Amazing stay with wonderful people”
Our stay at Ban Chunsongsang was absolutely fabulous! Nong, her husband Koko and the rest of her family and staff were always thinking about your comfort and interests. You were always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. Our family showed up very early as our train arrived in Chiang Mai at 7 am. Our rooms weren't ready as other guests still occupied them, but Nong graciously had another room prepared for us to rest in until our rooms were ready. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were offered as we arrived and we were informed they were free for the taking during the entire stay! Mini fridges were stocked daily with soda, beer and water at a pittance of a cost. Everything is provided for you here at the homestay. Meals, drinks, scooters, bikes, carving classes, laundry, fishing, beautiful gardens, and concierge service. If you just want to stay and relax it's all you need. However, both the village and Chiang Mai have much to offer and worth the adventuring. Don't worry about getting into town. Nong has a terrific nine passanger van with reasonable rates. Don't miss Da's Thai cooking classes that Nong can set up for you. My kids and I learned authentic Thai cooking in a beautifully rustic and authentic setting. You'll love it! We stayed over Christmas and we were served a traditional Northern Thai dinner that took the cooks all day to make. Nong sat with us to explain the origins of the food and how they are made. It was all so interesting, delicious and far too much food for us to eat. After the meal, we launched khom loi or floating lanterns for a perfect end to an unforgettable evening. We had such a wonderful stay that my husband felt we weren't charged enough for what we had received. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to get out of the city and wanting to experience a truer Thai lifestyle. Thank you again Nong and Koko for an experience that will be impossible to forget. Love the Tweedie-Pitre family!

Peaceful, relaxing and the friendliness of the owners”
Ban Chun song sang is a family run Home Stay. We “husband, wife and 3 year old kid” stayed here many times during the last year and a half exploring Chiang Mai and its surroundings. We lived in the south east of Thailand and would like to move to the north so we have been here several times. Away from the crowded city center, this is the perfect place to relax and plenty of room for your kids. There are 3 choices where you can stay, the bamboo hut, the wooden hut and a larger wooden house which is called the 2 bedroom home. The views from each accommodation is great and make you feel relaxed and away from the crowd. They are all kept very clean and each accommodation has it’s own character, we really liked the shower from the 2 bedroom home which is just awesome. The owners, which speak very good English are very friendly, helpful and you always feel welcome. You can have some interaction with the other guests in the common area where there is the possibility to enjoy some complimentary coffee and tea. There are free bikes available and if there is anything else you may need the hosts are more than happy to help you out. In today hotel environment this is truly unusual and is certainly welcome. You can choose your complimentary breakfast, try their french toast, just delicious. Every hut and house has it’s own fridge and complimentary bottled water. In the common area you can also order great Thai and western food, as i say, the perfect area to chill out. The Home Stay has it’s own laundry and shuttle service and you can book all your tours over here. It’s also worth to check out the local village markets.

Excellent Homestay”
The hosts, Nong and Koko, at Ban Chunsongsang are friendly, informative and always available if needed, whilst allowing us to do our own thing and 'chill' in our 'teak house' set in lovely gardens in a relaxed village just outside of Chiang Mai. Koko suggested trips to a few of the local markets, even taking us there himself on two trips and giving us an informal market tour while sharing breakfast. The meals available at the homestay were prepared fresh onsite and the free breakfast menu had plenty of options. A day trip back into Chiang Mai was easily arranged with Da who runs a Thai cooking school just up the road - and the afternoon cooking course was excellent.

Amazing Koko!”
We stayed in Ban Chunsongsang for 10 nights in our SouthEast long trip. Everything was perfect, especially the kindness and hospitality of Koko s family. For 10 nights we payed 130 euro (breakfast included). Bicycle was free and motorbike was 250 bath p/day. Koko is a perfect guide for the Chiang Mai zone and for the North of Thailand. If you need help she surely will give you an hand. Wonderful experience!!

