Hotels near Bund International Architecture Exhibition

I stayed at this hotel for few days. i would stay in this hotel again for following reasons : 1. Great location - right at the bund. 2. Awesome view - If you are going to book this hotel, make sure that you book the room with Bund View. Rooms with bund view are the most worthwhile as it gives you real spectacular view of Shanghai. 3. Decent size room - Do not expect a big room. But, the room size is decent and clean. I love the bathtub which allows you to soak with Bund view at the same time. 4. Very comfortable bed 5. Decent breakfast. - breakfast is not bad with normal selections of hotel food. 6. Convenience store right opposite the hotel and another at the shop lots next to the hotel. Areas for improvement 1. Customer service - they are generally helpful and polite. However, it could be better if the staffs are more forthcoming, proactive and more welcoming. It may be local culture. But, when you compare to customer service in countries like Thailand, Taiwan, staffs here can be more friendly. (i.e. smile more, greet more, come forward more readily to help) 2. More selections for local food/delights in their breakfast menu. 3. More power points near the bed. When you want to charge your phone before sleep, your phone will have to placed away from bed as there are no powerpoints next to your bed. Things can't be changed and may negate the good aspects of this hotel : 1. Too small entrance - entrance for cars is so small. Door men do try their best to help you secure cab bookings but sometimes, the wait can be quite long. So, do plan your trip ahead by going to the lobby to ask for a cab like 10-15 mins ahead as cab may only come after 5-10 mins. 2. Slightly far from MRT station - around 500m walk to MRT station (Le Yuan Station). Not too far. Overall, pleasant stay. A four to five star. I would have scored it five stars if the staffs have been more friendly and if the entrance can be more grand and spacious.

We had booked a gold room as we had a great experience at the Fairmont in Singapore. The hotel is on the Bund, and you only have to cross the road to get to the Bund promenade. The building is beautiful and inside completely decorated in art deco style. The room was so much better than the pictures on the website, it is big, nicely decorated and the bathroom is the best hotel bathroom I have seen. A free standing bath, seperate shower and toilet. A special area for your luggage and a coffee machine that makes great coffee. The room was very clean and the staff were fantastic. The gold lounge was very nice. We enjoyed the afternoon tea and the canapes at night. Harrison the Gold room manager was very friendly and helpfull. It is the second Fairmont we have stayed at, and I am looking forward to stay in more.

Probably one of the best hotel I stayed in Shanghai the most hip and happening among all three Hyatt in the city. Spent my new year eve count down at the Vue bar, very memorable and unforgettable experience, it offer stunning view of Shanghai both Pu dong and Pu xi view, thought the location of the hotel is at Pu xi side. I would recommend all guest to have a drink at the Vue bar to chill out. Being situated at Pu xi, Huang Pu Road the hotel is minutes walk from the Bund and nan jing road where most of the great, shopping, restaurant and bar located at. Very convenient location. As for the facility, Hyatt on the Bund provide better facility than other 5 star hotel in city. warm pool and great gym. I stayed at the club room on the east tower at 27 floor that offer magnificent view, the room is spacious and amenity is nice. I truly enjoy my stay at Hyatt on Bund and will stay here again come May Shanghai Expo.

The location is a bit far from the bund, but you can walk about 50mins to the bund. Very tiring. Otherwise you can ride the metro or a taxi from the hotel but don’t ride from the bund to the hotel. It is quite pricey about 50-70 RMB. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They help me in chinese writing to find the restaurant or others. This is will be a note to the taxi driver. The google map is hopeless though depend on the VPN network. The rooftop cafe is fabulous view facing to the shanghai skyline. The room is very spacious and got the bath tub facing the shanghai skyline. I will come back to stay if going to Shanghai again 😘😘😘

Architecture and history buffs will love Bund Circle and spend hours researching its four spledid Art Deco buildings. The hotel interior is renovated 'Art Deco' - need I say more? - but the room we had was spacious and very well-appointed. The staff were very helpful indeed. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from East Nanjing Road metro station, that has connections to Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport and Railway Station. We can't comment on the hotel's dining room as we prefer to eat out. Down the road are local dumpling and noodle restaurants, and in the next block is Shanghai Grandmother - a bright and cheerful restaurant that sells authentic local food to tourists - not many Europeans, most tourists in China are Chinese. For many people, Jiangsu cuisine is China's finest, with its subtle, harmonious flavours and gentle (in Shanghai, not so gentle) sweetness. And next door is 'House of Blues and Jazz', a fantastic late night out - bands play from around 9.30. 50RMB cover charge

At first glance, the alleyway in which this hotel is located seems a bit "off the beaten track". However, do not let that fool you - the hotel is in the heart of The Bund and next to all that you will be wanting to see. The alley leads onto one of the main streets that is close to many shops and places to eat. Rooms have everything that you need, the bed was very comfortable and a safety deposit box is also provided. All of the staff speak English well and are very friendly. Breakfasts are okay but the hotel also has a bar, with drinks priced very reasonably. I do not think I could have booked a hotel for the price I paid that had an excellent location and rooms of this standard and would definitely book again. One of my "gripes" about more costly hotels is the deposit that you have to pay up, which can be anywhere between 1000 RMB to 2000 RMB and, let's face it, we do not usually spend much time in the hotel! The deposit here is a reasonable 200 RMB, which seems much fairer. All-in-all this is a great base from which to see many attractions of The Bund. I will be back!

