Staff converses well in English. Room is comfortable. The auto night light near the toilet is useful. Travelers may check with the hotel on its heater/air con operations season. 1 stop from Seoul station if use AREX All stops train. The hotel charges for late checkout at KRW11,000/hr at the time of my stay. The lift lobby is at L9. Although there are lifts that bring you directly to your room floor with the tap of your room key, the wait can be long at times. There is a 7-11 near the lobby. The housekeeping failed to place the bathroom mat when we checked in. Was promptly provided when we requested. But still it’s not expected. The power sockets at the working table has very poor design. You may not be able to use it because somehow the design blocks access to the USB inlet on the travel adaptor. The same happens to the sockets by the side of the bed. Also at times the wooden cover may knock the adapter off. Perhaps this explains why adapters are placed at the lobby.
Convenient location, above Gongdeok station, Exit 9. If it's rainy outside, you won't even get wet walking from the train to the hotel. Very easy to take the A'Rex All Stop (local) train from/to ICN (50+ minute ride) or GMP. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. They provided an additional portable air filter in room. Good to splurge and get the 1bdrm suite so you'll have plenty of room to spread out or work. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The seafood buffet restaurant in the hotel lobby (which is on the 9th fl) was packed for dinner most nights. We walked in to check out the selections which looked delicious, but we were looking for a lighter meal so did not partake. Will try it next time. Plenty of other very good restaurants across the street or within a few blocks south of the hotel. There's an excellent & inexpensive Korean restaurant, Wondang Gamja-tang, 2 blocks away, opened 24 hours with great food. Two people can have a great meal for less than KRW20,000 (USD$15)! Would definitely recommend the GLAD Mapo to anyone visiting Seoul.
The hotel's location is excellent, and is probably the main reason I would recommend it to others. It is right outside 2 exits of Gongdeok station, and the station itself is relatively quiet and peaceful even on weekends. Yet, it is only one stop away from major shopping areas like Seoul station and Hongdae, making it a great place to stay while in Seoul. The airport limousine bus stop was just a short walk away from the hotel as well, and there are 3 buses heading to the airport, which made it a breeze to get to the airport on time. However, the room itself was more cramped than we would have liked, and there were several items that were faulty (e.g., plug outlet, drawer). Front desk was efficient but largely soulless and missing warmth. There was a 7-11 on the lobby level, and a gym that was fairly well-equipped and clean, which we appreciated.

It's a great place to be if you like to be near Hongdae but away from the crowd. Just a station away from Hongdae and it's so much quieter here, with a lot of delicious restaurants around as well. Just right outside exit 9 of gongdeok as well, you won't even need to drag your luggages up staircases and long roads! Firstly, I would like to compliment the ladies who help to make up the room during my stay. They were really good at their job ensuring that the room was clean every day. The lady even arranged my shampoo bottles neatly in a line. So cute really! GLAD also uses amazing shampoo & soap. I'm someone who usually bring my own shampoo & soap but I gave mine up and used theirs instead. I also bought their body wash because it smelled so good! For those that are planning to work remotely while you are in Korea, GLAD is really the best hotel I ever stayed that provided me stable connection whenever I had to go on video calls. Brought along a LAN cable but in the end didnt have to use it as all. The gym is open 24hrs and decently equipped. There's also a creative lounge whereby there are MAC desktops for use. I used both of the facilities and really enjoyed it. Lastly, the staff are amazing and I really enjoyed my stay here! Will be back!
