"an old hotel gutted and renovated in a modern way, offered capsules ($40) and private rooms ($200). the capsule bed itself was very clean, though the floors and corners in the bathroom/sink areas and the kitchen (especially) could be cleaner. i would have also liked to do some of my work on the ground floor but there is an off smell down there, probably due to old okinawan plumbing, that kept me in my room instead. it could be a fun place when fully booked, but it was pretty low occupancy when i was there, which combined with a really windy night kind of made for a somewhat creepy experience! "When we arrived it was raining and windy, and our mood wasn't raised when we found cigarette stains on the sofa. The room was huge and otherwise clean, but definitely in need of a do-over. Being a 4-star hotel after all, I fear for the hotel's reputation if they don't renovate the room buildings soon. Also, the staff's English skills were quite a challenge sometimes. The car ride to the hotel took almost 2 hours, but we wanted to avoid Naha area (as it's busy and not picturesque). The hotel's location is fine to relax at its quiet and beautiful beach (free parasols/chairs for guests), but also great explore the gorgeous islands around Nago and Daisekirinzan further north by rental car. The breakfast was enormous and delicious, the Teppanyaki restaurant served a high quality dinner (at an expectedly high price). There's a few cheap and authentic izakayas only a short drive from the hotel, as well. With the weather being quite unpredictable, the hotel onsen was one of our highlights!"
