Hotels near People's Square (Renmin Guang Chang)

Check in time --> We arrived at the hotel very early about 830am. And without hesitation they allowed us to check in early. I would like to express my gratitude to the hotel on this. Otherwise we have to wait till 12 noon to check in. Location -->The hotel is located at the main road called Renmin Road. Location is about 5 minutes walk to Yuyuan Garden Station, 10 minutes walk to Yu Garden attractions and nearest Mosque. About 20 minutes walk to the Bund. If you take Metro Train, about 1 stop to Nanjing shopping area and 2 stops to People's Square Drinks in the fridge (soft drinks) are complementary from the hotel. They will refill the fridge daily. It is Free. Staff - The star of the hotel I would say is the staff. They are very helpful although we do not speak mandarin / Chinese. They will try to assist us as much as possible. They are very fast at what they do. They even provide free snacks at night between 10 to 1130 pm. A simple snack for the hotel guest.

Superb hotel. Superb value! The lobby is very beautiful and grand. The hotel is very well maintained. Stayed in a deluxe room and it was huge and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and there is even a pillow menu! The bathroom is huge with tub + separate shower. The shower gel & shampoo given smells so nice! Everything is so opulent and well-maintained. The heater and aircon works perfectly and everything was really thoughtfully decorated/done. They even have a turn-down service where housekeeping leaves a chocolate and a floor mat by the bed. TV channels were good and a number of English channels available. They have free movies as well. Service was excellent as well - from the concierge to housekeeping to the laundry dept to the doormen. The management should really be proud to have such excellent staff! We never ever had to open the lobby doors ourselves even. There is also a money changing machine at the lobby! So handy and thoughtful! We were very impressed and this certainly will not be our last time here. This hotel's location is perfect as well - it's near Nanjing street ie. it's just a small street away. You just need to cross the road and you can shop your heart out. There are 2 metros nearby - Nanjing Lu and People's square. You can get to so many places via the metro. A note to muslims : There are 5 halal restaurants very near to this hotel. If you cross the small street infront of the hotel, you will find 2 halal restaurants. If you walk behind the hotel, you will find 3 halal restaurants (2 are at Zhenjiang rd).

the one suites is in a great part of shanghai, only 5 minutes from the people's square. the room was magnificent although i seemed to be waiting a while for the elevator - only 4 of them for the entire place. the internet was good and the bathroom had real space and style. breakfast was just okay but there was time and space and it was nice to be able to enjoy a quiet breakfast without diners all around.

My 3rd trip to Shanghai and my 3rd time staying at Seventh Heaven Hotel. We simply love the prime location of the hotel, conveniently located at the main shopping street Nanjing East Road, right above Giordano. It is located in the middle of 2 busy subway stations, about a 10-minute walk to either subway stations - Nanjing East or Ren Ming Guang Chang (People's Square) stations. Rooms are compact, just enough space for 2 persons, and equipped with all you need. Friendly staff and Free Wi-Fi in rooms too. Only downside was that the beds were a little too hard. Overall, definitely great value for money! Will definitely stay there again for our next trip to Shanghai!

As a frequent traveller to Shanghai, I always stay in hotels in the close proximity to Nanjing Lu/People's Square. A few years ago, I was very disappointed with the Sofitel and decided not to use it again. However, recent comments had been very positive, so I decided to give it another go. This time, everything was exceptional from the minute I walked in the door - all the staff I had contact with, size and furniture & fittings of room, relaxed, friendly atmosphere etc. Consequently, I would recommend this hotel, without reservations, to anyone, and also to stay in the executive club rooms - great breakfast/evening nibbles and drinks in a panoramic setting.

