Boonthavon Hotel is a modern,clean, and well located hotel.Within the walls of the "old town" it's quieter and within easy walking distance of restaurants, laundries, and all traveler services. It's just steps away from Chiang Mai's famous "Sunday Walking Street" market. The staff was friendly and efficient and the hotel felt secure. I recomend it to travelers looking for a good old town hotel.

Excellent Location, clean and budget”
the hotel is near tha-phae gate, which is close to all central activities in chiang mai. the sunday market is right outside and all the large temples are just walking distance. the hotel is a great deal for the price it charges. the rooms are clean and shiny. the showers are a bit weak but everything else is in perfect working order. no room service or porters available. the place is secured and cheap but good food joints and massage places are 2 steps away from the hotel. this will definitely be the hotel that i'm going to stay in the next time i visit

Excellent hotel, nice location in the old city”
Located near one of the gates surrounding the old city which helps with navigating. Lovely rooms that are cleaned every day and really friendly and helpful staff. Drinks are priced well, close to laundry services, and a really nice cafe that does the best pad Thai in chiang mai for 20 baht.

All the Basics you need, clean and great location”
We stayed in Chiang Mai for 2 nights to do a little shopping and dining. The Boonthavon hotel was perfect for anyone that isn't planning on spending a lot of time in their room. It is basic, but very clean. I've been traveling in Asia quite a lot and usually, for this price, you'll get a wet bathroom (shower and toilet together). The bathroom was clean with shower area separated from the toilet, which was a plus. You have to pay for internet, but it was fast. The best part about this hotel though was that it is located very close to restaurants, shopping, temples etc. It is located in a small and charming ally in the Old City. The neighborhood is great to walk around in.

As usual my stay at boonthavon was a pleasant one. been staying here for years since my very first visit to this lovely city of Chiang Mai. Will continue to stay here as I am familiar with the location and best of all the sunday walking street market is just a mere 2-3 minutes leisure walk. Thapae gate is just around the corner and dozens of great cafe around. good value for money and comfortable room.

Nice location in the old city”
the best features of this boonthavon are the location and the price. it's in the old city, close to temples and good restaurants. it's in a quiet alley so you won't be disturbed while sleeping. it was also really cheap. the mattress was a little saggy, but not terrible. water pressure on the shower was a little low. if you're looking for a place to lay your head while exploring chaing mai, this place is a good choice for the price.

Easy comfort”
Boonthavon is clean and comfortable and well located. The only drawback is the design of the building allows for noise from the carpark and check in area to penetrate to just about all rooms. I stay often at Boonthavon, just take some earplugs if talking children etc. wakes you up.

Clean hotel on a Quiet Street”
We have stayed here several times while in Chiang Mai. The rooms are clean and comfy in a secure building. It is located on a quiet street that is very near restaurants, markets and attractions. The bed is comfortable and they provide standard amenities (shampoo, soap etc) and a fridge which is nice. We have always enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Wonderful location in quiet neighborhood”
Hotel is in the in the Thapae Gate area, extremely close to Night Bazzar and Sunday market. There are lots of restaurants and travel agencies nearby. It is in the middle of the city center and yet very quiet at night. The rooms are relatively small but extremely clean and come with nice balcony. If we were to visit Chiang Mai again, we would choose this hotel without any hesitation.

it's great! you get what you paid for. on my first stay thr, there is a little problem with heater. is tricky to get the heater working. initially when my friend and i were there, we couldnt find any local thai restaurant nearby. mostly are western restaurants... we walked out of pad thae gate and finally we found one. during our second stay which is our third day in chiang mai we finally found a local restaurant nearby. their pork curry in banana leaves is nice! the staff in the serviced apartment is nice. tho her english isn't very good but it is still understandable. best if you can learn some simple thai for easier communication. i show her my two bookings for different days in chiang mai. and she seems to have some problem with my second booking but problems were eventually solved. which is a plus point! then when we went for our 2 days one night trekking she kept our bags for us. no theft. the apartment is located near to sunday night market and is a walkable distance to saturday night market.

Fantastic value for money, superbly clean!”
One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in, and you'll not find better value for money in Chiang Mai. The balcony was a great bonus!. No breakfast or restaurant, but it is only a stone's throw from all the great eating places and main roads. Great bed, TV, aircon, bathroom, and lots of space. Will stay here again, especially at the super low price. Unbeatable value for money!

Stayed here for 2 nights and had a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were really clean and have good facilities. Easy walking distance to markets, shops and restaurants. Would stay again if in Chiang Mai.

Little gem in a great location”
we stayed one night only, having stayed in long term accommdation further out of chiang mai, but found it really pleasant and would definitely use it again. in a great location in a quiet soi a stone's throw from the main tourist stops - all good for walking. we found the place really efficient and went that little extra mile you don't always get with guesthouses. they were really nice and helpful and the place was nice and quiet as well as comfy. good stable wifi too.

God value hotel in perfect location”
i really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. location was excellent. clean standart room with balcony. good value for the price. staff didn't speak very good english but was trying to be helpful. i really like to have a tea before i go to bed and asked downstairs for a cup. they gave me a full set with plates and spoon. you can walk from hotel anywhere in old quarter. i liked to wake up every morning with drums and bells from the temple across the street. very memorable experience.

A good value for money place to stay in Chiang Mai. Close to all the major sites and near loads of restaurants/bars and just a minute from the Sunday night market (walking street).Little balcony, ideal for drying clothes. The only negative about our stay was the noisy ac unit and no free Wifi. They charge 50 Baht a day (24 hours), but lots of cafes and bars offering free Wifi in Chiang Mai.

Great place to stop between flights.”
I was only there for a short stopover between flights in and out of Delhi but the hotel was easy to find and they arranged a taxi for me the next morning. The opened the breakfast buffet early so I could eat before I had to leave for my flight which was nice. I was seemingly the only guest at the hotel but that may have been because I was in late and out early.
