Exceptional”

This hotel is just a little past its prime and seems to believe in deferred maintenance. But the place has more atmosphere and character than just about anywhere else. Great colour tones, multiple nooks to sit and read a book etc. Its surrounded by interesting markets and food courts. A quick Grabcar gets you to the old town. The staff are extremely helpful and breakfast was much better than expected considering their low rates. We had a Delux Double room which was very spacious and had some nice interesting furniture pieces. We're full time travelers and would be very happy to stay here again.

Lovely ”

The staff were very helpful and I quite liked the walk into town. One of the lovely features of this hotel are the gardens that have something of a cultivated jungle aspect to them that deliver privacy and tranquility. The swimming pool is very nice too. I thought the room nice and large and comfortably furnished but the sound proofing was limited as you could hear your neighbour's. The area the hotel is in has some nice bars but wasn't great for restaurants in my opinion but as I say that didn't matter to me as the walk into town was pleasant and taxis or tut tuts would be cheap enough.

Made the holiday”

I go ona holiday to meet my with my future wife once or twice a year. We have limited income and limited time, so we have to make the best of it. We chose right. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is nice and simple. It was actually REALLY good but the new lady that joined few days into our vacation needs some better curry recipes :D more than worth the money, everything works and they have a refreshing pool! If I go to Chiang Mai again - I won't look further.

Quiet at night ,Great pool, staff good. Cute hotel ”

It's not easy to find a quiet place inn chinagmai, Loved the big pool. Mimi at front desk the best, rooms are good but a bit small and too dark grey color masculine for my taste. Very reasonable price. I left because I'm taking classes in the old city and wanted to be able to walk there, since I don't drive a motorbike and got tired of taxi fares. Still another time I would come back.

Friendly service and comfortable, clean rooms”

Updated rooms, Nice lighting, Comfortable bed and linens

Having stayed in Thailand for over a month, my husband and I have experienced a variety of hotels and guesthouses thus far. Lanna Boutique has been one of the friendliest and cleanest hotels. Only disappointment was that the pool is right in the center of the hotel right by where guests check and exposed to whoever is working and sitting in the vicinity and also shaded by the building which made it too cool for me even in warm weather. Missed breakfast but they offered to order food for us but ended up going to a local restaurant a block up the street that you pass turning in (local Thai joint but with English menu) that had delicious food for about 30 baht a meal. Since the hotel is located farther out from the old city you get a feel for the real Thailand with an awesome market just up the street that other's might look over. Also would have loved more time to get a massage at the hotel and not have to go more than a few feet back to my bed! Next time!

Great place to start”

Normally I use Airbnb while traveling to reduce costs and meet hosts. I tried that twice in Chiang Mai with bad experiences. So I decided to try hotels since they were the same price. Much better experience! I love that this is on a quiet out of the way street where you don't hear the hustle and bustle of city life and traffic. I loved the pool, chairs and sound of the pool waterfall. It felt very peaceful here and the room was good. Next time I stay here though I would rent a biycle during my stay it's not "far" from old town but it's not a pleasant or short walk either. A pedal bike would be perfect I think and only cost $1-$2 per day depending in where you get one. There are places to eat nearby and an internet cafe. Siwattani (sp?) market is also nearby which has food stalls and cheap clothes n such. Easy walking distance. Definitely try the Ab Petite Cafe nearby amazing salads for only $3 and good spaghetti also 95baht each.

Freindly staff, boutique hotel and good location

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. First of all, the staff were very friendly and they knew their customers very well. They were attentive and helpful at all times. The beauty about this hotel is the swimming pool in the centre of the hotel and it is open 24 hours. The hotel is away from the city centre, however, the public transport and tuk tuks are easily available from the main road. The rooms are spacious and each room is individually decorated. The hotel is fast expanding and there is a whole new block adjacent to the main hotel. All tours of Chiang mai are available from the hotel it self. There is a whole shopping area and restaurants next to the hotel.

Good rooms, great service, but terrible location”

The courtyard pool area, hotel design, massage, & a great sauna

i was made to feel very welcome at this brand new boutique hotel, built onto an existing massage and sauna club which an expat claimed to be one of the best in chiang mai. i certainly had a fantastic thai massage, and this, coupled with the sauna, make staying here worthwhile in itself, but then my objective was just to kick back and relax for a few days. great service, with excellent english spoken by the two girls at reception, which is just as well because the owners don't speak any, though they're very friendly and accommodating. the night porter doesn't speak any english either, so get all your requests in before the girls go home at the end of the day. on the downside, the hotel is miles from anywhere, though it's only a short walk to the main road where you can flag down a taxi, or have them book one for you. my room was spacious and immaculately designed, but the mattress was like concrete, and the dire tv reception rendered it unwatchable. there was also an infestation of mosquitoes in there in the evenings, and it took quite a while to fumigate. the breakfast was limited and very disappointing too. despite these irritations, i would heartily recommend the hotel as a good spot for some r&r.

Quiet, good value and good facilities

Lanna boutique hotel Situated in a very quiet and pleasant suburban neighbourhood next to the university, a short ride into the walled city. Plenty of food stalls and small restaurants around, there is a big wet market with food court style food stalls in the morning. The pool area covers most of the ground floor, though the pool don't looked too clean. There is a spa and sauna for guests after 3pm. Breakfast next to the pool is vey relaxing and pleasant. The room is simply furnished with tv, minibar etc , our deluxe suite is in the wing across the lane, and has a balcony with the view of the city.

Beautiful hotel with swimmingpool ”

Relatively cheap and a nice swimmingpool

We enjoyed staying at Lanna Boutique resort with our children. The swimmingpool was nice and big. The staff was very friendly but only a few spoke good english, which led to some misunderstandigs in the restaurant. The hotel was locatello 2 km north of the old city, so we had to take tuk tuks to get around. The gym was pretty poor. No fan or aircondition and old / cheap machines. When we got to the hotel the staff were not aware of our booking of a deluxe suite, so they first gave us a standard room. We finally got a deluxe suite, which was rather small. The new annex building was new, so the room did not have reading lights and the paint on the chairs was still wet. The extra bed was very hard.
