Great place: good price, good service, good position.”
We had really a great time in Beijing, this hotel was very closed by the forbidden city, tienamen square and wangfujing pedestrian street and market. Sleeping quality was great: very comfy beds, simple but clean room, very quite, perfect heating, good bathroom with so many amenities. Reception was very professional and helpful, especially Mr.Rambo, Mis Zhang Min, the young Trainee.

A nice, clean hotel ”
The hotel was very nice nice and offered very good value for the money. It's very near Tiananmen Square and about 15 minutes walk from Wangfujing Subway Station. It has some nice restaurants in the vicinity as well. The staff were nice and accommodating, but not exactly overly friendly, which is normal in China. The standard room I got was clean and spacious enough for two people to be comfortable. The bathroom was clean and it offered all the necessary amenities, shower, tub, lotions, towel, hairdryer etc. If you wanted, they changed the towel and sheets daily. It also had air conditioning which was nice. The room didn't smell of cigarette or anything like that. The only "negative" thing is that if you have to exchange money at the reception desk, they absolutely won't accept damaged banknotes, even if it's a 1mm cut. It has to be completely undamaged. If I return in Beijing, I will book this hotel again, I recommend it as a place that offers good value for the money.

Excellent Choice, Good location”
The room that was given to me was clean, comfortable and well situated. I could see the crowd passing by every morning on their way to the Forbidden City. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the East Gate , Donghuamen, of the Forbidden City. The hotel staff was very friendly and they were able to let me check-in to my room early at 9 am as my flight arrived very early at 1 am. There are plenty of good restaurants on the same street as the hotel and a very well known Peking Duck (Siji Minfu) restaurant just a few blocks away. I stayed there for 6 nights. Overall, an excellent choice and value for money.

Cosy stay”
I stayed at the Jade garden hotel one week of December. It was my first visit to Beijing and generally to China. And this hotel was just what I needed: very clean, safe, calm. And dinner buffet - tasty, simple, fresh. And 60 RMB for meal is good price for Beijing. Service was exellent everywhere. Locaion of the hotel is one of the best in Beijing: close to Forbidden city in very beautiful and clean district. There are a lot of small places to eat. Closest metro station is Tian'anmen east - about 15 min walk. And you can see nice garden on this way - full of people doing exercises on Saturday and Sunday mornings. And empty and a bit mysterious on late evenings. Room is a bit smaller than they appear on photos, bathroom is tiny but with tube. Nice sink table and not so nice tiles around tube. Really hot water - very important in winter in China. Perfect bed - comfortable with good linen. Internet connection: you can browse using flat TV screen or your own laptop. TV channels - about 60 Chinese and CNN, TV-5 (french). No any Russian. Beijing was first city when I often came back to the hotel early: many places are open just till 16.00. I had to wake up early morning and was very tired at 7 PM. It was first time when I needed some TV to watch but no big choice. By the way, there is a small coffee machine in room. So you can bring your favorite coffee (in bags)and enjoy it. Other options for good coffee is Panjiyuan antique market. Not so antique but very interesting place< lot of craft items, worse to visit. Coffee is on right hand close to entrance))) *It's second time I use Agoda service. I like their discounted rates!

Perfect location for touring Beijing!”
highly recommended! a wonderful experience! the jade garden hotel was a fantastic, reasonably priced choice for our week-long stay in beijing! it is about a 10 minute walk from the tiananmen dong (east) subway entrance on line 1, and 15 minutes from the station on line 5. tiananmen square and the forbidden city are also a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. upon arrival, the staff happily accepted our agoda booking voucher, took photocopies of our passports, and gave us 1 room key. they did require a rmb800 deposit in case we used the minibar or the laundry services, but this was refunded immediately when we checked out. the room was a good size, as was the bed (we reserved and got a standard king-size bed). the sheets were clean, and the room was made up daily upon our request - there was a "do not disturb" and a "please make up the room" button on the wall. the bathroom had a western toilet, toilet paper and tissues, small but soft towels that you could have replaced as often as you like, and complimentary bottled water by the sink for brushing your teeth (i don't think the tap water is safe to drink). there was also a good shower and bathtub. there was a television with many channels in chinese, but channels 9 and 66 were in english. 9 is news, 66 is movies. there was also a mini fridge with more complimentary water, as well as a small mini bar with clearly marked prices. the evian water bottles are not free, but this is clearly marked too. the staff were very helpful. they all spoke english to a good degree, and were eager to make us comfortable on our trip. one concierge man gave us perfect directions to the dumpling restaurant nearby, and even called the restaurant before we left to make sure it was open. there are several restaurants nearby with menus in english, and even a subway across the street. the western breakfast was not included in our hotel costs, but we were able to purchase it separately for rmb68pp and it was amazing. loved th

