Outstanding Hotel in Chiang Mai”
We stayed at the Oriental Siam Resort in Chiang Mai for four nights at the end of June, and left to go to Chiang Rai for two nights and returned for the fifth night. The hotel was only two years old. The grounds around the pool and the tropical garden in the breakfast area were well maintained and quite lovely. The service at the hotel was exceptional! Nothing was too much for the owners. When we arrived we were greeted with a delicious fruit platter and cold drinks. After that, Pumpse, the owner asked if were hungry and brought us sandwiches. Breakfast was fabulous! You could order just about anything off the menu. The omeletes were delicious! We were upgraded the first day and then upgraded again the second day! They told us when we arrived that this was our new home and it was beginning to feel like it. The staff would come to our room with umbrellas when it rained so we wouldn't get wet. We left for Chiang Rai for a few days and asked if we could have the room for the same rate when we returned. They ended up discounting that rate! We were picked up from the bus when we returned and surprised with a delicious dinner of soup, pad thai, chicken with cashews, and a heavenly fruit and custard dessert covered with orchids, This surprise was for our 20th anniversary. Then the staff sang to us. Pumse, the owner had been a chef at a 5 star restaurant in Holland and the food was fabulous! The surprise was a highlight of our trip! When we left Pumpse took us to the airport and didn't leave until she was sure we had gone through security. She even called us the next day to make sure we made it to Bangkok . The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was the distance from the city and from the many attractions. We ended up spending a lot of money on drivers. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Splendid experience”
It was an excellent experience staying in Oriental Siam Resort. It was a bit out of town but not a problem as we arranged our own transport and the resort provides taxi service on request. The food served is very good and we had a lot of fun and experienced great food whilst exploring the restaurants and food stalls around the area. There is also a mall nearby called Promenada within walking distance. Only advice is mind the highway when crossing! Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to have a quiet and peaceful time whilst pampered by an awesome staff. Will stay again when I'm back in Chiang Mai.

Oriental Siam 11/20-11/25”
What can you say about a place that welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel like one of the family from check-in to check-out? Nat, Peter and the entire staff of the Oriental Siam do their utmost to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. They exceeded my expectations in every way. We stayed in the Orchid room. It was large, very nice with a comfortable bed and pillows. Room had a large flat screen tv, dvd player and wireless internet access. It came with a separate dressing area with refrigerator and hot water maker for coffee. The room also came with a huge bathroom with large tub, separate shower. Everything was tiled and spotlessly clean. There was even a bowl with floating orchids placed in the bathroom for a tropical touch. All areas of the room were separated by carved teak doors. When we arrived late at night a security guard would walk us to our room out of courtesy. While this hotel is in a cozy Thai community, I never felt the guards presence was necessary at any time. When we wanted to go to the Underground City, Peter even offered the free use of one of their cars. I felt like I was leaving home by the time we left on the 25th. Peter, Nat and the entire staff had become good friends. If you want to become part of a family in Thailand, please consider staying at the Oriental Siam Resort. You will not be disappointed.

