Catania hotels & accommodations

Although it was very early in the season (beginning of March) the place was very run down looking with all the facilities closed except the restaurant, there were even a couple of abandoned cars on site. The chalet room was adequate although the toilet was no longer fixed to the floor and the door to the bathroom didn't shut. The whole place needs a lot of work doing t...

Pros: - a very nice room with decorations on the walls - huge bed - very clean hotel - the breakfast buffet is great with a lot of options - the pool is big - across the street from the sea - a nice balcony with a seaside view - has also a private section of the beach next to the sea Cons: - far from the city, you need a taxi or a rented car to get there - there are o...

The 2 night managers were great, but service staff were unfriendly / rude. Breakfast lady never smiled, acted as if our presence was a nuisance. Older man who acts as day manager was very harsh with my sister in-law when she didn't wash a drinking glass, worse with my wife, shouting and gesturing angrily because she left a balcony door slightly ajar. But he would leave...

Very good location (only 5 minute walk from Catania Centrale railway station or walking distance from city center). You can reach here from the airport by Alibus (4 euro only). I spent one night and everything went well. Easy to find the main door even if no signals. Enjoyable conversation with the owner, kind and friendly. The only thing is that I not recommend the pl...

The staff buzzed us in through the imposing wooden doors, walking us through a large, friendly courtyard to the office for a quick and easy check-in process. The room itself was more of an efficiency apartment, with a full kitchen including stove and full size fridge. The bed was quite comfortable. Check out the beautiful outdoor seating and the bar upstairs!

A very pleasant stay for two nights in Catania. The city is a gritty port city with lots of hustle and bustle, so you need a comfortable classy hotel to cosset you in the evenings.the Una palace fitted the bill! The only complaint was that the hotel heating system was full on all the time and even with air conditioning control, our room was incredibly hot. However the ...

we stayed in an apartment which was not in the same palace as the main hotel, but only 50m walk away. the apartment was also located in an old building with view onto a beautiful piazza. the apartment was very spacious, all worked well. check in and check out at the lobby was easy and friendly. secure parking was also provided for very small fee

It was really great! The room was very good and the breakfast too. A very modern place! A one of a kind elevator for the luggage 😂 however you must go up some stairs... I can really recommend this place. The only minus point was to find the place but just follow google maps and it’s exactly there. Watch out for a big door and on the side wall is a small sign “Exclusi...

First impression of the area is " rough" but we were wrong . Within 10 min walk there are the nice streets and up market shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel if you are in Catania for just a few nights.Great for the Alibus as Well (2min to busstop). Lovely breakfast , what else do you want?

We have had some awesome days there! You gonna stay in a kind of Villa. The rooms are clean and really comfortable. There is a terasse and a garden with a lot of trees and plants which is the perfect place for a Chill-Out after a day in the City or at the Beach. But the best thing about these accomodation are the hosts - they were welcoming us as heartly as possible an...

This is a wonderful B & B, a five-star room with a six-star breakfast. Food is really top quality. The location is good for the city, although it can be noisy which is to be expected for the center or a city. Internet is spotty in places, but these are the only negatives for what is really a lovely place with wonderful generous hosts. Would return!

This was a very misleading hotel name. There was a decent bed, but no thought of breakfast included, and when I questioned the proprietor, he just shrugged his shoulders. The positive here was that they stayed up until 12:30am to recieve us. The downside was the very dicey neighborhood, there was no bathroom in one of the rooms, and no running water in the other room. ...

I have only excellent review on the rooms staff and location with 3 very important points that will improve a lot the guests stay: 1) The breakfast is a coupon to nearby cafe. It includes coffee of your choice , bottled pineapple or orange juice and a small sweet pastry. The staff at the cafe, were NOT nice and I suspect that this is due to their understanding that w...

The hotel is in a completely and exquisitely refurbished bulding in a busy and congested part of the city, with parking at a garage a few blocks away. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in making us feel at home. It is short walk from the railroad and bus stations, including the bus that goes up Mt. Etna, and is and easy walk from m...

