Klong Prao Resort Oct/Nov 2014”

Really enjoyed Klong Prao Resort. The room (a standard D) was really good, spacious, overlooked the beach. I have stayed in the Klong Prao area before and this resort was the best value to date. Great breakfast and great evening meals etc. Great location for further exploration of Koh Chang but you do need to hire transport to make the best of it (unless you just like lying in the sun). Wifi a little disappointing as only available at the reception unless you pay for it. The beach is nice and is a nice 2km walk one way and 2km back.Some restaurants and shops in easy reach.

Tropical paradise resort”

Situated in the Klong Prao bay area on the island Ko Chang in the Gulf of Thailand, Klong Prao Resort offers a good variety of accomodation, excellent beach restaurant and excellent service at very reasonable prices. During the dry season (December - March) the weather is warm (25 - 30 degrees centigrade)and bathing in the sea is very safe but an outdoor swimming pool, complete with bar is also available. Canoes can be hired for exploring lagoon, nearby river and sea. Don't miss waterfall a couple of kilometers away.

A place like paradise”

Comming to Klong Prao Resort after travelling for many days was like comming to paradise. The place has a lovely location right on a fantastic beach with clean water and good conditions for swimming and jogging. The huts are nicely placed around a pond with a romantic bridge to cross on our way to the room. The park around was well kept with a lot of flowers and trees. Around the pool and on the beach we could find a bed in the shadow to relax and read and overlook the sea and the sunset. All the rooms has a veranda where we could sit and have a drink before dinner. The restaurant has good food to reasonable prices, right on the beach. Very romantic. Practical with the little "mart" where we could buy necesseties. Very friendly and helpful staff. We'd love to come again and bring some friends.

It was a great stay”

Our stay was great at Klong Prao Resort. Resort is only half and hour away from the pier. It has a fascinating beach and the restaurant is by the beach. Resort provides free wi-fi but it is only at reception area. You have your massage done next the beach or pool. Staff was very friendly. Specially many thanks the executive chef because when I mentioned that I was muslim and could not eat the egg where bacon cooked, he immediately fried the eggs on a separate pan. Just one advise to the hotel management, that would be great If they could put a computer at reception for guest use. coz the nearest internet cafe is a couple of miles away from the resort.

Very Impressive Beach-sea view”

We booked Deluxe Double room which unexpectedly we would get the best view of Khong Prao beach. The building is actually next to beach. The resort area is very clean nice beach and have Kayak for rent 150 THB/hour. The breakfast is good but if they have Halal breakfast section would be super appreciated for Muslim guests. The amenities are well equipped. The location of the resort is accessible to everything Koh Chang can offer such as elephant riding camp as well as Khlong Plu waterfall. Love the trip and Klong Prao Resort is the important factor that made my trip very delightful.

Friendly Midrange Resort Away From Crowds”

I like to hope around a few different accoms. when on holidaying to get a wider understanding of my holiday destination. Klong Prao was the firt place I stayed in, probably the best food on Koh Chang, from the buffet breakfast to dining in the evening. There is lots of staff around at all times, they're very friendly & helpful. The location is safe and so so close to the beach. A nice non-expensive resort, great for the mid-budget traveler.

Beautiful location on the beach.”

Stayed 3 nights for my girlfriend's birthday an had a great time. The beach is clean an very big. Not busy or crowded as White sand beach but not as far out of the way as Lonely beach, Klong Prao beach is a good in between. The staff were very helpful an friendly. The room was large, clean an had a amazing view of the beach / ocean. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Koh Chang.

Good beach, nice bungalows, but a bit weared off”

good value for money and seaview deluxe worth it. however a bit weared off rooms and beach equipment. rich breakfast (but it's common in thai). klong prao beach not a party place, so if you go for a nightlife consider white sand beach instead. wi-fi - 1 hour = 2$. hotel's beach restaurant not the best place for dinner - but still okey and not too overpriced. scooter/car rent just outside the hotel as well as nice cafe kokiri (delicious, good price, free wi-fi, but no view) and sovernir mart.

Secluded, but yet easily accessible!”

klong prao resort has a beautiful beach and feels very "private" and secluded, even though public service is easily accessible and the hotel offers many services itself. the atmosphere is calm and the beach is well suited for small children. the rooms might need a little bit of renovation to feel "top-notch", but otherwise this is a hotel that offers a high standard. the breakfast was excellent, as well as the food in the little restaurant.

Loacted at the best beach in Koh Chang!”

