Beautiful stay in the jungle”
We enjoyed our stay at Chiang Dao Hut. The ladies who run the place are very friendly. It is possible to rent motorbikes and bicyles (300 and 100 THB/day). The bungalows are quite basic, but there is hot water for the shower. During our stay at the beginning of February it got very cold at night. So be prepared! But during the day it gets hot as well. The food was very good. Chiang Dao Hut is very close to the caves (walking distance) as well as Wat Tham Pha Plong, which is situated picturesque at a hill nearby. Before you enter the grounds of Wat Tham Pha Plong there is a sign indicating the Chiang Dao Nature Trail (on the left side of the road). The path leads through the jungle on very small path. There is one fork in the path. If you go left you end up at the Chinag Dao Cave. It takes about 2 hours and is totally worth it. We didn't meet a single person.

Peaceful getaway, great staff!”
My wife and I have been to Chiang Dao several times now, and we really enjoy the drive from Chiang Mai (about two hours). The first couple of times we stayed at Chiang Dao Nest, which is very nice. But the last time we checked they were booked. So instead we found Chiang Dao Hut (which is right next to the Nest). We were not disappointed. We liked the huts very much, and it was very quiet and peaceful. The huts are very clean, and the staff was wonderful...always making us feel welcome every time they saw us, and the food was very good, too. The only downside was that the futon style mattresses are hard on the bones. Wish they would invest in soft top covers for them. I don't think we could have tolerated more than two nights on the mattresses, but maybe next time we'll bring our own top covers!

Fun, friendly place with atmosphere!”
This is perhaps our sixth time staying at Chiang Dao Hut. We love staying here because you can rent a clean, comfortable, single hut with a decent mattress with a fan for 350 baht. It's also within walking distance to the beautiful temple at the top of the hill and a number of decent dining choices. The village is quaint and charming and there are little mom and pop grocery stores you can get cold beer, sodas, and snacks to partake and head back to Chiang Dao Hut and relax on your porch and watch the sun set.

Peaceful and charming”
This accommodation is an incredible value, with cozy huts on a beautifully landscaped property in a very tranquil setting. I was sad to leave at the end of our time here, and would absolutely stay here again in the future. The on-site restaurant provides very good food at reasonable prices, but the close proximity of this hotel to the renowned Nest 1 and Nest 2 restaurants is the real bonus. All around, very happy with our stay at Chiang Dao Hut.

We keep coming back!”
This stay at Chiang Dao Hut must have been our seventh or eight. Whenever we return we are greeted by smiling familiar faces who are genuinely happy to see us again. This time we booked a superior bungalow and how sweet it was: a lovely hammock to nap away an hour or two after climbing the many steps of the beautiful temple down the road, and a wide porch for my wife to roll out her yoga mat and do some stretches. At the front desk you can buy ice cold cans of beer. The sheets and linens were clean and nice smelling, the shower had plenty of hot water, and the fan was all we needed in the evening for the sweet balmy mid-November climate. Such a great place to stay for the affordable price.

The best!”
Took the bus from Chiang Mai, then immediately hop on a red cab/ truck to the Chiang Dao Huts, very fast. The huts location was amazing! Close to the Chiang Dao caves and nestled nicely by the mountains. Rented a scooter by the near by place called The Cave and got everywhere I needed. You definitely hear nature while sleeping, this includes random dog howls. The price was right, good times.

Great location ”
Chiang Dao Hut is a tranquil location (we stayed during low season) situated in a jungle setting and an easy walk Wat Tham Pha Plong, the caves and a nice swimming hole down the road. My favorite part was just relaxing on the porch of our hut listening to the wildlife and watching butterflies. There are several eateries adjacent so lots of yummy options. Our hut, one with shared bathroom area, was simple and comfortable. We would have stayed longer had it been an option.

We keep returning to Chiang Dao Hut!”
Okay, this is our 7th time at Chiang Dao Hut (we live in Chiang Mai) and this place is consistently excellent for the price. Approx. 300 baht ($10 USD) gets you a cozy little bungalow in the heart of the beautiful jungle, but with modern accommodations (hot shower, sit down toilets, etc.), but the best thing is the staff. The ladies there are so lovely and warm and their welcome when we arrive is like having family waiting for you!

Quiet, peaceful, great location”
This charming property is set in the beautiful countryside of Chiang Dao, and is very close to the more expensive Chiang Dao Nest 1 and 2, which both offer incredible gourmet Thai and Western food, so that's where I ate! I had one breakfast at the Hut and it was okay. It's on the road that runs between the Chiang Dao Cave Temple and the beautiful mountainside temple of Wat Tham Paplong. Both are easy walking distance, or you can rent a bike or scooter. When it was time for me to get back to the bus station in town, one of the staff offered to take me on her scooter for 50 baht (which I thought very reasonable), however instead of just taking me there directly, she gave me a stunning tour of the countryside! We ambled down many back roads and stopped several times so I could take photos. I could tell that she was very proud of her area and wanted to share it with me...absolutely wonderful. I paid 400 baht for a nice bungalow with good screens and a comfy bed. This was with a shared toilet-shower building. Much less expensive than the Nest but in just as good a location. The only stress was getting there from the bus. For some reason the bus driver dropped me off in town, instead of the bus station! So I had to wait a while for a taxi. It would be best to call the Hut and arrange a pick-up, but I had no phone.

