Koh Chang hotels & places to stay

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in deluxe garden view villa.Nice good sized rooms, large bed, amazing bathroom with in located in northern part of white Sand Beach.Beach itself is nice and clean , free of stones.Wifi worked ok, typical connection for Thailand's hotel wifi.you are best to get a sim from one of telcos with decent amount of data and you are set. we had DTAC of 20 GB for 3 weeks, cost 1500 baht,no need for wifi at all and lightning speed ( better 4G than in Australia). Nice pool for kids with a slide, with beach view.Beach restaurant was good.Breakfast was good.Staff polite and helpful. resort kept tidy and very lush. 7/11 right next to hotel about 10 min walk to Sabay Bar with live Philipino band.at night lovely sound of frogs, geckos etc.very relaxing. And as per usual in beach resorts you needed to be at the pool early to get sun beds.all taken by 8.30 am. on negative note was the live performance of one man band at Beach Restaurant...very loud, making it nearly impossible to talk let alone enjoy the surroundings. Will stay again next time in Koh Chang

After staying at 2 other hotels on Koh Chang we decided to stay at Awa, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by all the staff, especially the manager. The hotel lobby is incredible and really you want to stay in there for a while to experience how awesome this hotel is. We were upgraded to a superior room so we could get the best view, thanks again to the manager, he went above and beyond any of his duties and really made our stay at Awa something special! The room was beautiful, and finally we got a good nights sleep in Koh Chang In a very comfortable bed! Every request we made was attended to, promptly. The pool is incredible and you will want to spend most of your time in and around it. I know the Thai people are friendly, but these guys at Awa were really something else, staying here really made our journey to Koh Chang worth the effort and I would recommend Awa to anybody, it's the only hotel I'd recommend!

Me and my partner booked this one after reading the reviews and as we both didn’t really know much about Koh Chang took the chance on this place. We also wanted to be away from White sands as we just like being away from the main strip. When we got here it was like wow!! What have we walked into! It is paradise, I would recommend it to anyone. The staff have been so lovely and friendly and gone the extra mile to make our stay really welcoming. I will be coming back here and luckily as I’m writing this review we have another few days left before we head back to Bangkok, which don’t get me wrong we are both really looking forward to and continuing our travel around Thailand but this place is going to be remembered forever and I am already planning in my head the next time I will come. The island of Koh Chang is stunning and the hotel just complimented the entire experience!!

My wife had stayed here many years ago and felt its resort status and location were going to be the same. The location of the resort on that portion of Koh Chang beach was the best. It was located on a protective cove so the scene was serene. The breakfast buffet was excellent with more food items than could be imagined. We used the beachfront restaurant for lunch and refreshing drinks, all in a beautiful atmosphere. The evening meal, seafood and barbeque was a little pricey so one could go to a very nice seafood restaurant a short distance away from the resort. If one has a car, one needs to explore the island as far as one can go along the windward side. You reach Koh Chang by ferry including your car (if you have one.) There are sontels (truck taxis) in abundance. We will come back. The resort hotel is better than its 3-star rating. If you need internet access, for 100 baht you can buy a 30 minute card from the mini-mart next to registration and the hotel provides you with several computers.

The Dewa is probably one of the nicest designed hotels in Koh Chang. Designed in beautiful contemporary design, using a lot of concrete in combination with natural materials. All rooms are located immediately adjacent to the large pool, in a 2 story high building. Hotel also has some villas. The rooms are large, so is the bath room. The standard of finishing is high. Restaurant building is on the other side of the pool, open air. The breakfast buffet is really nice, with enormous amount of choice is western and Asian food, all excellent. Hotel is not too large, I believe just over 50 rooms. When we were there, the hotel was full, but we could still find a bed at the pool or on the excellent beach. Massage on the beach as offered by the hotel was also very good, and very reasonably priced ( not the typical hotel inflated prices). We enjoyed the Dewa very much and would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. We don't really like big flashy hotels, rather simple places in nice locations. If you like to be near great exciting night life Kai Bae is not the best place on Koh Chang for you, it is a great place to relax and chill out. All the staff treat you as one of the family and it is certainly a resort that lives up to Thailand's claim to be "The Land of Smiles". We are looking for an opportunity to visit again. This was my second visit and I was surprised to find building work being carried out but the complted areas indicate that the resort will be beautifully improved when the tasteful work is complete.

