Great week at Baankaew ”
We spent a week in Chaing Mai and at Baankaew. It's a great guesthouse, friendly English speaking staff, very clean and amazing location. It was also one of the best beds we had in Thailand! Really good value for money.

Three nights in Chiang Mai”
The place is not new but very well kept. The double bedded rooms are on the ground floor whereas the twin beds on the upper floor. Ample parking, the entire estate in a quiet park environment. Anusarn food night market as well as the Chiang Mai night bazaar are in walking distance and tuk-tuks are passing by at any given time of the day while they cannot be heard in the rooms. Barking dogs of neighbours are a nuisance; the owners are aware but helpless so ear plugs can come in handy if you cannot stand barking canines. Another point is the time-slots in the mornings and afternoon, when the access road is converted to one-way. Specially in the afternoon getting back to the hotel means traffic jams while leaving the hotel to the Southern part of town a generous detour. Both are beyond the control or influence by the owners; I would be staying with them anytime again.

Wonderful garden & calm”
We passed a very pleasent stay at Baan Kaew! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned every day and there is a green and calm garden surrounding the guesthouse. I would choose it again!!!

Pleasant and Friendly”
I would absolutely recommend the guesthouse. It was a welcome respite after days spent sightseeing. The staff was friendly and you could see the very good rapport there was with the other guests. Not a party place. Intermittent Internet, but otherwise very good.

Lovely guest house”
We stayed at the Baankaew Guest House for 7 nights and enjoyed it very much. It was in a quiet location with a lovely garden to relax in but easily walkable into the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Quiet oasis near all the sights”
We stayed here during Songkran 2014 and it was perfect! We were able to escape the parties to this nice, quiet guesthouse. Highly recommend!

Great value for money”
The place was a pleasant surprise, considering how little we paid. Front desk staff were very helpful, a refreshing change from hotel staff in southern Thailand beach resorts. Bedroom and bathroom were clean when we first got in and the cleaning staff kept them that way for the next 3 days.

SIlent,comfortable”
I'm really glad that I chose this place to stay.It's on the good lacation,comfortable,silent,friendly staff.I felt like I want to stay there for months. The only problem was that Wifi was so spotty in the room,so I had to go to the lobby to get the stable Wifi.Other than that,the place was so great!I bring my family with me next time.

Great place for a short stay”
I enjoyed my stay. The Guesthouse is inexpensive and unpretentious. Everything works. It is not too far from the the old town and was well located for my work. Staff are great - diligent, helpful, kind. I happily recommend this guesthouse to other travellers.

Tranquil place”
I liked everything about this place! Nice rooms, good kind service, next day delivery with laundry. Their food is good, and they make fresh coffee. The location is good, within walking distance of the nightmarket. Can not really think of anything i missed, this place was good value, and a place I would recommend, and stay again!

Very clean, very quiet, great price”
I paid 800 baht ($25US) per night. Own room, own bathroom, great towels and sheets. Cleaner than places I stayed for twice that amount. Can walk to market, coffee shops, bars in less than 10 minutes. Breakfast eggs, toast, bacon, coffee for a little over 100 baht. Costs about same as a hostel with shared bedroom and bath.

comfortable hotel on the edge of city centre”
We needed two nights in a cheapish hotel during songkran and this was one of the few cheap well rated ones. Just outside the city centre, in very quiet garden. Would stay again.

Lovely place to stay”
If you want a quite relaxing atmosphere this is the place to stay. not to far from the night market and it has a beautiful garden. it doesn't feel like you are in the city. The owners are really friendly and has a good level of english. Also a small restaurant on site with a western style breakfast available. We will always go back there. they offer day tours as well. just all round good place to stay.

Quiet haven, helpful staff”
What makes this hotel very special is that in a noisy city it is surrounded by lawn and trees and the spacious verandahs. The staff on the front desk were most helpful whenever we needed advice.

best to show up and book a room as opposed to booking online because it will be cheaper. a first for me to have that happen. maybe call ahead to be sure there is a room available but don't book online.

Peaceful haven”
Very quiet, with cold A/C and warm staff :) Easy to get to all town attractions. HIghly recommended. The only thing that it would need to make it perfect would be a swimming pool :)
