i was given a twin beds instead of king size bed. however the receptionist was so helpful to offer option to change next day. surprising the single bed was large enough and pillows and bed accessories are good quality and the room and bath room was clean. although i stay next to elevator but the room was big and quiet and i can hardly hear any noise outside or even from the street. the hotel is 2 minutes walking distance to nanjing east road and 10 minutes walk to the bund. perfect location for me as i can walk to the tower and back. the hotel buffet was great and reasonable price with great services and free flow of coffee and soft drink. especially you don't want to went out for dinner during a heavy shower and the dinner serve excellent quality foods .

Staff welcomed us 5 hours before the check-in time and we got upgraded to a better suite. They were friendly, professional and with very good english skills. The room is very comfortable, spacious. One living room with kitchen, one bedroom as comfortable as you wish to have and one bathroom with both rain shower and bathtub. We also had choice between smoking or non smoking room. The hotel is located not far from main attractions and shopping areas but would still need to take a taxi to go the the best spots of Shanghai, which is cheap and worth to stay in this hotel. I would recommend it to any friends and my next trips. XieXie :)

Excellent location, right next to the Nanjing Road; short walking distance to the famous Bund. Plenty of shops nearby for food and souvenirs. 5 minutes walk (maybe 10 for those leisure walkers) to two subway stations on People Square and South Nanjing Road stations. Very friendly and efficient staff, quick check-in and out (we checked in at 7pm and checked out at 8am). Our room was quiet and clean (Shanghai is very humid, so the room had the wet humid smell, I wouldn't blame the hotel but the Shanghai weather; perhaps the cleaning staff could use some dry patches or smell absorber). Wifi was spotting, but the ethernet cable was wonderful. Plenty of TV channels (even HBO) Overall an excellent experience, definitely made our 4-day trip in Shanghai a lot more pleasant. Will stay again if we visit Shanghai again.

The room size is big and comfortable bed. The best thing is the relaxing arm chair with foot stole. Bathtub and separate shower stand. But we got no views as our room faces the inside of a small courtyard surrounded by other blocks. Rare to see ceilings of lobby with cravings and very antique glass rotating doors(building was built in 1926). Overall staff service are good, clean room and very convenient. 2mins walk to the pedestrian mall at East Nanjin Rd and opposite exit 8 of People's Square subway. About 15mins walk to the Bund. Plenty of taxis and food outlets. Hotel is one door away to Radisson Hotel.

Knowing the hotel I have stayed in has such significance brought about great nostalgic feelings. The hotel was known as Nanjing hotel and was refurnished to its current state. The deco has greatly retained the look and feel of the Bund shown in the movies. Hotel room although small is designed to efficient use of space. Location is great, it is just right off Nanjing Rd Pedestrian Street and is of walking distance to metro and the Bund. Would recommend to stay here!

Location: the best as it sits adjacent to the New World City Mall and it has a direct access to the mall from the lobby. It is also a stone’s throw away from Nanjing Road and a short walk to tourist spots - museums, parks and the Bund. Staff: very helpful and accommodating especially the receptionist Queenee who facilitated our checkin and offered an upgrade at a very enticing price. Room: the upgraded room is at the top-most floor with the best view of the city and its iconic buildings. We also enjoyed the unlimited mini-bar! Facilities: gym, sauna, jacuzzi, pool - all perfect to keep the guests fit. There’s a revolving restaurant and a Sky Dome Bar, too. Very thankful to the management for inviting us to the bar on our last night- we enjoyed the free drinks and snacks!!! Highly recommended!

Overall, a nice hotel for the price I found my room and bathroom to be clean and tidy. This hotel is on the pedestrian mall section of Nanjing Road within 5 minutes walk to the East Nanjing Metro station. Since the hotel is on a pedestrian mall, a taxi will drop you off some distance away from the hotel. From the Metro Station, it is easy to get to Pudong Airport or the MagLev to the airport. The Agoda map location was incorrect. From the East Nanjing Metro station, you need to walk along Nanjing Road AWAY from the Bund, NOT towards the Bund. There is a side street near the hotel that serves a variety of Chinese food. Many snack food places and several reasonably priced restaurants. In the early mornings, various Tai Chi groups are exercising in front of the hotel. At night after 10:00 pm, I saw some rollerbladers and rollerskaters practicing outside. Lots of police and security out on Nanjing Road now compared to earlier years. Very safe and far fewer street hawkers trying to sell you stuff. It is true, if you go to the front desk around noon, it will be very busy and difficult to check in. At other times, the front desk is not busy and things are more leisurely. From the hotel, it's about a 15 minute walk to the Bund. If you want to keep the room AC running and don't want to fuss with the complicated controls, ask the front desk for 2 cards.

