Traveling to Italy? Find Salerno hotels

I booked the last 4 nights of our trip to Italy in Salerno due to a few factors, we needed to get to Rome for international flights and the train station is literally cross the road, but say 10 min walk, and also because it seemed cheaper than a lot of other places on the Amalfi coast. Im glad i made the decision!! Despite reading it is set up mostly for conferences, ( and there werw two huge ones during our stay), that didnt impact at all on us, our room was far away from any noise, and there was plenty of seating at breakfast (which was included, which was a surprise) We ended up finding an infomation counter which helped us with a lot of things like the 3 day bus pass for 16 euro, which went all the way up to sorrento. We did a few trips aroud the coast, it took 1.15hrs to get to amalfi, and the bus ride wasnt for the faint hearted! but after realising how isolated the coast was I was glad to retuen to salerno for more options for dinners, supermarkets etc. Its the only hotel I have been to in the world where youre required to wear a bathing cap. Which you can purchase from them, but the strange thing is it was material, not rubber/latex, so apart from the novelty factor for me I couldnt quite work it out! Our superior seaview room was spacious, and uninterruoted sea views, but if I had a choice I would opt for a balcony, ours had a ranch slider, but its so nice there in the evenings you want to be able to park up and enjoy the sunsets! We makeshift our own with the room chairs, but not quite the same! Helpful staff with maps etc of the town. Great hotel for the end of our holiday

I was there in July with teens. Rooms was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was middle level. This hotel is more for wedding or other type of big celebrations, than for holiday. Beach is about 1 km, but there is van shuttle (free). Beach is private and very comfortable. If you want to go to Salerno, there is an option to go by train (ca. 2.5 km to train station) and you can use shuttle van.

OK...it was my fault when I booked this hotel that I didn't check more thoroughly where it was. We were looking for a place to stay for one night after driving the Amalfi Coast I use Agoda all the time but missed how far out this one was. Really shouldn't have been come up on a Salerno search but that's not the hotels fault. What a nice place? Very pretty. Great pool - you do have to wear a swimming cap to use it....but a lovely pool with good seating and a pool bar (where you can also buy your caps) Lovely room. Plenty of space - we had a family triple Nice facilities. 10 minutes stroll to the beach & restaurants although you can have a set menu dinner at the hotel for €22 - we weren't that hungry. In the middle of all the ruins. Lovely breakfast. The staff were truly lovely.

It was a great experience staying at La Madegra Sea Suites. They were very accommodating with our late check-in, gave us a tour of the room, and helped us keep our luggages after we checked out so that we could continue touring without baggage. The room was very clean, and we loved that there was hot water with the right amount of pressure. There was also complimentary minibar and breakfast. We especially loved waking up to a view of the sea. Salerno was peaceful and non-touristy. We enjoyed ourselves here. Highly recommended as it is value for money and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

We arrived from Rome via train. We were picking up a rental car in the morning and needed a convenient place to stay for the night and this facility fit the bill perfectly. Extremely close to the train station & rental car company (less than 5 minute walk). The place was clean, the staff met us at the front to let us in,. Places to eat were in close proximity. We were completely satisfied with our experience!

Located within three blocks of the railway station so easy to walk with luggage through a paved main shopping area which is safe. The guesthouse is four rooms in a historic apartment block and has a elevator or three flights of stairs. The rooms are spacious, very bright and light with large doors opening onto a small balcony. Plenty of room for luggage. Each room has a quiet air conditioning unit. The bathroom was very large and modern with all amenities. Hairdryer, soap basic toiletries. There is a bar fridge and safe in the closet. The breakfast area is beautiful and the food is very good - savoury and sweet. Plenty of juice and water available. The two brothers who own Il Reticolo are very helpful and have all the information on train and ferry times. We really enjoyed our stay as Salerno was perfect for us as we wanted to do day trips to all the towns on the Amalfi coast and Capri and visit Herculenean and Pompei. Would highly recommend

we chose to stay in salerno to visit the amalfi coast, which we did a day driving tour of. salerno is a nice coastal town, not really a tourist town as such because a bit bigger and not right on amalfi coast. the hotel itself is ok, a little different in that its more like a bar/restaurant with rooms upstairs. the rooms were fine, good size and clean. despite being on top of bar our room was not too noisy. staff very good, even those whose English was not great were still able to get job done. the town itself is ok, there is a nice waterfront walk and an old quarter with churches and little bars / shops. all in all, a good value option in salerno. ps. we had dinner in the restaurant the first night there, it was a little expensive, ended up being 100 euro with a good bottle of wine etc, but the food was excellent and plenty of it too....possibly our favourite meal during 1 month in Europe.