This is the most beautiful Resort in Koh Chang Island I've been here on March 20 – I have stayed in many different hotels in this Island compares to others this is the best Resort. The Resort itself located on the beautiful Beach and when you go out from the Resort very nearby is biggest Tesco Lotus Supermarket, 7 Eleven, the main city where you can enjoy the City life as well. Worm welcome with big smile by Front desk staff, Spacious room all the rooms on first floor touch the Swimming pool water from the room you can jump direct to the swimming pool while you are enjoying the swimming with your partner can see the best sunset view. The Swimming pool starts from Reception all the way goes down to the beach very long, beautiful infinity pool. Room is very nice, large with all the amenities, very neat and clean. Marvelous Architectural design with full of beautiful trees. Breakfast is all day long you can take it at any times you want. Lunch & dinner have plenty of choice the test of the food is fantastic with great service and the price is really reasonable. For the couple Candle light dinner would be the best on the beach. I had a very good relaxing massage which release my all the stress from my brain and made me sleep the therapist do the massage from deep of their heart it makes me fill it. Perfect environment for holiday, relaxing The Resort have the best free shuttle service when you are sitting in the care the seat will massage your back I love it. I certainly recommend this resort to everyone.

I can’t imagine why one would give this resort a negative review. The entrance and facilities look stunning. The room is huge and a bit dark (which we actually loved). Our room had a little porch with a kind of a double sun bed that looked into the pool (which was again, huge). The resort has a little beach (artificial) with nice sun beds; we could always find a free one. The water is swimmable, but a bit deep. Staff is very helpful, especially as our luggage got lost at the airport, they called numerous time to try to find it. Massage is great and the prices are close to what you would find in the street. Breakfast has lots of options, including 2 chefs that cooked several types of omelettes and noodle soup. You can have your meal on the restaurant that has great view of the sea. Again, I can’t see why would other travelers negatively rated the breakfast. Yes, they are always full, with travelers all over the world, but I didn’t get a crowded feeling. The value for money is great. Finally, I recommend checking out the food court behind Morgan restaurant (there are about 3-4 restaurants) that serve good food for a cheap price. Also, Napalai cooking school in Klong Phrao is a great activity. Bunny is funny, good with kids and is a fluent English speaker. They provide free transport to and from your hotel. We visited in February and due to the dry season the waterfalls aren’t really a thing to do. I would return to Awa again if I were to visit Koh Chang again.

I rented a nice scooter for baht a day and drove nearly everwhere. I checked out quite a few other hotels that I looked at on the net. Trust me when I say, you wont find a better hotel than than this. Its not a 5 star but its as close as you can get. Its not on the beach, but I have to say, the beaches in Koh chang are not their high point anyway. I saw their sister hotel (Dewa Hotel) which is on the beach and I much preferred the Ramayana over it. The price is excellent, the free breakfast is good(not great). Everyday the room was made up with the towels folded on the bed in the shape of different things (elephant, flower, etc etc).What a nice touch! No other hotel has a heated jaccuzi not to mention its humongous size if thats what you are into. I personally loved it! The pool is so beautiful and quiet in the middle of the lush green gardens with all different kinds of palm trees. Dont waste your time searching for hours for the right place like I did. I got lucky and found exactly what I was looking for. The only down side I can think of is no free internet in the rooms. There is free internet at the restaurant though. Will definately stay there if I go back to Koh Chang

