Convenient and Historic”
I booked the hotel for my family and friends on their way to my wedding in China. Despite a lot of confusion over the bookings, and a mistake on the part of the hotel, they were very accommodating and solved the problem quickly. The art deco design of the hotel is interesting and historic, and the rooms were larger than I expected given it's central location. They didn't have breakfast included in our bookings, which was disappointing, but they are extremely convenient to street breakfast, Starbucks, and other nicer places to eat (for other meals as well). Their convenient location to Line 2 made for an easy transition between Pudong airport, Hongqiao airport/train station, and Shanghai Railway station, as well as easy access to sites and nightlife on Line 1, and minimal taxi rides to other locations. It's also a comfortable and enjoyable walk to the Bund. All-in-all, I think this hotel, booked at about 100 USD per room (both twin/double were more or less the same price), was well worth the price based on it's great service, fantastic location, and comfortable accommodations.

I visit Shanghai 2 - 3 times a year. The location of this Hotel could not have been more convenient. Just across the street from People's Square Station Exit 8. The name 'Park Hotel' is even highlighted under the Exit 8 sign board in People's Square station. The places I usually like to go drinking & eating in the evenings is Yuan's Bingo Bar, Irish Pub & Oh Bar when I have no appointments, which are walking distances from this Hotel. I had a seminar at Marriott City Center, which is also located very close-by 3-4 mins walking. The front Desk Staff, Hotel Concierge & Front Door Man are all very helpful & courteous, better than some of the places I have stayed before. However, the Hotel needs a ramp at the entrance & some TV channels were not clear & TV needs to be in the center of the room and not on far corner. I recommend this Hotel to other visitors & travelers who visit Shanghai for both Business or pleasure, solo or Family.

A hotel with great location, convenience, history”
This hotel is a historical landmark of Shanghai. Once the tallest building in the city years ago. The interior is still well-preserved with its historical elegance blended with modern amenities. The single room is comfy for a single traveller. The people park metro station is just right opposite the road with the famous Nanjing west shopping street 5 minutes walk away. It's easy to go everywhere since People park metro is one of the interchange station with 3 different lines. Museums attractions are also 5-10 minutes walk away. A hotel with great location, convenience, history and class. Not to forget, its has a nice japanese restaurant and a certified pearl shop in the hotel itself. However, i'm extremely not happy with agoda and the hotel when i made changes to my booking and my first night payment not able to be refund due to their late communication.

This is the famous Park Hotel in Shanghai”
Great location... near the center of Huangpu area where all the activities of Shanghai is located. Within walking distance to museums, the People's park, shopping area, Bund and other tourist traps. I sometimes come here when I'm in this side of Shanghai. My only complaint about this hotel is that they put me next to a crikety sounding elevator. As long as you are not staying next to the elevator, your stay at this hotel should be a very good one.

Convenient location, walking distance to subway in people square, and there is shuttle bus offered between hotel and Shanghai airport though we have not got chance to take it. It is a heritage hotel with glorious history, which was offered to the foreigners only, but now every one can have chance to stay as long as you can afford it.

Park Hotel is a good value in Shanghai with a very convenient location just across from People's Square and the Metro Line 2. The appearance and some rooms are dated but the staff are very efficient, helpful, and proficient at English. A short walk away is the famous Nanjing Road pedestrian shopping area, a fantastic mix of modern and traditional Chinese shopping venues.

Family trip to Shanghai”
The hotel is right in the center of Shanghai. Perfect for tourists. The rooms are clean and the staff are helpful / friendly. It would help if you have a translator though because some of their staff are not as fluent in english. There's also a fast food and 24hr bread shop near the hotel so you won't have to worry about starving when staying up late. Directions to the hotel from the train: Take Line 2 to People's Park. Exit 9. Do not go to West Nanjing Station as this is 1km away from the hotel.