Did not know what to expect when I booked it, and was very pleased with what I found. Room 617, quiet, well appointed. Good wifi, nice bathroom, huge terrace, sadly not furnished, so could not make use of it, which was a shame. Bell staff was very helpful. Front staff had their moments. Breakfast was not particularly good not imaginative. Since the hotel is surrounded by shopping malls and small restaurants. Skip the breakfast at the hotel Ciao restaurant and find better more authentic place. The location cannot be beaten: Walk down Hankou street for 15/20 minutes and you will arrive on the Bund. Go 3 minutes the other direction and you are in the people's park. Hotel is just next to exit 14 on the Metro line 2, direct connection to Pudong airport. It is also bang in the middle of the red light district and opposite a police station, the two seem to tolerate each other quite harmoniously! Very amusing.

Our stay at Fish Inn Bund in December was an enjoyable one.Good location(the hotel is at the left corner the street leading to Nanpu Bridge-so watch out for the red neon lights saying Fish Inn on top of the building if you are taking the taxi)but might be tricky to find at first.The East Nanjing metro is only less than 10mins walk away. The staff is friendly,soft spoken,knowledgable and polite.We only booked 2 standard rooms for 3nights but they upgraded one of the rooms to a bigger deluxe room with a balcony free of charge!The hotel staff recommended some great and clean places for delicious but cheap dumplings and dinner that a tourist wouldn't know to go. Most of the sighseeing places are within walking distance. For instance, Nanjing lu(15mins), Yuyuan garden(25-30mins) and the Bund (20-30mins)Hotel is pretty clean and in good condition.Rooms has a nice oriental theme decorations but modern furnishings.Beds are comfortable and bathroom has a proper wall instead of those tinted glass walls.Overall,we enjoyed our stay and it was worth every penny we paid for.

The Metropolo is a lovely hotel. It is pitched as a 3 star as it does not have a pool, and the YMCA label is quite misleading. The rooms are spacious, as is the bathroom, with separate bath from shower. The beds are very comfortable, as are the pillows. The bath linen was white and fluffy, and the bed linen on par with a 4 or 5 star hotel. The room had comfortable and well kept furnishings, with modern calming colours. Clean walls, and no scuffs on the furnishings - really nice to see a 3 star hotel look more like a boutique hotel. The only thing I can mention is that the internet is not always so great, however not sure if this is china in general? The location is close to Peoples Park, and we could walk to the Bund, although it took about 20 minutes. The backstreet is filled with local restaurants. The hotel has a restaurant as well, which was good. I would recommend this hotel for business as well as family travellers.

This Campanile Hotel is a hidden treasure because it’s located within a commercial complex - you have to walk into an office complex to get to the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near the Natural History Musuem subway station (about a 5 to 8 mins walk). The room was clean and cozy. Water pressure in the shower was great! The bed was comfy. Staff at the hotel were welcoming. You can walk from the hotel to the Bund in about one hour. Along the way, you will see several old industrial buildings which serve as reminders of the area’s industrial past.

the subway is nearby, many supermarkets nearby, many food shops around, and some small shops. It is also reaaallly reallly near to WenMiaoLu (anyways u just have to turn right fromthe hotel, and go straight, for like 5 minutes) it's a district that sells lots of anime stuffs & there's a confucius temple there too. Subway are convenient, as this hotel is on subway Line 8 & 10. many famous places are reachable in 2-5 stations only. you can reach the bund in 4 stations, people's square in 2, Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the place is really comfortable and nice. Toilets are also clean! P.s: oh & btw, there's this shop selling import stuffs (more like snacks & drinks), really cheap nearby, the name is Master, check it out! (go right after the hotel exit, go straight until the 4 intersection, & turn right, just keep going straight you'll see it on ur left hand side)

the jw mariott shanghai hotel is supposed to be one of the best if not the best hotel in shanghai. it is true it is really luxurious and beautiful.. no free internet in the rooms (it is nowadays quite amazing not to have free wireless internet in hotel rooms of this standing, especially in asia). top floor bar is a private mariott club so we were unable to have a drink there. we were nicely offered a promotion package on our arrival which included the use of the club (where you can have free afternoon tea, and early evenings drinks), internet access, breakfast and room upgrade which seems really good if you intend to stay all day and night at the hotel. staff was most efficient and spoke great english. the jw's lounge bar on 40th floor is really good: great atmosphere, good music, lovely decoration and top cocktails and snacks. great location, close to people square, museums, opera etc..

