"This is my second visit since last year. Showed some improvement at receptionist counter (More attentive and polite). Check in and out was fast, paid deposit of THB2000 for 3 nights by credit card which will be refund when you check out (Hotel in Bangkok need deposit during stay, so is ok for me). Booked Luxury Room at Main Tower, rooms are spacious, clean with stable wifi and clean big bath room with clean bathtub, everything as show in Agoda website. Only downside is the bathroom, very slippery floor, so be careful everyone. (I nearly fell a few times during my stay, hope something can be done before accident happens for other guest). Last of all, this hotel is very close to most shopping center in Pratunam and there are a lot of small night stall outside hotel and famous chicken rice are just opposite of hotel but will need to walk around 15-20 mins to reach nearest BTS. Will still choose to stay here if there's room promotion on my next trip to Bangkok."

"OK, it is rare to have a hotel in bangkok where smoking is allowed and it was quite a stay for us. It was very quiet hotel too so you can sleep well at night. It was not a bad hotel at all. For that price, I think it is all worthwhile. I would give five stars if they gave me bottle water the first day when I checked in, so next time, give me water! LOL... Roberson is nearby and so as all transportation. If you are looking to snack shopping, Roberson can fulfill all your snack needs. There were quite a lot of nice restaurants nearby and across the road as well. And there is an old book store nearby and it was a germ! I would definitely stay in this hotel next time. My suggestion, probably better ventilation before check in, it was quite hot in bangkok with the sun shine directly, no amount of air condition can cool the room down in an instant. Also, better television, it was almost impossible to watch anything, the reception was very bad."

"I was in Bangkok from 25 April to 30 April with a girl friend, some difficulties finding the hotel [as many people found out], but once you know where it is, it is the most convenient place in Bangkok. lol. There were many hotels scattered around the same area, but Grand Alpine have the advantage of it being on a busy street with lots of awesome food stalls and not too close that the noise will affect the stay. I love it's proximity to the Pratunum Market [5 min walk, 1 street away] and the ever popular Platinum Mall. We get a dose of friendly thai culture from it's surrounding streets and many people as well. Staff are happy to serve and help, hotel's extremely clean and neat for a 3 star hotel in Thailand and barely any hiccups in our itinerary throughout. Requested for an extra pillow as their single pillow is unfortunately flat like a blanket, first pillow is free but there is a charge of 50Baht per night for the second. [I need higher pillows due to habit of sleeping on my side...] Not a big deal as my friend is not in need of the extra pillow like i do. They clean the rooms everyday, topped up the complimentary water bottles and changed new towels. Extremely delighted with this as it was the hottest period at that time. Regarding the "free tuk tuk service", note that it's not the normal tuk tuk you get outside, it is the hotel's personal tuktuk which is slightly bigger and branded with their name. We found out that the service stops after 5pm so take note! And just approach any of the counter staff if you'd like to grab a ride to nearby malls or station. Highlight this because i read a lot of reviews about the free tuk tuk but it wasn't clear. Many thanks to the kind service staff of Grand Alpine for the wonderful stay! Giving a very good review because it was really worth the money!! Good deal! :)"

"Very nice hotel. Super accommodating staff. Loved everything but it wasn’t super cheap. Super cheap hotels in Bangkok tend be of lower quality. (I’ve lived in Thailand for 15+ years). This hotel was very solid."

"After 1 months of travelling and sleeping in different locations and hotels around Thailand, we choose a studio suite at Aspira Parc 39 for our last 3 nights in Bangkok. It was the best decision to choose this hotel. After testing so many hotels for the course of 28 days I can say Aspira Parc 39 was one of the best, the room was very big, spacious, with a big ceiling and windows. The bed was the most comfortable I had during this one month and the room was very clean. We appreciated a lot the daily cleaning service and also the staff kindness, which helped us when in need. I would definitely want to come back and try also the others hotels from the Aspira chain. I would also warmly recommend this hotel to other friends or family. Thank you and hope to see you back soon!"

"A regular visitor to Thailand I stayed in the excellent Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11off Sukhumvit this time. I say excellent because the standard is exactly how a €40+ per night 4 star in Bangkok should be.The Ambassador is a big property with many amenities. The reception area is huge and the staff are friendly and efficient. My luggage was taken from the Taxi and appeared in my room within minutes of me entering my room. The initial impression you get when you walk in to the reception area is 5 star but the rooms put it firmly back in the second division. They are not bad but quite basic. Everything works and at this price you can't ask for more. The WiFi is free and strong but does require constant re-entering of passwords which is annoying at first but you get used to it. Room cleaning is efficient and flexible. Long low timber ceiling corridors give it a kind of old cruise liner feel. Restaurants, Bars, Massage studio, Gym, Tailoring shops, health spa and several coffee shops are among it's many features. And of course that great location close to everything. Some of the best restaurants in Bangkok are here. The very expensive but superb El Gaucho Steakhouse, one of 2 in the area, is right next door. For Mexican try the Coyote across the road. And round the corner the Firehouse serves the best burgers in Bangkok. An Aussie Bar also across the road serves up the traditional full breakfast. I would recommend the Ambassador as a budget hotel without hesitation. "

"we stayed in the baiyoke sky hotel in bangkok for one night at the end of travelling around thailand for two weeks. it was a great experience. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was luxurious, the views amazing and the choice of restaurants/food was vast. if you are planning on doing some shopping in bangkok this hotel is ideally situated not far from the mbk shopping centre - great for some bargains. the baiyoke sky does a free shuttle service to and from the centre. one downside was the location - if you wanted to venture out to eat you had to get a taxi as there were no good restaurants within walking distance (although there was a few mcdonalds/kfcs for fast food convenience). having said that, getting a taxi/tuc tuc around the city is so cheap - around 100-150 bhat (£2-3) for a 20-30 minute taxi ride - you can't really complain! although the lobby and bedrooms were luxurious and modern there were some areas of the hotel that are in need of some renovation. for example, the pool/gym area - decorated a bit like a kids zone didn't quite fit in with the rest of the elegant decor. overall, i would recommend the baiyoke sky hotel although book online in advance for better deals as the rates on arrival is very expensive. "I had a great stay at Vela Hotel. The room was perfectly clean and breakfast was great. Within walking distance to restaurants and the big shopping malls. The pool was a little small and the hotel isn't quite finished being renovated but this was made up by the staff. They bent over backwards to make sure my stay was comfortable. i had an issue where I left something meaningful in a previous hotel in Thailand and Sam who works there went out her way to make sure my item was returned to me. She even did this in her own time. Friendliest hotel staff I came across i during my time in Thailand. Keep up the good work. "
