Mapo hotels & places to stay

The GLAD MAPO hotel was great and the staff was super accommodating, even allowing us to change our rooms after some confusion regarding the initial booking. RIght outside the hotel were a few bars and restaurants in the area (Gong-deok road was right there and there was a variety of food choices in this fusion of old and new street) as well as two exits to the metro station (Exit 8 and 9). The location is also great as it is in a central location in terms of all the metro locations, including a 5-10 minute rides to Meyeongdong, Itaewon, Gangnam, and more. All in all, I would book here again on my next visit.

Shilla Stay Mapo is very easy to find, 5min walk from train station exit 1 and if you take taxi, drivers know this hotel, you don't have to show address or map. Room is small, not very new but very clean. However, location is not convenient for shopping and eating. If you like to shop at Hongdae or Dongdaemun or Myeongdong and thinking it's not far away, you are wrong! Although it's just 1 stop away from Hongdae, but you have to walk inside the train station for 10-15min at least, so to go to Hongdae, it takes you almost 30min! Can you imagine?! I have no complains about this hotel, their staff is super friendly and helpful but I will not stay again because of the location. I want to put my shopping stuff back to hotel and go out again, or I could do last min shopping like in Myeongdong, apparently with Shilla Stay Mapo, I cannot. In future, I will choose to stay at Hongdae or Myongdong.

I stayed with my family for the second time. The last stay was much better then the previous one. It may be because I am getting to use to a great service, nice environment of the hotel. When you travel with your young child it is important room condition, for Lotte Mapo this wasn't the problem, the rooms that I have stayed were so clean with good housekeeping service. Swimming pool is important as well, we enjoyed using it. The best is it works until 10 p.m. The other good thing is the hotel provides a shuttle bus to main shopping areas. Also, public buses and KAL limousine bus stops to/from the airport are located right in front of the Lotte Mapo. The Dongdeuk subway station is right downstairs of Lotte Mapo hotel.

It was really convenient for us to get around - 1min to Mapo Station (exit 3) and 4min to Gong Deok Station (exit 8, direct line to Airport). There are also plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and convenience stores just BEHIND the hotel. If you're looking at bars/pubs, there is an entire street of it diagonally left, across the road. My husband and I loved that Kyochon and BHC (2 of the best Korean fried chicken places) are just in the street behind the hotel! There was a little hiccup though, our bolt lock broke down and we got locked in, but they got us out within half an hour. The hotel manager's professional attitude and service made up for everything - we were promptly upgraded to a bigger room and offered lunch on the hotel (which we declined as I wanted to have waffles from Caffe Bene). Our luggages were moved to the new room, so there was minimal disruption. I didn't think much of it when the hotel manager asked when we would be returning to the hotel, but he actually stayed through until we came back from sightseeing that night (around 9-10pm). Overall, an excellent experience!

I stayed in the guesthouse for 7 days with my two daughters (aged 6 and 13). The room (large for 4 persons) is clean and amazing, with a sitting room and an open kitchen (commonly used by other two rooms). It was close to the Mapo Subway surrounded by restaurants. It was managed by a couple, a lady and a man assistant (also a puppy). All treated you as friends and gave you feeling at home. They picked up us at Subway by car. We played board games and had hot drink at the common area on ground floor. The guesthouse had a rooftop garden. We joined a New Year Eve party with a band playing Korean pop music. I thanked the lady assistant to company my daughter, who originally went outside alone at evening, for 3-4 hours in her own expenses, until I met my daughter. It is better than many star hotels. I highly recommended this guesthouse to anyone who wanted unforgettable holidays.

This has got to be the best Guesthouse I have stayed in. Firstly, the room is well equipped and has a cable TV set, washing machine, microwave oven and a kitchen sink. Area is pretty reasonable with more than enough space for 2 open luggages. The air conditioning is strong, unlike other guesthouses that provide mediocre ones. Common areas are very clean and there is effort in ensuring that is smells good with timed air fresheners. The boss of the guesthouse is extremely friendly with guests and really does his best to serve them all. The staff is attentive with good english and mandarin language competencies. Check in and check out is fast. Location is just half a minute walk from Ewha Woman's university station and the surrounding encompasses the shopping districts with plenty of food options and convenience stores nearby. Only thing I could possibly gripe about is the lack of a lift to the second story of the building but it does not really matter anyway because the staffs are willing to come down and help with the luggage. Not to mention security is pretty good too with CCTVs extending to even the outside of the guesthouse. All in all, a definite good stay for the budget traveller!

This guesthouse is best. Very woman friendly, only woman guest allowed, provided a complete woman daily needs, hair comb, hair dryer, hair curler, shampoo, soaps. The location is only 3 mins to Daeheung Station. The staff is very friendly, Bobae eonni dan the cute cat keumbab ^.^ We have to cook the breakfast by our own, it felt like we are homestaying not hostel staying and it is good experience. Surely if I am back to Seoul definitely will staying in here again. With our budget costed for this guesthouse, I am very satisfied and worthed it.

it was a super good experience as they hostel, Ms Ina. she is nice because my flight was arrived at 8am and she allow me checked in at 1030am. Surprising me when she opened the door, her 1st image to me is FUNNY cause she just woke up. this guesthouse is warm, hostel Ina is friendly to share the travel tips in Seoul and the breakfast is free. sometime you will get bonus food if Ina is free to cook for you. so enjoy in this guesthouse a lot.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Suhee's place for 4 nights and I think it was one of our best decisions in this trip. If you are consider booking this place, do it straight away because I think it is usually fully booked. The apartment is exactly like what is shown in the pictures. There is a double bed by the window, another double bed on the attic and a sofa that can be pulled out as a bed for the 5th person. We had everthing we need from detergent, clothes drying rack to tranditional hanbok. The bed was nice and comfy. The toilet was new and clean. And the best thing is we had total freedom during our stay. Suhee will only drop by if we need to clear the garbage and occasionally check on us via email to make sure everything is ok. Totally recommend Suhee's place.
