Hotels near Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road)

This is an excellent hotel in a good location right next to the Yuyuan Garden Metro stop and just a 5 minute walk to the Yuyuan Garden. It's also only a short walk away from the Bund, Nanjing Lu and Huaihai Lu. We booked an SSAW room which was spacious and had a separate seating area with a lovely bathroom. Our bed was super comfortable, the WiFi was very good and the staff on reception were incredibly helpful. We appreciated the free mini bar (which was topped up daily) and it was wonderful to have access to the free self service laundry facility. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of Western and Asian options.

Superb hotel. Superb value! The lobby is very beautiful and grand. The hotel is very well maintained. Stayed in a deluxe room and it was huge and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and there is even a pillow menu! The bathroom is huge with tub + separate shower. The shower gel & shampoo given smells so nice! Everything is so opulent and well-maintained. The heater and aircon works perfectly and everything was really thoughtfully decorated/done. They even have a turn-down service where housekeeping leaves a chocolate and a floor mat by the bed. TV channels were good and a number of English channels available. They have free movies as well. Service was excellent as well - from the concierge to housekeeping to the laundry dept to the doormen. The management should really be proud to have such excellent staff! We never ever had to open the lobby doors ourselves even. There is also a money changing machine at the lobby! So handy and thoughtful! We were very impressed and this certainly will not be our last time here. This hotel's location is perfect as well - it's near Nanjing street ie. it's just a small street away. You just need to cross the road and you can shop your heart out. There are 2 metros nearby - Nanjing Lu and People's square. You can get to so many places via the metro. A note to muslims : There are 5 halal restaurants very near to this hotel. If you cross the small street infront of the hotel, you will find 2 halal restaurants. If you walk behind the hotel, you will find 3 halal restaurants (2 are at Zhenjiang rd).

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel/executive apartment as the suite was magnificent. There is a fully equiped kitchen just in case you would like to cook. This hotel would be great for longer stays as it really does feel like home. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The location is good for people new to Shanghai as it is right off Nanjing Lu in Jingan. Overall, I had a really good stay.

Although I have always stayed in the much more expensive, luxury international hotels on Nanjing Lu, I decided to try the Central Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. What a pleasant surprise! It was comfortable, immaculate with great customer service. Never tried the restaurants - too many good ones nearby - however, did have room service once and it was disappointing. Nevertheless, everything else about my stay made me conscious of the money I have wasted staying in the so called 'top hotels' on Nanjing Lu over the last 12 years.

do not pay rmb for ride to hotel unless traveling with 5 other people for van. seventh heaven hotel is seventh heaven. it is right on people's walkway (nanjing road e.) for shopping, eating, and pleasure of shanghai. leave hotel and turn right on nanjing road e. and at first corner on left is very popular snack food cooked and put as many as you want in small bag for you to enjoy on your walk or to prevent hunger pains. you will notice line by this window by native chinese every day. think baklava and you have idea of the pastry used outside this delicious treat. continue on your walk (also on right side) next block is icbc bank if you need to exchange money. next block, also right side is famous shanghai duo yun xuan ( ) if you desire brush, stones used by emperor and elite (for ink), ink for traditional chinese writing, or set for display for your child to encourage their patience and study. they also have paper, stone seals (for your name), jade, wood, carvings, bronze items, fans, etc. many old shops like this have closed and it is nice to have this one which has good reputation and honest quality and prices, while other shops merchandise may be questionable in quality or authenticity. do not get name here in stone (100 rmb for each symbol) - instead turn right and cross 2 streets to have 3 done (for 48 rmb) on seal (tel. ). if you continued walking on nanjing road e past duo yun xuan, cross the street, is fine chopsticks shop just on the right. chopsticks include silver and jade and wood. continue down road and you will come to apple's store on left for any and all computer needs.

