Great Hotel - excellent location”

This hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and cooperative, and the location of this hotel is within a one minute walk to the Shanghai Railway Station and Metro. The hotel's location allows quick access to the Metro which allows you to get anywhere in Shanghai quickly and inexpensively. The food is good and I live at the Ya Fan Longmen every visit to Shanghai.

There are a lot of tour groups staying here and the staff is overwhelmed with taking care of them. The area surrounding the hotel is not the most attractive in Shanghai. It's easy to go elsewhere by subway or taxi. The hotel is well maintained and quiet, a bit surprising since it is in the midst of highways and next to the railway station. It's not a particularly pleasant area. One thing that bothers me about this hotel is that it doesn't offer free internet access in the rooms. There is no excuse for this and the management should reconsider their position. The rooms and bathrooms are attractive and good sized.

Convenient Location for city travel”

Friendly staff were very accommodating with my requests. Conveniently located 2 minutes walk from Shanghai Railway Station and the subway. Spacious rooms with decent view.

Fine, good location, but no free internet”

rooms were of a acceptable standard if only staying for a few nights. lighting wasn't great in the room or bathroom, but everything was clean and the room was a decent size. the lobby staff were helpful with our questions with a pretty good level of english. the only problem was that there is no free internet (cable or wifi) in the hotel, you can pay for cable internet which seemed relatively expensive compared to the room prices. we went to starbucks down the road (about 10-15min walk) to use their free wifi a couple of times. there also aren't many restaurants around, but a couple of convenience stores that are open late, so as breakfast wasn't included in our room price we just bought some food from there. the reason we chose this hotel for it's location - about 200m from the entrance to the main railway station and the subway.

Nice hotel”

it's a nice hotel. rooms are quite big, staff is helpful. the only thing i didn't like is that it's too close to the railway station, which makes the area around the hotel too noisy and crowded.

fantastic location for our needs”

i teach in wuxi and i needed to pick up my son who was flying in late night at pvg and then leave early the next morning for wuxi by train. this hotel was perfect for what i needed. the staff was super helpful, the hotel was very clean, and the proximity to the train station was exactly what i needed and this hotel fit that perfectly. i strongly recommend this hotel for travelers that have similar needs.

surprisingly quiet hotel”

The hotel is about three minutes walk from the main train station. It seems to attract its share of tour groups both Western and Asian. So there are tour buses pulling in and out of the parking lot. No complaints about the room. The bathroom is modern and good sized. The subway line is within about five minutes walk. There are a number of fast food places in the general area but it does have the general ambience of a train station and that gets old fast.

Great hotel and location”

Arrived from Beijing by train 11 hour journey, the hotel was less than 5 minutes from the rail station, English at this hotel not good but you can get through it. The room was large and a great view of the river and part of the city. near shopping area and Peoples Square. Lots to do and see

non-flashy hotel”

This hotel is 5-min walk from Shanghai train station. That's the only reason we stayed there. Rated as 4-star hotel, this hotel provides average service quality. It feels like 3-star hotel. The room is said to be non-smoking, but you can definitely smell cigarette. The room is a bit disappointing, with many lamps not working. I would not stay there if I don't have to catch a train next day.

Short Stay”

from hongqiao railway station you have to change line if you are taking the subway train to the hotel, quite tedious if you have to carry your luggages as there are no lift in sight or escalators. it is quite difficult to get a taxis outside the hotel unless you get the hotel concerige to book for you. in the night, we have to walk to the basement taxis queue of the shanghai railway station in order to get a taxis.

hotel is located within 5 - 10 mins walk to shanghai railway station. recommended for travellers who wish to take the high speed train to other cities. quite a distance to the nearest lrt station. room size is quite big but furnishing is old.

2* hotel striving to become 4*”

Not 4 star quality. Front desk was grossly understaffed, resulting in long waits. Staff not adequately trained to ask questions. Focused on charging rather than service. Use of computer with internet was 2 RMB/minute. Previous two hotels I stayed at offered that service free. Even coffee and tea in the room had a charge on them. Suggestion: focus on service.

The room is good with a good view of a park. It's quite small, but it doesn't matter when compared to the excellent location.

上海駅の前で場所は良いです。部屋も意外と広くて綺麗でした。問題はインターネットが有料でした。後はバスタブが有ったことは良かったです。

中国のホテルってこんなものでしょうか？”

スタッフの対応は最悪です。チェックアウトする時も謝謝もサンキューもなかった。とにかく、中国ってそういう国です。どこで、買い物しても、明らかに会計を待っているのが目に入っているのに、無視して、自分のやっていることを優先する、平気で客を待たせる、そういうのが彼らの常識なんでしょう。それをどうこう言ってもしょうがないので、我慢するしかないですね・・・

駅が近く、移動にはかなり便利！”

値段、部屋のレベル、立地を考えると、駅付近のどのホテルに泊まるよりもお得だと思います。ただ、スタッフの水準は低いです。まず、荷物預かりのスタッフはお願いをしても全く返事もなく、無言、無表情で仕事をする。早朝、列車のチケットを買い再びホテルの部屋に戻ると、掃除のおばさんが部屋にいた…勝手にベットを…、ごめんなさいと謝られたが、ちょっと不快でした。
