Hotels near Shanghai No 1 Department Store

Location is just perfect--five min walk to Yuyuan metro station, ten minute walk to Dashijie metro station and tons of restaurants, fifteen min walk to the Bund. Since it's close to Dashijie area you can easily find many restaurants, shopping malls and supermarkets. The room was huge and spacious, and the room condition was stunning. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. One thing though is it was very cold inside even though I've turned on the heater all day long. I assume it's because the room is on the second floor. The staff is very friendly and well trained. It is really hard to find such a nice hotel in Shanghai. I go on a business trip almost every month not only to Shanghai but to other cities like Beijing, Shenzhen and Nanjing, and it is a rare find to meet such a beautifully and well maintained hotel with impeccable service. Highly recommended.

I chose this hotel from the Internet because it had an Early Bird Special rate for a deluxe suite that equalled business hotel rates in Japan. After reviewing, I read the fine print, that in the event one doesn't make the trip, all nights must be paid for in full. However, it was definitely worth it. This hotel is new and sparkling clean, even in all the corners. The location is one short block from the People's Pedestrian Walkway and The Bund. It's a two-minute walk to the subway (which also was clean). There are many good shops, department stores and cafes within five minutes' walk. The rooms (a huge living room and a huge bedroom) were definitely 5-star quality, and the decor tasteful (not exactly to my taste, but not offensive in any way). The service at the concierge and front desks was natural, polite, patient, and professional. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. On our last night, due to a computer error on my part, we moved to a deluxe room. It was more than adequate, but the Early Bird was a definite bargain! Staying at the hotel was half the experience!

This is a fine suite hotel with very good accommodation, helpful and efficient staff, and a convenient location to explore most of the ‘must sees’ in Shanghai. On first arrival we were let down by not having a non-smoking’ suite available as we had booked however that was soon resolved and we extended our original booking as we were so pleased with the hotel overall. Whilst the building is quite new the immediate neighborhood is somewhat dilapidated – to some extent because of surrounding incomplete building works but then this applies to so much of Shanghai. Our ‘Comfort Studio’ was spacious, modern, comfortable and fully equipped for an extended stay including a washing machine. For what is offered the tariff is good value. Nanjing West metro station is 10 minute walk and the same distance brings countless dining options into range. Whilst there are a huge number of hotel choices in Shanghai, we are returning in the coming months and have already booked our stays at The One by Kempinski.

I have stayed in other hotels in Shanghai previously but this hotel I would say is the best so far in terms of location, cleanliness, helpful staff, good food served at the restaurant and also strong WiFi signal in room. This hotel so near to the Bund just 8-10 minutes walk and many shopping outlets also within walking distance with the famous Nanjing Street just a stone throw away. I will definitely stay at this hotel from now onwards. For anyone still searching for a hotel in Shanghai, I recommend this hotel without reservation.

It was merely 1 minute walk to Metro entrance. The back entrance leads to the busy and action-filled Nanjing East walking mall. Fantastic spot for food and shop. Just another 500 meters or 15 mins walk, you have the Bund right under your eyes. The abundance of different eateries and other shopping centers around the hotel making selection another headache. We were giving 21st floor that offered a splendid view of the Shanghai skyline and the walking mall below. All the facilities in the room are working well. The housekeeping done a good job to ensue our room was sparkling clean and tidy. They even leaf an UMBRELLA in the room as there were drizzling What a thoughtful way to ensure the guests were dry while out strolling.. Again, the air condition could not provide the cold temperature we desire but was comfortable. Seem this happened to many hotels. I appreciate the hotel's compliment of the birthday cake for my special day and received a signed greeting card from the GM. THANK YOU. The concierge was so knowledgeable and efficient. Spare no effort to ensure we get to our destination correctly and inquires were checked and reaffirmed with a note pad!! Even giving us some alternative to choose should we decide other options in that destination. Wonder service and Great job done. It is a misleading rating by Agoda for Sofitel as a 5-stars hotel. At the entrance of the hotel it stated as "4-stars" hotel. Thus the price could be lower to reflecting its current rating. Overall, I love to stay in this hotel.

