"The location is perfect - just 10 minutes from the harbor with a beach literally opposite the hotel. The beach is great for snorkeling - go out at high tide so you can swim over the seaweed farms. Also check out the beach bar 'Penida Colada' for great food and drinks. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, addressing us by our first names as soon as we arrived. They organized transport and a day tour for us at fair prices. The food at the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced compared to Bali! There are even two Bali Starlings who like to frequent the grounds. The room was big with a large, very comfortable bed. We will be back!"

"After 35 visits to Bali and having run Hotels and restaurants for over 15 years I feel I am well able to give a proper review of facilites and what you get for your money in Bali. The Suka Beach Bungalows on Lembongan Island are new Lembongan Hut-style accomodation, angled and facing towards the beach. We booked the A/C suite but didn't turn it on once as the breezes and airflow was fine anyway, but as this is the closest one to the water didn't mind the extra cost to have totally uninterrupted views across to Sanur and Benoa Harbour at night time. There are currently 4 raised Huts with a downstairs outdoor bathroom setup (No Hot water but really it isn't needed) which is fine and the balcony and fixtures are great. Nice big comfy bed as well. Downstairs having your own daybed is a nice touch. Ketut and his lovely family are really good value. The brother apparently does massages but I never saw him do anything while I was there so can't comment on how good or otherwise they are. Ask Ketut if he can get any fish in (which he will if he doesn't already) for some of the best Bonito Tuna you'll ever eat. The rooms aren't serviced daily as these are low dollar accomodation but really a wonderful little find. There is a bit cheaper around but overall you won't regret paying and staying with Ketut and his family. TIPS: believe it or not but there is a Michelin 3 Hat Chef (the Highest rating you can get) on the Island (ask where is Indiana Restaurant)for one of the most memorable meals of your life: You do get what you pay for absolutely in life and this is a must do if you are into fine dining and a sunset to die for. Make sure you book or you will have to settle for a table further back (which is still lovely) but you'd regret it later if you didn't have the "Whole" experience. Five Star all the way.....amazing. "You know how Ubud, Bali is like? It sets the mood. It makes you peaceful. Its just close to perfection. Well, include Chili Ubud Cottage in your 'to-stay' location when in Ubud and let's just say that you would like for time to just stop. Staff - level of friendliness and attention they give is that of any Ritz. Top notch. Location - tucked in a cul-de-sac but still having Monkey Forest walkable and Monkey Forest Rd is just 5mins walk, it's ideal enough. Premise - initially thought out as a Resto, this place expanded inwards and became villas there after. It's a beautiful place where you can just look down from the Resto @ the front and just wonder your mind away - perfection with an IPad but sheer heavenly when you have an actual book. The smell of the surroundings and the smell of the book paper adding to it a mug of cold one... tell me you are not floating your mind over already? Bfast - small menu but enough to mix and match on a daily basis. Small servings but does the job till afternoon time comes. Room - big enough and spacious. Has all that it needs BUT!! Due to closeness to nature, ants abound so don't be irked. Verdict - I LOVE IT. It's great and all rounded. Everything that holiday dream accoms are. No need for infinity pool. No need for big names. No need to break the bank. Come and enjoy the blissful property that is Chili Ubud. Come and enjoy the days in the Island of Gods. "

"My wife & I stayed at the Eden Kuta Bali hotel and had an absolute wonderful experience!! For the money, it is the best deal on the island, we highly recommend this hotel. The staff was terrific, all seemed to speak very good English, certainly much better than our Indonesian. They were all very pleasant, and were very friendly and very helpful with whatever our needs were."

