The place was awesome for the money. This was my first stay at a hostel, and I stayed one night here. The atmosphere was nice and friendly (greeted me in English), and the facilities were good. There is a common area with a kitchenette, dining area, and pool table. The common area was clean. The bathroom was a little small but the shower, toilet, and sink are all separate so you could have three people doing their business at the same time. The whole bathroom area was pretty clean. The room was sufficient, albeit slightly cramped with 4 people. But realistically we were all just sleeping and storing our stuff there (lockers were a good size), so the size of the room worked well. There was a dark spot on the wall that I didn't investigate whether it was mold or just peeling paint or what, I didn't spend enough time in the room to care (it wasn't big enough to cause concern for the price I paid). Oh, there was AC in the room!! It was a little stuffy at first when we were all changing for bed and whatever, but the room was a great temperature overnight. Overall, I love the location of the hostel. The area immediately around the hostel isn't perfect, but definitely safe enough. Not the cleanest, but I would stay there again for a few nights if I needed to. It is about a 5 minute walk to Nanjing Road which has tons of cool stuff to see, and about a 15-20 minute walk (down Nanjing Road so it's a nice walk) to Huangpu River where you can look across at the awesome Shanghai cityscape. As I said, I would definitely stay here again.

The hostel's location is awesome. It's a few mins (less then 10?) from East Nanjing Road subway station, which is where East Nanjing Road Pedestrian Walkway is located. Just a few mins of walk from the station and you'll reach the famous Bund. Getting back to the hostelvs location, as soon as you exit East Nanjing Road station Exit 1, head towards Shanxi Road (山西南路) and start walking north until you reach Beijing East Road (北京东路) crossing two roads in the process. Before reaching Beijing East Road, you will see a huge building on your right at the corner. Go in there and head straight to the 6th floor. No need to tell the security where you're going, just walk past him and into the elevator. As soon as you get put of the 6th floor, you'll see the reception. Just hand them your voucher and passport and 100 CNY for deposit and you're good to go. I booked the 8 person male dormitory. It's a fairly big room with a big locker. The bed has privacy curtains on the bottom bunk but the top bunk has none, although there are some beds where the top bunk has curtains. There is no bathroom inside the room You have to go to a common shower area and toilet. They have around 8 stalls each for both shower and toilet. As for the sink area, the place where you comb your hair or brush youtr teeth, it's out in the open, which is kinda awkward and annoying. People pass by you while you brush your teeth, fix yoir hair, etc. They have a common area and a small bar near the reception. Haven't had the chance to socialize with other people or tried the food or drink they have there. There is a huge outdoor area where people can also gather and socialize. It's a nice addition if you want to meet new people. Overall, I like the place, it's near the shopping district and the Bund. The price is also really worth it.

Close to metro line 8, wi-fi is great and free, the street is full of restaurants (the one right acros the street from the hotel is amazing), and there is a bar on top of the hotel which is great if you only want to have a beer without having to order food, since bars are so rare in china. The room was clean but old, the cleaning lady was changing the towels every day. If you book this hotel you are in walking distance of almost all the shopping places as well as some of the attractions like The Bund, the shopping street or People's Square and Park.

I just used this as a resting stop on long (15 hour) layover, booked a dayroom 8-6pm but the staff let me stay until 8pm. Location not so sure what is good in Shanghai but it seemed to be close to shopping and restaurants, room was bigger than I had expected, clean and with two complimentary water bottles, TV, air con, just what I would need in a city, I could very well stay here if I return to Shanghai.

Our stay at Fish Inn Bund in December was an enjoyable one.Good location(the hotel is at the left corner the street leading to Nanpu Bridge-so watch out for the red neon lights saying Fish Inn on top of the building if you are taking the taxi)but might be tricky to find at first.The East Nanjing metro is only less than 10mins walk away. The staff is friendly,soft spoken,knowledgable and polite.We only booked 2 standard rooms for 3nights but they upgraded one of the rooms to a bigger deluxe room with a balcony free of charge!The hotel staff recommended some great and clean places for delicious but cheap dumplings and dinner that a tourist wouldn't know to go. Most of the sighseeing places are within walking distance. For instance, Nanjing lu(15mins), Yuyuan garden(25-30mins) and the Bund (20-30mins)Hotel is pretty clean and in good condition.Rooms has a nice oriental theme decorations but modern furnishings.Beds are comfortable and bathroom has a proper wall instead of those tinted glass walls.Overall,we enjoyed our stay and it was worth every penny we paid for.