We liked everything about this place; the beachfront bungalow with its en-suite bathroom, very spacious, clean and well equipped (with great WiFi) , just a few steps to the sea; the restaurant on the beach serving delicious food and excellent breakfast in the morning; the facility with a pleasant swimming pool just in case one gets tired of the beach :-). Thai massage is available on site offering a perfect way to enhance an already great day. The staff is very nice, in particular at the restaurant; maybe a little bit less so at the main counter but this was a small negative in an otherwise perfect stay. We had a fabulous time and found the resort to deliver excellent service / excellent value. There is no doubt that we will consider this resort again when we are back in Koh Chang. What a treat!

After seven hours of bus from Bangkok airport, we got to koh Chang finally but really tired, fortunately this hotel is well located and really near the pier and the best beach "the white sand beach" in koh Chang. The resto is quite modern and awesome buffet breakfast every morning could easily make a great start for the whole day:)!! Rooms r clean and they prepare almost everything that u need besides toothbrush which is normal in Thailand. The roof piscine is another reason why we chose this hote with great sunlight, clear sea view and breeze. We saw monkeys in the mountains from there. The staffs r polite and kind. They will show u the best smile at first before answering any of ur questions. The manager could speak several languages so no worries if u can't speak Thai nor English. So really nice stay there and surely gonna be there again next time!

Cliff Beach is a wonderful resort, it's honestly the best choice for Kai Bae Beach in comparison to others. Kai Bae is only about a mile and a half long and Cliff Beach offers the only accessible sandy beach with no rocks. I was looking into the Awa and White Knot, their beach is terrible, but they offer great views. Our room was great, we had poolside view and ocean view when on the balcony, access to wifi in the room, and breakfast was included and was pretty decent. The resort offers an array of ocean rental activities from boat rides, snorkeling, to kayaking. Cliff Beach does cater to the Russians, they pretty much over took the hotel, were nice and respectful, however word on the street is that Cliff Beach is the only hotel that will accept them. Unfortunately Koh Chang itself really caters to tourist, you won't get a lot of authentic Thai culture, however it is a beautiful place, great parks, waterfalls, and sandy beaches, if you choose the right hotel:)

I really enjoyed my time at KB Resort. I moved here from another area on Koh Chang, and it really is a very nice beach. The resort itself was one of the nicest places I stayed at my entire time in Thailand, though I was mostly staying at midrange guesthouses so this was a bit of a step up and a nice way to splash out and finish my trip. I didn't eat at the restaurant other than for the included breakfast, which was good, but the menu looked nice and was quite reasonably priced (though there are cheaper spots out on the main road if you're looking for that). The staff were great, my fan bungalow was spotless, and the pool was a nice way to find some shade. I didn't mind that there are no loungers on the beach because I prefer to spread out on the sand anyways. My only complaint, and it has nothing to do with the resort, is that this is the beach where they parade the baby elephants up and down. I don't want to turn my review of this lovely resort into a political or ethical statement, but look up the Phajaan (or 'breaking the spirit' - its what is done to the elephants when they are babies to make them conducive for work in tourism and other industries). Elephants on a tourist beach is a bad thing, not an attraction. Again though, nothing to do with the resort itself. I just didn't enjoy seeing it three or more times a day.

This was like a dream coming true; staying at a place which has best of everything to offer which you would be thinking while making a booking. Its located on the main road, which is a big plus knowing that this is a beach resort. Has a quick, responsive, responsible, amiable staff which will go out all the way to make you feel special. The hotel will make every effort to not to let you feel bad about your decision of choosing this as your place to stay. Has one of the best beaches with an amazing view. And possibly one of the cleanest in Koh Chang with beautiful clear water as we happened to stay at a neighboring Four Star, just after this and except for a resounding name it was a sheer contrast to our earlier experience at Paradise Resort. The room service was punctual, regular and proficient in their work. Food at the Hotel's restaurant was of very nice quality (if not the best) since we are no Thai so really difficult making a judgment for us, but were comprehensively satiated by the sumptuous food available at a good discount. There were some renovations going on at the children's pool next to the adult pool which was in proper working. Will definitely recommend this place to all our friends. We will miss you KCPR till we meet again. Well done to all the people making it happen and keep up the good work! Bravos!