"We have been coming to the Ramada for 12 years now, sometime we stay 2 or 3 times a year. We have stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels in Bali but nowhere we have stayed has had the same setting or relaxed atmosphere as the Ramada. The Ramada has the lot, great pool, magnificent gardens, friendly staff and great breakfast. The only thing is the staff no longer serve the coffee during breakfast any longer, you have to actually get your own. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel. "

"I came to Amed to do my PADI Open Water course and booked to stay at the Bila hotel. Initially I wanted to do the course at one the big dive schools in the area as I had not realized that Bila also offers it. But after meeting the very friendly owner Oliver and realizing that he would be my private dive instructor as there were no other students, I chose to do the course there. He was only slightly more expensive, but I guess this is reflected in the quality and I have not regretted this choice for a second. He was very friendly, patient and professional and, as far as possible, tailored the dives to my wishes. The dive equipment was very new. The hotel itself is excellent, the rooms are located next to a small garden and have nice verandas. Rooms are very clean, showers only have cold water but this is not an issue in the warm weather. Wifi connection in the room was slow and unstable, but this is no exception on Bali. Staff is friendly and the restaurant serves very good food. The pizza's are definitely worth a try, every meal comes with a free fruit plate and they offer cheap refills of filtered water. There are also a few good restaurants just down the road, ask the hotel for recommendations. All in all I really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend both the No Fear diving school and hotel! "This is set in the walled community that is Nusa Dua. The local shops are located just outside the gate and the tourist strip at Tangung Benoa is close by. One advantage is that nearly every restaurant we went to offered free transport to and from the hotel. There is also a shuttle to the shopping at Bali Collection. The room we had was absolutely fantastic. One of the best we have stayed in. The pool scene was quite lively with the obligatory swim-up bar. The breakfast buffet was quite pedestrian. A special mention to the staff at the customer relations desk in the lobby. They were more than helpful in arranging restaurant and transport bookings whether in the resort or outside in the town. They were also able to provide very good recommendations when we asked them. Because this is in a walled community, it is a bit of a walk to the shops unless you avail yourself of the free shuttle buses to Bali Connection or if you go to a restaurant that provides pick-up. "

"What a pleasant stay. My first time in Bali and I was actually late for check in due to the flight delayed- it's almost midnight when I arrived but the staff was patiently waiting for me. It was a little difficult to find the place. However, it was quite and a peaceful place. The room was nice, air conditioned, bathroom was clean. No hot water but it's fine, it's Bali anyway. It's actually beyond my expectation.I didn't expect much as the price I paid for the room was quite cheap. But everything's great for me. Like I said, I had a pleasant stay. I'd definitely recommended this home stay to my backpackers buddies."

"I hate to write this since the hotel employees were exceptionally friendly but otherwise I didn’t like the flair of the Hotel very much (would give it 3 stars). The rooms are big, clean and modern but a bit cold and since the hotel just opened it was still not really finished. Facilities were still closed, the pool area poorly designed, no place to sit on the balcony, very poor room service (food). I wish the team all the best for the future though, they did there best!"

More about Bali

Bali is a world away from the rest of Indonesia, and a longtime favorite with international travelers. Surfers have been coming here since the 1930s, but it wasn't until the 1960s that surfing vacations to Bali became the popular thing to do. Today, the trend continues and Bali sees as many surfers as it does affluent resort tourists.

Indonesia may have the world's largest Muslim population, but Bali fosters its own distinct culture. Hinduism has flourished here for nearly 2,000 years. Away from the beaches are fascinating Hindu temples, cultural exhibitions, terraced rice fields, and colorful festivals.

Kuta is the busiest resort district in Bali, featuring some of the top luxury hotels in Bali. Behind the main waterfront is a spread of budget guesthouses that are still within easy walking distance of the beach. From here it's a short trip by taxi or rented motorbike to Uluwatu, a massive limestone peninsula jutting out in the sea. Tourists visit Uluwatu to see the temple, go surfing, or watch the sunset over the majestic cliffs.

Legian is another must-see, as it offers an excellent surf along with exciting nightlife along the beach. Life in Legian begins and ends on the beach. Surf shops give lessons by day, and then give way to lively bars and live music venues after sunset. There is a reason that Bali is often referred to as paradise, and much of it is evidenced by a visit to the many beaches.