The location is really excellent for a 1st time traveler to Shanghai. It is 1 block from the #2 line metro which makes it very easy to get to most sightseeing places in the city. Also, the Maglev is on the #2 line so it is pretty easy to get to the hotel from the airport. The hotel itself has an entrance directly on the pedestrian Nanjing Road which is always filled with people day and night. However, it is not noisy at all in the hotel. The staff is very friendly and provided excellent service. English is spoken so not an issue for international travelers. We got the regular room and is kind of small, but adequate. Excellent view of Nanjing Road and all the people walking day and night. We tried the chinese restaurant in the hotel one night and it was completely empty. The food and waitress was excellent, but pricey compared to restaurants around the area. Cost about 400 rmb for dinner. Internet costs 120rmb / 24 hrs in room via ethernet cable which was pretty pricey. It is free in the lobby though. Overall, I'm satisfied with the stay.

Hotel located right in Nanjing West road (or Nanjing xi lu) and has subway right across the road in front of the hotel (2mins walk). Just walk to the street behind of the hotel and u come across lots and lots of restaurants. You will be spoilt with so much choice. Walk out of the hotel, turn left and you will find shopping, depaartment stores, and from there, go down the basement for the underpass to bring u to Nanjing East road (or Nanjing dong lu) for more shopping and restaurants!!!! Definitely a very good hotel with clean and tidy room, and it is spacious. I was told by the taxi driver that this hotel is already nearly 90 years old but it doesnt look old inside however it is not so modern as well. overall i would come back to this hotel if i visit shanghai again. definitely will stay this hotel again.

Spend almost 1 hrs to navigate it's location, because I read the wrong address numbers. But really glad we choose to stay there. It's a very well maintained budget hotel. Very clean and comfort. I love it when we're spend the whole day exploring the whole nanjing road outside the hotel then walking back to our room anytime to have a rest before another exploring nearby at the night. It's like having a privilege as the nanjing road is like the main attraction at shanghai. Super clean and top location!

Stayed at Marriot City Center with my parents for bussines trip for 2 night. Great location, as the name city center :) it's so close to The Bund and Nanjing Road. Easy to find food and transportation. Breakfast in the hotel is not a necessary, as it easy to find local food in the Nanjing Road's alleys. So appreciate their friendly and helpful staff. We check-out with our package still at the hotel, due to delayed delivery pick-up. They assist us to store the package and wait for the post man to pick up our package. Due to a short-staying, we didn't use any facilities (like gym or pool), but overall the hotel is clean and comfortable.

Very friendly service staff... they gave my girlfriend a rose while we checked-in at the counter as well as self-serve hot tea when we entered the lobby Location of the hotel is quite good, as it is close to People's Square, Nanjing Lu and the Bund. Individual rooms are a bit dark (could use better lighting) but otherwise decorated quite well. Only criticism I would give is that it is a bit difficult to get a cab from outside the hotel on Hankou road given it is a small street. Very tough to get a cab during rush hour, but there are small motor carriages that are easy to flag down.

Our stay at Fish Inn Bund in December was an enjoyable one.Good location(the hotel is at the left corner the street leading to Nanpu Bridge-so watch out for the red neon lights saying Fish Inn on top of the building if you are taking the taxi)but might be tricky to find at first.The East Nanjing metro is only less than 10mins walk away. The staff is friendly,soft spoken,knowledgable and polite.We only booked 2 standard rooms for 3nights but they upgraded one of the rooms to a bigger deluxe room with a balcony free of charge!The hotel staff recommended some great and clean places for delicious but cheap dumplings and dinner that a tourist wouldn't know to go. Most of the sighseeing places are within walking distance. For instance, Nanjing lu(15mins), Yuyuan garden(25-30mins) and the Bund (20-30mins)Hotel is pretty clean and in good condition.Rooms has a nice oriental theme decorations but modern furnishings.Beds are comfortable and bathroom has a proper wall instead of those tinted glass walls.Overall,we enjoyed our stay and it was worth every penny we paid for.