Nice location and good service”
The hotel is near Chaing Dao cave. You can see Doi Laung Chiang Dao from your hut. It is good view and nice weather in winter, lots of foggy. We stayed in a hut with separate toilet and shower but the room is clean and the toliets and showers are enough for guests. We got good and friendly service, especially when we ordered new menu for breakfast. We were happy to stay in this hotel!

Simple huts in beautiful landscape”
Close to the Chiang Dao caves on countryside this "resort" features small wooden huts with everything you basically need. Fan instead of aircon, hot shower, a room comfortable enough, a big balcony with hamock, no fridge. Breakfast or lunch outside in the open air, served from friendly staff with difficulties to understand English, but one can manage. We stayed there in December and it got really cold in the night, approx. 10°C. We would have wishes for more blankets, we were freezing in Thailand, imagine Dinner options in that area are rare. We followed the recommendation from Lonely Planet and had dinner at Chiang Dao Nest, which is close. Food was excelent. We can recommend the Chiang Dao Hut as good value for money to explore the surrounding tourist attractions, but please bring you winter jacket when you travel in December.

A cool affordable resort with free bikes!”
Chiang Dao is gorgeous and well worth a few days. The Chiang Dao hut is situated next to the local bar and a few restaurants. Grab one of the free bikes to visit the temple and of course the cave. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even helping me get back an item I left in my room.

Silent place”
If you are looking for stay in silent place in chiang dao, this is a good option. Price is low and what you get for it is good - clean bungalow with clean sheets and welcoming stuff. It is located next to Chiang Dao cave, so you can visit it before tourists arrive. We went there by motorbike, so it was easy for us to move around, otherwise no public transport to that place and not sure if there is taxi as the city is very very small and this hut is quite far away from chiang dao village. Very quiet place with nature sounds all around!

No frills Hut in the Jungle ”
Enjoyed my stay. Overall, I would definately return again. I stayed in a standard Hut which was ample for my requirements. It is a large mattress on the Hut floor with a small wooden shelf unit. Outside a nice decking area with chair, table and stool. I so enjoyed sitting out at night listening to nature. For the price I would highly recommend this place for a stay. It was basic accommodation but it all added to the feel of being put in the jungle. On the negative side the restaurant opposite was closed each evening before 7:30pm. This was to early for me for a meal at night. Tip, walk down the road 2 minutes to some similar accommodation where their restaurant was always open until. Layer and had a nice menu to choose from albeit a little more than what I wanted to pay. It is so peaceful and away from it all at Chiang Dao Hut I didn't want to leave. If you want a break from the hassle and bustle of the towns and cities you will not regret choosing here.

Wonderful setting and nice perks make a good deal!”
This place is truly lovely. We stayed in one of the four newly constructed simple huts which share a nice, clean western bathroom/shower unit. The owner, Tint ("Ting"), and her family are professional and welcoming. The Hut operator, Maam as I knew her, spoke little English but was very patient and made sure to understand and accommodate all of our requests. We also joined in on a trek of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, organized by the Hut, and had a spectacular one night excursion. The guides they hired were friendly and focused on our comfort.

Wonderful Place to stay in Chiang Dao”
Hut at a very reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location within a short walk to Chiang Dao Cave and not so far from the Hill Temple, in the opposite direction. It’s really very convenient with three different restaurants just opposite the Chiang Dao Hut Resort. I would recommend this to any other NIE traveling to Chiang Dao.

Awesome small resort!”
Chiang Dao Huts is a very affordable resort within walking distance to the Cave (a MUST DO!), it has its own restaurant, bike rentals, laundry and situated in beautiful scenery right at the base of the mountain. It also had one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for three weeks! I loved staying here!

Chiang Dao nature break”
Chiang Dao huts is perfect for a quiet break away. Standard rooms have shared bathroom which were clean and fine for us. It has Chiang Daos' only bar next door, so great for a game of pool or drink without hearing anything from the huts. Also near the cave and temple, and other restaurants.

Amazing scenery and beautiful hut ”
Loved staying here. The huts are beautiful and serene and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Waking up to the mountain rising above you is incredible and the proximity to the two temples in Chiang Dao is a definite plus! My only issue was the lack of good food in close proximity- the restaurant across the street is fine but boring with very small portions. If I’m in Thailand again there’s a good chance I’ll come back!