Best of the best!”
My wife and I with our 3 children (10,8,5) stayed here for a week. We weren't sure if we wanted to stay in the city or the village, but decided to try out Ban Chunsongsang due to the high reviews, and it was the best decision. Mrs. Nong and her husband run the wonderfully warm and inviting homestay. They have excellent information on local cultural events as well as the mainstream excursions. They lend out bikes, provide transportation, have a delicious breakfast (included) and restaurant. The village itself is a gem since it has maintained its local Thai charm. I cannot wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene, warm, and unique Thai experience!

We wish we could have stayed longer ”
Koko and Nong the hosts are some of most kind, generous and hospitable people we have met! They made sure we are happy and very well looked after! The accommodations are very clean and well organized, before arriving to Ban Chunsongsang we thought we were roughing it up but not at all it's very comfortable and all our need were met and far exceeded our expectations! Its so nice to wake up to the orchestra of birds in the morning. We are traveling with our one year old toddler and he was very happy to be there! The hosts brought toys for him to play with. We took a cooking class at Da's farm next door and really enjoying that experience. We also went for a bike ride around the village and surrounding nature had a great time. I highly recommend staying here and would love to visit again! Thank you Nong and Koko!

A taste of village life and hospitality”
This homestay is very special. We stayed five nights and enjoyed our wooden two bed room house on stilts very much. The rooms are clean and simple with fans and mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The outdoor (though private) bathroom was a delight especially in the warm rain. The hosts were wonderful, friendly, generous and genuine and we felt very welcome at all times. The kids enjoyed the free bicycles and the hammocks and we enjoyed being in the countryside surrounded by rice fields. We took advantage of several things on offer at the homestay - Da's Thai cooking lesson was incredible and the results delicious. The kids did some wood painting and we also had a massage in our rooms. The prices are reasonable and a simple breakfast is included. The homestay is not in town but Nong, the lovely owner, was happy to arrange transport according to our needs. Also, with the activities we booked (elephant sanctuary and zipline adventures) the transport is included in the package. Some evenings we used uber to get back to the village. It is around 20-30 mins into town but once we'd visited Chiang Mai town itself we were happy to not stay there as the village was much more peaceful and not touristy. Be prepared for rooster wake ups! Thank you Nong and your team for a wonderful stay.

Highly recommendable. A little piece of heaven on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. ”
A beautiful hut in the middle of nature, a short distance drive from Chiang Mai. Transport provided by the homestay every minute of the day you wish. Also airport and railway station pick up and drop off. An amazing experience for my two boys (12 and 14) and me. We spent 4 nights wth Nong and her family, left for a two days jungle trek recommended by her, and came back. It's easy to communicate, Nong her English is very good, she is more than helpful with whatever you ask or need. Great food, a big family driven homestay. You feel welcome and at home from the moment you first arrive. A must-stay when you consider visiting northern Thailand. If we're going back to Thailand we'll definately come back to Nong, her lovely family and their great wooden houses on stilts!

Homestay at peace and comfort of home ”
This is family trip. We planned 2 nights in Chiang Mai and another 2 nights in Chiang Rai. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai and located the hotel, our first impression of the location and neighbourhood, is this a big mistake? Well.. upon meeting the owner, Ms Nong, we know it's the right choice. We were very impressed by her personal attention to our every needs. The place is very well maintained, clean and neat. Peaceful at night with all the natural sound of insects, crickets etc. We love the place and it's peaceful environment. Ms Nong patience and sincere effort in helping us to make our travelling plans is just outstanding. She even accompanied us for the rest of our trip and only say goodbye at Chiang Rai airport. That's the all out effort she made to ensure we enjoyed this trip. It's definitely a memorable one.

Wonderful homestay in a peaceful village ”
Our family loved our stay with Nong and Coco’s family. They picked us up from Chiang Mai (complimentary) and drove us 30 minutes to their family homestay which is located in a lovely little village towards Doi Saket mountain. The warm and welcoming hospitality of Nong and her family is a special asset to this guest house. We stayed in their two bedroom family house which is in rustic Thai style, with a really cool modern outside bathroom. We decided to extend our stay to three nights, and we enjoyed all of our time at Nong’s guest house. There are only three cottages here so the experience was very peaceful and relaxing. The free bikes (in all sizes) were a hit with our children, and we spent many happy hours exploring the surrounding sites and villages thanks to a detailed map provided by Nong. The free breakfasts were varied and delicious. We also ate lunch and dinner here every day, the food was wonderful and so cheap at 20-50 baht per dish. Special thanks to Dang also.

