fun, exciting, awsome”
Koh Chang Bailan Beach Resort is a beautiful hotel for staying with all sorts of comforts & adventure. Staff of the hotel is really helpful and friendly, moreover they know English very well so you won't be facing any problem. They have a beautiful beach though u cannot swim as it is rocky but they offer kayaks for free so you can definitely enjoy kayaking. And the area around the beach is just amazing. You can have a flavor of nature, beach and sunbath. Lonely beach is just 100 m away with the white sand. The room was comfortable but there was problem with the bathrooms as they were choking. Food is not a problem with either vegetarians or non-vegetarians as there are some nice restaurants nearby and the hotel food is also good. Bang bao fisherman village is just 3 Km from the hotel and you can also find a hospital nearby in case of any mishap. For any water sports, trekking etc. you can ask the hotel staff they will make arrangement for you. For moving around the island you can rent bikes from the hotel itself.

Beautiful relaxing friendly place”
The Bailan Beach Resort is a gem of a place to stay. Well away from the over developed resorts of Lonely Beach and Whitesands, it’s peaceful and run by exceptionally friendly and efficient people, who really do know how to cater for guests. We stayed in one of the garden view bungalows, which was fine, and even had a view of the sea, as it was in the second row. It was perfectly comfortable, air conditioned, and had an adequate bathroom. They have a lovely new pool area now, which is good, as the sea is not too suitable for swimming, as it has a very stony bottom, but it’s still quite possible when the tide is in. There is a stretch of sand as well, and plenty of hammocks, sun beds and deck chairs. The restaurant is good too, plenty of choice on the menu, and even better, the food is served piping hot, which is quite unusual. We had mainly Thai food, but I did have a burger and chips once and it was delicious. We were so pleased and relieved to have booked The Bailan Beach Resort, as none of the other places we saw looked nearly as good.

Cool place to stay but..”
Mostly Bailan Beach Resort meet my requirements and its offering what has been described in offer. The stuff is really friendly, bungalows where we stayed was located in beautiful garden, food in restaurant was pretty good. But We found some cons, which are not clearly described in offer or could be improved: 1. Furnitures in bungalows are old fashioned and should be replaced by new one (flat tv is maybe not must have, but furniture was damaged and looks bad); 2. Beach on photos is not the same what we get when we arrived - lots of stones, water far from shore so its not possible to take a bath comfortable here. If you want bath - you have to transfer to Lonely Beach which is around 5 minutes by motorbike; 3. Localisation is good for people, which are looking for peaceful vacations within hotel and swimming pool. If you are looking for more - you have to travel by car or motorbike somewhere else. But if above cons are not a problem for you - Bailan Beach Resort is good place to stay.

Love this place”
We stayed here 6years ago when my daughter was just 2 years old. We came back after staying Kae Bai which was too busy for my liking. Great pool, very friendly and helpful staff, food good, beach is okay, gardens beautifully peaceful. The only downside the internet is a bit sporadic (but it was great to get away form the phone and ipads) and the noise of the duff duff duff travelling faintly over from Lonely Beach for some of the huts at the front at night. Other than that idyllic. Thank you Bailan Beach.

Beautiful hotel!”
we really enjoyed the bailan beach resort on koh chang. although located a bit further away from most restaurants and the beach, we rented motorbikes and really enjoyed cruising around the island during the day and coming home to a quieter hotel. staff is very sweet, breakfast is simple but good. rooms will well-functioning ac. there is a nightclub type restaurant fairly close to the sea view bungalows whose music can be loud, but generally seems to close up early.

Value for money”
i stayed two days at koh chang bailan beach resort and had a good time. the sea-view bungalow was quite big and most importantly clean. the resort is nicely set up with a beautiful garden. the staff is friendly and service minded, something that is often lacked at other hotels. it is recommended to have your own transportation (car or rented motorbike) to explore koh chang's beautiful beaches.

Excellent place to stay!”
Compared to the price, the quality of Bailan Beach Resort was very high. Clean, quiet and romantic location. Staff were incredibly helpful, approachable and generous with their time. The breakfast was tasty and ample, and the restaurant was far higher quality than those in the nearby town of Lonely Beach. We enjoyed the free kayak and snorkel rental. The beach was a little sharp-stoned, but there is an on-site swimming pool and it is so nice to be beside the beach all the same. Recommended.

