Our overall stay at MIMPI Perhentian was amazing and memorable. Here are some highlights and areas for improvement based on our experience: Sea View Room The room was spacious, comfortable, and reasonably clean. Waking up to the view of the ocean was absolutely refreshing. Hotel Amenities Generally acceptable. However, the lobby toilet was quite smelly and had a lot of sand, which could be better maintained. Dining Options The hotel offers a buffet spread only on certain days, depending on the package. Pricing is on the higher side, but not unreasonable. Thankfully, the entire Long Beach stretch has a great variety of food options – from Western and Thai to local Malaysian cuisine – all of which tasted amazing and truly satisfying. Convenient Location The hotel is directly attached to the jetty terminal for Long Beach, which makes it super convenient upon arrival. It’s just a short walk to carry your bags, though no porter service is provided. Daily In-Room Snacks A pleasant touch – the mini fridge was stocked daily with canned drinks and snacks. Comfortable Cooling Each room has individual air-conditioning, allowing for great temperature control, especially after a day out in the sun. Toilet Lighting One minor drawback: the toilet lighting was a bit dim, and since there’s no window, there’s limited natural light. Entertainment TV channels were sufficient, offering some variety for downtime. Snorkeling Access You can snorkel right in front of the hotel near the jetty – very convenient for marine lovers. Clean Gear The snorkeling gear provided was clean and properly disinfected, which we appreciated. Suggestions for Improvement It would be great if the hotel could offer kid-friendly rooms or activities, like a babysitting service, so parents can enjoy activities like island hopping more freely.
