A great find in an awesome location ”
This hotel is a gem! The staff are totally awesome, especially Wang who helped us plan our days, locate train stations and even booked us tickets to an acrobat show! The front desk staff had a good level of English and were willing to help out with any request. We had a room with a private bathroom, it was a good size and very clean.

Cute Inn in a Hutong!”
Wouldn't go any other way. Puremind was very welcoming and it has very helpful staff for me who cannot speak Mandarin. The room was very cute and it was spacious enough! The design is just simply lovable. Will definitely go back if I ever visit Beijing again.

Hotel location can be a bit difficult to find as it is located inside a hutong. Subway station is not far away from the hotel. Overall experience is good. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

Good location and staff, but had a bad night sleep”
The location is good, staff is very attentive, but the soundproof is really bad, you can heard your people's steps passing by, the door shut, even your neighbor flush the toilet and taking shower,not a good choice for a light sleeper. Also the A.C is central a.c system which is not adjustable, feeling super hot the whole time when we staying.

The room's heating seems to be not working when we were there during winter so the room was extremely cold, especially the toilet. But the hotel itself is quite beautiful, although not quite worth the money

Good Location in Old Hutong Beijing”
Good location and easy to find, near to subway. No issue checking in late at 3am midnight. Room is a bit small. Toilet looks a bit muddy.

Good in Location Only but smelly place”
I have 4 night stay in this hotel. It is near to Subway Station Dongsi and outside the area already have shop for food, cloth & etc which convenience for us to walk around at night. Mcd and KFC is nearby and also hypermarket is in walking distance. However, the downside of this hotel is the ventilation and the sewerage system not good where make our two room and the main door have serious smell. Besides, the cleanliness especially the toilet need to be improve a lot. Understand this hotel is inside Hutong, so along the road you may not comfortable but still acceptable for me.

Firstly we were given the wrong room (the cheaper one of course), after I pointed on it we ended up in the correct one. We had a room on the ground floor with huge windows, no wardrobe, only small hanger so literally there is no place to keep your clothes in. Super tiny bathroom. They change your towels every day even when your towel is nicely hanging, even if it hasn't been used. They provide the toothbrush and change it every day too! It just doesn't make a sense to me. They could rather save money (and a planet!) by not changing it until it is not necessary (until guest asks for it) and rather use that saved money on breakfast option because breakfast was ... , I have never said about the food that it is disgusting, but unfortunately, it was very close to it. Breakfast staff doesn't speak english, which, taking into consideration you are in China, is fair enough however at least one smile would be highly appreciated. Unwelcoming place, we stayed 3 nights, do not recommend.

It is quite a distance to train station. The aircorn in the room is not functioning. It is totally a hot corn. The temporature in the room is even more worst that outside. They just add an additional fan when I told the staff about the problem. I'm staying 4 night there. Only the first night the air corn are function.

Very nice hotel, super friendly staff”
We visited Beijing for a wedding and spent 10 nights at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Nothing fancy but good quality. The ambiance of the hotel and the location in the midst of a hutong are very nice: walking distance to Forbidden City and other must-see-spots. All staff are very friendly and especially the receptionists are wonderful: interested and supportive, and most of them speak English very well. We warmly recommend the Beijing 161 Wangfujing Courtyard Hotel.

Ok stay, very oily breakfast, nice Hutong location”
The Beijing 161 Wangfujing Courtyard Hotel is well located, only a 15 minute cab to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. What is really special about its accommodation is its characteristic Hutong setting which allows you to really immerse yourself in everyday Beijing local life style. Every day as we would walk out of the hotel through the Hutong you were surrounded by neighboring locals going on with their day. I believe that staying in a Hutong is a much more rewarding experience than staying at a fancy 5 star hotel on one of the main streets since the Hutong allows you to time travel and experience a much more ‘real’ China. In terms of the hotel’s service its ok - the staff were nice and helpful except for one instance on our last day - they said they would order us a cab for the airport and when there weren’t any cabs available they did not seem to care (Even though we were going to miss our flight). We had to leave the hotel and hail a cab on the street.

Located in a lively hutong. There is another 161 hotel nearer to the main road but this 161 is a brand new one with courtyard design. There is breakfast in the hutong. Near to train station dongsi. Everything was ok except for the attitude of the staff here. When I first stood at the front desk, I was instructed (rudely) that I have to stay 1 night in an upgraded room, and the other 2 nights in the room type I booked. After a few questions and answers then we realize that they are having problems with the room I booked. The previous client extended their stay and occupied the room which was supposed to be mine. It's ok, in the end, they had it sorted out. But I guess a simple explanation without "rude instructions" may change my view. After that, I decided to extend my stay to avoid the hassle of moving huge luggage around. We initially talked to a young nice guy and he made the arrangement. Later I went to the counter to reconfirm on this, the other guy told me a different price for the room, but hey your colleague mentioned there is a promotional price? and he rudely replied me, "I am the manager, he is just a worker." I walked out from the hotel and met the nice young guy at the front door, we reconfirm that the room is on promotion price. All in all, i would say, if you are working in a hospitality sector, please be nice.

Stayed here for 4 nights while we toured Beijing. Nice area of town with so much of the sights within walking distance. Stayed in a room with 2 beds tha5 had a window looking into the restaurant/flower shop. Was noisy durin* the day but always got quiet around 9 every night so sleeping was great. Staff were very accommodating and spoke English so that helped us adjust to the area. If you are looking for a good clean place at a reasonable price and close to metro and walking to Wangfujing st this is perfect. Yes the walk down the alley makes you wonder but no worries, china is safe everywhere at all times.

It is a quiet hutong stay and with old Beijing culture, it is just slightly away from the main street but let you away of the traffic sound, it was a cozy comfortable 5 nights stay over there, will definitely come back here if I visit Beijing again.

Occasionally you may disturb by neighborhood as it is in hutong because the neighbouring houses are back to back. Not easy to find by using google.map . Suggest to hotelier to put up a easy location map.in booking.com photo section.

We enjoyed our stay in a loft family room. Good wifi and hot shower. The location was close to Dongsi subway station which allowed easy access to all of Beijing by metro. We walked easily to Wangfujing Street. The onsite restaurant provided a good choice for breakfast. Quiet at night. Would stay again.