We arrived 10am, and unexpectedly they have an available room for us even if I did not request for an early check-in. It is located at the end of Nanjing Pedestrian Road. This road is lined with shopping centers and restaurant on both sides. They provide us a room at a higher floor facing the famous landmarks of Shanghai. The hotel has a nice revolving restaurant and a bar at the top where you can see Shanghai by night. Beside the hotel is a big department store where one could already enjoy shopping, and dining.

Luv the location and their service is excellent even i spent just one night at this hotel but I was very appreciated with service of their staffs. Decoration is also good. However, it was a bit noisy in da morning due to it does have a construction site located near the hotel during my stay. It takes just only few minutes walk from the metro station to the hotel however there s no any big minimarts or department store around the hotel.

Very convenient location with very good price. The hotel is located on Nanjing East Pedestrian Street and near People's Square station which is very convenient to travel, shop and dine and it's quite safe and surrounded by department stores, flagship stores, souvenirs shops and so on. The hotel could do better to brighten light on walk way on each level as light to my room is quite dim. The room is clean. They changed linen and towels every day though I did not request them to change linen(I didn't put a change request on the bed). They provide 2bottles of water everyday. There are 1-2 front desk staffs who can communicate in English. No refrigerator but I have no problem with that. In general this hotel is worth to pay.

I stayed for only one night, but has already decided that Yangtze boutique hotel to be my go-to hotel in Shanghai in the future. The room is very clean and spacious with a luxurious touch. Hotel staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel is centrally located, close to all amenities, including No.1 subway station, numerous local restaurants and large shopping malls. It was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback though, is that I found the bed a bit too soft for me. This is just a personal opinion as I'm not quite use to very soft bed.

If you're looking for a grand, luxurious hotel, this is not it. This is budget hotel with the most basic things you need, bed, closet, bathroom, water, tissue and (local) tv channels. We booked a double room but was so happy that we were upgraded to the suite - for free! :) We stayed in room 205 which was quite nice! :) We didn't have any issues with the elevated "room", neither of us fell down the stairs -- so all good. There's one English local channel - International Channel Shanghai (ICS) and since it was raining non-stop, we stayed longer in the room and watched news, music and cooking shows. We stayed there from Jun 25-28 2014 and it rained non-stop from Jun 25-27 (AM). The bed was quite comfortable, they fix the bed daily and provide you bottled water and new towels everyday (when you ask for it! we didn't ask for change of towels the first day). Everything in the bathroom was fine, worked as expected - cold water if you need it and hot water if you need it hot. The location was quite alright, it's very close to Line 10 and Line 2 (East Nanjing Road station) and you can also walk to The Bund if you want to. It's a nightmare to hail taxis at night esp when it's raining. The ifc mall is RMB30 when we went home via taxi. It's also a short walk to the walking street, and when you exit the hotel, you can spot the forever21 shop a few hundreds of meters away. The Shanghai Henderson mall has restaurants and closes at 10PM. The only thing we didn't like was that after 10PM, there's no place to get food except the 24-hr convenience stores. We're used to both the Philippines and Hong Kong where the "central" area has a lot of 24-hr restaurants/fast-food. The hotel is quite dim but we didn't mind. We were also able to leave our luggage after check-out because our flight wasn't until 8:30 PM.

I booked through agoda for the Shanghai world expo. It was an excellent choice, easy to find the hotel as it's located above the Da Shi Jie (Great World) subway station (No.1 line). Easily accesible by Maglev train or no.2 line from Pudong Int'l airport, change to no.7 line from Longyang station and then to no.1 line. Nice modern decor, clean rooms and value for money room rates. Great location near People's Square and there are many eating places, shopping centres conveniently located around the hotel. I'll definitely choose this hotel again.

Our trip to Shanghai started badly. We arrived at 01:45am at Pudong Airport and there's no Airport Pickup service, so somehow we made it to the City and tried to find a Taxi driver who would take us to the hotel, which was difficult because some of 'em didn't even know the address (we showed them the Agoda generated Taxi directions in Chinese language). In the end we arrived at the hotel at 3:45am (!) and we got our room without a problem in the middle of the night - glad it worked out! Our room was awesome, felt really luxurious and we had everything we needed. It takes you 10 minutes to the closest Metro station (two more stations from different line in 15 minutes). Breakfast was great for a tattered European stomach but a little expensive. Only negative is the surrounding provides nothing, there's no convenience store or anything close (thus it's very quiet on the other hand side) and the neighborhood doesn't look too good but that's all. We would def. stay again here!

