Since it was the first time for the two sisters to visit mainland China, we decided to choose a hotel that was as safe as possible. We spent about 22,000 yen for three nights in a twin room using coupons. The room wasn’t sparkling clean, but it had a nice atmosphere and we were comfortable during our stay. It was disappointing that there was no refrigerator, but I wonder if many hotels in China lack that? Also, there were no loungewear provided. Other than that, the amenities were complete. The shower was powerful and properly warm! The toilet had a trash can beside it, so I hesitated to flush, but after checking, it seemed okay to flush in Shanghai to avoid clogging, so I flushed normally (sorry if I was wrong). There were plenty of outlets and USB ports at each bedside, which was convenient. On the first day, we arrived early in the morning and immediately went to sleep, so we put up the "no cleaning" sign, but a new bottle of water was left in front of the door. The location was great; it cost about 3,500 yen to take DiDi from Pudong Airport to the hotel at 5 AM (there might have been extra charges due to the time). From there, we used DiDi to reach places like the Bund, Nanjing East Road, and Yuyuan, which were all within a distance of 300-400 yen. It took about an hour to reach Disney for less than 2,000 yen. This part isn’t related to the hotel, but I called for rides via an app, and I was overcharged once, so please make sure to check the price before payment after getting out (I got a refund after inquiring about it). There are cafes on both sides of the hotel, and there are two shopping malls about a 5-minute walk away. This is just fantastic! It has the shops we were looking for like CHAGEE, HEYTEA, MNISO, and Tangful! It seemed that POPMART and W.MANAGEMENT were also under renovation. There are convenience stores nearby, including a 7-Eleven and a FamilyMart. I didn’t take the train, but there was a station on the way to the mall, which was convenient. There was a robot in the lobby, and it was cute how it delivered items to the front of the rooms every time; I think I will try ordering myself next time! I will definitely stay here again (^ -^).
The room is not big but for 2 gals with XL luggages, we still had room to maneuver quite comfortably. The toilet and bath however is rather small, and for those who value privacy when doing your private business, you may be in for a shock 😀 but the location is very convenient. 300m away from metro and a huge shopping complex to all your necessities or even shop! And right next door there is a delicious deli called Holy Bagels that serves the best bagels ever! The hotel also comes with free laundry facilities but make sure u bring ur own washing detergents and plan early to avoid queues. The price is very affordable and if you are going to be out most of the hours and just needs a place to sleep, this is a good choice.
The accommodation is really great, very quiet and not chaotic. The room is clean and well-organized, but hidden in a community area that is not crowded. There is actually a path behind the place to walk around the river, where you can also see the Pearl Tower. There is a small cafe that opens in the area behind the hotel, which is really nice. The coffee tastes good and is delicious, and the prices are affordable. There is a mall nearby for comfortable shopping, and the subway station is close by, making it very easy to walk to. However, personally, I prefer to take a taxi because it is more convenient. Importantly, the road in front of the hotel is very convenient. I like it, and if I have the chance to go again, I will definitely stay here.
When I checked in, I found that the room type did not match what I had selected. I had paid extra for a larger room with a private bathroom. However, upon entering the room, I realized it was very small, and the bathroom was open, located right next to the bed, with only a curtain separating the two. The room had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, and the bathroom showed signs of mold. Although I wasn't certain about the exact size, I was confident it wasn't the room I had booked since I had specifically chosen one with a fully enclosed bathroom. I requested a room change. After discussing the issue, I was eventually moved to the room I had originally booked. It was larger and had the private bathroom as shown in the pictures I had reserved. While I wasn’t initially pleased with the situation, as I felt they were trying to assign me a room that didn’t match my booking, the staff was ultimately helpful and provided good service. Overall, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. Despite daily housekeeping, the floor was never clean during my stay. The location is quite convenient, being about 500 meters from the train station, within walking distance. There’s also a large shopping mall nearby, which is convenient for guests.

“A real joyful experience at Jinglai Hotel Shanghai Joy city branch!!”
For first timers in Shanghai it could be a bit of a challenge finding the best hotel for you. There are so many options both luxury and economical its a city of many choices indeed. While looking at Agoda we found Jinglai Hotel Shanghai joy city at just 66 sgd per night with breakfast for a Superior guest room at 20 sqm nothing could be more better than this!!! Especially for us who are always away for a day trip. Its located at Qufu road near at Line 12 of Shanghai metro near 7 eleven and a big comic mall with lots of dining and shopping options - Joy city mall Qufu!!! The hotel is not direct to the Bund and its about 30 mins walk but its only 2 stops away from Nanjing east station take Line 10 Tiantong road as the fastest option and the metro walk is not that far.The hotel was Citigo before Jinglai purchased and ira inside a parking lot so do take note. Its a modern boutique hotel perhaps newly renovated. We were booked on 2F across the restaurant area where we had our delicious breakfast. The room is big but the layout is quite off. There is a big column between the bed and the luggage area. There are no fridge. Shower and toilet are quite small enough for 1 people but water pressure and heating are strong and works perfectly. The shower has rainfall and showerhead type. They offer container toiletries which is a plus. They also provide complete free and clean towels and there is a place for you toiletries in the toilet. The sink with hand wash is separated on the left side with wall and magnifying mirror that has bright lighting. There is a mni compartment on the left side of the sink, a hair dryer and compartment below with free slippers. The sink is place on a long black table with a cushioned grey chair. They provide complimentary tea and water bottle/kettle at this part also. Next to the table is a small space where you can hang your clothes and place your luggages. Opposite this space just across ahead is a small living area with Grey lounge chair and coffee table where you can place your bags, things, food/drinks and rest. Then the King bed which ate half the size of the room is quite big with thick blankets and fluffy pillows. Its just the perfect firmness, clean, soft, and silky. There is a compartment across the bed where you could place your bags and things again and a super huge Wall mounted TV that offers local shows and channels only. They have a small window with an automatic double curtain managed from the left side of the bed headrest which really shows the modernity aesthetics of the room. On this side also has a black modern lamp, lighting controls and small side table with power usb outlets. On the right side of the bed near the window is another power/usb outlet with a cute small eye revolving lighting which is really modern indeed!!! There are compartments again at this side of the bed. All over the room there are modern aesthetic lightings like under the bed and headrest. Their wallpapers depict the famous sights and icons in Shanghai and described something in script their different parts which is truly a work of art for me!!! They can clean our rooms daily but they didnt replace our bedsheet and cups despite staying for 4 nights. We availed of their daily breakfast buffet because their pretty affordable and they offer mostly Chinese options with some bread/pastries/fruits/eggs/yogurts/porridge/soup/rice/veggies/sausage/dimsum and coffee/tea/mil/juice. Im pretty impressed with their breakfast place which is modern and showing artsy music decor and very big/cozy/clean space. The food are good - freshly cooked, tasty, and just the perfect selection to start your day!!! I loved their fruit selections and dim sum of siew pao, bun, dumplings both veg and non veg. We had our breakfast almost daily except on one day. The hotel alao has laundry area on the 2f near the restaurant. Checkout was also pretty quick and easy!!! If you’re looking for a nice, modern, convenient and affordable place to stay the look