Very Good location, good price, can walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Road, People Square Metro 500M, Nanjing East Metro 1KM. Many sight seeing nearby .Neat and clean rooms. Staff can speak English no problem. We stayed twice in this trip in 3 bed. It can accommodate 4 people if the hotel permits. Adjacent McDONALD, Opp. KFC, CHINA MOBILE, CHINA UNICOM MOBILE, Out from hotel left on Zhejiang Middle road number of vegetable fruit shops and small supermarket. Out from hotel take right and walk a few blocks you have CHINA BANK of Foreign Exchange. Walk on Zhejianga Middle load a few blocks you have NANJIN PEDASTRIAN STREET, can spend good time every evening and night time. HOP ON HOP OFF sight seeing bus on Zhejiang Middle road and Nanjing pedestrian cross. To reach from Pudong airport Take Line-2 metro (not MAGLEV) change to another train at Guanglan Station (Same platform other side) (1) If you can walk out at PEOPLES SQAURE (eEXIT-15) after coming out of exit take LEFT walk a little again LEFT After crossing ZHEZJIANG MIDDLE ROAD you can see the hotel to right side. internal 300M and on road about 300M crossing two roads. (2) If you can not walk, out at NANJING ROAD EAST METRO (EXIT-2) and take taxi on the road. About 1 KM (14RMB

A centrally located hotel. very near to Nanjing East Lu, people's square, people's square Metro Station on Line No.02 and the Bund. The ATM , laundry,Pharmacy, fruit shop, General Stores,Public transport, restaurants and all major attractions are nearby. The hotel is clean with nice clean rooms. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The staff is fluent in English. In brief, It is value for money. I will stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

I would highly recommend 24k International Hotel People's Square. This is simply because the hotel is accessible n walking distances to many great places. Besides there are a couple of convenience stores n fruit shops. And not to mention there is a hawker stall right in front of the hotel and surrounded it. For those who wanted to know how to walk to the hotel from people square subway is a walk in the park. Please aware there are many exits. For easiest way, Exit 11 n walk left n further down u'll see starbucks.Keep walking until u reach an intersection where u'll see a JW Marriott. Cross the street towards JW Mariott n walk to the left n u'll see a Central Plaza further. Keep walking Huangpu road n about 50m make a right n u'll see Weihai road signboard. Walk straight n on your left u shall see a board written 24k International Hotel People Square on your left. The board will tell u further how to go about it. The distance to Nanjing Lu is not far away either. Walk back to people square subway n take exit 5 u'll reach Nanjing Lu n along the street is all about shopping. And for all u know the next place u reach is The Bund, the most significant of Shanghai attraction. On another note, u can actually save cost by cutting on your transportation. So guys, you do the maths!

We had an enjoyable three nights at the Metropolo. The address given was Tibet Road but be aware that the hotel is situated on the main Xixang road. So much easier to find than we first thought. Good location with a tube station around the corner and Peoples Square and Nanjing Road within walking distance. The hotel has a little 'old Shanghai' about it with lovely decor in the public areas. The history of the building is evident and once inside it was a quiet haven. The room was comfortable and the shower spacious. Nice toiletries too (always a treat when on a longer holiday) the room smelt a little musty but it seemed to pass once the air con kicked in. We didn't try the breakfast so couldn't comment on the food. We would happily stay here again.

The 2 rooms we booked managed to get in 5 of us (2adults, 3 kids).The rooms we booked were quiet for good sleep. Check in and out was smooth,staffs were helpful and friendly.Everything seems good for us.Just outside the Inn,is famous NanJing Pedestrian street,got a lots of eateries,shopping malls,convenience, souvenirs stores.Walking distance to The Bund,People Square,subway etc.

the subway is nearby, many supermarkets nearby, many food shops around, and some small shops. It is also reaaallly reallly near to WenMiaoLu (anyways u just have to turn right fromthe hotel, and go straight, for like 5 minutes) it's a district that sells lots of anime stuffs & there's a confucius temple there too. Subway are convenient, as this hotel is on subway Line 8 & 10. many famous places are reachable in 2-5 stations only. you can reach the bund in 4 stations, people's square in 2, Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the place is really comfortable and nice. Toilets are also clean! P.s: oh & btw, there's this shop selling import stuffs (more like snacks & drinks), really cheap nearby, the name is Master, check it out! (go right after the hotel exit, go straight until the 4 intersection, & turn right, just keep going straight you'll see it on ur left hand side)

