Perfectly situated hotel; quiet but only few minutes distance to touristic centre of old town Lijiang. Hotel staff (all of them were very kind) accompagnied us from taxi to hotel v.v. and carried our heavy suitcases. Amber helped us with everything (made reservation for excursion, taxi etc). Her service and kindness were incredible. Even when my husband was sick 1 night, she personnally brought diner to our room (note: you can only have breakfast in this hotel so this dinner was their own!) because I could not leave him allone at that moment. We were highly impressed! Amber speaks English and another female colleague speaks a little English too but the rest of the staff does not. But Google Translate can help you everywhere in China. Room was good and clean. For breakfast you can choose out of 4 different kinds. 3 Chinese and 1 Western. It was simple but tasty. We recommend this hotel for your stay in Lijiang!

Stayed at a small local hotel in Lijiang old town for 3 nights before moved to Banyee Tree Lijiang for two nights. In general, Banyee Tree did provide quality service but staff could be more proactive in order to reach five stars service. Unlike the small local hotel where the staff would treat their guests as friend and try very best to accommodate your requirements. In Banyee Tree, when I walking back to my room at night in the rain, I stopped the staff who was on golf car, for the right direction. They just pointed you where to go without offering to take you to the room. While staying at the local hotel, the staff would waited for you at the old town gate upon your call to take you back to the hotel. Another case, when I asked the Banyee Tree staff at the entrance about the possible transportation to another old town nearby, they just said you better asked the taxi for a round trip though there is bus service available. However, when I asked the local hotel for places to visit, they gave me different options and recommend the best and safe options for sole traveler, Having said that Banyee Tree staff at the restaurant, front desk and Spa are friendly and willing to help. Overall I did enjoy my stay at Banyee Tree.

I had roughly planned my holiday in Yunnan -- fly into Lijiang and then get an overnight train to Kunming and a bus to the Honghe. But within minutes of my arrival, the plan fell to pieces -- the train tickets were all sold out! So I went to the hotel -- which I must admit is not easy to find because it's tucked in a alleyway near the north gate of the ancient city, not near the hustle and bustle of the main part of town. But the owner who also manages the place came to pick me up from the main road and guide me to the hotel. When I told her of my travel problems she was quick to help me -- spending the next 90 minutes sorting out my travel plans as best as she could. This was totally unnecessary but I was ever so grateful. The Inn itself is spectacular -- it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the main part of the ancient city, but the trade off is that it is so peaceful and quiet -- you're guaranteed a good night's sleep. I had the smallest room in the Inn but it was still quite spacious, and the bed was ever so comfortable. The owner helped me book a day trip to the Yulong snow mountain with a travel service that doesn't take you shopping against your will first. And the best part was meeting other travellers at the Inn -- who I ended up having dinner and drinks with and the next day they also went to the snow mountain. Great atmosphere, superior room and new friends -- all thanks the a young lady who is probably the best hotel owner/manager in all of China. You simply must come and stay. Easily a 10/10!

Travelled solo and booked Er San Hotel in advance. Hotel is located in one of the newer stretches of shoreline in Lugu opened for tourism. Many hotels along that stretch but Er San Hotel stands out with its simplistic but modern mudbrick-like exterior. Interior is modern scandinivian styled and very clean. Everything works well. Only gripe is that wc and shower are located separately and there is construction in front of the hotel for the supposed "lakeview" room. The service more than makes up for the minor inconvenience, not that it mattered given everything was almost perfect. Was hit with food poisoning and requested for a bottle of mineral water to prevent dehydration at 6am. Staff brought up a simple breakfast, a bottle of mineral water and diarrhea medication straight to my room. Such service is by and large, unheard of in places like lugu. Price/quality is beyond reasonable, not many hotels around Lugu can compete for sure. Thumbs up!

Highly recommend this hotel for its location and rooms. The hotel is located right next to the old city of Lijiang (with a back gate that gets you into the city itself) and is a 10 min walk to the main square. As a result, you have the benefits of being within walking distance of everywhere but without being in the middle of the noise and bustle of the old city itself. The hotel has been built in the traditional Naxi style. The rooms themselves were really well appointed with a flat screen TV. A lot of thought had gone into the design with plug points in the right places and enough lighting. This guesthouse is the few hotel in Lijiang to offer free breakfast, it's really delicious with native rice noodle, and the Western food is also prepared. it's nice to enjoy drinks in the courtyard which is quite and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and eager to please. The reception is very helpful in booking tickets, arranging a car for sightseeing etc.

i admire the architecture of this resort and the excellent design and workmanship of the interiors - a perfect blend of traditional and modern designs. the crown plaza lijiang ancient town is centrally located. it has best of both worlds where one can stay in the resort to enjoy serenity and a relaxing spa treatment or to take a stroll at the ancient town with direct access from the side gate. the tee tree spa is beautifully designed with stones and wood; with lots of natural light and landscaped courtyards. the hotel is new, and the staff are friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. a top choice if you visit lijiang.