Really enjoyed our stay. Would suggest to friends. PROS: - absolutely brand new, modern fittings - strong hot and cold shower - 5min from Salerno train station - Situated on the high street and 10min walk to old town - 10min from Salerno Bus Stop where SITA buses drop you off - Breakfast included at a classy cafe by the waterfront, good quality bakes and juices. Will do take away if you're leaving early the next morning CONS: - standard Italian housing buildings, bit complicated to get in to and some addresses on google aren't right - rooms are small but that is commonplace in Italy - rarely staff on duty, you're on your own for most of it so it did seem more airbnb than a hotel. We didn't need them but if we did...

Although the hosts were nice, it was not a great stay as our apartment was not part of the main property. The breakfast "included" is very disappointing, they give milk and a croissant which is not really breakfast. The apartment was clean but entering the apartment was a pain, the damn doors dont open or close and we had literally apply all our strength. I would not recommend this place.

We had a nice and helpful welcome. We only stayed one night as we were passing through in order to see the ruins. A pizza restaurant was recommended which was within walking distance near the temples, this restaurant also served gluten free pizza. The breakfast was in a nice dining room but was limited if you have a gluten free diet. It was an ideal place to stay if visiting the ruins.

i felt vacation has started once i checked in this hotel. It was my first stop after Rome on my way to the Amalfi Coast roadtrip. Chilled little cute place right on the beach. Salerno is a very relaxed place and this hotel is gives you the best of it. Staff was extremely attentive and welcoming, free parking, right on the beach and the owner is very cool. Hope to be back again.

the stay was perfect. The nature, the food, the hospitality of the city and especially the warmth hearted hospitality from the family. They made all our requests possible from renting bike, car and to pick us up at the station from and Roma. U can order food at night as long u say it some time before. They use the food from their own farm family recepies. It was simply amazing. It was a stay of the " real" Italy feeling not to mention a ton og sightseeing of the old greece and Italy. I had a totally satisfactory experience at B&B Verdi. The manager Veronica was accommodating in all requests and gave plenty of advice for exploring Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. The B&B is a few minutes away from a pier where boats to the Amalfi Coast leave once a day (for a more complete service, another pier is easily reachable by bus or with a 20-minutes walk). Salerno's historic centre is a few steps away. All in all, a great choice at a very competitive price.

My husband and I only stayed one night but it was a perfect....the Paestum, Archaeological ruins are literally behind the Guest House, which made sightseeing super easy and convenient. Very close to great restaurants. The room was cozy and warm with a very comfortable bed. If you're passing through for a night or two, Casa Rubini is a perfect and inexpensive way to go!

La Garconniere was a very neat and tidy B&B in a very central location in Salerno. The B&B created a lovely environment with French Prov. style decor in a cosy and quiet apartment. The staff are very friendly and explain everything to you once you arrive, with a choice of sweet or savoury breakfast (with home-cooked cakes). The B&B is located just off a busy shopping strip which is great for dinner, bars and shopping (and is only a 3 minute walk from the sea). Only issues to mention were that the wifi was not particularly good in our room, and the terrace was adjoined to the neighbours' windows. Otherwise this was a very quaint stay that I would recommend.

This B&b is centrally located in Salerno. Few minutes walk to the train station, ferry, shopping, sites and restaurants. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We only stayed for one night transiting to Naples. Loved accessibility to the kitchen with a large fridge, also to be able to use the toaster, coffee machine, stove and to be able to enjoy a snack in the little dining area instead of the bedroom. The wifi and aircon worked perfectly. Well equipped with toiletries even toothpaste! The b&b had fresh fragrance and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!

Our host Enzo is outstanding . we are overwhelmed by his hospitality. he picked us from rail station and show us the city in a short trip. we felt we were staying in a home away from home . he has helped us to plan our entire Italy trip . the guest House is located in a very convenient area of the town surrounded by many good eateries. if ever I visit Salerno again ,I will looking forward to stay in the same place.
