Hotels near Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum

This trip wasn't very well planned, just a sudden getaway with my mom. It was for the first time that we traveled just a two of us and I am extremely pleased the way it turned out. - The location is perfect. My mom and I are avid walkers and it was a most visually stimulating and rewarding walk that reminded me so much of some old parts of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, our home town. We saw the Shanghai museum and some awesome old buildings around the Yu Market, both within comfortable stroll from the hotel. - The breakfast food was nice and my mom being a vegetarian still had some decent choices. The fruit platter in the room was a nice touch and so was the selection of fruits and other snacks in the rest area on the 2nd floor. - Don't write off the city view rooms. It was fun, and perhaps offered a rare opportunity to observe the everyday city life without being nosy. Plus we took advantage of the DC deal for the city view room so no regrets at all. - We loved the old style charm of the place and found everything to be just fine, but I take a star off for cleanliness so be forewarned, travelers used to new and sparkly :). - The staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke very decent English and accommodated my request for an early check-in which made a huge difference for us as we arrived to the hotel before 11. So overall it is a stylish little charmer very well worth your time. Would be perfect for anything , except perhaps a family trip with little kids, but than again in my opinion Shanghai isn't a kids friendly city. So I left mine at home :) this time, but in a few years may come back and bring the entire family. Thank you.

Location was a big plus. Step out and left is the bund area and right is Nanjing road east. Both are must see at Shanghai. Service at peace is something outdistancing. Zoey at the concierge and her team was always there to support us. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Frankly nothing much to say as cons Staying at peace was a pleasant experience and would certainly recommend this place. Right outside is the bund area where a ferry could be taken at 2 rmb to cross to other side and walk across the other side of bund to see the pearl observatory and super brand (lotus) mall and museum n floating restaurant and many other places. This is much faster than even taking a taxi. Walk to old Shanghai n market area is about 20 25 minutes. Walk alongside the bund in the evening is lovely with the beautiful Shanghai skyline beautifully lit. Overall stay at peace was amazing experience and great value for money Thanks to agoda for the booking done. It was seamless and perfect 👍👏👏

Probably one of the best hotel I stayed in Shanghai the most hip and happening among all three Hyatt in the city. Spent my new year eve count down at the Vue bar, very memorable and unforgettable experience, it offer stunning view of Shanghai both Pu dong and Pu xi view, thought the location of the hotel is at Pu xi side. I would recommend all guest to have a drink at the Vue bar to chill out. Being situated at Pu xi, Huang Pu Road the hotel is minutes walk from the Bund and nan jing road where most of the great, shopping, restaurant and bar located at. Very convenient location. As for the facility, Hyatt on the Bund provide better facility than other 5 star hotel in city. warm pool and great gym. I stayed at the club room on the east tower at 27 floor that offer magnificent view, the room is spacious and amenity is nice. I truly enjoy my stay at Hyatt on Bund and will stay here again come May Shanghai Expo.

Recently renovated, during my 6 week stay in Asia the Jinjiang Metropolo Hotel Bund Circle was clearly the 'best value' hotel of my trip. I originally intended to stay for 1 week, but enjoyed the hotel so much, I extended my stay for another week. Actually the staff deserve 5 stars, but since I only could speak English there were a few minor communication problems. I would surely stay here again when I visit Shanghai.

I could only write this review based on the amount of time I spent in Shanghai, which was only about 8 hours. I booked 2 rooms online for my party of 5, and arrived very late at night. Not knowing much of the area, and starving after a long flight, all we wanted was food. The staff was very nice and informative and directed us to a restaurant serving hot pot on Nanjing Road, which was excellent. With our bellies filled and extremely tired, we got back to our rooms and were satisfied with the comfort and cleanliness of the tiny rooms. The beds were very comfy and gave me the best night's sleep which made us ready to travel another 14 hours home. I'm so glad I booked these rooms, even though it was a very short experience of Shanghai, the food, and their nice people.