The end of cheap beach huts. all getting expensive now and no discounts. I was in Koh Chang 2003 , 20016 , 2017 and it's the end for a solo traveller on a budget. if there's 2 of you , it's ok. Pros , fan huts are nice and big , shower good and toilet , bed nice. pool lovely and food , drink good but expensive now days. Cons. The beach isn't lonely beach anymore. full of Russians and Germans on holiday. couldn't do a discount with the manager to stay a month or 2.

I loved having a room facing the beach, the staff is very nice, the place is clean and well maintained. The cabana is a wonderful place to hang out and the owners are such wonderful people! The food is delicious and the ambiance is worth being in a movie! The pool is large and clean and they have motorcycles for rent. I really loved this place and made wonderful friends there! Thanks for a great time in Koh Chang!🤙🏾

We stayed in 5 different rooms in 3 different resorts while on Koh Chang and Chai Chet was the best by far. HUGE property. Gorgeous views in several directions. It sandy beach bungalows on one side, rocky beach bungalows, jungle bungalows, and more. They have their own jungle/ocean hiking trail! Best pool of my stay in Thailand. We were really happy to find this place. Protected bay area on one side, FACING the rest of the resorts. Beautiful. Spectacular rocky area on the point of the bay... private rock climbs and ocean dipping... We LOVED it here and only 'liked' other places. I'd rate it 9.9 out of 10. Only wish the bar at the pool was open when we were there. lol

- very nice grounds, beautiful gardens, clean and uncrowded beach. - staff very polite and always smiling, although lacking some good english. - food in the bar and restaurant is not pricey, good quality but small choice. - average breakfast. - nice SPA, but never tried it, so can't compare with others. prices start from BHT 800 etc. - hotel is completely silent at night which is very good for sleeping. you can get live music everynight in the neighbouring Tropicana Resort (where you can also have a nice buffet dinner). - good beach and pool, lots of umbrellas and sunbeds, but beware of rocks in the water. overall, one of the best hotels in Koh Chang.

i have stayed in a lot of hotels in koh chang and this is best one so far i stayed in the beachside rooms they are a good size with seperate shower and bath, large beds, staff were very helpful ( the night watchman is an absolute diamond just take ten mins to get to know him i spoke to him everynight and he could not do enough for us ) food is very good and staff will cook it how you like if you take time to explain ( i was in hospital for 2 days on my return the staff were great cooking my food very plain and bland as i could not have anything spicy or even salt or pepper ) the pool is excellent allthough it was closed for 2 days due to filter system break down but they had people on the job fast and we could use the one on the hillside. the hotel is kept nice and clean, i would recomend this hotel as i have stayed here 3 times in the last 2 years and will stay again

Great value, at least off season, on a prefect white sand beach with clear sea. I loved the 8 days I had in my Seaview Bungalow. Very spacious, good bed with 4 pillows, nice terrace, a few steps in the white sand to bath in the sea. Nice and friendly staff, enjoyable breakfast buffet. The wifi connection was up and down, but maybe due to the previous torrential rains which occured a few days before my arrival and took some of the island's cables down. The diner we ate on site was ok not more. And mostly my diner's pleasure has been ruined by the terrible wine sold 220THB/glass that I would not even use to cook. For great food and correct wine at very affordable rates, we enjoyed Filou Restaurant 3 nights, don't miss it in town, 2Km north. Great thaï massages at "Good Massage" 2Km south. I will be back for the "Paradise" feeling of Siam Beach Resort, but also for the general ambiance of Koh Chang where the "Land of Smiles" kindness is still actual.