I wish I could type an essay to express how much grateful we were to have pre-booked this Inn as our choice of stay in LiJiang. Our flight from KunMing to LiJiang was delayed due to unforeseen weather changes yet the 2 young and helpful owners still stayed up to welcome us despite it was already 12am midnight. The Inn looks exactly the same as the displayed pictures - spacious, clean, and very cozy. That's my first impression on this Inn! It has 10 rooms in total, co-managed by 2 young handsome men, namely YangLei & XiaoZhe, and not to forget a chatterbox ChongZi who always brews tea for us, I assure you that's the best tea we've ever consumed! We spent most of our time at the common area to enjoy the slow pace moment & specially brewed PuEr and got to know many friends from all over the world, who all shared the same feeling towards this hotel. I'm back to my home country for weeks, if you were to ask me what do I miss the most in LiJiang? That would certainly be "People and friends"! If you wish to have a homey feel after a long tired travel journey, I highly recommend YueTu to you!

Stay there for 3nights. Love the location of the guesthouse which is inside the lijiang old town. We strolled the lijiang old town every single night! I love how the Lijiang old town looks like. It is so pleasant to stroll around!! Every sight is beautiful. We booked for the loft family suite second floor. The interior of the guesthouse is unique as well and I love how old school the interior is. There was bench in front of the room where we would sit and chatting at night. Great experience in Lijiang.

The hotel - buildings and interior - is beautiful, set with a picturesque background of the Jade Dragon Snow mountain. It is located just about 10-15 minutes taxi ride from Lijiang Old Town. The room is new and clean, complete with all required necessities. The staff meet basic requirements but I feel that service is the bare minimum of a 4.5 stars hotel - with nothing exceptional or beyond expectation (compared to 3-4 stars hotels we stayed in during this trip which all had service-minded staff which went out of their way to help us and thus making the experience beyond expectation). The hotel has a resident llama and many swans and peacocks too. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is highly NOT recommended as food was very bland and service was very slow.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend and we loved every bit of it. Even though the price is above average for Lijiang old town, the quality of this place warrants paying a lot more than we actually did -- for us it was completely affordable. The hotel is a solid 5 star. They are somehow able to maintain the feeling that its a smallish, localish hotel while offering true luxury at the same time. The room was one of the nicer rooms I've ever stayed in in terms of attention to detail, decor, and modern fixtures -- there's a profile based lighting system controlled by capacity touch panels on the wall! The restaurant is great -- we ate there for many meals. (we also ate around town at a few different places and this restaurant was comparatively delicious). The location was also top notch. Its on the edge, outside the center of old town, so you avoid the crowded touristy shopping streets and nasty "bar street." Instead the pleasant walk through the nearby quiet winding cobblestone streets and canals allowed us to find some really cool, local (non-touristy) spots within old town. It's also a 3 minute walk from the edge of old town allowing you easily to exit and grab a taxi or bike for some out of town excursions. Stay here if its at all in your budget arena. I know I will if I return to Lijiang. I'll recommend this to anyone and everyone I come across.

If you dont speak Chinese, It's hard to travel around China, especially in Lijiang. But a staff who can speak English, helped us hundred times. I was absolutely lucky to stay in Hemuju Inn. Breakfast was good, room was clean and cozy, bath tub, electronic blanket, hair dryer, tv and everything is ready in the room. No other hotels can be better than here. 1 All the staff are soooooooooo nice and warm hearted. My family trip in Lijiang was filled with a lot of happiness because of this hotel. Thanks for the staff again, I will never forget your kindness and care.

We stayed there for 4 days. the room condition was great and very convenient. and the room has floor heating system so we can enjoy warm air all day and all night in the room. the room has big windows so we could enjoy great view and sunshine also. I couldn't forget a happy new year firework enjoying through windows in my room. Host couple is very kind and helpful and they has no free breakfast but offer some food for your breakfast in their cafe 1F by good price and quality . they has the lounge (3F) has the amazing view of Lijiang city all around for guests for free. any guests stay there can enjoy there. ah. so many chinese restaurant and Lijiang mainstreet are near to there. I will just stay there if I go to Lijiang again. 리장가든인 게스트하우스에서 4박동안 정말 잘 지냈어요. 방도 깨끗하고 뷰도 너무 좋고 햇살도 너무 좋았네요. 호스트 부부도 정말 친절했어요. 저희방 뷰도 좋았지만 3층에 마련한 라운지에서 보는 뷰도끝내줍니다. 만고루 못지않아요^^ 거기서 그냥 개인적으로 차 가져와서 드시면 됩니다. 뜨거운 물은 1층 보온병에 무료로 제공합니다. 진심으로 좋은 곳이었어요. 참 입구에 식당도 많고 슈퍼도 많고 리장고성 중심하고도 가까워요^^ 진심 추천합니다.