Have stayed several times at this well located hotel. Large rooms, well furnished with good bathrooms. Nice restaurant overlooking the sea, quality breakfast. Hotel has free parking facilities, bus stop to historical Catania within 2 minutes walking distance. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay outside central town

First of all, I have a month trip to Europe and catania is in the middle of my trip, I miss may family and home. Then I found b&b II Barone, I feels like home, specially the owner of the property, Giussepe, he is very kind, helpful, and hard worker. He picked me up when I arrived at the airport, and for free! I ve got welcome drink from lemonade wine, sicilian taste,...

The hotel is good but on arrival I wasnt given the room I had booked for and was transferred to another hotel for the first night which had a great quantity of steps. The hotel said that the room for the first night was a small room so not good for me. I got the room the next morning at about 1015 am .

The service was excellent. The owner was very friendly, helpful and extremely polite (I had a key accident on the street door around 4 am and the owner was very kind even if he was sleeping) . The room was large and it had a private bathroom. Very good breakfast spread in the morning. I strongly reccomended this place.

The Gattopardo is almost on the main Via Etnea and five minutes walk from the main historical sights. It describes itself as 'not a hotel' and offers no food or facilities beyond a room (most en suite). But what rooms! We had a four poster bed, the lobby was decorated with antiques and the room adjoining reception could have come from some grand palazzo. A good choice ...

You feel right at home in this charming apartment. The main door downstairs is a challenge to open so make sure you have Claudia show you the trick. Also getting into the parking lot is a very tight maneuver and there's a charge of 5€/day for the space.

For the price, the Loft is great. It have kitchen with a small terrase on the back side, kitchen are limited only for breakfast, since there are no coffee machine except there is only for making expresso, so we are not complaining. Bed is a bit to small for couple. Host is very friendly, eventough we have a bit hard time since they don't really speak english. The hos...

Located right in the historical city centre, next to the main street Via Etnea. Small and traditional, but rooms are large and clean. Very fast wireless internet. Located behind a gate and on second floor at a small courtyard, so quiet. Lovely, genuine staff. Breakfast fine with balcony overlooking Via Etnea. Fairly close to bus stop Borsselino. Nothing too fancy, but ...

They are very friendly, and it was very comfortable and nice to stay here. They helped us a lot as much as they could whenever i ask something them. I really appriciate it still indeed. 8 Mood is a fantastic place to stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Good breakfast buffet. Staff are fabulous. The owner Rebella was so helpful. Looked up time tables for buses, organized a taxi and recommended great restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.

The owners were quite friendly and helpful. The room was fine. The place is easy to find and its close to the airport so its easy to return a car. They help you get a breakfast if you have an early flight. We had some trouble with the email connection, but they did everything they could to try to solve the problem. Others did not have the same problem. I would defi...

Hotel is well located close to centre of Catania. Room was comfy, clean, nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast spread was very good. I wish the bathroom had a proper shower though; it had a hand held shower above the bath. Wifi also wasn't very reliable, it kept cutting out and having to log on again.

This hotel is very close to everything in Catania. I loved how outside everything looks antique but when you get inside the hotel it is amazing, everything is modern, the room is very classy and elegant. Each room has a theme based on an Italian movie, mine happens to be a movie shot in Sicily so watching it helped me understand the Island and the famous landmarks in i...

Close to the sea, close to the bus station (a 10 min. ride to the center of Catania for 1€, tickets available at Arcobaleno). There is always staff in the hotel lobby, so why not sell bus tickets as an extra service? A very extensive breakfast, but we missed an assortment of non-sweet bread. Consumption in the pool bar was a bit pricey, e.g. a small coke €5, bottl...

Catania is an interesting city and is a great place from which you can also visit Taormina and Siracusa.
We got ok time but really nothing to rave about and nothing was simple. Food and cooking and buying at market is the best and so cheap and good
There is so much to explore in the little towns scattered around Mt Etna! Do not limit yourself to a visit up the volcano but also plan time to wander around the villages :)
Catania is a beautiful place to visit, there are so many things to see but everything can be seen in a day or two.