What I love about the W chain of hotels is that you are always assured of a certain standard. I've stayed at other W's as well and I have never had any complaints. The same goes for the W Shanghai. I stayed in the Spectacular Room with a panoramic view of the Bund, breathtaking both day and night. The bathroom was spacious with his and her sinks, huge bathtub, waterfall shower as well as a Japanese toilet. The bed was very comfortable and the huge sofa that ran along the windows was the perfect perch from which to observe the world below. Special mention also goes to the wonderful staff working there. From the minute you walk into the lobby you are greeted by friendly faces at the ready should you need help. The same goes for the FOH staff at the check-in desks. You're attended to immediately following your exit from the elevators. They will also give you some infused water if the outside heat was a bit too much to bare. Thanks for a lovely stay!

the hotel had a friendly and helpful staff. the room was very nice and quite reasonable for the price. best of all is the wonderful view of the river. the hotel is well named, "the riverview." at night the bund is illuminated and stretches in a crescent shape along the river. the old historic buildings give one a sense what shanghai must have been like back in its heyday. if one has ever read a book about old shanghai, you can almost imagine the streets teeming with white russian exiles, british merchants and a host of other foreign business and trade representatives. across the river are stunning modern skyscrapers that are a vision of the future. nearby is the hip and urbane "cool docks" with its jazz bars, pubs and trendy restaurants. if you want a blend of the old and the modern then make your next stay in shanghai at the riverview.

This was my last stop in my 2 week in China. First time to Shanghai. The location was fantastic and easily reached from the Pudong Airport by subway (1hr). The bund is 15 min walk away. There is a giant mall for food and cheap clothing right by the subway station. The service was the best of 5 hotels I stayed in China. The staff were polite with excellent communication. I arrived early and the manager let me check in early even though it was a busy holiday weekend. The room is impeccable and very nicely decorated. From my window, I could see the Pudong skyline and the postal museum. Overall an excellent experience.

i stay in this hotel is for the next morning flight. i am busy for last whole week in a meeting which travel from shanghai to beijing and also zhenzhou. the days i stay in this hotel is actually my rest time. it is very comfortable room, nice scene, good location that i can have a walk in the tradisional street. can have a look with many china tradisional things. i like the chinese restaurant food in the hotel. very suitable to me. will be here when i am in shanghai again. the only i not satisfied is the room service, it is too slow.

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai has renewed my faith in five star properties. Countless establishments the world over claim to be five star, but very few actually deliver. The WAS is everything one would expect from a top-end property. Pros: - The rooms are absolutely fantastic. They are huge and feature a multitude of modern luxuries. For example, centralized control of room lighting, AC, drapes, and alarms from a room automation console; TV built in to the mirror in the bathroom; web-enabled TV; and IT connections hub with cables included. The furnishings and amenities are all also top notch, as one would expect from Waldorf properties. - Service is excellent. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was very polite and extremely helpful. - Location on the Bund. The location cannot be beat for views, and proximity to tourist attractions such as Ya Yaun. Cons: - Entrance is obscure. The entrance to the hotel is from a small access lane that is not prominently marked. Not one cab driver was able to find the hotel without guidance from me. All-in-all, if you're going to Shanghai and are accustomed to staying five star, then you really need not look any further than the Waldorf Astoria.

I have just returned home to Thaialnd from a 4 day trip to beautiful Shanghai. The Broadway Mansions hotel is steeped in history, being built in 1935, in fact the Snooker table in the hotel's British Bar is the original table from that era, although the cloth has been changed!! The hotel was beautiful, in a great location on The Bund, and the staff are very friendly and un like many places in Shanghai, spoke perfect English. I am definitley going to Shanghai, and in particular this hotel again, and would highly recommend this great value hotel through Agoda, to all of my close frinds and family. A definite must is the open top double decker bus aound the city, you can use it unlimited for 2 days and hop on and off as you like, a great way to sight see all the historical attractions.

Weary after a light night arrival in Shanghai, arriving at the Westin was exactly what I needed to get my trip off to a good start, starting with the ATM on-premises so I could pay my taxi fare (since all of the Pudong Airport ATMs were out of service). The room was first-rate, and the hotel had all of the amenities one would expect. The staff were all friendly, helpful and language proficient, and the breakfast was very good, albeit quite pricey at roughly 250 yuan. It is well-located, a short walk to the Haungpu river with its iconic views of the Pudong New Area skyline, as well as People's Park and a good deal of Shanghai's modern shopping areas.

The location is just a 3 min walk from the Bund, 6 mins walk to the East Nanjing Road subway and East Nanjing Road. You can also walk to Yuyuan Garden and Shanghai Museum, People's Square. But it will take about 15 mins. The hotel is very tastefully decorated. The room we had had a bathtub, a separate shower area and a separate washroom. The WC uses electronic bidet. The walls of the room were thick and we were totally insulated from the sounds at the corridor. Wifi was stable. We struggled a little with the room heating control. Can't seem to get it right, even when the staff helped us. So it was a little too warm. The staff were polite but not overly friendly. We felt very secure because the room card can only access the floor that you are on. And the door man will escort all guests to the lift to ensure they are a valid guest.

