Hotels near East Nanjing Road Metro Station

This is the fourth time I have stayed st Narada and it is becoming to feel like home - beautifully comfortable beds, quiet on the higher floors (I was on 11th this time) despite a main road outside, a ramp for wheeling up my suitcase, good varied Chinese breakfast with some Western additives, great outdoor eating area (but why was I the only person out there on a sunny morning), excellent and helpful staff, great monsoon shower, great decor with dark stained timber flooring, free water and soft drinks in the minibar (that is rare elsewhere), close to Yuyuan Gardens metro station on a line to Hangquio airport and very fast train station, close to East Nanjing Road and its activities, smallish but quite adequate restaurant with better Chinese food than Western good (this is China, after all, so this is not surprising), self serve laundry on second floor ( unexpected but appreciated) and the list goes on. Things not liked? Have to put that one on notice.

This is the second hotel I stayed in Shanghai and found it to be extremely convenient. It's centrally located and just walking distance to the East Nanjing Road Metro station. There's couple of eateries just across the road and a convenience store nearby so no issues on finding food at any time. The hotel room was surprisingly nice. Very spacious for two people. The downside would be the pricey buffet dinner I decided to have at the lobby which was really a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Also, the complimentary water bottles provided by the hotels didn't seem so fresh looking I just decided to buy my own from the convenience store just across the road. These two negatives are easy to avoid so I'd still consider staying here again.

I couldn't ask for more, the staff were friendly and the room that I booked was up to my expectations. it's about 5-7 minutes walk from the West Nanjing Road Metro Station, quiet street which is exactly what I am looking for amidst the hustle and bustle. Food outlets and shopping is just a few minutes' walk away. I would definitely stay here again when I am back in Shanghai.

when we arrived, they told us that they upgradred our room to their 5 star hotel, grand central hotel, which is beside central hotel. so i cant give information regarding central hotel but they do have a very nice lobby and friendly staffs...the grand central hotel is the best, we stayed there for 5 nights. very close to metro station (east nanjing road) and also to shopping center and restaurants. the room extra nice and 5 star facilities...we did night swimming and its warm water...overall we are very happy and will be back to grand central hotel shanghai for our next visit.

I was worried that friends would not like the place coz there were negative reviews. To my surprise, the place was so much worth our money. Very comfortable, nice furnitures, clean linens, functional fixtures and really big for 3 people. East nanjing road station is just few minutes walk. A lot of events along nanjing pedestrian crossing, just in front of the hote and can be seen from our room, happen every night. For the free breakfast, we were only offered Western meals (we think that's the default for foreigners?). If you love shopping, you should stay here. Famous brands are very accessible from the hotel. I wish they had umbrellas to lend to the guests in case the need arises (ours was confiscated from NAIA and there was a thunderstorm on our second day). We would definitely choose this place again if we'll travel be back in SH.

the hotel is perfect for tourists - its near many sights around peoples square such as the shanghai and urban planning museums, the fake market (5 minutes walk) and east nanjing road shopping (also 5 minutes walk). there are 3 metro lines from the adjacent metro station. the lobby is full of character, the room a lovely wood panelled space with plenty of space in the room and bathroom (equipped with bath and shower). good english spoken.

Our stay at this hotel was very comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful and they spoke reasonably good English. All our requirements were well accommodated. WiFi was working well. The best part was the location of the hotel. It is a just a very short walk from the Zinzha Road Metro Station. When we discovered Exit No.6 it was really close. Initially we took another exit.

Overall, a nice hotel for the price I found my room and bathroom to be clean and tidy. This hotel is on the pedestrian mall section of Nanjing Road within 5 minutes walk to the East Nanjing Metro station. Since the hotel is on a pedestrian mall, a taxi will drop you off some distance away from the hotel. From the Metro Station, it is easy to get to Pudong Airport or the MagLev to the airport. The Agoda map location was incorrect. From the East Nanjing Metro station, you need to walk along Nanjing Road AWAY from the Bund, NOT towards the Bund. There is a side street near the hotel that serves a variety of Chinese food. Many snack food places and several reasonably priced restaurants. In the early mornings, various Tai Chi groups are exercising in front of the hotel. At night after 10:00 pm, I saw some rollerbladers and rollerskaters practicing outside. Lots of police and security out on Nanjing Road now compared to earlier years. Very safe and far fewer street hawkers trying to sell you stuff. It is true, if you go to the front desk around noon, it will be very busy and difficult to check in. At other times, the front desk is not busy and things are more leisurely. From the hotel, it's about a 15 minute walk to the Bund. If you want to keep the room AC running and don't want to fuss with the complicated controls, ask the front desk for 2 cards.