I would recommend this Hotel/Inn to anyone who wants to visit Lijiang City. This Inn is situated in the centre of the Old Town and is in a very quiet position. The day before we arrived, I received an email from the owner Jessy asking if we would like a driver to collect us from the airport. When we arrived at the airport the driver was there waiting for us. He helped us with our suitcases and drove us to the edge of the Old City Gates. Jessy was there to greet us with lots of smiles and a man with a cart to take our suitcases to the Inn for us. The cobbled roads in the Old City are not easy to push or pull your luggage on, so having someone take our luggage for us was a big bonus. We then walked with Jessy to the Inn through the Old City. Jessy pointed out scenic spots to visit and she also made us aware of the direction to the Inn and pointed out special land marks so that when we were walking around on our own, we would always find our way to the Inn. We were greeted by Jessy's parents who honoured us by offering us a traditional tea ceremony in the most beautiful foyer I have ever seen. This Inn is 800 years old and is spectacular. The wood that the Inn is built out of is just beautiful and the rooms are decorated in a way to make you feel cosy, warm and relaxed. There is even an electric blanket on the bed. Jessy never stops being friendly and is always willing to walk you to restaurants that are cheap and offers fine food. Whether it is for dinner, lunch or tea time, Jessy is always willing to help you out. Jessy also helped us at the post office when we needed to send items home to Australia. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Inn to anyone that is travelling to Lijiang City. Well done Jessy and your parents. only a few niggles but this applies to everywhere in lijiang. you have to carry your luggage some distance as no taxis can go in. everywhere is difficult to find even though agoda give the address in chinese. i had made two separate bookings, but managed to get two separate blossom hills, neverland and joyland. they are both owened by the same group, 50 metres from each other and both are excellent. i have travelled extensively in china and the rooms were the best value i have had. the bedrooms were themed, so all werer different. the furniture was to a high standard and the bathrooms had german sinks, baths etc. the beds are probably the best i have ever slept in. these are boutique hotels with the bedrooms around a courtyard. the staff spoke english and were very helpfull.

Aside from the fact that I found Lijiang to be one of the nicest places in China, this “inn” I would consider worthy of calling a “4-star” hotel. It was tasteful, comfortable, and impeccably clean. It’s relatively easy to find, about a 7-8 minute walk to the South Gate of the Old City; safe because it’s right next to a major artery commercial street, but also not exactly in the busiest center of town (that’s say, another 7-8 min walk further north). I absolutely intend to stay there again if/when I return to this town, although I can’t tell you which room # was the best situated, haha. Lastly, the inn manager “Little Fat” (小胖) was a delightful, friendly, and helpful host. The owner is lucky to have this young man communicate with and treat the guests as well as he does. I would believe it if this place is owned by his family (who knows). He’s always smiley and happy. Which water has he been drinking? 😉☺️ I don’t usually bother writing reviews to be honest, but this place deserves it.

We are family of 6 with 4 young kids, we have stayed at the Arro Khampa Hotel and it was a great experience. The stuff was exceptionally attentive, they all, especially Riccardo the Manager of the Hotel made sure we have everything we need and more, assist us organizing our trip at the area, answered every question. It was above and beyond service. The hotel itself is located at ShoueHe, which is a town very close to Lijiang but with the benefit of nature surrounding it. We walked around the town which was charming and pleasant. The rooms are very good on a western scale and the tea room is a gem. We highly recommend this place

Environment good cost-effective location is very convenient, the boss is also very enthusiastic, to arrange the pick up, driver teacher also special enthusiasm of lijiang is introduced, introduced the, every place have probably understanding travel is a good arrangement! You can also have tea and chat with your boss, naxi. It was in the old town, and it was quite close. There is a sparerib in the side of the food, which is also very special. It is convenient for you to go anywhere. The five-star recommendation is that lijiang must live in the ancient city, and li jiayuan is in the heart of the inn! Also sent a map, to explain! Come and stay here!