Relaxing”
Our stay was wonderful. The staff are most tentative, and friendly. The environment is very relaxing, and I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay away from the city. I have never been to Chiang Mai before, and so I think, from the reviews, I was expecting more country. The resort is located near neighborhoods and a temple which was pretty neat. So the Pros: Very relaxing, and a nice get away from the city. The resort offers a taxi service that will drive you to and from the city, or where ever you are looking to go during the day. Breakfast was very good; the same thing was offered daily, but it was very good, and fresh. The scenery is beautiful and offers a lot of privacy, and the gym is very nice too. The swimming pool is very nice as well. I do think this is a great resort for families as well as couples. Its family owned, so you are getting more of the family feel from the service, where you get more of an impersonal feel from large resorts like the Marriot for example. The owners are very nice. We were going to walk to a local resort for dinner, but we were not sure where it was, so one of the owners decided to drive us there for free. When we said goodbye, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. You will know what I mean when you stay here. I am glad we stayed here because it gave us more of the experience we were looking for. We wanted a traditional experience, and not a major resort, or hotel experience. Cons: Because it is family run, and because perhaps we were there on off season, dinner was not always available, even though there is a restaurant. But but but, this is not a bad thing because the staff recommended we go to two different restaurants, and we did, and we are so glad we did because we had awesome experiences at both places. In conclusion, I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in Chiang Mai. It was very pleasant, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Outstanding little resort!”
My wife and I stayed for 6 nights and we felt we were being treated like family. I arrived with an injured knee. They took me to the hospital, waited while as being seen, provided all their help during my recovery and attended to all our needs. It was a great experience. I can't say enough to show how much we enjoyed staying there and how much we appreciated their attention. The place: It is just beautiful, perfect to get away from the city environment and to relax. Not a big resort; however, the way it is set up gives you all the privacy you may need as a couple or family. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. You have the option to dine at restaurant or with more privacy just by your room. You can spend a lot of time outside in the garden, by the pool or the pond. The food is good and at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed having breakfast by the pond. It was just so peaceful. The people: It is evident the owners love their resort. They spend so much time caring for the place and the visitors. They also do a good job at transmitting the idea to their staff. They were all polite, attentive and more than anything, caring. I can honestly say they brought me back to health and we were able to continue with our vacation. They answered our questions and provided good unbiased advice on tours and activities. The driver (Pon) is a great guy to talk to and trust that he will take you to the right places to make your visit great. The location: Easy access to town by taxi. If you want to see Chiang Mai but still have a feeling of solitude, this is the place. The great thing about it is that it combines the experience of a resort with the local life. We walked around and found little shops, a very local restaurant with excellent food, vendors, schools, etc. We really enjoyed seeing the real local Thai people around the resort. We will certainly go back to this resort. Many of the reviewers got it right, it is a gem and paradise!

Christmas trip to Chiang Mai”
This is a very quiet small resort at the edge of Chiang Mai. It is an oasis in a busy city. The best thing about Oriental Siam are the people - they are all wonderful and attentive. If you are looking for a locally managed resort to spend a few days in Chiang Mai, this is a great choice.

Our stay was tranquil”
We arrived at the Oriental Siam after 2 days in Bangkok and we couldn't be more happy with leaving the hustle and bustle behind for a nice relaxing time at this hotel. Its a little outside of the main tourist section of Chaing Mai but that is exactly what we were looking for. We were immediately greeted by Peter and his wife who own the hotel. They were so attentive to every need and were constantly making sure we had everything we needed. They had a dedicated driver who would take you to locations around the city (for a price that was reasonable) and they provided recommendation to attractions around the city. Upon leaving we expected to have a final bill for a few items we had from the mini bar and they declined to take our money. It has a real family feel and everyone is happy to be working for the owners. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.

Absolutely amazing resort!”
I can't say enough good things about our stay at this resort. It was so peaceful and relaxing. ..just what we wanted when looking to escape the bustle of Chiang Mai. Our room was big, had very comfortable beds, and a fantastic shower with separate jacuzzi tub. The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The restaurant is delicious and your stay comes with a very impressive free breakfast. However our favorite part of the resort was the staff and their service. Absolutely amazing!!! Several staff members and the owner were waiting at the entrance for us when we arrived and we were greeted by name. Our bags were taken to our room as we were given a full tour of the property and all the amenities. The owner emphasized that they were there for anything that we needed, and that proved to definitely be true. Every staff member went above and beyond the call of duty. It is obvious that they genuinely care about the satisfaction of the guests and don't just view it as a job. So many little extras were done that we never would have expected. Please don't hesitate to stay here. ...you will NOT regret it.

Loved it!”
We arrived after a very long flight from Beijing but the welcome was so warm we Forgot all about it. The resort is set in a beautiful garden with pond, ”Rice field” and a playground for kids. For our 4yo daughter they had princess and Hello Kitty covers. And for every meal a cartoon cup and plate were set on the table. The resort is located in a local area behind a very nice temple. Local shops and a 7/11 are at walking distance. For the old city of Chiang mai it will take you about 15/20minutes. Download the “grab” app. Works with cash as well, if you don’t have a CC. Breakfast lunch and dinner are of very good quality. The restaurant/bar nicely situated just next to the pond. The villa’s are spacious, clean, nicely decorated and supplied with lots of amanities. The pool isn’t big but enough to play with the kids or take a few strokes when nobody else is accupying the pool. We loved the resort for its staff, its accomodation, its grounds and its location just outside the city.

Great place to stay! Great value!”
Oriental Siam is a great place to stay for location, breakfast, comfortable rooms and by far the friendliest staff in Chiang Mai. Very scenic little resort and near the city yet still completely quiet. Thanks for everything!