Jinjiang hotels are GREAT hotels if you are looking for a clean, simple and a modern room. They are smaller rooms but are perfect if you will be exploring Shanghai and just need a place to sleep. The staff speaks limited English but they don't bother you. They are willing to help as much as they can. Every time I travel to Shanghai I stay at this brand of hotel. This particle hotel is only a 3 minute walk to the subway and is in a great location.

I love every detail of this hotel, even the smallest one. Was stay here more than 4 weeks. Stay on the 6 person female room and my parents at the King Bed room ont he 2nd floor. The facilities you can get is very worth with the price you pay. The location was very good, 5 minutes walk to the MRT Line 9 (小南门 xiǎo nán mén station Exit 2 or Exit 3), walk straight from the MRT station and you can get some small restaurant there). There is one 24hour minimarket beside the hotel. This hotel is very clean, they mop the floor twice a day, the room and the lobby is very clean too. And what i love the most from this hotel is the staff! All the staff of this hotel is very helpful and kind with all of the guests. Promise them i will stay at this hotel if i come back to Shanghai and will recomend this hotel with my friend who want to travel to Shanghai. The facilities are very good to. The bed and room is so comfort, and they have a cozy lobby. There is 2 PC you can use anytime at the lobby and the pool table behind the receptionist. The receptionist is 24 hour. You can wash your clothes at the Laundry (you need pay with the coin to use the Washing Machine). They can help you to call the taxi too. Thanks for all the service you all give for me. Im very satisfied :)

the jw mariott shanghai hotel is supposed to be one of the best if not the best hotel in shanghai. it is true it is really luxurious and beautiful.. no free internet in the rooms (it is nowadays quite amazing not to have free wireless internet in hotel rooms of this standing, especially in asia). top floor bar is a private mariott club so we were unable to have a drink there. we were nicely offered a promotion package on our arrival which included the use of the club (where you can have free afternoon tea, and early evenings drinks), internet access, breakfast and room upgrade which seems really good if you intend to stay all day and night at the hotel. staff was most efficient and spoke great english. the jw's lounge bar on 40th floor is really good: great atmosphere, good music, lovely decoration and top cocktails and snacks. great location, close to people square, museums, opera etc..

I booked the hotel for my family and friends on their way to my wedding in China. Despite a lot of confusion over the bookings, and a mistake on the part of the hotel, they were very accommodating and solved the problem quickly. The art deco design of the hotel is interesting and historic, and the rooms were larger than I expected given it's central location. They didn't have breakfast included in our bookings, which was disappointing, but they are extremely convenient to street breakfast, Starbucks, and other nicer places to eat (for other meals as well). Their convenient location to Line 2 made for an easy transition between Pudong airport, Hongqiao airport/train station, and Shanghai Railway station, as well as easy access to sites and nightlife on Line 1, and minimal taxi rides to other locations. It's also a comfortable and enjoyable walk to the Bund. All-in-all, I think this hotel, booked at about 100 USD per room (both twin/double were more or less the same price), was well worth the price based on it's great service, fantastic location, and comfortable accommodations.

I can't recommend the Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel highly enough. The staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping to the restaurant were all professional, polite and helpful. Three Metro lines are very close to the hotel, so you can get anywhere in the City easily and cheaply. The Bund, People Square, Nanjing Shopping Street and many other landmarks are within walking distance. The neighborhood is very safe and next to a lovely park for walking or just relaxing. There are also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores etc. very close by. The was my first time in Shanghai and I knew the general area I wanted to stay in. The Campanile checked a lot of boxes, but you never know until you actually check in and the hotel exceeded my expectations ... and the price is right. My room was not huge, but large enough and well appointed with nice amenities and house keeping kept it spick and span every day. I will stay here again on my next Shanghai visit. The daily breakfast was tasty.

