It’s in the centre of everything, close to the metro station. A few minutes walk to the shopping street. There’s a 24/7 convenient store at the bottom. The best isn’t it? The staffs are amazing and it’s really clean! The room can be loud however but aside from that it’s amazing
I stayed for 6 nights in a single room with only 1 bed in 4F and recommend this room for solo traveller you should specifically ask for this room. There are other 1 bed rooms with horrible ventilation, they dont have a big window like mine. Generally roóms in 5F is better since it is cleaner, better toilet, fewer people, close to kitchen. Nobody cleans my room for those 7 days, probably I must have asked. Bring your own towel bc what they give is too small especially for long hair. Bring your own travel adapter too, the plug in KR has specific depth, or you can visit daiso sinchon to buy one. Tiny common space. No scale to measure your luggage. Cant say staff is friendly. They forced me to pay beforehand, while the pay at property is avaible, and I reported to agoda to no avail. The sex toy shop on the 2nd floor of that building is quite cheap.
For those looking to having a night out staying in Hong Dae for a reasonable price, Mamas and Papas has a good cost performance value. Although the hostel beds and facilities are basic, you do have a communal kitchen, free Wi-Fi, filtered water, etc. that most hostels provide. As a previous reviewer stated, it's not really a place to stay long term but if you are looking to have a fun night out in Hong Dae for a third of the price or less for it's ideally located position near popular nightclubs, bars, restaurants and shopping, this place is great to crash for the night. Also, staff employee Beena was kind, friendly and informative, which was much appreciated after a long day's journey.
The 6 bed womens room can get very warm at night, the window in the room doesn't or didn't open and the aircon unit can't be turned on as it is right on top of someone's head. I had to have my own fan going to keep me cool enough to sleep. Other than that it was a good enough stay. Although the space in the cooking area of the kitchen is a bit too tight as only 1 person at a time can really cook as the main table is right then to the cooker and if someone is sitting at the table and someone else is cooking there's no room. So you're gonna have to wait til 1 of them moves. Also the lighting in the kitchen is not the best. There is 2 main lights so at night it can get a little darker than most places would with better lights. But like I said it was a nice enough stay.

Again, given how pricey accommodation is, this was the cheapest i could find when booking. But it was good. The Nepalese girl often working the check-in speaks Korean, and her English is good. She was nice. The bathrooms could probably be a little nicer but they weren’t unclean - just the perpetual wetness from having the showers in the same room as the toilet, this is what you get in much of an authentic Asian building/house. Location is superb. Hongdae is a popular neighborhood. Pretty Close to subway into downtown, although the Seoul bike app doesnt work :/ Bed was comfortable. No curtains however. My bed creaked a lot though. Lockers are small, but it’s Korea - you’re safe. I wasn’t awoken at night as the clubs are a few streets away. AC can be adjusted.