We were a bit sceptical at first seeing this is an old YMCA. But, we were quickly impressed by the modernity and how well designed this hotel is. Build in 1920-1930s, it has the old Shanghai western-chinese architecture, but JinJiang has transformed it into modern, stylish, sleek hotel. They still retain the old building, but the interior is well beyond modern. Interactive TV set (w access to room service, internet), stylish ammenities, sleek room design & cabinets. The best thing got to be the LOCATION. We stayed at room 705 (got an early check-in since we want to go to Expo on that day), great view to People Square's garden. Exit the hotel,turn left,and 2 minutes later you land at Metro station (just 1 stop to People Square,5 stops to Expo park). Turn left & 15 mins walk,you got Huahai shopping road & infamous Xin Tian Di; turn right & 15 mins walk, you got Nanjing Lu. Service was excellent. We would definitely stay at Marvel again if we visit Shanghai.

I was taking a taxi meter from East Nanjing Road into that hotel and the driver was taken me to the real Shanghai Natural History Museum which is on the different location entirely......I have to put in Xinwo Building: North Gate by Didi taxi into the hotel........The hotel is located beside the river and quite a new hotel....closed to Xinzha Road Metro Station on foot walking for approximately 18 minutes walking........thanks for the unique location behind Xinwo Building: North Gate.......Air Purifier was inside my room...thanks.....considering the city of Shanghai is heavily polluted air.....19 millions inhabitant and population......

I don't usually write a review, but I should do this time. 리뷰 왠만하면 잘 안하는데요. Room and facilities are very clean in good condition. 방 진짜 깨끗하고 시설들도 다 새거 같아요. Staffs are kind. Staffs can't really speak English but use translator app to communicate with me. 직원들도 친절하시고 한국어든 영어든 번역앱 쓰시면서 말씀해주려고 하시고 The location of the hotel is just 3 stations away from city center (Nanjing East Road, People's square, Waitan and etc.) 호텔 위치도 시내중심부 (난징루, 인민광장, 와이탄 등등)에서 3정거장 밖에 안 걸려요. 호텔옆 지하철 6번출구에 맛있는 훠궈집도 있음! I will be staying again if I can visit Shanghai next time. Strongly recommended!

The place is exactly as advertised. The pictures are exactly what the place looks like without tricky angles to make it look bigger or nicer. The English speaking staff, Louie especially, are very helpful and informative. The rooms are very clean and the water is hot. The washer works well but the dryer is a waste of space and bigger waste of money (not exclusive to this hotel. The dryers in China are generally not very useful). The place is fifty meters from the subway exit and a fifteen minute walk from the Nanjing Shopping District, Bund, Old Warf and a famous old tea house garden that I just happened to find by chance, though there were tour buses all over the place. One word of caution, though the rooms without windows are cheaper, you'd be surprised how important it is to get sunshine in the room.

Very good hotel with excellent location, centrally located and with the People's Square Metro Station just across the road, it is very easy to get around the city. Nanjing Pedestrian Street is very near and can reach within 5 minutes walking distance and walking to most shopping area along Nanjing road. Surrounded by all kind of restaurants and eateries. Staffs need to improve their English level in order to have better deal with customers, when I checked in I asked for information for the check out time, the staff dealt with me answered that two o'clock, and I told her that I knew the check in time is 2pm and I want to know the check out time, and still she told me two o'clock and when I pointed at the door card holder stated 12 noon to her, she still said that is correct "two o'clock", ,their English are poor that they even can't pronounce twelve o'clock correctly.

We enjoyed our stay. Arrived 8.30am and allowed to check in straight away. Twin room consisting of 1 double bed and another single bed is reasonable size for the 3 of us. Room was cleaned every day. Coffee, tea and bottled mineral water were replenished daily. So were the bathroom amenities like bath gel, lotion, shampoo and soap. Towels were also replaced daily. Hotel staff were very accommodating. Location wise, it is considered good, about 10 minute walk to Yu Garden and also to East Nanjing pedestrian street. The Bund is 15 away on foot. The nearest metro station is Dashijie on line 8 which is about 500m away, it is one stop away from People square. Alternatively, Yu Garden station on line 10 is 600m away, it is one stop away from East Nanjing station. Overall, we had a great stay with easy access to the city centre and other touristy places.