This is a contemporary modern design hotel. Clean and have a lot of feel-good factors. Location is perfect being 5 minutes walk to the 'Tashijie' metro station. A 24 hours mini mart is right next to it. The staff speaks English and ever so helpful. I arrived before the check in time and there was no problem. Booking was via Agoda and it took them 5 minutes to complete the process. Checking out was again about 5 minutes. The room is of good size (business king) with separate living/study area. Housekeeping ladies were very polite. It was cold for a few days when I was there and the centralised heating system worked well. Bath room was of generous size. Most importantly the room was well lit with a lot of light fittings. There is no breakfast at the hotel but there are a lot of 'very chinese' small restaurants around the hotel. Or try the more comtemporary food places such as Mcdonalds at the nearby 'Tashijie' metro station ( at exit 3/4). All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much.

a) about the hotel. the space of room is in standard limited best for 2 people. but there is free wi-fi at lobby. while in the room is free connect by a cable. starting by 5th-6th floors are the business office. and 7th is the lobby while start from 8th up to 16th are hotel rooms service. although a bit small room but fantastic in best location at the heart of all shopping malls. b) about the shopping. here is the best offer, since its ground floor is giodano shop, you can done it when outside got rainning. normally, from the front of hotel, you can walk along this long walking street, there are fully of shops and department stores,(whole nanjing street & nearby) until 10:00pm as their closing time. c) about the location. since its surroundings are all hotels and plenty of shops & malls in middle heart of people square, so first your shopping can be done easily for day & nightimes. second, yes it's very near to mrt station.. just only 1-2 minutes walk. third, you can went out by walking to either shanghai musuem or go to the most famous shopping market called as "yuyuan garden – shanghai city god temple (cheng huang miao of shanghai)... this area they offer all souvenirs for the tourists. only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. d) about the meal. this area is best for foreigners who prefer mc.donals, kfc, ajisen ramen, subway, etc. while others are plenty of local chinese foods & shop such as red pork, wan-tan & noodles. e) about travelling & fee. the cab from pudong airport to hotel & vise versa (it's taken approx 55 minutes to 1.15 hrs) will cost about rmb.160-190/trip. while mrt from people's square to shanghai exhibition hall in zhoujiadu (5 stations in blue track) this will cost only rmb.4.00 per a passenger ticket or can drop at next station is "yaohua road"

Please note that the address is No. 280 South Shanxi Road, People Square and South Bund Huangpu, Shanghai, China 200001 It is not on Nanjing Pedestrian Road. I took an hour to find the place. The nearest Metro is Nanjing Road East. Look for the Egg Tart shop at the start of Shanxi South Road. However Shanxi South Road has many local delicacies at reasonable price.

The hotel is located central right next to the Radison Blu Hotel in Peoples Square. You can take the metro from either airport to the hotel. Simply take line 2 to Peoples Square and get out through Exit 8. It will be on the right as you get outside. The stairs are the annoying part, but that is what bellhops are for. Rooms are a bit small but they are clean. Other travellers have mentioned their weird floors (having to take stairs up or down to get to other areas) and this is true.

I can't recommend the Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel highly enough. The staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping to the restaurant were all professional, polite and helpful. Three Metro lines are very close to the hotel, so you can get anywhere in the City easily and cheaply. The Bund, People Square, Nanjing Shopping Street and many other landmarks are within walking distance. The neighborhood is very safe and next to a lovely park for walking or just relaxing. There are also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores etc. very close by. The was my first time in Shanghai and I knew the general area I wanted to stay in. The Campanile checked a lot of boxes, but you never know until you actually check in and the hotel exceeded my expectations ... and the price is right. My room was not huge, but large enough and well appointed with nice amenities and house keeping kept it spick and span every day. I will stay here again on my next Shanghai visit. The daily breakfast was tasty.

This Campanile Hotel is a hidden treasure because it’s located within a commercial complex - you have to walk into an office complex to get to the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near the Natural History Musuem subway station (about a 5 to 8 mins walk). The room was clean and cozy. Water pressure in the shower was great! The bed was comfy. Staff at the hotel were welcoming. You can walk from the hotel to the Bund in about one hour. Along the way, you will see several old industrial buildings which serve as reminders of the area’s industrial past.

We came on Line2 from Pudong Airport - quite comfortable (with a quick train change at Guanglan) at the princely fare of USD1 per person. Taking the MagLev, I feel, is not better unless there's time pressure or if it's for the experience. Otherwise, the scramble for seats at Longyang is likely to require more agility and alertness. Get off at East Nanjing Stn Exit1, go right and walk for about 5 mins till u see 2 huge screen on the opp side. As u pass the 2nd screen, Zara which is not exactly prominent, will be about 20 steps to go. Check in on the 8th floor comes with limited English but this should be amply overcome with the electronic translator they used. Breakfast spread was very simple with no crisp bacon but is good enough to get your numberr 2 going and thence you may refill at the numerous eateries along Nanjing Road. Definitely good for a 3 night stay. Walkable to the bund, ppl's square and even Yuyuan Gdn. Clean, comfortable basic room. Great Lively location!

