Hotels near Kennedy Town MTR Station

Since the MTR has been extended to the university and Kennedy town, it became even more convenient. The hotel is a good access from the airport by Cityflyer A12 (HK$45; return can be either by A10 or A12, at HK$40) as the bus stop is just across the hotel, both ways. Since the newer hotels are quite small in size for each room, the spaciousness is really valuable at the hotel's offer price. There are many local food restaurants around and the area of lots of western style cuisine is within walking distance, the hotel is highly recommended for frequent visitors to Hong Kong.

We've stayed in about 10 hotels in Hong Kong and this is our favourite. Great location literally right next to the Sai Ying Pun MTR station and close proximity to many restaurants and bars in the Sai Ying Pun and Sheung Wan areas. Walking to Central or Kennedy Town takes about 15 mins. Our deluxe twin room is spacious, clean and very quiet. The beds were super comfortable allowing us to sleep well and sound. The entrance to the hotel and the reception area look unwelcoming but the rooms are absolutely great. We booked when there was a promotional rate which was a great value. Will definitely stay here again, and again!

This was my second stay in this hotel. It is relatively new so there might be certain confusion about explaining its location to taxi drivers. However, the area near Kennedy Town is quiet and peaceful. Nearby there is a Star Seafood Restaurant (Des Voeux Road) which is definitely worth visiting. The rooms are new though decoration style is a bit pathetic... There is a fascinating view opening from the viewing desk with a swimming pool on the rooftop. No changing room at the swimming pool which is confusing especially given that air-cons are on at all areas. Surprisingly the hotel is always full of Mainlanders having some early arrangements which makes them gather in the elevator area around 5-6am and speak loudly or knock heavily onto their mates' doors. This scene has been observed 4-5 times already! During my previous stay I needed to print out some documents and the price of printing services at the hotel left much to be desired! You could simply buy a printer for the same money! In my opinion, accessory services should be accessible without significant margin made out of guests... The fitness room is too small and its door must at all times remain open which makes the workout rather uncomfortable.

Great location! 1. It's very near to the airport, only 30 minutes by bus. 2. The MTR station is only within 5 minutes walk! 3. 2 supermarkets around the corner. 4. Lots of great food just by walking distance. The staffs were friendly and helpful. 1. Really appreciate the house keeping staff, great job! The room was very clean, and they came in to clean the room every day! 2. What's more, they provide me with 2 bottles of mineral water daily! You wouldn't get this type of service even in Hilton London. Hotel policy 1. Heard some people complained that the hotel doesn't have a heater. For everyone's info, all hotels within Hong Kong does not have a heater, as the weather in Hong Kong isn't that cold for them to have one. 2. There were few comments here complaining extra fees being charged upon checking in. This is a common practice by all the hotels within Hong Kong, nothing to be alarm. These fees will be deposited back to the credit card upon checking out.

overall the hotel was great for the price. for a little more than places like mingle & ibis the room was larger, there was no bus noise, and the staff was great. the pool is ok, nothing to rave about, but it is nice to have. transportation was no problem, unlike some reviews. 2 or 3 of the trams go right by (kennedy town, whitey street market, ...), the a10 from the airport drops you off practically in front, and the ride back is just a few blocks down. it's really not a bad walk to sheungwan station, but we usually took the tram. if i had to get on the subway a lot i wouldn't stay there, but for going out once in the morning and then coming back, cleaning up, and going out again at night... no problem. the main drawback is lack of restaurant choices if you are going to stay in the area. it's not bad if you aren't afraid to walk a few minutes, but it really is a market area. there are enough laundry services close, and the ferry to macau is easily walkable or a ¥20 cab ride.

After spending the week before at a disappointed Airbnb place, I was extremely pleased to find myself at Mia Casa. Aside from being spacious and equipped with many amenities including cooking utensils and electric stove--which is a plus for those extended guests who'd like to cook local foods themselves, you will find all kinds of eateries--both Chinese and western--there is a dim-sum place that is open from 3 am to 4 pm--great for those hungry jetlagged guests looking for food in the middle of the night. Mia Casa is about a 7-minute walk to Kennedy Town MTR station, and on your way walking slightly uphill (stay on the same side of the street), you will find a new shopping arcade with many spacious restaurants, dollar shop,etc. There is also a nice big park toward the harbour with walking paths. The tram is not far away either and you will find a seat always since it is the first/last stop of the tramway. Last but not least, friendly staff - a plus for travellers!

The hotel is located in the Cyberport area of Hong Kong Island, which is rather quiet and very ideal for a getaway. They have a free shuttle service to Hong Kong station which takes around 15-20 minutes, and from there, transport to every part of Hong Kong is available through the MTR/Airport Express. The staff was very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to enquire about my plans and recommending art events to take a look if I had the time. Room service was prompt and very helpful. The room was very spacious and well lit, which is a luxury in Hong Kong where most hotels have rather cramped rooms. The floor was a little creaky but other than that, the room, hotel and staff service were excellent.

Very near to the kennedy town MTR and about hk$50 to hk$70 taxi ride from Hong Kong station. The location is not central to anywhere but is near western part of HK island. There are plenty of westerners, bars and restaurants nearby. You are basically a trip of 10 to 15 minutes MTR from central and sheung wan. The rooms are big compared to many but unfortunately I was told that due to booking through agoda I was not allowed a room with a window. Just another thing. Although paid up front, you must leave a damage refundable deposit of 500 hk dollars. Overall, the place is okay and nothing to moan about. It is very clean.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel and felt that the value for money (at the price I booked on Agoda) was outstanding, considering the cost of rooms in Hong Kong. While I would love to be right next to an MTR station the walk to the nearest stop (Sheung Wan, ~20 minutes) is pleasant and straightforward. About $25 HKD from Central MTR station (which connects to the airport) to the hotel in a taxi, and usually less than $30 HKD to most places in Central (Soho, Hollywood Rd, etc) which is great for shopping, eating, or coming home after a night out.

because of the hong kong 7s rugby and a big medical conference being held in hk at the same time, our first three choices for hotel accommodation were booked out. so it was that we ended up at traders hotel, located somewhat in the boon docks in kennedy town. i'm now so happy that the other three hotels that were our original preferences were booked out. our week at the traders hotel could not have been more delightful. the young staff are brilliant, willing to do anything helpful at any time of the day or night and always spot on with their recommendations. everyone from the bell hop, to our room maid, to the restaurant staff, the reception team and most of all, the lovely staff in executive lounge made our 7 night stay one to remember. ivy, in particular in the executive lounge went out of her way to make us feel at home and no request was too much for her. on that matter, we strongly recommend the executive room package, which comes with breakfasts, generous drinks in the evenings for a couple of hours, along with a choice of hor d'ouvres. kennedy town itself is where the working class people of hong kong live, work, play and dine. it is not ritzy or glitzy, but it is cheap, cheerful, interesting and far from the madding crowds of tourists that haunt central, wan chai and tst. traders hotel is now our hotel of choice for our future visitations to hong kong. we give this hotel our strongest recommendation to other travellers looking for value for money, a first class staff and an interesting location.