Due to delays and bad weather, my mother and I arrived in Lijiang from Shanghai after 14 hours of traveling. We were exhausted by the time we got to the hotel at 2am but we were very impressed by the handpicked utilities and extremely comfortable bed! The kindness of the hosts was beyond our expectation. Kaka was always there to answer any questions and reached out to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely visit this lovely family again in the future!

The Bivou Experience is something that you can't get it anywhere in Lijiang. Sure, there are so many hotels/hostels/home stays in Lijiang but none of them beats the hospitality that the bivou provides. When you arrive, you'll be greated by the warm smiles of the bivou employees. All of them are well versed in English and Mandarin. Right away, you'll see a long table with snacks awaiting you after your long flight into Lijiang. The check in was fast and they even bring your luggage into the right for you. The room is bright and looks spacious. Inside you'll receive a small welcome kit filled with useful stuffs that will help you in the brutal winter in Lijiang. The room is nicely decorated with heated floors, heated toilet seats and blankets. Everything you need to feel comfy after a whole day of hiking and walking around in Lijiang. Overall, the stay was amazing! Quick shoutout to Charlo and May who made the stay memorable and comfortable and also the bivou team!

Highly recommended. Certainly one of the best hotel experience I've had. This boutique hotel in the Lijiang Ancient Town (Gu Cheng) has everything u would need, Air-con with functioning heater, Good audio system, DVD, Wi-fi, and computer in the rooms! This hotel was formally an Art House! While keeping the historical design and feel, they renovated the bathroom with luxurious modern fittings! The hotel staffs were excellent, very friendly and helpful. They assisted us in all the things that we need, providing maps, recommending the places the go, things to take note of, and arranging for all our tours and transports! They could even arrange home cook dinner for you at the hotel. The only thing is to book your room/s early as there are only 9 rooms in this hotels and try to get those rooms in the 2nd level as there are less privacy and may be quite noisy for those rooms on the ground level.

the main downside or upside of the hotel is its location on hill. it is a 3-5 minutes walk uphill from the central square of old town which is buzzling. do not try to walk to hotel on your own as this hotel has no proper signage leading up to the entrance. it is recommend to arrange transfer with hotel as taxis cannot bring you through the pedestrianised old town. they would have to use the hilly road from the other side of the hill near the old town north entrance the panorama view in the morning and evening from the hotel is breaktaking with the mountain range surrounding the low rise tile roof of lijiang old town. the entire property was beautifully converted from an old house with courtyard and balcony. service is friendly and helpful. breakfast is made to order noodle soup or portridge. my room on the upper floor was gorgeous with a small star-gazing glass window on the roof top and a balcony with outdoor table and chairs. the interior design is quite similar to the chic contemporary room design of phnom penh's the 240 hotel, with natural light and local wood. the hotel offers an outside food delivery service which charges only rmb15 where you can order anything from the menu of half a dozen fast food restaurants like kfc, pizza hut and local chinese fast food chain. i ordered two items (no order limit) from the room's landline and within 30 minutes, the food was delivered to my room by the outside delivery guy! it was excellent way to settle into the room and have hot food delivered to you. this hotel is very popular with locals, so i could not even extend my stay after two nights since i enjoyed the place very much.

Friendly staff, nice design, clean and everything u find in a 5star hotel, u find it. Location is in an Alley, u have to call them once u reach shuhe as u don't want to spoil your lugguge wheels. Staff will come with the cart to carry ur lugguge in. is abt 10min walk from the north gate carpark, 指挥部 （zhihuibu)。No direct car access to most hotel there as is an ancient town. In English is lijiang huifeng, on the door entrance, they rename it as wu er. Entrance is zen design where u can see smoke appearing and the water step towards in. wooden decorated hotel & room. I am fussy abt toilet amd their toilet is modern style which I feel great. amenaties is full set with toothbrush etc, bonus washing detergent. No clothes hanger in toilet but thats ok. they have in the room. I was having free upgrade from them as previous booking was taken in but I still pay for what I booked for. The family 2bedroom has 2 rooms with huge bed that accomdate max 6 ppl I guess. the living room is awesome with teaset. First time I can stay in room without tv by the bed as I can fall asleep in their comfortable sandbag sofa. Sorry to cause plumbing to be activate, china toilet pipes issue.

This is the best hotel we had in LiJiang, even it looks like in country side, but is only 100m walk you can reach the biggest super market in Lijiang and also the ancient city. The only bad thing is the room is small for people who have big suitcase, however, the hotel staffs are very friendly and informative, we love the hotel so much, if i come back to Lijiang again, i will choose this hotel again