The Green Court hotel staff are very nice, helpful and speak good English. Breakfast is OK. The kitchen staff are very nice and helpful, also speak English. Great location, short walking distance to Nanjing Shopping mall and People Square. After lunch or dinner, if you need to burn some of the calories, it is a great walking distance to the Bund to see beautiful Shanghai view or nightlights. While in the Bund, you can get The room is clean, but it has a strong smell of cigarette, though it says "No Smoking." Both receptionists and maintenance also say the hotel is non-smoking when I bought it up.

The location is convenient is abt 10 mins walk to Metro Station and Shanghai Lao Jie Yu Garden.The price is value of money. If you able to walk , you also can walk to The Bund Riverside and Pearl Tower. At the same time u also can see more things instead of taking Metro to Pearl Tower..But around the hotel not much food around the area during night time. And the hotel is quite new.. The next time visit Shanghai will consider to check in this hotel again..Overall total I will give 4 star to this hotel..

Excellent location, right next to the Nanjing Road; short walking distance to the famous Bund. Plenty of shops nearby for food and souvenirs. 5 minutes walk (maybe 10 for those leisure walkers) to two subway stations on People Square and South Nanjing Road stations. Very friendly and efficient staff, quick check-in and out (we checked in at 7pm and checked out at 8am). Our room was quiet and clean (Shanghai is very humid, so the room had the wet humid smell, I wouldn't blame the hotel but the Shanghai weather; perhaps the cleaning staff could use some dry patches or smell absorber). Wifi was spotting, but the ethernet cable was wonderful. Plenty of TV channels (even HBO) Overall an excellent experience, definitely made our 4-day trip in Shanghai a lot more pleasant. Will stay again if we visit Shanghai again.

Shanghai has long been on my travel bucket list. The subway system is good, but you don't really want to take it much with so much going on above ground! The Line 2 subway is a good one to know, however, as it goes near the Bund, and also to the airport and train stations. Excellent. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCAM TAXIS AT THE SHANGHAI TRAIN STATION! They will want 200 yuan for what was a 15 minute trip! My rule is to never engage an idle taxi! Search for the Taxi Cue-- its underground and I had to wait for an hour, but the price for the legitimate taxi was 28 yuan, and we encountered little traffic even at 8:30 am. As for the Wu Gong itself, it was a great place to stay. It was only about a 10-minute walk to the not-to-be-missed Shanghai Museum and People's Park. Plan on at least three hours here. Ten minutes east was the center of the Bund, the place to be! If you are into photography, the Bund is better by night with all it's "make-up" lights on than during the daytime. Lots of people here. Very friendly and want to practice English with a little encouragement! And they will want a selfie with you! It is a beautiful place to be, especially on a summer night when all you want is even a little breeze. To the south, it is a very easy walk to the Old Town. Very interesting winding, tree-lined streets. See it fast though. The modern era is encroaching quickly. One old neighborhood is now surrounded by demolition and high rise apartments going up. So sad, really. These people's families have lived in these areas for centuries. Now where do they go? Also, if you want a "treat" at both ends of reality, try the Fangbang Street and the Yuan Tourist Area Bazaar (Bizzarre more like it)! Nearly 99% Chinese tourists and a kitchy area to shop. If you wondered where all the English-speaking Chinese are in Shanghai, they came here to open a shop! The Confucian temple is here as well, and it is easy to miss in the glitter. Look for it. I was lucky enough to catch a little of a ceremo

Our stay in the Langham in Shanghai was very enjoyable. The location is great for exploring and it is easy to walk to the Bund or take the subway from Peoples Square(Exit 14) all around the city. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The actual room was perfect, it was extremely comfortable and clean. The only slight negative was the breakfast was not as good as I was expecting, it was still delicious and again the staff were great -I was only a little disappointed because of how good everything else was. Highly recommended.

Quality, modern hotel with good facilities. It is located one street away from the East Nanjing Road, about 250 m from E Nanjing Road metro station and easy walking distance to popular sights such as the Bund, Peoples' Square and the Shanghai Museum. We had visited Shangahi before so I chose this hotel for it's location and was not disappointed. We had arrived at HongQiao airport late at nigh so stayed overnight near to the airport, then got the metro to E Nanjing Road station (about 30 min and inexpensive) and had an easy flat walk to the hotel despite bulky luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were happy to use the reasonable size indoor swimming pool. We were offered a reasonbly priced upgrade to a large comfortable room on the Executive Floor, which included a good buffet breakfast. The staff were helpful in organising a taxi to Pudong airport. I would stay here again if I need an hotel in central Shanghai.