Very nice staff.”
We stayed with 2 kids. They did not charge us any extra cost for those kids but served them with very nice breakfast. My kids loved it very much. The resort itself is very clean and peaceful although it is located near Chiang Mai city area. However, there was nothing to do around that area. I recomend you have your own transportaion if you would like to explore Chiang Mai city because it is not walkable distance from the resort.

Oriental Siam Resort”
located a long way out of Chiang Mai (not far from the Manadrin Oriental) the resort is set in beautiful grounds with individual villas that are nicely laid out, immaculately clean and very spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Superb resort if you want to chill out by the pool in total peace and relax. If you want to explore Chiang Mai they can provide a car and driver although this is more expensive than the local taxis. Local restaurants are limited but there is a good selection if you are prepared to travel into Chiang mai itself.

Real 5-star services!”
I would say this is an excellent resort with staffs serve with heart! You can really enjoy your holiday here, the swimming pool is not big but big enough to have fun with few friends; the restaurant is not the most fancy one but good enough to serve you a relaxing dinner. Let alone the nice smiles and services provided by all staffs there. Many people may concern the location of the resort as it is not located in the city center. However, I do think this is an advantage of the hotel for those who are looking for a break from the crowds. And the fact is, it is just 10-15 minutes drive from the resort to the old city. We stayed here for 4 nights and we requested for the driver services. The nice driver, Mr. Ma Lee (forgive me for not able to spell it right), took us to all tourist spots that we request, including ATV, gun shooting, spa, etc. You can actually relay on the driver for traveling advises. You may request a private tour to the white temple or other tourist spots in ChingLai as it will be much more comfortable to stay in hotel's car rather than the local tours...

Paradise ”
One of the best places that I have ever stayed in. The service is excellent and the staff would go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The landscaping of the resort is amazing and extremely well taken care of. This place is a small paradise, 15 minutes outside of Chiang Mai and should not be missed. I

Wonderful resort”
One of the most lovely places we have stayed. The staff were all a smiling and helpful team with options for day trips and ideas to explore Chiang Mai directly from the resort. Highly recommended for anyone who likes to be treated very well. If you had kids it would be great to stay here :)

An oasis away from the city”
Great hotel to stay in Chiang Mai if you are in need of relaxation and solitude. It offers free airport shuttle as well as the possibility to hire a staffed taxi driver who also can serve as your guide.Breakfast was excellent and the staff was willing to cater to your every need. The owner, Mrs. Pongsri, was wonderful and made you feel so welcome. This place made you feel VIP!!! The only drawback is that is a bit away from the old city. Overall, great place to stay !

Environment is beautiful. The room is comfortable”
Hotel like a big garden. Villa building is also very comfortable. Breakfast is very rich and delicious. Children like to play here. Most people live in here is a European, Chinese know little. The boss is very warm, know that we are Chinese also specially sent Chinese waiter to accompany us to go out to play, without extra charge. Later to Chiang Mai still live here! The service is also very good. Like here. Thanks boss!

Wonderful rooms in an idyllic resort and the staff couldn't be friendlier.”
Only stayed here for three nights and it was a real drag to leave as we had enjoyed it so much. It was like having your own private villa and the rooms were beautifully decorated. My daughter really enjoyed the swimming pool but the best aspect was the staff who were so friendly and accommodating. Would love to come back one day. Only downside is it's a wee bit far from the centre of Chiang Mai but don't let that out you off

Fabulously appointed property”
As others noted, this place is really a gem. We had our own private villa with a porch. Staff was cordial, morning breakfast by the lake was lovely. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the managers were accommodating in every way. All in all, a perfect property for a relaxed vacation. But if you want to explore Chiang Mai, you might consider a closer site. Getting a cab was difficult, esp off-hours both from the hotel (the staff needs to contact a car to come out and pick you up)and to it (some cabs didn't want to drive out). Although it's only ten minutes away, sometimes the town felt inaccessible.

Beautiful Hotel in Paradise - Wonderful Staff!”
We had an amazing experience here, The OSR is beautiful and is kept to the highest standard. The hotel is set in lovely gardens and is away from the hustle and Bustle of Chiang Mai town. We had our own personally driver / guide who took us wherever we wanted and was extremely knowledgeable. We were really looked after and nothing was too much trouble
