts station is just located on the junction of the main sukhumvit road and soi 8, with street shopping and eateries all around. i was initially allocated a room on the 2nd floor, which is a little noisy for me. i requested for a change to the higher floor it was acceded without further question. i would definitely come back or recommend friend to this hotel.

my go to place getting even better”

This continues to be my go to place on extended weekend visits to Bangkok. It's location on soi 8 is very convenient for getting around the city. I love the quiet of the tree-lined soi and its darkness at night. Soi 8 itself has some good street vendors and therapeutic massage places. There is someone at the top of the soi selling fresh pomegranate juice now for 40 baht. The hotel itself has expanded its breakfast spread. Considering the price and the quality of this place I really don't consider other places anymore. This hotel is perfect for my humble needs.

Good Hotel...Staff very supportive...Location not as expected”

Location - Why not Good ? Hotel is good, No but the location was not as expected. Actually, it is at the very inner side of the Sukhumvit Soi 8, near about the dead end and you do not find any public transport nearby. You have to walk a long distance to the main road to get public vehicles or taxi or Sky train. Nana Station is on the main road but only negative is you will have to walk a lot. Also, the location is not near the Happening Places on Sukhumvit. If you are a party freak and want to stay at the center of the action, this hotel is NOT for you. Location - Good for Whom Location is very good if you want to stay at a peaceful place at Sukhumvit Soi 8. No crowd, No noise of Vehicles or market, pubs etc. A very Quiet place. Best part - Staff was very cooperative and Helpful. Especially I would like to mention receptionist AOM ( Malisa). She was very friendly and helpful and guided about a lot of good things. If I once again go to stay at this hotel, only reason will be Aom.

I stayed at the Sawasdee for two stretches of time while traveling through Thailand. The rooms are very clean, good showers, very nice beds, and a safe box in the closet. The breakfast left a little to be desired. It wasn't bad, I always found something to eat, but it was a little bland. The coffee, however, was very good. I stayed here because I wanted to be close to the BTS skytrain line at a reasonable price. Given that the lower Sukhumvit is a pricey area to stay, I think the Sawasdee is a good value. The free wifi was fast and dependable.
