Nice, clean, little place with a friendly staff. ”
This little place was a good price, in a great location, and was clean. We reserved the room for 2 nights and ended up staying a 3rd which was easy enough with the front desk staff who spoke perfect English. The bed was a typical rock hard Asian bed, but we slept great our whole stay. Clean towels and main service in the room every day too. The place was a little trick to find since it's tucked away in the back of Villa Duang Champa and the two are associated in some way so if you go to the Villa, the staff there can help you. Sparrow Nest is located right in the middle of of the Sunday Market and has a few bars/restaurants nearby. Also, it's just a short 15 minutes walk to where the Chiang Mai party scene is if that's what you're looking for. But because of it's location, it's nice and quiet and a bit removed from that party scene. Perfect for couples that don't want to spend all their time out at bars. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Chiang Mai!

Hidden nest in the old city”
Me and my girlfriend we stayed in the hotel on weekend, which added a nice memories to a sunday's walking street market happening just right outside of the hotel. It was a really nice evening sipping good espresso In the backyard they practically have couple of rooms in the garden, which belongs to Sparrow's Nest. They are cheap clean and simple. Vintage small Tv works more as a little decoration in a small room, where is a one big bed and a nice glassed cabinet, where the clean towels are waiting for you. Shower and toilette are together in a small backroom. There is a hot water. Our experience with this place is very positive, but we have to admit that we stayd there only in the evening and we overnight. In this period there are construction works in progress on Ratchadaemnoen Road, where the guesthouse is located, so may be it is not the most quiet place nowadays. But the terrace and frontside of the Duang Champa hotel are with no questioaning one of the most relaxed and nice places to have a food and cofee in Chiang Mai old city.

Beautiful little hideaway in Old Chiang Mai”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sparrow's Nest. Located behind a posh boutique hotel, the Sparrow's Nest was like a precious little gem hidden in the middle of Chiang Mai's historic district. Tangmo, Tony and staff treated me like a long-time guest, and I felt very much at home with their personal and caring touch. The location was ideal, practically in the geographic center of the old city. Its location down a quiet little soi offers travelers a nice respite after a day of temple-hopping and trekking. Rooms amenities include tv, mini-fridge, and aircon. The bathroom is spacious, and the rooms are clean and pleasant. If you like to come "home" to a quiet room in a garden setting, and prefer a quiet location away from the hubbub of the backpacker district, the Sparrow's Nest is for you.

Convenient and Quiet”
we stayed here 13-14 october. the room was lovely, with very nice deco, especially the bathroom. we are not comparing it with a full-priced hotel, as this is a guest house and costs only about usd20 per night, but even a proper hotel might not be much better than this. the room was clean, especially the bathroom. the tv was in a retro style, which fits the room deco just nicely, the cabinet is a glass one with wooden frame - just great! and the bed sheet is very fine too. they provide room cleaning and towel change while we were out - somwething we didn't expect for a guest house at this price level (if we knew this in advance, we would have instructed them not to change the towels - they were used just once). now about the location - just perfect, it is at the middle of the road that hosts the sunday night market, just 20 meters away from the action. please not to confuse this with the night bazaar - not worth going as they sell more fake goods and expensive too. the sunday night market is not to be missed, it is cheap, have more variety, and feels more like a carnival. you should start by 6 pm, as you won't be able to see everything by the time they close at 10pm. we would come back to stay if we return next time. highly recommended.

Great location but no view”
The location of the sparrows nest is great; right in the center of the old city. The rooms for a good size for the price and very clean. The bathroom size was great and the staff was super friendly and helpful. There is also a nice little garden/lounge area to relax in. We needed a cab really early the morning we left and they arranged that for us. The only downfall was our one window faced a brick wall. It wasn't a big deal though because really, we weren't on vacation to stay in our room. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Great location”
the sparrow' nest guest house lies in back of another larger hotel owned by the same person. the rooms are aesthetically pleasing, and the courtyard is filled with hammocks and chairs for guests to lounge in. we were not far from any of the attractions in town. we would recommend that other travellers stay here.