There are pros and cons at this hotel. I will write them based on my experience Pros: - Very near Nanjing road and tourist spots (The Bund, Nanjing Road, Pearl Tower, etc.) - A lot of food choices nearby - Staff are friendly despite the language barrier - Supplies are replenished everyday (water, slippers, tissues, towels) - Near subway station Cons - There's a lot of dust. My allergy to dust has been triggered after so many years - Water leaks on shower and my room got flooded but thanks to towels they provided. I used it to absorb the water on floor - The window is broken. It's difficult to close or open it. Someone across the street can easily see you if you don't close it - The hair dryer doesn't work well. It suddenly stops while using it. - It can be difficult for guest who has room on 2nd floor because you have to carry your luggage all the way Regardless of these cons, I'd still choose this hotel next time due to its cost and accessibility

We only stay a night at Wugong, room equipt with toothbrush, sampoo, shower gel, shower cap, sandal, kettle, complimentary water, hair dryer etc, room is with WIFI and with a laptop! which is great. Bed is comfy to sleep on, bathroom was ok. We pick this hotel is because of the location and price. Only 5-8minutes walk to the metro station, Nanjing pedestrian street, and 10minutes walk to the Bund... For the price we paid SGD54, it is worth to stay...

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Very Good location, good price, can walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Road, People Square Metro 500M, Nanjing East Metro 1KM. Many sight seeing nearby .Neat and clean rooms. Staff can speak English no problem. We stayed twice in this trip in 3 bed. It can accommodate 4 people if the hotel permits. Adjacent McDONALD, Opp. KFC, CHINA MOBILE, CHINA UNICOM MOBILE, Out from hotel left on Zhejiang Middle road number of vegetable fruit shops and small supermarket. Out from hotel take right and walk a few blocks you have CHINA BANK of Foreign Exchange. Walk on Zhejianga Middle load a few blocks you have NANJIN PEDASTRIAN STREET, can spend good time every evening and night time. HOP ON HOP OFF sight seeing bus on Zhejiang Middle road and Nanjing pedestrian cross. To reach from Pudong airport Take Line-2 metro (not MAGLEV) change to another train at Guanglan Station (Same platform other side) (1) If you can walk out at PEOPLES SQAURE (eEXIT-15) after coming out of exit take LEFT walk a little again LEFT After crossing ZHEZJIANG MIDDLE ROAD you can see the hotel to right side. internal 300M and on road about 300M crossing two roads. (2) If you can not walk, out at NANJING ROAD EAST METRO (EXIT-2) and take taxi on the road. About 1 KM (14RMB

We decided to try this new hotel out over the weekend. It was very clean and minimal. While the front desk staffs were well trained the rest were subpar. The walls in our room were paper thin, we could hear music playing, conversations, as well as neighbors's (next to us and above us) slide door banging every time they slid it open/closed. The concierge was not very helpful. We asked where we could dine (Chinese or Western food) in the area, she said we could eat at the hotel otherwise everything was closed. Needless to say, we ended up going online and easily found a place nearby place to eat. The Rooftop bar was beautiful but the service was slow and we felt rushed as we were shown the bill immediately after our drinks arrived. I have to say the interior design and décor was beautifully done. I think it was a good one time experience but not worth revisiting as there are other 5 star hotels that are more competitive in terms of value and amenities it has to offer.

Two stations with were just 5 mins away from the hotel, it's not far. There is a shopping mall with many restaurants next to the hotel, but many of them close around 9.30pm. so if you ever came back late and couldn't find a place to eat, don't worry, there is a place with many types of food also not far away from the hotel, they open throughout the night. The staff was super friendly, that's really all I need. The laundry room was super useful. In terms of charging plugs, they have UK socket in the room, that's a plus for me. Not to mention they also have USB charging. In terms of the condition of the room, everything is in new condition and meet the standard of a 4 star hotel; TV and bathroom. Here is not so pleasant experience, every night i can hear showering from the room upstairs, obviously the noise was brief and happen only once per night, but I can hear it. It's not a big deal to me, but you guys have the right to know. Overall, I will definitely choose this hotel again.
