Terrific & so accommodating!”
From the moment you walk into the Fairmont Beijing hotel, you know you’re in good hands. The lobby, lounge and workout facilities are impressive! I arrived early and the front desk staff were generous enough to get me into a room. To be honest, this is the second time they did this for me and I’m just a tourist not a business guest. My room was spacious and clean. The only pitfall, is the lighting in the bathroom by the mirror, it’s not bright enough. I splurged & stayed on the gold floor.... I wanted to have an evening cocktail & breakfast in the hotel. Here again, the staff were so kind, eager to assist and smiling ( that’s a big deal) with nice spoken English and engaging! Thank you Gold floor staff. Checking out was easy and the bell boys made sure the taxi driver knew exactly what terminal to take me, not once but twice! Fairmont Beijing Hotel, you should be very proud of your Chinese staff, they were outstanding in their jobs!

Excellent experience”
My wife and two young children just spent 3 enjoyable nights at the Fairmont Beijing. We stayed in a Fairmont gold jr suite. While our expectations were high, the hotel and its staff made this stay extremely memorable. My kids and wife loved the suite which was clean and fresh, along with our time spent in the gold lounge. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing. Access to the subway was right around the corner and the staff helped fulfilling all our requests with a smile on their face. I am not one to usually write a review but our experience needs to be shared with people thinking about staying here. I will definitely stay here again next time in Beijing.

The best concierge service ever!”
We really liked everything about our stay at the Fairmont Beijing. It was the first Fairmont we'd stayed in, and now we are looking forward to staying in other Fairmonts around the world. We had a fabulous room, which we learned was a standard room, and was very affordable. The food in the hotel's restaurant was very good, especially the evening buffet. The staff is excellent on all levels, including the charming manager who is fun to talk to, partly because he has a great sense of humor. Best of all was Apple, the head concierge and the most extraordinary one we've ever encountered among all of those we've met in the past. She is infinitely patient, answering all of our questions, writing destinations in Mandarin, annotating maps and arranging transportation to the Great Wall. She's also an excellent guide to local restaurants, has a great personality, and a terrific team. Beijing is a complicated city, particularly if you don't speak Mandarin. Having a great concierge is essential!

Amazing hotel deserving of #1 in China!”
we had a 1 night stay at the fairmont beijing and it certainly lived up to expectations - and then some! our room on the gold floor was amazing - we were very impressed by the quality of all the fittings, accessories, etc in the room and it was truly enormous! the staff were very attentive, and it was well worth paying the extra for the gold floor - complimentary food served in the gold lounge was delicious, complimentary cocktails, as well as tea, coffee and snacks at all hours were provided for. the free breakfast was particularly tasty - the mini pastries and danishes deserve special mention! we had dinner at lunar 8 restaurant from the sushi bar, and (although we've never been to japan) it was the best sushi we've ever eaten. we also had room service delivered to the door, and the staff were immensely helpful with any requests we had. overall the hotel felt more like a boutique establishment with the attention to detail and staff service. truly an amazing experience!

Best value of Beijing five stars”
Staff was incredible. Helpful in translation, reservations and accommodations. Lost a smartphone in a cab upon arrival and before even checking-in, they contacted the cab driver and he was on his way back to return the phone. That night was Thanksgiving and was nearly ruined until downstairs at the restaurant they were serving turkey dinner. Hell yes! The room was immaculate, real marble floors and bathroom, which featured a window from the tub to the rest of the room, very sexy indeed. The rooms along with the entire hotel feature air purifiers to filter out the pollution from outside. I only wish I had more time to stay and try all of the other amenities at the Fairmont Beijing. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Fairmont Hotel is a high standard hotel. It is close to the Silk Markets and subway. Easy for local contacts to access for pick ups. Very comfortable rooms with better than standard facilities. Restaurants were high quality but pricey. I would stay there again on my next trip to Beijing

Nice hotel and great location”
I am a business traveler and spent 3 days at the Fairmont Beijing, staying in a Junior Suite on the Gold Level. The room was spacious, furnished tastefully and comfortably -- huge bed, comfortable seating area, and also business friendly good-size desk with outlets for charging electronics (Ipads, PCs, phones). The bathroom was very luxurious, with a very large stall shower and separate tub, as well as double sinks. Location was convienent to shoppings and also subways.

Worth every penny”
This review comes 9 months late, but better late than never. I proposed to my wife at this hotel. Before my proposal, Tommy Yang, the in-room dining manager, worked together with me for one whole month to make sure my proposal would be perfect. On top of that, he personally served our in-room meal. The result was a priceless night that my wife and I will never forget. Kudos to Fairmont and Tommy!

Good but not great.”
The first 2 nights were great in terms of service. Special mention to the staff at the Gold Lounge. Then again, come to think of it, service should be better there because we paid extra for that. During our last night, however, we felt that service was not consistent. Housekeeping didn't bother to do their usual turndown service. Conceirge was not able to get us taxi when we requested one. Worse, the guys at the ground floor reception refused to change our USD allegedly because our bills had small marks on them. They said these bills will not be accepted by local banks. This was after accepting similarly marked bills that we exchanged during our first two days. I even showed the receipt that the hotel issued for the second time we exchanged USD bills. I work for a bank and I know that the rule on not accepting bills with markings is so outdated. They honestly believe that banks will refuse money from a big hotel chain such as Fairmont only because they have small marks? Those two guys at the reception on the night of Aug. 23, 2014 were rude and even tried to refuse to change our Philippine Peso bills. These bills didn't even have marks. This ruined our view of Fairmont Beijing. We will definitely think twice before we decide to stay with them again the next time we visit Beijing. Besides, they do not have the best location for guests to go around by foot.

Excellent hotel, I had been travelling for 5 days and stayed in small rooms in Hong Kong and elsewhere so went for this five star in Beijing. as expected, excellent service, English speaking cooperative staff. Ideal for business meetings in CBD area and easy access to transport and then for shopping. I would recommend this hotel for any stay in Beijing.

With an almost half price deal from Agoda I extended my stay from one night to three. A 5* hotel and it shows, with extremely well appointed rooms and exceptionally friendly caring staff. Nothing was too much trouble. My bags were stored after checkout until I needed a taxi to the airport and I was also welcome to use the spa before I left. The location is spot on, only a couple of mins from line 1on the subway and Tian'Amen square is in walking distance should you prefer. Thank you Agoda, because without the deal I would not have been able to enjoy this touch of luxury before heading home to the UK

Central in Beijing the Fairmont was very nice, with excellent service. A little pricey, maybe because it is so central. Five minutes walk to the famous or should I say infamous Silk Market Rooms clean and well appointed, staff very polite and though they speak english I found at times very difficult to make myself understood, especially with room service.

in a city as intense as beijing, the best option you can pick as you are always welcome by smiles and readiness to be pampered and oriented. on arrival, at the gold lounge we were upgraded to a suite. there are no words to describe such perfection and excellent taste and service both in room and in the lounge. as i said,,the best option in a city as beijing where you need this calm and well being when you arrive from so much hustle and bustle.