Hotel location is very strategic near on the metro line 2 St. Nanjing East Road (exit no.1) 3-5 minutes walking. Though the rooms was not cleaned very well everyday. Very near to local restaurant. Use the hotel address to find the location or use "Wanxin Huixuan Hotel Shanghai Nanjing East Road Pedestrian". Location is great to look around shanghai, near to the bund also and not very far from yuyuan garden. I'll be stay again if go again.

Shanghai has long been on my travel bucket list. The subway system is good, but you don't really want to take it much with so much going on above ground! The Line 2 subway is a good one to know, however, as it goes near the Bund, and also to the airport and train stations. Excellent. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAM TAXIS AT THE SHANGHAI TRAIN STATION! They will want 200 yuan for what was a 15 minute trip! My rule is to never engage an idle taxi! Search for the Taxi Cue-- its underground and I had to wait for an hour, but the price for the legitimate taxi was 28 yuan, and we encountered little traffic even at 8:30 am. As for the Wu Gong itself, it was a great place to stay. It was only about a 10-minute walk to the not-to-be-missed Shanghai Museum and People's Park. Plan on at least three hours here. Ten minutes east was the center of the Bund, the place to be! If you are into photography, the Bund is better by night with all it's "make-up" lights on than during the daytime. Lots of people here. Very friendly and want to practice English with a little encouragement! And they will want a selfie with you! It is a beautiful place to be, especially on a summer night when all you want is even a little breeze. To the south, it is a very easy walk to the Old Town. Very interesting winding, tree-lined streets. See it fast though. The modern era is encroaching quickly. One old neighborhood is now surrounded by demolition and high rise apartments going up. So sad, really. These people's families have lived in these areas for centuries. Now where do they go? Also, if you want a "treat" at both ends of reality, try the Fangbang Street and the Yuan Tourist Area Bazaar (Bizzarre more like it)! Nearly 99% Chinese tourists and a kitchy area to shop. If you wondered where all the English-speaking Chinese are in Shanghai, they came here to open a shop! The Confucian temple is here as well, and it is easy to miss in the glitter. Look for it. I was lucky enough to catch a little of a ceremo

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Very Good location, good price, can walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Road, People Square Metro 500M, Nanjing East Metro 1KM. Many sight seeing nearby .Neat and clean rooms. Staff can speak English no problem. We stayed twice in this trip in 3 bed. It can accommodate 4 people if the hotel permits. Adjacent McDONALD, Opp. KFC, CHINA MOBILE, CHINA UNICOM MOBILE, Out from hotel left on Zhejiang Middle road number of vegetable fruit shops and small supermarket. Out from hotel take right and walk a few blocks you have CHINA BANK of Foreign Exchange. Walk on Zhejianga Middle load a few blocks you have NANJIN PEDASTRIAN STREET, can spend good time every evening and night time. HOP ON HOP OFF sight seeing bus on Zhejiang Middle road and Nanjing pedestrian cross. To reach from Pudong airport Take Line-2 metro (not MAGLEV) change to another train at Guanglan Station (Same platform other side) (1) If you can walk out at PEOPLES SQAURE (eEXIT-15) after coming out of exit take LEFT walk a little again LEFT After crossing ZHEZJIANG MIDDLE ROAD you can see the hotel to right side. internal 300M and on road about 300M crossing two roads. (2) If you can not walk, out at NANJING ROAD EAST METRO (EXIT-2) and take taxi on the road. About 1 KM (14RMB

Was a bit skeptical at first due to the high price point, but it really delivered. The front desk is flexible and allowed us a late 4pm checkout. The location is right opposite Daimaru, just 10min walk away from the Bund. We got the city view, but it was still great nonetheless. The room was larger than expected and really comfortable and luxurious. I would recommend it for anyone planning a stay in Shanghai.

While there any many hotel in Shanghai, I selected Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden based on 3 criteria: 1. Last renovated in 2018, so all interior are newer compared to most hotel in Shanghai city centre 2. Location, while there is 600-700m away from subway station, they are walking distance to Yu Garden and within min taxi ride (<2km) from the rest of the area (Bund, XinTianDi, TianZiFang) I intend to visit 3. Price, while they are not the cheapest in Shanghai, I paid S$135/room/night, which to me is good value of money, given the location and the interior of the hotel