Users of this website should be informed that the hotel's name in Chinese is Jin Men Da Jiu Dian, and it's kind of dumb that that information is not very prominently displayed for users of this booking service. Pacific/Jin Men is on N side of People's Square, opposite an entrance to a Metro station serving three Metro lines. Easy to get anywhere from here. No need to rely on taxis (of which there is often a shortage). Around the corner is a food street, Huang He Lu, plenty of good cheap restaurants and street vendors. I assume the pricing of this hotel will always suffer from being next door to the big shiny Radisson; I would rather stay at Pacific Hotel anyhow. One drawback to the location: the part of People's Square immediately opposite is used sometimes by a group of old Communists who come out and sing revolutionary songs off-key in a kind of open-air karaoke. I was here both for business and (at end of stay) for a family vacation, and the room was suitable for both purposes. Service was attentive, English at the desk was high-quality, housekeeping was friendly and thorough. The porters could have been a bit more accommodating about storing bags on my last day, but the reception desk saw to my needs. The bar was a nice, albeit overpriced. (I didn't eat at the Pacific Hotel but this website requires a number. You can't argue with Javascript, thus I have submitted a meaningless 3.) While I was here I suffered from a terrible internet connection that cost me hours of my time. I didn't bother asking for help from the hotel staff, because I believe it was a provider problem.

Hotel staff are very friendly and polite. We managed to check in a few hours before the actual check in timing, which was really great. Housekeeping did their job really well and made up the room everyday despite us heading out of the hotel at different times. There is also a gym and indoor swimming pool but we only managed to use the gym due to time constraints. The hotel is located near People's Square metro station (opposite exit 7) which made it easy to travel around Shanghai and also to and from the Pudong airport. Popular and good food nearby and it was walking distance to the famous Nanjing pedestrian shopping street. Overall a superb experience, would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is very close to 3 metro station(People's square,Xinzha road&Qufu road) is very convenience to travel around shanghai city. Hotel room is big and clean with separate shower room, bath tub and toilet. Hotel room provide toothpaste,toothbrush,shampoo,body wash,hand wash,hair dryer,shower cap,cotton bud,facial cotton&etc. Staff is helpful but a few staff attitude not good.

Very convenient location with very good price. The hotel is located on Nanjing East Pedestrian Street and near People's Square station which is very convenient to travel, shop and dine and it's quite safe and surrounded by department stores, flagship stores, souvenirs shops and so on. The hotel could do better to brighten light on walk way on each level as light to my room is quite dim. The room is clean. They changed linen and towels every day though I did not request them to change linen(I didn't put a change request on the bed). They provide 2bottles of water everyday. There are 1-2 front desk staffs who can communicate in English. No refrigerator but I have no problem with that. In general this hotel is worth to pay.

Stayed 3 nites in Dec 2018. The family suite was very spacious and comfortable. They kindly added an extra bed for us FOC. Staff were attentive and helpful. Great location. Only 5 mins walk to Nanjing Rd shopping district and People's Square metro station. Many eateries and malls nearby. McD, Costa Coffee and Watsons just next door. Short taxi rides to Yu Garden, The Bund, Shanghai Natural History Museum, Xintiandi and Tianzifang shopping areas. Definitely will stay here in my next trip to Shanghai.

Location: We found staying close to the People's Square for a weekend trip to check out the sites of Shanghai to be convenient. The hotel is pretty much right there on one of the boundaries of the Square, and about 25 metres from the entrance of the metro exit. Room: We found it to be very spacious. Our opinion. And the overall condition was good. Didn't have any gripes about any part of the room. Welcoming fruit platter was a nice touch. Hotel: This is not one of those huge hotels, but the lobby is still setup beautifully. Floors are well maintained. Service: Very pleased with the service. This comment is not meant to set the English standards of the city low, but 3 out of 4 staff are very well spoken in English, and make you feel very welcome easily having chats with you.

the hotel lies near a bridge which crosses a small canal northeast of People's Square, just three hundred meters north of Nanjing Rd East subway station (Nan Jing Dong Lu Zhan 南京东路站), which makes for a really convenient location. Lots of restaurants nearby, from cheap to expensive, mostly chinese of course, but being so close to Nanjing Rd, the majority of them are ready to welcome laowai's with english and picture menus. The hotel staff is very friendly, and their english skills are way better than most same level chinese hotels staff. The room I was in was ok, not huge but not too small, and the bed was really confortable. The bathroom seemed to have a sewage problem which made it smell a little, but when i told this to the receptionist they tried to fix it, double cleaned the bathroom which then was ok. I never had breakfast or anything so would not know about the quality of food, actually I don't even know whether they serve any. I would definitely go back there again.