What I love about the W chain of hotels is that you are always assured of a certain standard. I've stayed at other W's as well and I have never had any complaints. The same goes for the W Shanghai. I stayed in the Spectacular Room with a panoramic view of the Bund, breathtaking both day and night. The bathroom was spacious with his and her sinks, huge bathtub, waterfall shower as well as a Japanese toilet. The bed was very comfortable and the huge sofa that ran along the windows was the perfect perch from which to observe the world below. Special mention also goes to the wonderful staff working there. From the minute you walk into the lobby you are greeted by friendly faces at the ready should you need help. The same goes for the FOH staff at the check-in desks. You're attended to immediately following your exit from the elevators. They will also give you some infused water if the outside heat was a bit too much to bare. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The river view was the nicest place we stated at in china (admittedly we booked into some budget hotels for the trip) the staff were accommodating and very helpful. We stayed in a river view room which had fabulous views of the financial district across the river ( there is a huge amount of construction going on next to the hotel and I'm not sure if the river view will be left with one after the new building next door is finished. The staff were very helpful and generally had some of the best English skills we experienced in china. Only had breakfast there once, but it was again better than all of the other places we stayed in. Walking distance (2min) from the south bund fabric market, if you want some coats or suits made. And about 20 min walk or a short and cheap(shanghai taxis all use the meter and don't try and bargain) ride to the bund itself. 10-15 min walk to closest subway. Rooms were generous and very clean and well maintained. Would recommended this hotel.

This was my last stop in my 2 week in China. First time to Shanghai. The location was fantastic and easily reached from the Pudong Airport by subway (1hr). The bund is 15 min walk away. There is a giant mall for food and cheap clothing right by the subway station. The service was the best of 5 hotels I stayed in China. The staff were polite with excellent communication. I arrived early and the manager let me check in early even though it was a busy holiday weekend. The room is impeccable and very nicely decorated. From my window, I could see the Pudong skyline and the postal museum. Overall an excellent experience.

We arrived at the hotel hot and sweaty after a long plane trip and 2 train rides from the airport. On our arrival we were instantly welcomed, bags taken, checked in efficiently and shown to our room. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, large bathroom, all very comfortable. The best part was the amazing view over the streets, traffic and Bund area to the river.

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai has renewed my faith in five star properties. Countless establishments the world over claim to be five star, but very few actually deliver. The WAS is everything one would expect from a top-end property. Pros: - The rooms are absolutely fantastic. They are huge and feature a multitude of modern luxuries. For example, centralized control of room lighting, AC, drapes, and alarms from a room automation console; TV built in to the mirror in the bathroom; web-enabled TV; and IT connections hub with cables included. The furnishings and amenities are all also top notch, as one would expect from Waldorf properties. - Service is excellent. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was very polite and extremely helpful. - Location on the Bund. The location cannot be beat for views, and proximity to tourist attractions such as Ya Yaun. Cons: - Entrance is obscure. The entrance to the hotel is from a small access lane that is not prominently marked. Not one cab driver was able to find the hotel without guidance from me. All-in-all, if you're going to Shanghai and are accustomed to staying five star, then you really need not look any further than the Waldorf Astoria.

Although we were first assigned to a smoking room, we got that sorted quickly and our stay was a 10 out of 10. We booked a Deluxe Bund view room and although we were only on the fifth floor, the view was amazing. The room was very well appointed, and all the staff were superb. Compliments to the Customer Service Managers as we really appreciate their personal assistance and interest in making sure our visit was the best it could be. It was my wife's birthday during our visit, and the hotel figured this out on their own and presented us with a fantastic birthday cake and card. That's never happened anywhere for us.. and we spend many birthdays in Las Vegas. On check out, we were invited to relax in the executive lounge while we had to wait a few hours to head out to the airport. Totally unexpected. We will certainly stay at Broadway Mansions on our next visit. Why bother experimenting elsewhere when the folks here do such a fine job. My compliments to everyone who works/manages Broadway Mansions.

I stay for just one night. I am a business traveller, but I can see that this hotel is suitablefor all occasion of travelling, whtr business, holiday , etc. In this trip I also satisfy my passion for photography ,as The Bund is right behind the hotel, which is just 10 minutes walk, there are so many well maintained old building within the surrounding. The Room is very cozy, spacious, clean and nice. I will definitely stay here again in my next visit to Shanghai.

