A very pleasant stay in Shanghai”
My child and I spent one night at Hotel Nikko Shanghai and had a very comfortable experience there. A team of caring and friendly staff is ready to assist us whenever we need help. The room is spacious, clean and modern; it's equipped with state of the art facilities, guest can watch TV while having bath. Electronic curtain, docks for i-devices, USB I/O plugs and chargers are all ready for use. A desk with internet access and power sockets is good for business traveler. Safe, iron and iron board are all available in the room. A great location with easy access to the subway station by 6-8 mins of easy walk. It's a very enjoyable stay for us; and both my child and I would definitely come back to this hotel if we are travelling to Shanghai again.

This hotel is a hidden gem, don't miss it!”
though the hotel location is not well known even to the locals, this is a very nice western style 5-star business traveler hotel. the room is exceptional spacious, comfortable work station with multiple electrical outlets, good bathroom setup, nice rain shower, and a water proof tv flatwall mounted. hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained. my business colleague also enjoyed his stay and the spa facility. seafood buffet was not too impressive but the breakfast buffet is a nice feast. we both will return to hotel nikko shanghai in the future.

Fantastic Hotel”
stayed for a total of 5 nights, bed was first class comfort level, excellent overall room and bath facilities. Hotel room temperature was just nice given the cold weather. Room make-up service was executed detaily and promptly. I left 900RMB on the desk and came back 3 hours later with the cash left intact after room make-up service. Customer Service was very helpful and detailed. It is increasingly tough not to stay in Nikko when i visit Shanghai again.

My favorite hotel in shanghai !!!”
Favorite hotel in shanghai, been to mandarin, ritz, etc... all great hotels, but Nikko is my favorite Internet can get expensive if not included. Buffet / Breakfast is lavish and delicious, if you can have it included you are in for a treat, also easy to eat healthy and adhere to dietary requirements.

Good hotel except a bit far from subway”
Nikko is one of my regular favorite hotels. I've stayed in Nikko Shanghai a couple of times, less often than I would love to due to its distance from subway. On top of that, the overall staff service/friendliness of Nikko Shanghai is average at best compared to other Nikkos I have stayed in China and outside China.

Outstanding room size and decor”
stayed here during a pricing promotion so my value for money review is going to be higher. english check-in was ok. got a bit more difficult when trying to ask for a temporary residence registration form. check-in experience was soon forgotten when i saw the room. absolutely fantastic in size, layout and decoration. tv in the bathroom was a nice touch. i could absolutely see myself staying there for extended periods of time very comfortably. even facing the road, noise insulation was good, better than most local apartments in shanghai. slept through the night without problem. wifi at 100rmb is the only downside.

Nicely decorated hotel room in a good location!”
Hotel Nikko is located on the main Ya'an West Road (延安西路), and it is just a 10minutes walk away from the western end of the famous Nanjing West Road (南京西路), so in terms of location, I would say that it is quite good, although Ya'an Road is usually rather jammed up. The rooms are newly furnished with excellent design, and the bed is very comfortable. I am particularly pleased with the japanese style toilet bowls that comes with a heated seat. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't come with wifi, which means you have to be confined to the working desk to get connection, but the hotel assured me that they are rolling out Wifi in the near future!

Hotel Nikko Shanghai”
I had high expectation to this hotel before this trip since it's nikko, but my experience definitely exceeded my expectation. The story begins with the reception upgrading me my room with a jacuzzi, Niceeee..... Everything in the room is clean and perfect condition. Comfy bed, iPod dock, Sony LCD tv... Etc. The breakfast buffet is absolutely one of the best ones I've seen. Good job nikko, will definitely come back again.

Excellent room and value for money”
I managed to get a fantastic rate for the Nikko, and although the location is slightly further away from JingAn than hotels like the Puli Resort and Spa, I decided to give it a go. The interior is very good, especially when one escapes the slightly themeless lobby into the lifts and the elegant corridors above. They gym is good, the pool quiet and the room itself excellent. The room layout is fine with good connectivity and a comfortable chair and desk layout. Floor to ceiling windows allow lots of light and I was comfortable to work for hours at a time without feeling claustrophobic. I shall be back!

All good!”
No complaints about the Nikko. Good location on Yanan Rd., staff are excellent and I found the room very well appointed. The only negative is no free WiFi, which is not unique to the Nikko. Too may hotels in Asia, outside Japan, want to rip guests off by charging, what I call, a basic service. However, a starbucks is close by, so you can solve this problem with a latte.