I booked the hotel for my family and friends on their way to my wedding in China. Despite a lot of confusion over the bookings, and a mistake on the part of the hotel, they were very accommodating and solved the problem quickly. The art deco design of the hotel is interesting and historic, and the rooms were larger than I expected given it's central location. They didn't have breakfast included in our bookings, which was disappointing, but they are extremely convenient to street breakfast, Starbucks, and other nicer places to eat (for other meals as well). Their convenient location to Line 2 made for an easy transition between Pudong airport, Hongqiao airport/train station, and Shanghai Railway station, as well as easy access to sites and nightlife on Line 1, and minimal taxi rides to other locations. It's also a comfortable and enjoyable walk to the Bund. All-in-all, I think this hotel, booked at about 100 USD per room (both twin/double were more or less the same price), was well worth the price based on it's great service, fantastic location, and comfortable accommodations.

I can't recommend the Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel highly enough. The staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping to the restaurant were all professional, polite and helpful. Three Metro lines are very close to the hotel, so you can get anywhere in the City easily and cheaply. The Bund, People Square, Nanjing Shopping Street and many other landmarks are within walking distance. The neighborhood is very safe and next to a lovely park for walking or just relaxing. There are also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores etc. very close by. The was my first time in Shanghai and I knew the general area I wanted to stay in. The Campanile checked a lot of boxes, but you never know until you actually check in and the hotel exceeded my expectations ... and the price is right. My room was not huge, but large enough and well appointed with nice amenities and house keeping kept it spick and span every day. I will stay here again on my next Shanghai visit. The daily breakfast was tasty.

There are pros and cons at this hotel. I will write them based on my experience Pros: - Very near Nanjing road and tourist spots (The Bund, Nanjing Road, Pearl Tower, etc.) - A lot of food choices nearby - Staff are friendly despite the language barrier - Supplies are replenished everyday (water, slippers, tissues, towels) - Near subway station Cons - There's a lot of dust. My allergy to dust has been triggered after so many years - Water leaks on shower and my room got flooded but thanks to towels they provided. I used it to absorb the water on floor - The window is broken. It's difficult to close or open it. Someone across the street can easily see you if you don't close it - The hair dryer doesn't work well. It suddenly stops while using it. - It can be difficult for guest who has room on 2nd floor because you have to carry your luggage all the way Regardless of these cons, I'd still choose this hotel next time due to its cost and accessibility

Shanghai has long been on my travel bucket list. The subway system is good, but you don't really want to take it much with so much going on above ground! The Line 2 subway is a good one to know, however, as it goes near the Bund, and also to the airport and train stations. Excellent. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAM TAXIS AT THE SHANGHAI TRAIN STATION! They will want 200 yuan for what was a 15 minute trip! My rule is to never engage an idle taxi! Search for the Taxi Cue-- its underground and I had to wait for an hour, but the price for the legitimate taxi was 28 yuan, and we encountered little traffic even at 8:30 am. As for the Wu Gong itself, it was a great place to stay. It was only about a 10-minute walk to the not-to-be-missed Shanghai Museum and People's Park. Plan on at least three hours here. Ten minutes east was the center of the Bund, the place to be! If you are into photography, the Bund is better by night with all it's "make-up" lights on than during the daytime. Lots of people here. Very friendly and want to practice English with a little encouragement! And they will want a selfie with you! It is a beautiful place to be, especially on a summer night when all you want is even a little breeze. To the south, it is a very easy walk to the Old Town. Very interesting winding, tree-lined streets. See it fast though. The modern era is encroaching quickly. One old neighborhood is now surrounded by demolition and high rise apartments going up. So sad, really. These people's families have lived in these areas for centuries. Now where do they go? Also, if you want a "treat" at both ends of reality, try the Fangbang Street and the Yuan Tourist Area Bazaar (Bizzarre more like it)! Nearly 99% Chinese tourists and a kitchy area to shop. If you wondered where all the English-speaking Chinese are in Shanghai, they came here to open a shop! The Confucian temple is here as well, and it is easy to miss in the glitter. Look for it. I was lucky enough to catch a little of a ceremo

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Was a bit skeptical at first due to the high price point, but it really delivered. The front desk is flexible and allowed us a late 4pm checkout. The location is right opposite Daimaru, just 10min walk away from the Bund. We got the city view, but it was still great nonetheless. The room was larger than expected and really comfortable and luxurious. I would recommend it for anyone planning a stay in Shanghai.

The location is convenient is abt 10 mins walk to Metro Station and Shanghai Lao Jie Yu Garden.The price is value of money. If you able to walk , you also can walk to The Bund Riverside and Pearl Tower. At the same time u also can see more things instead of taking Metro to Pearl Tower..But around the hotel not much food around the area during night time. And the hotel is quite new.. The next time visit Shanghai will consider to check in this hotel again..Overall total I will give 4 star to this hotel..