This hotel is right next door to the legendary "Peace Hotel". Less than 200 meters walk to the Bund, and Nanjing East Road Metro Station (Line 2 and 10, where you can reach both Hongqiao Airport/High Speed Rail Station and Pudong International Airport, Line 2 also links to Long Yang Maglev Station from where you can reach Pudong Airport in under 10 minutes). The hotel is also within walking distance to Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street, which has many stores that provide local and international goods. Supermarket can be found in the basement of the department store two doors west of the hotel. The price of the hotel may be slightly higher than comparable facilities elsewhere in Shanghai, but the location is unbeatable.

I have stayed in numerous 5-star hotels but my stay at the Peninsula Shanghai has highlighted the difference between a standard 5-star hotel, and a flagship hotel. The grounds and common areas are beautifully and tastefully designed. There is great attention to detail, and a lot of elements which please the senses while avoiding being gaudy which happens too often in these Shanghai properties. The pool, gym, and spa facilities are the best I've ever been to. Service at the pool is attentive without being intrusive. The design is immaculate. Music is played underwater in the pool. The rooms are the best part of the stay. Beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept in. In-room facilities are perfect. I also had the pleasure of using the inroom printer for work. Set-up is a breeze and convenience is unmatched. Even the most basic room is comparable to junior suites of other 4-star, 5-star hotels. The hotel is located at the end of the bund. This is an excellent location as it is further away from the very busy, tourist heavy areas and is significantly quieter than properties 2 or 3 blocks towards the center. If you are staying in Shanghai, and you have the budget, stay here.

The location of the hotel is really super: directly at the northern end of the Bund. When the new promenade is ready it will be one of the best-situated hotels in Shanghai for tourists. In order to fully benefit of this location, it is an absolute must to take a riverside room, the higher the floot, the better! The view is spectacular, overlooking a large stretch of the river bend, the most intersting part of the Bund and the famous skyline of Pudong ! We were able to see the New Year's Eve fireworks from the comfort of our bed !! We recommend this hotel without any restraint!

This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, and for a very cheap price. I have stayed in more expensive 4 star hotels which were not as good as the Elegance Bund Hotel. The rooms are very large and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, bathroom is fantastic, and best of all, everything is extremely clean. The staff are also friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. Next time I am in Shanghai, I will definitely be staying here again.

A group of us stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel room facilities are basic but sufficient for young travellers which are cost-conscious like us. Good for backpackers, young travellers who do not want extra luxurious facilities or services. The hotel front desk was efficient and approachable. The location is strategic, very near to the Shanghai Old street and the Chenghuang temple. Walking distance to The Bund and Yu Garden Subway station. What's more, it is near to a supermart - Tesco and many good eateries.

For it's nightly rate, this place is so well located to the Bund! I was originally á little hesitant to stay here because of some reviews, but I actually had a good experience. My room was old looking, but it was spacious, basically clean and had good air conditioning. I felt safe there just like out on the streets of Shanghai because there was CCTV everywhere. They have me new toothbrush, shampoo and slippers everyday. This is not the Hilton, but if you are easy going, you will be fine.

River view highly recommended as this hotel has a very good view of the Bund day and night - worth the upgrade. Found the rooms nice and massive breakfast. Location was 5-7 minutes to "old side" of the Bund and 7-9 minute walk to the subway station. Many local restaurants around the corner. Reason Cleanliness/Facility rating was "good" and not "excellent was despite many non-smoking signs in the hallway one would always smell smoke and ashtrays near elevator showed signs of use (cleaned daily). Staff was pleasant but struggled a bit with English (both language and smokers are to be expected in China). Overall I would recommend and stay again. My family used this hotel for two different stays, two rooms each stay over a two week period, 8 days total.

Absolute value for the location, room quality and level of staff service. This hotel is two minutes away from Lines 4 and 10 of the Shanghai Metro, putting you a couple of stops away from either the new financial center or shopping and tourist sights like Xintiandi. It is also a 10 min cab ride from the Bund. The room was large and spotless, very comfy bed, plus the bathroom is amazing. Would have been better if the internet was free, but at the rate I got the room, this was not a problem.

This was one of the best hotel experience I have had in Shanghai for many years. As business traveller I don't need a vibrant neighborhood for the hotel I stayed, but a nice, comfortable room and easy access to other areas of Shanghai by taxi. Hotel staff are very helpful and with good English speaking skills; both interior and exterior of the hotel is 5-star, especially the bathroom. Shower is very powerful. For the price I paid, great value for money (when a 4-star could charge even more than this hotel if it locates at Nanjing Road). Only downside is it is not on the Bund but already passed the Bund on the north, and if you wanted to be close to the attractions you better take a taxi than walking.

I have been to Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund regularly to eat at its fantastic restaurant, Char Grill & Bar. This if the first time I stayed at the hotel and was treated to a wonderful reception and service by Star Lu. i was given a room with great views of the the Huangpu River, the Bund and the financial district of Pudong with its dazzling lights. The room is clean and the bed very very comfortable. Toiletry items are tip-top. It was a lazy Sunday the next day as we had late breakfast and coffee. This hotel is just so appealing. The only thing they need to improve on is their carpark and a covered walkway to the hotel entrance. Then it would be almost perfect. Great hotel!