Great hotel!”
I went to Beijing to visit my son (23), who is studying there. I booked a twin room so that he could also stay if he wanted, which worked out perfectly. He said I should not have booked a hotel in a tourist area, because of the cost, but it was worth every penny! It was a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station (Tiananmen East), and the metro cost only TWOyuan(20p)per journey, but taxis were also very cheap (20 yuan or 2GBP to anywhere central, and 100 yuan or 10GBP to the airport). We walked to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, and to Wangfujing Street, and got the metro to everywhere else except the Great Wall(metro then bus). The hotel room was perfect, with comfortable beds and a big flat screen TV which doubled as a pc, so when we were exhausted at night from all the sightseeing (always LOTS of walking involved!) we could download movies in English and watch them from our beds! Our rooms were cleaned every day and used toiletries, bottled water, towels etc were replaced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Taxi drivers always found the hotel from the hotel card and I even rang the hotel during the day if I needed directions to other places from wherever I was! I recommend this hotel as a sanctuary to return to after a day in hectic Beijing. Lovely and warm in winter!

Grate hotel, Jand Garden”
The Jade Garden Hotel has a grate location downtown Beijing. We were 4 persons with 2 rooms and we stayed there for 6 days. Short walking distance to The Forbidden city and to the main shopping street. The staff was friendly and spoke english. If we needed something, it was doen right away. The breakfast was good, we could select if we wanted oriented or continental breakfast. The rooms were clean. If I am going to Beijing again I would definitely stay at Jade Garden Hotel.

Very Convenient Location at a Reasonable Price.”
The Jade Garden Hotel is very conveniently located near the Wangfujing downtown area. Walk one short block to the right and face right and you are at one end of the Wanfujing shopping area. Face left and walk about a half a block and you will find a post office to mail items back home. The post office even packages what you want to send for a small fee. As you are walking to Wanfujing you will find a night food market open until 10 pm. There are a number of restuarants and shops there. Across for the hotel are small shops selling drinks and snacks. Also, there are a few shops selling handicrafts. The area in front of the hotel is quiet and uncrowded. I was pleased with the interior design of the room. Since the price for the Standard room was so reasonable I decided to upgrade to a more roomy executive suite for still less than what I would pay elsewhere at another four star hotel. Also, my internet access was free compared to some other hotels who wanted to tack on an extra 20-30 rmb to the bill per day for internet use.

Jade Garden Hotel.Beijing”
Booked the Jade Garden on line through Agoda sight unseen. We arrived in Beijing on 20 Jan 2010 with a temperature of minus 15degrees celcius and a very cold wind. Arrived at the Jade Garden to be greeted by very helpfull staff and checked-in in a matter of minutes.Central heating was welcome relief to the extreme cold outside temperature. Our luggage was delivered to our room befor us and when entering our room ...The Executive deluxe suite... were greeted by a staff member who asked if we need anything fust to simply call them.Complementary fruit and chocklates. The room was very spacious and very clean.Very very large bathroom with a very big bathtub that was later to be a saviour for us.First to test the bed for comfort and can tell you was extremly comfortable with very good quality linnen. Most hotels I have stayed in in China the beds are very hard and in some cases the floor is better. But here simply luxury. Now to comnnect my lap top to the internet.Would not work so called recption and within 10minutes all was set up and was on line straight away. The central heating was a little to hot for us so a staff member came to our room and adjusted to a comfortable 21degrees in a few minutes. Only called reception once more and that was for a pair of nail clippers. They arrived in 5minutes. Everything that was in the room was of 5+star standard.Plenty of storage space and all very secure and safe. The meals were buffet style with a great choice of Asian or Western food or you could choose from the menu. On one morning we were being picked up at 6.00am to travel 3hours to Mount Simatai to mclimb the Great Wall and I mean climb. So asked the staff the evening prior if we could have an early breakfast at 5.00am.No problems they told us to come to the dining room when ready and we would be looked after. Went to the dining hall at 5.00am and waiting for were two staff members that came in early to attend to for our breakfast. We were the only persons there apart fo

Great location and service”
This was our first time in Beijing, and we enjoyed our stay at the Jade Garden Hotel. Our room was large and always kept clean. Bottled water, toiletries, and razors were replenished daily. Breakfast at the hotel was handy, but it would have been better if the hot dishes were warmer. We ate dinner twice in the Chinese restaurant on the basement floor. The roasted lamb dish as well as the shrimp with asparagus were delicious! Free Internet service in our room was fast, which was great because we used our laptop to plan our activities. Jack, the concierge, was very helpful and actually took us to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall for the same cost as a taxi. He waited for us as we hiked, took us to a small restaurant for lunch afterward, and found his way back to the Jade Garden during rush hour traffic. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Superb hotel”
a historical hotel that has been fully refurbished, retaining the ancient roof character, very nice. the hotel provides 4 small bottles of mineral water & 4 cans of soft drinks daily, the first i've ever come across in any hotel. room is spotless. air-conditioning may be a problem for some, quite warm for us, reason given it's autumn season. but they provided us a table fan. walking distance to the forbidden city, passing some small shops where you can buy cheaper beijing shoes with embroidery; short walk to wangfujing, food & shopping street. about 15-20 mins walk to the nearest subway, not too bad, buses easily available. would definitely come back.