A place that i wont forget”
What an amazing place! this resort is really one of the best deal in Koh Chang if you want calm and rest... it is located a little far from the main cities, but the place is really nice, calm and amazing! The staff was really nice and smiling, they take a good care of me and my friends. We also ate at the resort restaurant and the food was really good, not the best thai food but still really good. The girls that work at the resort are smiling and nice, and beautiful as well... One of them was liking me a lot i guess, she was a little shy every time I ask for something, but i just made fun of it with the others, and we laugh a lot... The view from the swimming pool is amazing, sea view, with coconut trees... the sunset view was just superb ! The room was quite big for me alone, the bathroom was very nice as well... very clean... just perfect !!! I will come back in this hotel for sure...

The best quality price resort in the area”
Superb! Especially comparing to other resorts around the island, we were so happy to have chosen Bailan Beach resort and highly recommend to our friends & family. The staff were very friendly & dealt with problems very promptly which was much appreciated. The special little touches of the towel arrangements with our childrens teddy bears for example showed the staff go beyond just doing their work, but really care about their guests. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable.

Peaceful paradise close enough to civilisation”
Bailan beach resort was a great 5 days! The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a junior suite for the first night as our room was not ready. This was a great touch although we did love our superior bungalow! The room was cleaned to an excellent standard each day. The place is so peaceful and relaxed, we loved it. The restaurant was decent for lunch and dinner but lonely beach is just a 15 minute walk if you need civilisation!

Sunsets make up for any shortcomings”
Koh Chang Bailan Beach is located at the southern end of Koh Chang, a long way south of the ferry terminal and takes about 45 minutes to reach by car, despite being only 20 or so road kilometres, because of the mountain ranges and never-ending tourists on mopeds. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly check-in staff. Our beach-view room was far away from the reception/restaurant/pool as possible which was slightly off-putting. The room was fairly appointed and had air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The downsides to the room (that seemed common to all rooms) are the slightly run-down bathrooms and sliding terrace doors that don't close fully. This is a problem as mosquitoes (which were noticeably prevalent after sunset) can easily find their way into your room. The television in our room wasn't able to receive any channels, and after a call to reception and a visit from maintenance, we had a brand new TV delivered and installed within half an hour. A credit to the hotel. Meals from the restaurant were of good quality, however the selection of food in the breakfast buffet was not as wide as I would have expected for the price of the room (certainly when compared to other similarly-priced properties). The infinity pool overlooks beautifully laid-out palm-filled gardens and the ocean. The pool is welcome relief as the beach the resort is situated on is very rocky and unsuitable for swimming. The views over the beach and surrounding islands are amazing and only get better as the sunlight fades. I should also mention the wonderful staff who went out of their way to help us get our car started after leaving the headlights on overnight.

Great resort, Great prices, Great views and Fantas”
We decided to stay here as part of our honeymoon trip and what a great choice it was. We got there at night and initially we thought... oh no we are in the middle of nowhere, but we were made to feel so welcome on our arrival. As we were on our honeymoon and it was out of season they offered us an upgrade but we stuck with our initial choice of the beachfront bungalow. The view was amazing, we opened our curtains to a sea view everyday. The upgrade was nicer and more modern inside but lacked the view. The food was great, and really cheap. We had shakes throughout the day and beers by night along with most of our meals on resort and we were very pleasantly suprised at our bill at the end of our stay. The guy was so helpful, he arranged our boat to Koh Wai along with a taxi pick up and even booked our next guesthouse over the phone as we only had a number for them. We rented bikes from them for a day at the same rate as anywhere else and went to explore the island. Wireless is intermittent but works fine, bit of a weak signal in the waterfront bungalows. The resort is not located in a town but we walked to lonely beach in around 15 mins and Bailan is just up the road all though not much there. Taxis are VERY cheap though. Try the coconut shakes! They are amazing! - shame they didnt have malibu

Beautiful spot away from the crowds”
We wanted a quiet place. The noisy bars of White Sands and Lonely Beaches were not for us. Bailan Beach Resort fit the bill. It is not fancy, but it is clean. The rooms are a fine size for two people -- we were three, so adding an extra mattress made it quite cozy, but it worked. The rooms don't have screens, so getting fresh air isn't easy if you want to avoid mosquitos, but I don't think that's unusual based on other places we've stayed. The staff is wonderful! Everyone was so nice and helpful. The restaurant has a large menu and everything we had during our stay was tasty. The breakfast buffet (included) was also good with both Western and Asian items. The beach is rocky, so you'll want to go elsewhere to swim. We walked to Lonely Beach, but you can also take a taxi. Sunset views are great. This is a simple, affordable, relaxing place. We enjoyed it very much.