Wodnderful,great and big rooms with clean and comfort bathroom, the stafs of the hotel also very helpful and lovely service with great smile, the lobby of the hotel is great so beautiful with charcter chinese design ,the populer place in shanghai is in nanjing road only take 5 minutes by walking from hotel and we took dining in near the hotel with nice food, visiting shopping mall and near the hotel we found also underground rail station inside shopping mall,visiting also shanghai museum not far from hotel ,15 minutes by walking, we stay 4 days and really enjoy shanghai because the hotel is located in the center of tourism center, Great holiday

I booked two double room and was upgraded to suite for both rooms. I guessed the suites are low in demand so they upgraded us. It was a very nice gesture. I could hear noises from outside, be it at the corridor or opposite building. Therefore, this hotel is not for people who could not fall asleep with noises. Other than this exception, generally I feel that this hotel has a superb location as it is very near east Nanjing road metro exit 6, foods are just few blocks away. Taxi from hotel to pudong airport was about CNY262. Do note that the hotel can help to call cab if required. The hotel staffs do minimum housekeeping so do not expect them to clean your room thoroughly. Overall, I feel that this hotel is recommendable to ppl who want cheaper option with super great location!

We were a bit sceptical at first seeing this is an old YMCA. But, we were quickly impressed by the modernity and how well designed this hotel is. Build in 1920-1930s, it has the old Shanghai western-chinese architecture, but JinJiang has transformed it into modern, stylish, sleek hotel. They still retain the old building, but the interior is well beyond modern. Interactive TV set (w access to room service, internet), stylish ammenities, sleek room design & cabinets. The best thing got to be the LOCATION. We stayed at room 705 (got an early check-in since we want to go to Expo on that day), great view to People Square's garden. Exit the hotel,turn left,and 2 minutes later you land at Metro station (just 1 stop to People Square,5 stops to Expo park). Turn left & 15 mins walk,you got Huahai shopping road & infamous Xin Tian Di; turn right & 15 mins walk, you got Nanjing Lu. Service was excellent. We would definitely stay at Marvel again if we visit Shanghai.

Our trip to Shanghai started badly. We arrived at 01:45am at Pudong Airport and there's no Airport Pickup service, so somehow we made it to the City and tried to find a Taxi driver who would take us to the hotel, which was difficult because some of 'em didn't even know the address (we showed them the Agoda generated Taxi directions in Chinese language). In the end we arrived at the hotel at 3:45am (!) and we got our room without a problem in the middle of the night - glad it worked out! Our room was awesome, felt really luxurious and we had everything we needed. It takes you 10 minutes to the closest Metro station (two more stations from different line in 15 minutes). Breakfast was great for a tattered European stomach but a little expensive. Only negative is the surrounding provides nothing, there's no convenience store or anything close (thus it's very quiet on the other hand side) and the neighborhood doesn't look too good but that's all. We would def. stay again here!

The hotel is generally clean and tidy and most importantly strategically located about 5 mins walk to Laoximen metro station, which is 2 stations away from East Nanjing Road and The Bund. There are restaurants, convenience stores, banks and kfc is just around the corner. The room is not too small but the queen bed seemed a little cramped, the hot shower pressure was good, but the bathroom was smelling like dirty drain most of the time, the housekeeper forgot to make up our room once, after we reminded the staff, the room was made up for the rest of our stay, so it was ok. We may stay here again if we travel to Shanghai in future.

You will never regret for choosing to stay in this hotel. Although this hotel does not located close to any of the tourist spots (20mins walk to Yuyuan), it is within walking distance to metro Line 9 (Xiaonanmen station). We were first a bit upset when we were out from the metro station it appear to be a residential area rather than tourist spots. But we later appreciate this as we manage to get cheaper stuff from the roadside stalls set up at night. And of course, restaurants nearby are at cheaper price and offer tasty food. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are very very clean and the housekeeping ladies are very friendly too! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we were to visit Shanghai in future.

the jw mariott shanghai hotel is supposed to be one of the best if not the best hotel in shanghai. it is true it is really luxurious and beautiful.. no free internet in the rooms (it is nowadays quite amazing not to have free wireless internet in hotel rooms of this standing, especially in asia). top floor bar is a private mariott club so we were unable to have a drink there. we were nicely offered a promotion package on our arrival which included the use of the club (where you can have free afternoon tea, and early evenings drinks), internet access, breakfast and room upgrade which seems really good if you intend to stay all day and night at the hotel. staff was most efficient and spoke great english. the jw's lounge bar on 40th floor is really good: great atmosphere, good music, lovely decoration and top cocktails and snacks. great location, close to people square, museums, opera etc..