New hotel with huge size rooms and good failities”
Owned by JAL group, the hotel is new with huge rooms and newly furnished. Good location and good amenities. The Japanese restaurant has excellent Teiseki set menu at reasonable price. As it i new, the promotional rate is hard to beat for all other 5 stars establishment in Shanghai. However, as it is new not many taxi drivers know the hotel by name. Highly recommended!

Nikko Hotel”
This was the first time I stayed in Nikko hotel. Overall I was impressed. This hotel is quite new. Only complain I have is the service for the conference room rental. I did call a day before I check in to reserve the conference room. The service staff confirmed with me for small conference room rental at RMB150/hour, for two hours rental. But the time I check in, service staff told me it was not available anymore. I have to pay RMB400/hour for bigger conference room. Other than that, it was a good hotel to stay.

Contemporary hotel - Great deal for Shanghai”
Very nice hotel with a little Japanese penchant. It is conveniently located next to the city center and Yan'An Lu is the key road to go anywhere in the city. The furniture is what you would expect in a minimal interior design and very pleasant. Colors are neutral and relaxing. Overall cleanliness is good. I love it when I do my pushups and the carpet looks clean from so close! Rooms are the right size and offer an office corner. I found my bed to be a tad too soft on the side of the phone (the one everybody uses). I have back problems and have become supersensitive. You may not even notice. Entertainment freaks will love the tv set behind the tub mirror. Gym is superb. The personnel is friendly and will gladly help you with the unruly Shanghai taxi drivers. Breakfast is multi-region and you'll definitely find what suits you.

Hotel Nikko”
I stayed at the Hotel Nikko in Shanghai for 4 nights. The hotel must have been built very recently, as all fixtures & decor were excellent. The room was superb with some of the most comfortable beds that I have slept in. All mod cons were present, a fantastic bathroom with one of those Japanese bum washing toilets. I've never had the pleasure of using one before, but I can report that it cleaned and dried my ringpeice with military precision - very enjoyable. Massive Sony TV with loads of good channels, overall certainly one of the nicest hotel rooms that I have stayed in. Now for the bad bits. Virtually impossible to get a cab at times, the Taxi drivers don't seem to know that the hotel exists, so often standing around waiting for a cab, whilst the hotel staff run around the front drive trying to flag down a cab from the main road, also little or no system for those waiting. Breakfast is excellent, but you must get there before 8:30am, otherwise it can be a long drawn out affair trying to get a table, cup of coffee, glass, plate, or any of the other essential items one expects for breakfast. It can also be quite difficult trying to order a fudge brownie with ice cream, even when I resorted to pointing at the menu, ice cream with fruit was served instead, the staffs English is not great, I must in future learn to speak Mandarin Chinese fluently, in several of its dialects if I wish to eat a fudge brownie at the Nikko again. To top off the stay I needed to check out quite early only to find in the morning that the maid had forgotten to replenish the towels. Overall, a very nice modern hotel, with typical Chinese service standards.

Love the hotel so much”
this hotel really make my stay valuable. even though the room is not big, but it include everything we need and the features are great. love the design and the buffet. the food is nice and if you have your buffet after 8pm, it only cost half price. really worth it and we will definitely live here if we come shanghai again.

Good location, Service could be better”
An Austrian couple, we went to Shanghai to visit our daughter for 2 weeks. We chose Nikko Hotel because it is close to her workplace and to the city center. Short walk to Metro station line 2 brings you almost everywhere in Shanghai. We arrived at 9 am and paid for an extra 1/2 day for early check-in. We had a premier deluxe room on the 22nd floor, which provided a nice view to the city. The room was clean and spacious, but not many storage room for our clothes. Not many drawers, so we had to keep most of our stuff in the suitcases. We chose the hotel also because it was listed with outdoor pool. Unfortunately there is none. The pictures show the garden area with garden pool. The indoor pool is quite ok. Also nice spa but according to hotel category rather expensive. Main problem is that for an international hotel, the staff is rarely capable of speaking english, even in the business center. a lot of trainees who keep talking to you in CHinese even if you tell them that you don't understand. We had dinner at our first evening in the Chinese restaurant at the hotel, which was a challenge, since you could only orde via IPad and the software was also chinese only :-). All in all, average value for money, if not for the location close to our daugther, there are alternatives.

Great value and extremely comfortable bed”
I arrived in late after a business meeting in Pudong and realized that I made my reservation for the wrong date. Rather than leave me in the lobby waiting, the front desk went ahead and let me check-in first . I was staying at the Renaissance in Pudong for the first leg of my trip and had horrible sleep. My last night at Hotel Nikko and I slept like a baby. I slept so well that I requested a late check out and let me check out at 2pm.