Great location with free wifi!”
We really enjoyed our stay at The Jade Garden Hotel! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Meals were convenient and cheap for a hotel. Free wifi in the rooms! We received 4 cans of soda and 4 bottles of water for FREE daily! The location was within walking distance to Tienanmen Square and The Forbidden City. The only complaint we had was that the AC was set too high and we could not get it to go any cooler, even with several visits from housekeeping. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellant hotel - Great location and good value”
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen square, 5 minutes walk to Wangfujing shopping street and 2 minutes walk to the Wangfujing snack street that sells scorpions, sea horses, crickets, silk worms, star fish etc. Rooms include complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea and sodas (which is a plus). They also provide toiletries, robes, slippers, torch, magnifying glass, in room safe and 4 pillows. Beds were comfortable and not hard. The room had a large LCD TV that doubles as the monitor for the desktop computer and you can use this to surf the internet for free. The mouse was not functioning when we tried to use it but it was quickly replaced by housekeeping when we called to complain. Overall was very satisfied with the hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.

A historical hotel that is centrally located”
After much research, I booked Jade Garden Hotel for my recent trip to Beijing as Wangfujing Street, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square were nearby. Booked two Superior Standard rooms. The hotel is located on Nanheyan Road at the intersection with Dong’ anmen Road. The hotel was designated a historical landmark in 1995. It was chosen as the headquarters by the Communist Party Cease-Fire Delegation for the signing of the Cease-Fire Agreement with the Kuomingtang in 1946. Opposite the hotel, on Dong’ anmen Road, there are a few eateries and restaurants. The hotel is within walking distance to Wangfuijing Pedestrian Street (less than 10 minutes), Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square (15 – 20 minutes). 2 subway stations, Wangfujing & Dengshikou are also within 15 – 20 minute walk from the hotel. We had non-smoking rooms on level 4 which we requested during booking. There was not a trace of smoke in the rooms but smoking is allowed in the restaurants. The room is spacious but the furnishing is a little bare and old fashioned. There is a wardrobe with mini safe, a writing table, a fridge, a coffee table and 2 chairs. The bed was comfortable and we had good night’s sleep. There is no WiFi throughout the hotel, not even in the hotel lobby. However the hotel provided a personal computer and the TV doubles as the monitor in the room. Internet connection speed was decent but the internet service was flaky as censorship in China is rampant. The hotel provides a LAN cable for those who have their own laptops. The room and bathroom were clean and we had good housekeeping throughout our stay. 6 bottles of mineral water and Chinese tea bags were provided daily. However during our stay, on certain days only 2 bottles were replenished. When I checked-in, there was a staff who spoke English. On other occasions, I conversed with the front office staff in Chinese, so am not sure if they are able to speak English.

Jade Garden Hotel”
Excellent location near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in area with the character of 'Old Beijing', but just a short walk to a modern shopping street. Rooms typical of any hotel, but tastefully furnished and well equipped. Bathroom had separate drinking water tap and hotel supplied free drinks daily (coke, lemonade and water). Was most impressed with Broadband computer supplied in every room. Breakfast not included in room rate, but a substantial buffet was provided at a very reasonable rate, dinner also an excellent buffet. Probably the bet value for money hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff were excellent, particularly the concierge who spoke good English and went out of his way to be helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Beijing.

Nice Stay at the Jade Garden Hotel ”
The Jade Garden Hotel is a very unique, historic property. The location is great, offering easy access to many sights and activities. The staff isn't really proficient in English, making it difficult to get as much help from them as you otherwise would if you were able to speak Mandarin. The breakfast offered at the hotel is not very good, especially since you are surrounded by great places to eat within a block of the hotel. Taxi's were always easy to hail from the front of the hotel. Getting back was sometimes difficult though, since most of the taxi drivers were not familiar with the hotel. We were told by one driver that we should ask for the Kapok Hotel (right next to Jade Garden Hotel) because it is more well known. Overall, this is a fine hotel and I would absolutely stay again and recommend it to others.

Great location and confortable room”
we stayed 5 nights in Jade Garden Hotels and enjoyed every moments. It is very near to Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square (to watch daily morning and evening flag rising and lowering ceremony), Wangfujing 1 km shopping street and night markets. Walking distance to subway Wangfujing station and Tian'anmen East station. Restaurants for local foods, fast foods, muslim foods are nearby/surrounded from the hotel.