I have stayed in numerous 5-star hotels but my stay at the Peninsula Shanghai has highlighted the difference between a standard 5-star hotel, and a flagship hotel. The grounds and common areas are beautifully and tastefully designed. There is great attention to detail, and a lot of elements which please the senses while avoiding being gaudy which happens too often in these Shanghai properties. The pool, gym, and spa facilities are the best I've ever been to. Service at the pool is attentive without being intrusive. The design is immaculate. Music is played underwater in the pool. The rooms are the best part of the stay. Beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept in. In-room facilities are perfect. I also had the pleasure of using the inroom printer for work. Set-up is a breeze and convenience is unmatched. Even the most basic room is comparable to junior suites of other 4-star, 5-star hotels. The hotel is located at the end of the bund. This is an excellent location as it is further away from the very busy, tourist heavy areas and is significantly quieter than properties 2 or 3 blocks towards the center. If you are staying in Shanghai, and you have the budget, stay here.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, and for a very cheap price. I have stayed in more expensive 4 star hotels which were not as good as the Elegance Bund Hotel. The rooms are very large and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, bathroom is fantastic, and best of all, everything is extremely clean. The staff are also friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. Next time I am in Shanghai, I will definitely be staying here again.

I didn't set a high expectation when I reserved a room at the budget hotel given its low rate (I stayed in another budget hotel nearby [a different hotel chain] half a year ago with similar rate but the premise, amenity and service were below par). It was a pleasant surprise that the property was very well-maintained, the service was good, and the room was very comfortable. Everything is as good as what I expect a three-star hotel would offer (except that their facilities are of course not up to a 3* hotel standard). I would love to return to this hotel next time.

We booked the triple sharing room and it was the same as advertised. Very good location - near The Bund, East Nanjing Metro Station Line 2 & 10, & Nanjing Shopping Stores. Rates are cheap too considering it’s location. They provided 3 bottles of water and changed sheets everyday. For Filipinos, their room has no Bidet, and I think it’s common in China. I just brought my own deeper instead. One thing we don’t like about the room was, it has no “Heater”. We went there this December during winter and the room was very cold. It’s like we’re sleeping outside. Char. Also, you can hear the noise outside. Nevertheless, it was a good hotel. Nice staff. Allowed us to leave/store our luggage. Near convenient stores.

This is my 4th time I'm staying at this hotel in 2017. I'm really love this hotel since near to The Bunds (3 minutes walking distance, Nanjing Road and middle of shanghai. I can find Muslim food around hotel. Breakfast have a lot variety of food but not really suitable for Muslim people since I'm Muslim. While breakfast you see nice view of the bunds and huangpu river. Room is clean and nice but a bit small.

Absolute value for the location, room quality and level of staff service. This hotel is two minutes away from Lines 4 and 10 of the Shanghai Metro, putting you a couple of stops away from either the new financial center or shopping and tourist sights like Xintiandi. It is also a 10 min cab ride from the Bund. The room was large and spotless, very comfy bed, plus the bathroom is amazing. Would have been better if the internet was free, but at the rate I got the room, this was not a problem.

This was one of the best hotel experience I have had in Shanghai for many years. As business traveller I don't need a vibrant neighborhood for the hotel I stayed, but a nice, comfortable room and easy access to other areas of Shanghai by taxi. Hotel staff are very helpful and with good English speaking skills; both interior and exterior of the hotel is 5-star, especially the bathroom. Shower is very powerful. For the price I paid, great value for money (when a 4-star could charge even more than this hotel if it locates at Nanjing Road). Only downside is it is not on the Bund but already passed the Bund on the north, and if you wanted to be close to the attractions you better take a taxi than walking.

I have been to Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund regularly to eat at its fantastic restaurant, Char Grill & Bar. This if the first time I stayed at the hotel and was treated to a wonderful reception and service by Star Lu. i was given a room with great views of the the Huangpu River, the Bund and the financial district of Pudong with its dazzling lights. The room is clean and the bed very very comfortable. Toiletry items are tip-top. It was a lazy Sunday the next day as we had late breakfast and coffee. This hotel is just so appealing. The only thing they need to improve on is their carpark and a covered walkway to the hotel entrance. Then it would be almost perfect. Great hotel!