Wonderful getaway”
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay here; they were some of the best during our Thailand vacation. The host, Nong, and her family were extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing seemed too much of a problem and they ensured that our stay was unforgettable. Although the homestay is a few Km's outside Chiang Mai city, the location is fantastic and worth exploring - this is a breeze with the use of a scooter or bicycle provided by Nong. We had a fabulous time here and we will be returning.

a small peacefull haven right outside chiang may”
We were so lucky to find this little hotel. The bungalows are very nice and clean. But the best is the family that runs this place, they are so friendly and helpfull and try to fulfill every wish you have. If you are looking for a small, quiet little haven outside of chiang may that still has the unique kindness of thai people and is located in a small village were you are the only tourist.... This is the place. We booked for 5 nights and we even added 3 extra days because we were so happy here.

Exceptional”
We stayed for 9 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The trip got off to a flying start when we were met at the airport by Nong who welcomed us with a friendly smile. The rustic teak hut quickly began to feel like our home which we were glad to return to it at the end of the day to spend time on the veranda enjoying the breeze and the lush green environment. It was relaxing to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of birds, insects and farm animals. We ate in most evenings, the food was delicious, well priced and we were made to feel like a welcomed family member. At the end of our stay we were dropped back to the airport finishing off a true homestay where we were well cared for and left wanting to come back again one day.

peaceful and kind service”
I was first pick up at the airport by Nong the owner. My Bamboo hut was clean and ready when i arrived .My goal was to get to know the Thai culture and to visit the surending of Chiang Mai by bicycle.Every evening Nong would give me all the details i needed for the next day trip. She gave me a bicycle free of charge.Koko her husband took me to the village handicraft people, local markets. He also took me to their local temple where i really got to see and appreciate their Thai culture.I was welcome by everyone of the village and it was very special moment of my trip.I also loved the food that Nong and her family cooked. It is Thai but not spicy or they can cook it more spicy on demand.I also rented a scooter to visit a beautiful national park that Nong recommended me to see.In summary i really appreciated the high level of attention delivered by Nong ,Koko and the rest of their family.,and with a very kind and gracious attitude.I can't wait to book another vacation to this place next year

Vegan Friendly and comfortable stay!”
We had a very nice stay, although just for one day. The room is spacious and private, simple yet systematically furnished. The people running the homestay are extremely warm and friendly. The restaurant has a vegan option for every dish on the menu, which was a welcome change. The only problem was our check in time was taken too casually. We were given the keys to our room only at 6pm vs the 9am check- in time mentioned on the website. They also have lots of options for planning everyday activities like adventure trips or Trek and free Bike rentals. Overall a wonderful Stay.

Amazing oasis outside of Chiang Mai”
The Homestay is simply incredible. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel, this is not for you. However, it was very comfortable, clean, and the gardens are an oasis of relaxation! The Garden Hut has a very nice veranda, and the main house has hammocks and chairs to relax outside. Noong was incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful, and she has thought of every small detail to make her guests feel at home and welcome. Highly recommend!

Amazing family. Amazing Homestay”
Everything others said that praised it , it's exactly that . I have never stayed at a homestay. Your first thought would be that you would be in their way or they would be in your way. But that's not true at all they take care of their responsibilities to you and leave you alone to enjoy your vacation. They make you feel Special always willing to help when when the need arises. Free bike rental . Moto bike rental low cost. Delicious meals a very low cost and free breakfast. The family goes far beyond her responsibilities . I asked about kno sio paste and where to find it to take back to America and that very same day owner brought me many packages I was honored,no charge .All just in their will to want to help their guest . Massage service come to your room .You would not be disappointed, Rashid
