"I stayed 4 nights total after finding a good rate for my timeframe on Agoda. The room was small and simple, and all I needed since I was staying to see more of the city. The bathroom was big to walk into and fantastic with only standing shower. Importantly, the window opens wide, so you can get air if needed. A small refrigerator under the desk keeps drinks and snacks cold. I did not find it overwhelming hot otherwise in the room; but enjoy the option to open a window (unlike another room in far, far fancier hotel to begin my trip where the room was 86F!0--it only had a chincy roller screen open thing that a desk clerk had to tell me about at 5 am as I couldn't sleep first night). Finally, the modern and fast elevator was welcome each day. Grid Inn's staff was exceptionally friendly and service oriented. I had trouble with the safe, so they fixed it for me promptly, so I could use it. I ate first day on arriving at the Grid Inn cafe, which served a simply and sumptuous cream noodle dish I finished off with the spoon for only like $6US or so. Staff watched over my bag last day after checkout so I could see more sights while waiting to go to airport using the super convenient and cheap airport bus that stops on the big boulevard out front of the hotel, in front of the McDonald's restaurant. $10US or less. Grid Inn just opened staff told me in December 2016, so that is why there are so few reviews. Surrounding it is a genuine working area, where you walk through the little alleys to get to the Grid Inn; easy to find if you look up from the big street. Just tell the taxi drive to look up. Trophy shops and machine shops with closed metal garage doors abound; a 7-11 is 1 minute walk away 24 hours. The fish eatery next to the hotel entrance was super popular with locals, though I did not try it. I walked by and observed them cooking over open flames for the big crowd they got. Walk a block South and you'll find that restored stream where the city t"

"The best owners we ever had they were very hospitable and assisted us with planning where and how to go to the place we wanted to visit. The owners also make great tradisional Korea breakfast which were super nice. The owner also helped us to order Korea famous fried chicken for our supper when we request to. We are extremely grateful for all that he had done for us. Gung Hanok Guesthouse is located a few minutes walk from exit 5 at Jongno 3-ga Station which we can direct transit at the main station (Seoul Station) from the airport. The location is in a quiet location between Hanok Village, Jongmyo Shrine and Changdoekgung Palace, walking distance from these sights. We even walk to Insadong and only spend 10 to 15 mins from Gung Hanok Guesthouse. There was a small supermarket near the Guesthouse too. The room were clean, tidy and provided private bathroom. Gung Hanok Guesthouse is really nice place to stay. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong Hotel is one of the best non-luxury hotels I've ever stayed at. Rooms are extremely clean, the bed is soft by Asian standards, breakfast and lunch buffets are generous for the price point, and facilities are modern. Ibis cuts cost in ways that don't impact the stay much: there are no disposable toiletries (there is a shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower) but you can buy a toothbursh, razor, etc for a reasonable price. There's no mini bar, but you still get a fridge in the room. Porters do not carry luggage to your room, but there are luggage carts available. Service is oriented towards self-resolution. For example, when asked to book a taxi, front desk staff wrote down the name of our destination in Korean and instructed us to hail a cab outside, which proved easy enough. When we asked more general questions or had issues with facilities (a safe with low batteries), staff responded quickly and comprehensively. Notably, laundry machines let you wash or dry your clothes for KRW 1,000/load, which is very competitive. There are also hot/cold/warm water dispensing machines on each floor, so there's no need to get bottled water. The rooms were wonderfully cosy. They were not large, but there was enough room for a desk, closet, shelving, and a bench. My companion and I both slept unusually well while staying here. Finally, the location is fantastic. A short walk to 2 different train stations and to Insadong street, this Ibis is central, surrounded by restaurants, and easy to find. "

"It's the best value for money hotel I have ever stayed in Korea. It has white marble flooring, computer, TV, lift, wifi, mini bars with free drinks, and comfortable bed. Boss is very nice although he don't know much English. Provide prompt service to service computer and also has many useful tour guides booklets to go around Seoul! The Angguk Subway station is just 5 minutes away and Changdeokgung palace is just right across the street. The Jongmyo Shrine is just nearby that palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace which is the main palace is just 15 minutes walk away! Convenience store is just right in front of the hotel! There are restaurants around! The bed is so comfortable that makes you lazy to wake up!I can check in early when I arrive at around 12pm although check in time was 2pm. Then I can also extend 1 hour stay to check out at 1 pm instead of 12pm to ease my journey schedule. Pretty cool adventure when first entering the room. Everything is touch sensors! Once you find Changdeokgung Palace's entrance, opposite the entrance there is a lane across the street. Walk along the lane, you can find this hotel. Very classy yet bang for buck hotel! The bosss is very negotiable! He'll always try the best to satisfy the customers! Totally worth it!"