This hotel is an excellent 3 star hotel. We stayed at a Deluxe Seaview with a fabulous view. These rooms were of a good size and comfortale beds. The breakfasts were great, both the western style and the traditional Thai rice soup worth a try. Klong Prao is not as busy as White Sand Beach or Kai Bae beaches despite having an excellent beach. This hotel is listed as 3 star but I would suggest it is has the potential to become a 4 star resort. I would certainly recommend Klong Prao Resort to anyone visiting Koh Chang who wants to be away from the crowds of White Sand Beach - it's only 10 mins by rented bike anyway.

Relaxing Getaway”

We had a beach view room that had a balcony and a wooden chairs where we could watch the sunsets from. And I must add that the sunsets at Klong Prao beach are stunning!!! It was a very relaxing stay at the resort - you can choose to swim at the pool, get a massage, or simply tan or read by the beach with an unblocked view of the horizon right from the beach lounge chairs. They have a minimart within the resort which is convenient. However, the prices are slightly more expensive compared to shops outside. What I really liked about this place was their beachfront restaurant which offered a good variety and affordably priced. Not the cheapest option in Koh Chang but if you want a relaxing getaway, this is a good place to look. Also popular with families with kids - they have a big trampoline!

Beautiful beach resort”

Beautiful beach resort situated at the beginning of klong Prao beach. This means that you need to hire a motorcycle or bring a car with you to get to the busier parts of the coast but there are a few small restaurants within walking distance. Saying this, the rooms were lovely, the staff always polite and attentive and the location idyllic.

WONDERFUL stay at Khlong Prao”

We've visited resorts in Thailand and Koh Chang a few times, but were really impressed with Khlong Prao on every level. The geography is totally unique from other places on Koh Chang being that its situated directly on a real Lagoon that surrounds the property. The bungalows have views of ocean out front and the lagoon and mountains from your back porch/yard. We highly recommend Khlong Prao, and will be returning again for sure.

Nice and quiet resort with excellent location”

We enjoyed our stay in Klong Prao Resort. A nice and quiet place, excellent located at beachside. The day started with a very good breakfast. For dinner there is a good restaurant with a various menu of Thai-Food, but also BBQ. Friendly staff, nice people around, next year again.

Great place ”

My 3rd trip to Koh Chang first time at Klong Prao Resort, staff was great very friendly and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. I will definitely stay here again.

Great experience”

This was our second stay at the Klong Prao Resort and it pleased us well. Its a good place to relax. Excelent breakfast bufé and a good resturant at location near the beach. Frendly staff. All in all it made a great impresion and we are looking forward to return again.

Great location with lovely pool area ”

We stayed two nights at the Klong Prao Resort. First we stayed in a standard room, which was dark, small, painted with oil color, poor bathroom with shower only and old, separate beds. Only recommendation: stay away! The second night we upgraded to a Deluxe Beachview room for just bit more money, which was much better, with a large room, good king-size bed, large, bright bathroom with bathtub and direct access to the beach from the large veranda. The pool area is wonderful, with a pool bar (unfortunately closed during our stay), waterfall, children pool area and it's located directly at the beach. Unfortunately we could not take a swim in the sea, as there were lots of jellyfish at the time which I believe is a general problem around this area of Koh Chang. A bit of a disappointment was also that no Internet access is offered (according to the staff only during the low season). Overall we found the resort to be good value for money.

good hotel on the beach”

even though an old property, our stay at klong prao resort was a pleasant one.it is centrally located with easy access to white sands, kai bae and below. food at the resturant was good and their breakfast spread excellent. the rooms are big with bath tub and a separate shower area and are leaned everyday. However the wifi access in the room is not available. overall it was a good stay....will surely recommend

Beautiful resort directly at the beach”

We stayed 2 nights at Klong Prao Resort, first night in a standard room and one time in a deluxe beach bungalow. The standard room was disappointing, small, old and unattractive with oil-painted walls and worn out beds. The deluxe was much better, large room, king-size bed, bathroom with tub, flooded with sunlight in the morning. The only thing we disliked was that there is no Internet access offered, and the next Internet Café is quite a walk from the hotel. Unfortunately, there were also lots of jellyfish, which made swimming in the sea impossible. But this problem is not caused by or restricted to the resort of course.

We really enjoyed our stay”

we had a nice relaxing time and enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach. It is not far from nice food restaurants. The room is clean and well organized With all the necessities. The breakfast offers good selection of local and foreign foods. We will always consider Klong Prao when we want to go to KohChang for relaxation. There are also many night entertainment such as bars and food outlets.
