This hotel is without elevator. You will need to carry your luggage so make sure it's not too heavy.

Great location, helpful staff”
For hotel stay, I always look for convenience of location. The location is great as close to Qianmen street, the famous Quanjude Peking duck, and also accessible to subway station (Qianmen). You can also choose to walk to Tiananmen if you want as its reachable. There are a lot of restaurants nearby thus its easy to check for dine choices. Just noted that there are only stairs for the hotel, thus you have to carry your belongings upstairs. Its definitely value-for-money. Besides, the staff is helpful. They help to call taxi to the airport in the early morning, take care of luggage and also morning call. For my experience, the staff actually walked up to our room to morning call us which was a surprise to us. I would highly recommended this stay if you are looking for Hutong culture experience. Keep up the good work!

Great Location, but hard to find”
You have to kind of know where you are going to find this little gem of a hotel. It's off Meishi Jie (Road) on Shijia Hutong (alley). There are other hotels on that alley, so make sure you get the right one. There is a sign in English "Hyde Courtyard" next to the door. This is very close to Qianmen (main gate) so Tian'anmen Square is walking distance, and the Forbidden City is a bit more than 1km away (far walking distance). Plenty of great places nearby to get good food. You can skip the hotel breakfast, because there are many food adventures to be had in the area. The prices are a little on the touristy side near the hotel (but cheap by western standards - $5 for breakfast of steamed buns, soy milk, and fried twisted dough sticks). Venture to the west (other side of Meishi Jie) for some local neighborhood mom-and-pop restaurants w/ cheaper prices. The hotel has hot water issues occasionally, but everything else was fine. It's a funky old building, but cool, and the price is great.

Nice hotel. I would stay there again if I specifically wanted to be in that area.”
The location is quite good (although still a bit of a walk from the metro and not that easy to find if you're quite new to China. The room was quite good and also included a towel and some other toiletries, that's great. The building in itself is a nice, historical building of typical Beijing architecture. The toilet and shower room could have benefited from being renovated, as it was not the best part of the hotel. Because the room was quite good for the price (at least for Beijing) and the overall value for money, I'm happy to overlook this, but is a consideration for those who are a bit particular.. I also stayed in another hotel which didn't have such good rooms but had a better bathroom. Overall, I'm not very fussy and was quite happy with the room and my experience there in general. The area is also historic and nice to visit for tourists.

Ideal budget hotel near Qianmen and Tiananmen Square.”
Location is good, main tourist attractions are within walking distance. Qianmen Pedestrian Street just 100m beside hotel. Only minus point is no lift, anyway hotel has only 2 floors. Wifi need to improve as many pocket areas where signal is poor.

Pleasant stay”
Good location. Convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Old but clean building. Staff helpful though intimidating upon check in. We were asked to open our luggages for them to check. Also the place has no elevator/lift so if your room is on the 3rd floor you'll have to carry your luggages all the way up. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

Good location, easy to get food, staff is good”
Good location - there is a walking street which has many restaurants which you can have dinner/lunch 120rmb/3pax or breakfast ,and there are many convenient stores where you can get water/icescream/titbits, 8 mins walk to ZhuShiKou subway station, less than 8 mins walk to nearest bus stop. Its in hutong(alley) so its quiet here The counter staffs - able to communicate in english They accept credit cards - but the rates by credit cards are not good(as usual) actually better to opt for cash Have toothbrush/toothpaste/combs/hairdryer/shampoo ready, and the room is big and looks new (traditional hutong style) Too bad during my stay, reported of bathroom drainage clog, and not fixed even when we check out - otherwise perfect

Excellent”
Its at very central location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Only thing is that it is an old building and there is no lift so one will have to carry baggage up the staircase.

Great location and value for money”
Location is very good as it is near Grand Palace and two subway stations. Note that they dont have elevator to the second floor so if you’re travelling with big luggages, ask for a first rook floor. Hotel has that heritage charm being a repurposed building.

Very good”
We took two rooms to fit our family into to hotel. The room on the upper floor was beautifully newly renovated and clean. The room on the main level was not and needed work, the floor was coming apart and the décor left a lot to be desired, and we found bugs a couple of evenings. Each room had a queen bed and a single day bed. The queens were quite comfortable but the day beds were really hard and the kids had trouble sleeping on them.

Strategic location, very near to Tian'anmen Square”
Hotel is located just next to the bustling Qianmen Street and surrounded by many restaurants and grocery stores. It's about 1.5km walk to Tian'anmen Square via Qiamen Street and easily accessed by 2 subway stations of different lines. Staff were helpful and cleaners were friendly and greeted us. Overall, this hotel is value for money.

Authentic hotel”
Great location close to two subway stations 5/10 minute walk. Very close to Hutong streets with lots of shops and places to each. Temple of heaven, archery tower and forbidden city all within walking distance max 35 mins. Room was clean however needs updating. Hotel was very nice courtyard style however staff didn’t ever both to acknowledge us or speak to us. You can eat there and also book trips if you need to. I would stay again.
