First of all, I think it’s better to avoid this place if you are expecting a refined five-star resort. For example, if you don’t mind cleaning up by yourself when the corners of the room are not thoroughly cleaned, or if bugs happen to drift into the room, or if you can think that having hot water is better than low water pressure in the shower, then you should be fine. The above are my personal experiences (facts), but I understood that it's just rural island life. I can imagine that other accommodations in Rantanga are similar based on reviews. The staff is very friendly. Personally, I liked the cozy atmosphere here, which is not a refined resort, but felt like coming back home! Coconut Lagoon is divided into East Wing and West Wing, and you can walk about five minutes along the paved jungle path to go between them. When I stayed in July 2023, only the West Wing was being used and the East Wing seemed to be for staff. However, the dive center located in the East Wing is in operation. The West Wing has four types of accommodations: Executive Deluxe (3rd floor with a sea view!), Deluxe (2nd floor with less sea view), Family Room (3rd floor with a sea view), and Cabana (Beach Front), but it seems that only Executive Deluxe and Deluxe can be booked through Agoda. The other two types are only available for direct booking. I tried snorkeling right in front of the West Wing beach, and I had a great time. Afterwards, I also participated in a boat snorkeling tour around the island hosted by the owner (MYR40/person) and boat diving (MYR120/1 dive), but the snorkeling on the beach right in front of me was just as enjoyable. If I come back to Rantanga, I plan to stay here again. Thank you!