I booked through agoda for the Shanghai world expo. It was an excellent choice, easy to find the hotel as it's located above the Da Shi Jie (Great World) subway station (No.1 line). Easily accesible by Maglev train or no.2 line from Pudong Int'l airport, change to no.7 line from Longyang station and then to no.1 line. Nice modern decor, clean rooms and value for money room rates. Great location near People's Square and there are many eating places, shopping centres conveniently located around the hotel. I'll definitely choose this hotel again.

Hotel was clean but the walls were thin. Although I was on a smoking-free floor and room, I could smell it through the vents/door/walls. The location is about a 5 minutes walk from Natural History Museum station and 10minutes away from People’s Square station. If arriving at night, I would take the taxi. Make sure to have the address in Chinese with the hotel’s telephone number as well.

the subway is nearby, many supermarkets nearby, many food shops around, and some small shops. It is also reaaallly reallly near to WenMiaoLu (anyways u just have to turn right fromthe hotel, and go straight, for like 5 minutes) it's a district that sells lots of anime stuffs & there's a confucius temple there too. Subway are convenient, as this hotel is on subway Line 8 & 10. many famous places are reachable in 2-5 stations only. you can reach the bund in 4 stations, people's square in 2, Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the place is really comfortable and nice. Toilets are also clean! P.s: oh & btw, there's this shop selling import stuffs (more like snacks & drinks), really cheap nearby, the name is Master, check it out! (go right after the hotel exit, go straight until the 4 intersection, & turn right, just keep going straight you'll see it on ur left hand side)

I arrived at 2AM in the morning, rang doorbell then front desk clerk buzzed me in. Hard to find but thankfully the cab driver persisted to help me and asked a guy kn the street who pointed us towards it. Conveniently located near metro station but I chose to walk 30 min to People's Square to soak in the local culture. Stayed in 10 person dorm. If you are light sleeper then it may annoy you when others come in and out of their. I loved the large electronic lockers.

I've stayed in several old hotels in China that have been through some renovation, but this one is the best. The room is very nice, not feels like an old room in an old hotel. It is located just across metro exit in People's Square Interchange Station. From the airport, just take the Maglev Train, and then change to Metro directly to People's Square Station. Every morning I notice many local tour groups departs near the hotel area. I joined 2 different local tour in the city, all of them also depart from this area.

Fantastic Location. We were with a 2 and half year old and we survived with our stroller only. Yuyuan MTR and Dashjie MTR at walkable distance. People's square, nanjing street, bund, Yuyuan Garden all at walkable distance. Neat hotel with good amenities. Reception staff was just ok. The lobby attendant was very warm and nice. Breakfast spread was ok with some minor changes everyday, we were there for 3 nights.

There are pros and cons at this hotel. I will write them based on my experience Pros: - Very near Nanjing road and tourist spots (The Bund, Nanjing Road, Pearl Tower, etc.) - A lot of food choices nearby - Staff are friendly despite the language barrier - Supplies are replenished everyday (water, slippers, tissues, towels) - Near subway station Cons - There's a lot of dust. My allergy to dust has been triggered after so many years - Water leaks on shower and my room got flooded but thanks to towels they provided. I used it to absorb the water on floor - The window is broken. It's difficult to close or open it. Someone across the street can easily see you if you don't close it - The hair dryer doesn't work well. It suddenly stops while using it. - It can be difficult for guest who has room on 2nd floor because you have to carry your luggage all the way Regardless of these cons, I'd still choose this hotel next time due to its cost and accessibility