Amazing hotel, with great staff.”
the bailan beach resort was our first pick and it turned out to be a great choice. the location might be a bit far south, so you need either a motorbike (which bailan rents out) or a car to get around. however, most of the time we were hanging around the pool or play with the kids on the beach. they also provide free kayaks to explore the nearby lonely beach. the bungalow was spacious, clean, big veranda and a comfortable bed. the wi fi was strong and worked very well, even in the bungalows. the only negative point is the breakfast. the options they give you is rather poor and the ham and sausages of not great quality. for a resort which charges night you could expect more. we never ate there, so we don't know how the food for lunch/dinner. all in all highly recommended.

Exceptional service in dire circumstances ”
My BF and I were there just as Covid19 hit a fever pitch (no pun intended...) We were LITERALLY the ONLY guests at the resort our last 3 days. The staff went far and above the call of duty to ensure that we still managed to enjoy our stay to the best of their abilities in the worst of circumstances. Food was always great. Prices (for Koh Chang) we’re reasonable. Walking distance to several other restaurants/bars/local markets. Wish the beach was sandier. Very rocky part of the island. But, truly, the best staff ever. We wish them all the best as they will be hurt most by the economic fallout from this virus.

Nice Place, friendly People”
The Bailan Beach Resort has very friendly Staff. The Bungalows are spacious and quiet. They have nice hammocks for relax in the evening. Swimming in the Sea is difficult because of the stones. The breakfast is ok, the food you can order for lunch or dinner is much better but still very reasonable priced.

Second time in this beach resort. ”
our second time here was as successful as our first although the resort has expanded and has more rooms and a larger restaurant. the staff are friendly and helpful as ever. the new rooms (not bungalows) are very spacious, quiet and comfortable although not all have a good sea view as we had on the upper floor. the restaurant serves cheap good meals although the breakfast selection is poor and mostly cold and the constant loud music at breakfast time is annoying. recommend this place for all ages who like peace and quiet and are prepared to use taxi or rent a moped to good nearby beaches and more lively areas.you can swim at bailan but the beach is small and water is murky.

Beautiful setting, laid-back atmosphere, not many ferang”
The hotel is situated in a shallow, very rocky bay. Tons of reviews tell potential guests they won't be able to swim here -- so I'd ignore the reviews of anyone who complains about this. True, you can't swim, but the vista is amazing. My best day was spent at the waters edge on a very nice and comfortable lounge chair, sleeping, reading and looking at the lush jungle and mountain to the side of me and the beautiful water in front of me -- absolutely stunning at sunset. The bungalows were comfortable but not great. At this price point, who should complain. And, remember, I'd disregard the writers who complain about some bugs or a lizard scurrying down the side of the wall. First, you're in nature -- that's where bugs and lizards live and you're in a self contained unit not in a large mega hotel. To those complaining about bugs on this site I wish you many happy travels at Holiday Inns in Phuket or Patttaya -- or in Omaha. Again, gang, at this price point, a couple of ants and a lizard in the morning ain't gonna kill you. Many Thais vacationed here, though there were a handful of ferang who were very quiet. If you've traveled much in Thailand, it's always wonderful to have an opportunity to interact with vacationing Thais and to be around westerners who know how to act properly in someone else's country. I found that to be the case here. The staff was awesome -- very friendly and helpful and of course reserved in the way many Thais are. They all try to speak English -- the lead at the desk speaks it particularly well. I've read a few reviews on this and other sites suggesting that a resting spot using the word "resort" ought to have English speaking staff. Hmmm. . . Again, ferang, at this price point, be happy that you have a clean beautiful place to stay and that you might just have to struggle through a few hand gestures to get what you want. You're paying a few bucks, but Thais in this part of the country are learning English through the she
