The interior, based on white and gold, was lovely and made me feel like I was experiencing something out of the ordinary. The toilet and bath were separate, and there was a sense of cleanliness. The indoor cleaning was also thorough. The bed sheets were clean. It was nice to find a straight hair iron available. However, the age and slight damage in the hotel room were somewhat noticeable. The damage was quite surprising as I saw it immediately when the elevator opened on the 15th floor: the wall of the corridor was mirrored but cracked. Inside the room, the cover of the outlet near the bed was coming off, so it's best to be careful and not pull it forcefully when plugging or unplugging. I'm not sure if toothbrushes were not provided initially, but after searching, I couldn't find one, so I bought my own toothbrush and toothpaste. It was convenient as there was a Seven-Eleven convenience store right next to the hotel. The hotel location was just a few minutes' walk from Hapjeong Station, which was not a hassle. Overall, the room looked good and I was very satisfied.

Best location to stay for a night of partying in Seoul. It is near all the clubs. This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel. I legit had the same exact room which was funny. Strong AC. Standard room pretty cool. Has a US plug port which is great. Adapters at the front desk available. The suites are amazing. Nice views. Only thing I would change is updating the furniture in the rooms. In January & in the same exact room in May; my closet pole was broken off, the blow dryer blew out and started smoking. The furniture and the cabinets are old, the dressers wood is chipping and bubbling up causing water damage. Other than that it’s in a nice area next to all the food, bars, and clubs
The room was spacious enough The view was amazing the location is close to Hongdae bubbling neighborhood. The stuff at the reception was very nice. I just didn't like the cleanliness of the room. They were some debris on the floor in corners. And the floor actually always looked doubtful. We were not aware as Foreigner that all the room lights and air con could be controlled on from the remote control of the TV. No instruction in English. If the management could fix this little problems the they would be pretty good. But the price was quite high for the service render.
매우 비위생적인 객실 – 받아들일 수 없는 청결 상태와 무책임한 응대 저희는 호텔 더 디자이너스 홍대에 체크인했으나, 객실의 위생 상태가 전혀 받아들일 수 없는 수준이라는 것을 곧바로 확인했습니다. 큰 창문은 안쪽에 지문이 가득했고, 방 곳곳에는 검은 머리카락이 떨어져 있었으며, 변기 시트 아래에는 명백한 대변 자국이 남아 있었습니다. 객실이 오랫동안 제대로 청소되지 않았다는 것이 명확했습니다. 첫날 호텔을 나설 때 박준형 직원에게 이 문제를 정중하게 알리고 철저한 청소를 요청했습니다. 그러나 저녁에 돌아왔을 때는 머리카락만 치워졌을 뿐, 변기의 오염은 그대로였습니다. 다음 날 아침, 저는 매니저와의 면담을 요청했으나 거절당했습니다. 대신 박준형 직원이 직접 확인하겠다고 했습니다. 그러나 그로부터 24시간이 지나 다시 객실로 돌아와 보니 청소는 전혀 이루어지지 않았고, 변기도 여전히 오염된 상태였습니다. 다시 한번 항의한 후에야 다른 객실로 변경해 주었지만, 이 과정에서 진심 어린 사과는 전혀 받지 못했습니다. 이 후기는 객실 내의 스크래치나 낡은 시설에 대한 불만이 아닙니다. 이는 장기간 청소되지 않은 명백한 위생 문제에 대한 정당한 지적입니다. 직원들의 대응은 책임감 없이 형식적이었고, 매우 실망스러웠습니다. 청결과 기본적인 서비스에 민감하신 분들께는 이 호텔을 전혀 추천드릴 수 없습니다. ⸻ 🇬🇧 Englisch Extremely unhygienic room – unacceptable conditions and unresponsive staff We checked into Hotel The Designers Hongdae and were immediately confronted with a completely unacceptable level of cleanliness. The large window was smeared with fingerprints on the inside, black hairs were scattered throughout the room, and the underside of the toilet seat was visibly stained with feces. It was obvious that this room hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. We politely reported this issue to Mr. Park Jun Hyung upon leaving the hotel on the first day and asked for a thorough cleaning. When we returned in the evening, the hairs had been removed, but the toilet remained in the exact same dirty condition. The next morning, I requested to speak to the manager, but this was denied. Mr. Park Jun Hyung assured us again that he would personally follow up on the cleaning. However, another 24 hours later, we returned to find the room still untouched and the toilet still uncleaned. Only after a renewed complaint were we moved to a different room – without any proper apology or explanation. This review is not about wear and tear or scratches – which were also present – but about deeply rooted dirt and clear signs of neglect. The staff’s response was evasive and far from professional. If you care even slightly about cleanliness and responsible customer service, I cannot recommend this hotel under any circumstances.

pros: located nearer hapjeong, but walking distance to hongdae. airport bus is across the road so it is convenient. hapjeong station about 5 minutes walk away. - bed is comfortable but pillows are a little too soft. cons: -the room is very small, you can only open one luggage, not sure how a couple can open 2 luggages. - the hallway is very dimly lit with no airconditioning. there’s no clear signages on which level you are on. had got off on the wrong floor twice because of their staff who was using it. it’s okay for them to use the lift to do their job but at least let the guest know what floor it is. the lift only announces the floor in korean, which can be easy to miss since it’s not my first language. - room aircon seems erratic and difficult to control the temperature. i woke up in the middle of the night many times, both shivering and sweating. - bathroom has no shower curtain, so when you shower everything gets wet. would be good if they could install a shower curtain. - lack of place to hang clothes. you are only given 3 hooks in a row. - fridge malfunction. fridge short circuited ? temporarily overnight. it was not cold and the items condensed. luckily i didn’t have much in the fridge. also there was an ice cream leftover from previous guest. - no shelter to stations/ bus stop. if you are visiting during rainy season maybe choose another hotel. this hotel is 2 star on naver so i was not expecting too much and overall it was an okay stay. i booked late so it was definitely not worth the price i paid.