Shanghai has long been on my travel bucket list. The subway system is good, but you don't really want to take it much with so much going on above ground! The Line 2 subway is a good one to know, however, as it goes near the Bund, and also to the airport and train stations. Excellent. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAM TAXIS AT THE SHANGHAI TRAIN STATION! They will want 200 yuan for what was a 15 minute trip! My rule is to never engage an idle taxi! Search for the Taxi Cue-- its underground and I had to wait for an hour, but the price for the legitimate taxi was 28 yuan, and we encountered little traffic even at 8:30 am. As for the Wu Gong itself, it was a great place to stay. It was only about a 10-minute walk to the not-to-be-missed Shanghai Museum and People's Park. Plan on at least three hours here. Ten minutes east was the center of the Bund, the place to be! If you are into photography, the Bund is better by night with all it's "make-up" lights on than during the daytime. Lots of people here. Very friendly and want to practice English with a little encouragement! And they will want a selfie with you! It is a beautiful place to be, especially on a summer night when all you want is even a little breeze. To the south, it is a very easy walk to the Old Town. Very interesting winding, tree-lined streets. See it fast though. The modern era is encroaching quickly. One old neighborhood is now surrounded by demolition and high rise apartments going up. So sad, really. These people's families have lived in these areas for centuries. Now where do they go? Also, if you want a "treat" at both ends of reality, try the Fangbang Street and the Yuan Tourist Area Bazaar (Bizzarre more like it)! Nearly 99% Chinese tourists and a kitchy area to shop. If you wondered where all the English-speaking Chinese are in Shanghai, they came here to open a shop! The Confucian temple is here as well, and it is easy to miss in the glitter. Look for it. I was lucky enough to catch a little of a ceremo

Good value for money for a hotel in Beijing, near a tube station so could get around town fairly easily even though was about a 45 min walk from Tienemen square. Good value restaurants in the area, and nearby a western-ish bakery which did fabulous bread! Room was small with ensuite bathroom - though the bathroom had see through glass - so you may not get a lot of privacy. Otherwise very acceptable for the location and price.

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

For the price, this hotel was really nice. Not only was the bed comfortable the room was clean. It wasn't spotless and they could use a re up on paint on some spots; but it was ok. The only problem I would have to say is the bathroom. It needs to be refurbished-new grout cause the shower leaked. Other than that fast wifi clean sheets and a TV that channels was not fuzzy! I would stay again. Oh and it's super close to People's square metro and Nanjing East station. Everything was easily accessible.

We decided to try this new hotel out over the weekend. It was very clean and minimal. While the front desk staffs were well trained the rest were subpar. The walls in our room were paper thin, we could hear music playing, conversations, as well as neighbors's (next to us and above us) slide door banging every time they slid it open/closed. The concierge was not very helpful. We asked where we could dine (Chinese or Western food) in the area, she said we could eat at the hotel otherwise everything was closed. Needless to say, we ended up going online and easily found a place nearby place to eat. The Rooftop bar was beautiful but the service was slow and we felt rushed as we were shown the bill immediately after our drinks arrived. I have to say the interior design and décor was beautifully done. I think it was a good one time experience but not worth revisiting as there are other 5 star hotels that are more competitive in terms of value and amenities it has to offer.

Two stations with were just 5 mins away from the hotel, it's not far. There is a shopping mall with many restaurants next to the hotel, but many of them close around 9.30pm. so if you ever came back late and couldn't find a place to eat, don't worry, there is a place with many types of food also not far away from the hotel, they open throughout the night. The staff was super friendly, that's really all I need. The laundry room was super useful. In terms of charging plugs, they have UK socket in the room, that's a plus for me. Not to mention they also have USB charging. In terms of the condition of the room, everything is in new condition and meet the standard of a 4 star hotel; TV and bathroom. Here is not so pleasant experience, every night i can hear showering from the room upstairs, obviously the noise was brief and happen only once per night, but I can hear it. It's not a big deal to me, but you guys have the right to know. Overall, I will definitely choose this hotel again.
