Did you find this review summary helpful?
Good - 5-minute walk from Wanchai Station - Bus and tram stops to various directions are nearby - Convenience stores, street markets, bars, cafes, etc. are also close - Near the bustling area but set back, so no noise - Quiet at night - Minimal facilities but suitable for just sleeping - Loud air conditioning, but can be turned off - Cleaning can be done if a sign is hung - Coffee, hot water, cold water, and room temperature water are available at the front desk (sometimes there may be shortages) - Front desk staff are pleasant Bad - Space is limited, so can't open a suitcase (was aware of this) - There is an old hairdryer, but only one power outlet in the room (a voltage converter can be borrowed) - Sounds from water and showers in the adjacent room are audible when in use - There is a TV, but local TV and others are not downloaded, so cannot be watched - Some rooms do not have refrigerators, so check during check-in - The bed is too high due to the storage under it, making it dangerous for people with bad legs to climb up, so caution is advised - Although the room is designed efficiently for its small size, if you plan to spend a long time here or want to enjoy meals leisurely in your room, it is better to avoid this place. There is a lack of storage space, which may become stressful. - This time I was on a business trip alone, and the destination was close, so I could be pragmatic about it. - If available, although I booked for single use, upgrades like a double bedroom or higher floor may be possible upon request. - Surrounding areas have street markets and open-air markets, with old buildings like blue shops remaining, allowing for some enjoyable walks around the area.
hello thank you very much for your high score reviews woody house
I stayed for three days on a solo trip. Upon check-in, I was upgraded to a high-floor double room. The room is quite compact, but it has a large window next to the bed that gives a sense of openness. The soundproofing was also no problem, and I was able to sleep comfortably at night. The staff's service was very good. They treated my poor English and Chinese with kindness throughout, and it was impressive how they engaged in light conversation with warmth. When I consulted them about some items I forgot to bring, they kindly lent them to me. The lobby has a drink service, which is a nice point to be able to use easily when going out or returning. The location is within walking distance from Wan Chai Station. There are inclines around the hotel, but the distance is not troublesome if you don't have large luggage. It was also convenient that there is a 7-Eleven and a 24-hour coin laundry within a one-minute walk. One concern was that the room was very small, and the only place to open a large suitcase was almost on the bed. Also, there was no shower curtain between the shower and the toilet, so the toilet would get drenched every time I showered, which was a bit inconvenient. Still, considering the price, it is overall a hotel with very good cost performance. I had a comfortable stay despite the compact space. I would like to use it again when I visit Hong Kong alone.
hello thank you very much for your good reviews. woody house
I had a really good time at Woody House. Staff is super friendly, there is complimentary coffee and water in the entrance area, sometimes special drinks like milk tea on the house, wifi works great, water pressure in the shower is top, I had a big window, and most importantly: it’s clean. I was also impressed by the good noise isolation. Sometimes you hear water running but I didn’t hear other travelers at all. Sure, the rooms are small, but that’s Hong Kong for ya. And you really don’t need more if you plan to be outside all day exploring (or working, like me). I would book again. Def recommend!

Coffee and water are complimentary at reception desk. Place is neat and clean. Washroom is small, but clean. A little expensive, but still got a better deal from the agoda.

“Safe, Clean, Excellent Price - Recommend”
Finding a cheap hotel in Hong Kong feels like an Oxymoron. Especially in a central location. Woody House is 1. Central: The hotel is just minutes from MTR, about 5 min ride to Central Station/IFC and 1 stop to Causeway bay. 2. Clean I mean, its just a small room and a bathroom but in HK this is good 3. Cheap I had to stay for over a week for a conference. There are seriously scary hotels in some Mansion block in Kowloon - STAY AWAY from those. This is a gem, safe, kind staff, close to many great restaurants and a lively market. Cool cafe's to work in nearby. Overall: excellent value for money. Know that rooms are tiny - though in HK I've seen worse? Big windows make it better. Plus, they often surprise with breakfast downstairs and free coffee. Staff are so kind. So yeah, I mean its tiny but as a solo traveler or for business its a great find in HK!
