"We stayed in this hotel because we want to visit NECC. This hotel not far (by taxi) so it's convenient. Hotel room is clean (which fulfill our expectation and dismiss our concern about cleanliness in China) and new. Across hotel there are shops and food sellars, not difficult to find food. We got a lot of help from hotel receptionist named Mr Allan/ Allen Wu (if not mistaken). He help with everything we need; questions about direction, helping us ordering taxis, guarantee etc. He is very very kind, although he was very busy with many things. Unfortunately we could not say thank you to him because he is serving other people in the reception. We are very thankful and whoever read this, please mention to him. We are Indonesian couple with baby daughter stayed during Aquatech water conference. Anytime you (Mr Allan) are in Jakarta, Indonesia please reach us in my email stephaniesurya@yahoo.com. "

"I requested 2 connecting rooms when I booked the rooms online, but "No" when I checked in. I requested 2 connecting rooms for my second visit at the reception counter, make sure I can get the connecting rooms for my second visit, but "No" at my second visit as well. So, better don't show "special request" column. The cardkey didn't work for my parents' room several times at my second visit, need to improve! Besides the above, the room is clean every visit, the bell service is good. The internet is slow as usual, and need to pay for it which is free at the most of the Shanghai hotels. Overall, it is a good hotel with the reasonable price. "

"I booked the hotel for my family and friends on their way to my wedding in China. Despite a lot of confusion over the bookings, and a mistake on the part of the hotel, they were very accommodating and solved the problem quickly. The art deco design of the hotel is interesting and historic, and the rooms were larger than I expected given it's central location. They didn't have breakfast included in our bookings, which was disappointing, but they are extremely convenient to street breakfast, Starbucks, and other nicer places to eat (for other meals as well). Their convenient location to Line 2 made for an easy transition between Pudong airport, Hongqiao airport/train station, and Shanghai Railway station, as well as easy access to sites and nightlife on Line 1, and minimal taxi rides to other locations. It's also a comfortable and enjoyable walk to the Bund. All-in-all, I think this hotel, booked at about 100 USD per room (both twin/double were more or less the same price), was well worth the price based on it's great service, fantastic location, and comfortable accommodations."

"Booked this place in 2 min as I was next in line for the transit immigration officer and wanted to have a place to show. I am glad I did instead of booking the higher end places. The hotel has the best location I could ask for, 2 blocks from MRT in central Bund walking distance to Nanjing Lu and to all nightlife in the neighborhood. Moreover the room was quite comfortable, I was coming from Hong Kong and this felt like a 5 starts compared to those shitty hotels in Central. The staff also was super friendly and even bumped me up in the hotel. This is now my default place to stay at Shanghai and I look forward to the next time."

"One of the most traditional hotels in Shanghai, great location with public transportation. Friendly staff if you speak chinese. Good value for the price. We requested a baby bed and got it without any problem. Iissue 1: NO wifi or internet in the hotel (only in th bar against fee, and the speed is slow) Issue 2: Upstairs to the main entrance, if you have a buggy, have to request the staff to drive the elevator down to the travel agency. I will definitely come again."

"Architecture and history buffs will love Bund Circle and spend hours researching its four spledid Art Deco buildings. The hotel interior is renovated 'Art Deco' - need I say more? - but the room we had was spacious and very well-appointed. The staff were very helpful indeed. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from East Nanjing Road metro station, that has connections to Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport and Railway Station. We can't comment on the hotel's dining room as we prefer to eat out. Down the road are local dumpling and noodle restaurants, and in the next block is Shanghai Grandmother - a bright and cheerful restaurant that sells authentic local food to tourists - not many Europeans, most tourists in China are Chinese. For many people, Jiangsu cuisine is China's finest, with its subtle, harmonious flavours and gentle (in Shanghai, not so gentle) sweetness. And next door is 'House of Blues and Jazz', a fantastic late night out - bands play from around 9.30. 50RMB cover charge"