Great location, but take breakfast across the road”
the location of the hotel is close to all the most important subways of the city and the shopping areas in the old heart of the city. it's at walking distance from the famous bund and yangtze, and the opera and concert hall are right across the road. great also for business travelers needing to visit the shanghai exhibition and congress center, which is at walking distance. chinese restaurants are around the corner for a quick, excellent, even cheap, meal. wifi is free, but only functions (slowly) in the lobby of the hotel. one of the very agreeable features of the hotel room were the good size writing desk and the old english quality bed sheets. nothing cheapie there! on the 1st fl. is a service center where you can order your train or plane tickets delivered with no extra charge, even a discount, though you have to pay cash (atm is next door to the hotel). breakfast is not included, but don't get seduced into having it at the hotel, it's disappointing, the coffee machine for real beans didn't work, service was below standard. across the road however there is a small coffee shop (next to starbucks if you don't fancy that) where the coffee is really good, breakfast recommendable and the internet real quick.

Nice stay”
I've stayed in several old hotels in China that have been through some renovation, but this one is the best. The room is very nice, not feels like an old room in an old hotel. It is located just across metro exit in People's Square Interchange Station. From the airport, just take the Maglev Train, and then change to Metro directly to People's Square Station. Every morning I notice many local tour groups departs near the hotel area. I joined 2 different local tour in the city, all of them also depart from this area.

Historic hotel”
This was one of the major Shanghai hotels for most of the century, but with the influx of new hotels, has become reachable for commoners. Its conveniently located off "ren min guang chang" metro stop (right across the street) and is walking distance to restaurants and NanJing shopping street. Close to major sightseeing areas in Shanghai. The age does show in this hotel, but rooms are large even by US standards. Our bathroom was clean and included both a bathtub and standing shower. All amenities provided. Staff was nice. Be prepared for 500 RMB deposit, which is returned to you upon check-out.

A good, clean and centrally located hotel ”
Had a pleasant 2 nights stay at the hotel. Very conveniently located in the Peoples Square area near to abundant shopping and eateries. Easy to reach from Pudong International Airport by taking to Meglev train to Longyang Station where you can connect to the metro train line 2 to Peoples Square station which is just 7 stops away. Park Hotel is just across the street from the metro station.

Good value for money hotel”
Location of the hotel gives this hotel a bang for buck as it is right opposite of a major metro stop. It is also nearby the famous nanjing pedestrian street where there is plenty of restaurants, shops to kill your time. rooms are alright for that price in downtown shanghai, rooms are comfortable enough, staff were friendly. overall a good hotel.

It's a quite great hotel in terms of it's location and reasonal price. In our experience, we need to pay more if we reserve the hotel from Park Hotel Shanghai itself. We would highly recommmend that reserve the hotel from Agoda as it sometimes has promotion price like 50% off we had this time. It definitely save us lots of budget if we have to stay longer for business purpose.

Lovely hotel, great location”
The Park Hotel is one of those "grand Dame" hotels with lots of history. The hotel was renovated , I think, in 1996. It still has charm and an art deco feel. The strongest point, I feel, is it's location. It is directly across from the metro center, People's Park, and right by the pesdestrian shopping street. The Shainghai Museum is in the Park...all very walkable. This lets the visitor have easy access to some of Shainghai's delights.

This a very nice hotel. It has that 20s/30's flare that was so much of Shanghai society. The hotel was redone in 1996 replications it's former glory. Great location..metro across the street, can walk to museums and the has a great pedistrian shopping street (go out the door to your left & cross street to under ground passageway). The metro is safe and very clean. We are looking forward to returning.

Perfect location with poor management”
The location is perfect with reasonable room size in comparison with those 4 stars hotels, they service quality is not bad and they had provided the gym facilities (although under the standard, better than nothing, right? = ] ). I have also enjoyed the meal in their Chinese restaurant, the taste is not bad. However, the management was a bit out of my expectation. For instance, I booked the room there for three people and they just provided me two single beds, although the manager explained that this is not the single size bed. However, this is obviously not the double bed, I took a picture for those beds. Thus I have to be forced to pay the extra money for adding a single bed inside my room. Besides, there are some procuring (prostitution) to disturb those residents without the protection by the staffs after midnight. The reason for selected this hotel because of my family member, they said that Park Hotel Shanghai was a very famous hotel in Shanghai before, so I selected it. However, I will never select this hotel and will not recommend my friends to stay after this trip. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed as this is the problem of reputation and confidence from the visitors instead of the matter of money. Wish they would improve in the future.