This hotel is a historical landmark of Shanghai. Once the tallest building in the city years ago. The interior is still well-preserved with its historical elegance blended with modern amenities. The single room is comfy for a single traveller. The people park metro station is just right opposite the road with the famous Nanjing west shopping street 5 minutes walk away. It's easy to go everywhere since People park metro is one of the interchange station with 3 different lines. Museums attractions are also 5-10 minutes walk away. A hotel with great location, convenience, history and class. Not to forget, its has a nice japanese restaurant and a certified pearl shop in the hotel itself. However, i'm extremely not happy with agoda and the hotel when i made changes to my booking and my first night payment not able to be refund due to their late communication.

We enjoyed our stay. Arrived 8.30am and allowed to check in straight away. Twin room consisting of 1 double bed and another single bed is reasonable size for the 3 of us. Room was cleaned every day. Coffee, tea and bottled mineral water were replenished daily. So were the bathroom amenities like bath gel, lotion, shampoo and soap. Towels were also replaced daily. Hotel staff were very accommodating. Location wise, it is considered good, about 10 minute walk to Yu Garden and also to East Nanjing pedestrian street. The Bund is 15 away on foot. The nearest metro station is Dashijie on line 8 which is about 500m away, it is one stop away from People square. Alternatively, Yu Garden station on line 10 is 600m away, it is one stop away from East Nanjing station. Overall, we had a great stay with easy access to the city centre and other touristy places.

Small room but enough for solo traveler. My windows facing a school with basketball yard, good view to see the locals lives. Room has no desk so working laptop put on the lap. Basic needs for a hotel room was met, anyway (Aircon, hotwatered shower, clean towel, TV but no desk, no coffee, only the electric kettle). But location is cool. Just 100m access to the middle of pedestrian Nanjing road. In the morning many local food for breakfast, coffee shop, Starbucks nearby and surrounding. Only the lift abit smelly since they put in the emergency access area in the back. Also, this is near to metro station of East Nanjing road station.

We only stay a night at Wugong, room equipt with toothbrush, sampoo, shower gel, shower cap, sandal, kettle, complimentary water, hair dryer etc, room is with WIFI and with a laptop! which is great. Bed is comfy to sleep on, bathroom was ok. We pick this hotel is because of the location and price. Only 5-8minutes walk to the metro station, Nanjing pedestrian street, and 10minutes walk to the Bund... For the price we paid SGD54, it is worth to stay...

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Very Good location, good price, can walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Road, People Square Metro 500M, Nanjing East Metro 1KM. Many sight seeing nearby .Neat and clean rooms. Staff can speak English no problem. We stayed twice in this trip in 3 bed. It can accommodate 4 people if the hotel permits. Adjacent McDONALD, Opp. KFC, CHINA MOBILE, CHINA UNICOM MOBILE, Out from hotel left on Zhejiang Middle road number of vegetable fruit shops and small supermarket. Out from hotel take right and walk a few blocks you have CHINA BANK of Foreign Exchange. Walk on Zhejianga Middle load a few blocks you have NANJIN PEDASTRIAN STREET, can spend good time every evening and night time. HOP ON HOP OFF sight seeing bus on Zhejiang Middle road and Nanjing pedestrian cross. To reach from Pudong airport Take Line-2 metro (not MAGLEV) change to another train at Guanglan Station (Same platform other side) (1) If you can walk out at PEOPLES SQAURE (eEXIT-15) after coming out of exit take LEFT walk a little again LEFT After crossing ZHEZJIANG MIDDLE ROAD you can see the hotel to right side. internal 300M and on road about 300M crossing two roads. (2) If you can not walk, out at NANJING ROAD EAST METRO (EXIT-2) and take taxi on the road. About 1 KM (14RMB

We decided to try this new hotel out over the weekend. It was very clean and minimal. While the front desk staffs were well trained the rest were subpar. The walls in our room were paper thin, we could hear music playing, conversations, as well as neighbors's (next to us and above us) slide door banging every time they slid it open/closed. The concierge was not very helpful. We asked where we could dine (Chinese or Western food) in the area, she said we could eat at the hotel otherwise everything was closed. Needless to say, we ended up going online and easily found a place nearby place to eat. The Rooftop bar was beautiful but the service was slow and we felt rushed as we were shown the bill immediately after our drinks arrived. I have to say the interior design and décor was beautifully done. I think it was a good one time experience but not worth revisiting as there are other 5 star hotels that are more competitive in terms of value and amenities it has to offer.

The location is convenient is abt 10 mins walk to Metro Station and Shanghai Lao Jie Yu Garden.The price is value of money. If you able to walk , you also can walk to The Bund Riverside and Pearl Tower. At the same time u also can see more things instead of taking Metro to Pearl Tower..But around the hotel not much food around the area during night time. And the hotel is quite new.. The next time visit Shanghai will consider to check in this hotel again..Overall total I will give 4 star to this hotel..