Great location. Best hotel for the price ”
We stayed at the Sparrows nest for almost 2 weeks. We were there for the Loi Krathong festival. This hotel is connected to there other much nicer hotel and we has use of all of there amenities. Lots of hot water, clean rooms, strong AC, and very good location. The internet in the room does not work very well but you can sit in the main hotels garden or restaurant and use their WiFi. They even let you bring your own drinks to the courtyard. Best place we stayed in Chiang Mai.

What a gem!”
I had an amazing stay at the Sparrows Nest. Booked for 2 nights, stayed for 5. The staff (the guest-house is actually run by the boutique luxury Duang Champa hotel) are friendly and accommodating, with rooms cleaned daily. Bathrooms for the standard rooms are shared, however are very clean. The guest-house (and Duang Champa hotel) both have great chill out spaces outdoors with free wi-fi.

Clean and Cozy GH”
the location of the guest house is very great which is in the middle of old city, it is behind a hotel called duang champa with the same reception. the famous massage chain shop named lila is beside the gh, a travel agency is just beside the gh with reasonable price. we enjoyed to stay there in two days, the gh provided two bottles of water every day, the breakfast is great too, especially the omelette.

excellent location!”
i should this guest house because of its location, and it's very convenience for visiting the old town. the guest house is the back-house of villa duangchampa, a very nice small hotel. the hosts are very friendly. the breakfast are refined and good value, the wholemeal bread is my favourite. only one disadvantage of the room is easy to hear the noise from the hotel car park which adjusted to the house. i had been waken up during the night when the others guest come in very late.

Welcomed with a bottle of cold water.”
Don't look for Sparrows Nest, but look out for 'Villa Duang' as this is where you have to check in. We were greeted with a bottle of chilled water (nice touch). We were staying in the budget rooms which are at the rear of Villa Duang. They didn't look much from the outside, but were very clean and tidy, apart from the small hole in the bathroom ceiling. There were 2 bottles of water in the fridge too. Our only complaint, which isn't really the hotels fault, were our noisy neighbours. It would appear that there is little or no sound proofing between the bathrooms, so we could here there converstions well until after 1am on the first night, fortunately, I think they must have checked out on our second night, as it was much quieter. I think for a budget room with no breakfast, it was a little overpriced, there is a lot of chepaer accommodation around, but it is good to have a base for the first day or 2 to get your bearings and find the cheaper option if you are in a budget. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food, every other place is somewhere to eat!

Lovely hotel and great staff”
I loved my stay at Sparrow 'Nest. The staff make sure that all was well and they were very kind all the time. The location was ideal for me, right in the center of the Old City, near the main temples and at night was fairly quiet. In the hotel there are yoga classes at a very reasonable price and the teacher is excellent, I recommend seriously to participate.

Great location and staff!”
We enjoyed our stay at Sparrow's Nest, and decided to stay another night! The location was great as it is within the walled city, and on the same street at the Saturday night market. The rooms however are situated behind another hotel (hard to find at night) and the construction of the roof in the bathroom was a bit sketchy (plastic sheet). However, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the price!

Nice room, great spot”
Located up a small laneway, The Sparrows Nest is actually a small collection of two roomed houses that are owned by a more pricey hotel at the front. The rooms are basic but fine. It's a shared bathroom/shower but while i was there i had the place to myself. There's a very nice garden area for relaxing after a long day temple spotting which has some nice hanging chairs etc. It's in the middle of the old town so close to all the temples and night life. The sunday walking street is literally on it's doorstep also. All in all i was very happy with my stay here

Very convenient location, dark but clean rooms”
the guest house is located in the back of a fancier hotel. the location is perfect for enjoying the sunday walking street market and other attractions around chiang mai. the rooms are not really suitable for spending much time in, but are perfectly comfortable for sleeping and other basic needs. the bed was clean and comfortable, and the staff from the hotel up front was very friendly and kind.

Quiet and peaceful”
Stayed here for 4 nights. Since i arrived late at the hotel, around 12.00am, i couldn;t find the counter to check me in because the reception is located at Duang Champa, a hotel right next door with the same owner. Luckily some kind french tourist who stayed here guided me to the reception and since then, everything was fine. The room was big for two person, fan room is just nice for winter season. Located in a quite alley but within few steps, you are on the main road in the old city. Wlaking distance to tapae gate is abt 10 min, so everything was fine, compared to places in night bazaar where everything seems so busy and noisy. Overall, was a good place to relax after a tired day out.
