Unbeatable Price for Quality”

For the price, the quality of the stay you get is simply the best or next to it. I have been staying at various hotels around Beijing ranging from 3 to 4 star hotels on business trips. This stay at Qianmen Courtyard Hotel is personal and it is absolutely value for money. Fantastic location, good service, cleanliness is alright unless you are a princess. For single traveler, look no further. I will go to this hotel again on my next personal trip.

Great location with friendly staff”

location, staff

1. located in a small hutong near qianmen. location is really good. 15 mins walk to qianmen mrt station. 3 mins walk to qianmen shopping belt. many small restaurants and convenient stalls around the hutong just steps away.another side of hutong is busier meishi street with direct bus to temple of heaven(15 mins ride). 2.siheyuan style, if you look for this kind of experience, this is it. 3.staff are friendly and helpful. mr. wen from the night shift always greeted me and made sure we were ok with the room. when i asked for direction, day staff ms. jiang printed the map for me. 4. room was small. very clean. with free cabled internet connection. 24 hour hot water supply. water pressure was strong. only thing was the toilet was stingy sometimes. the u-trap didn't have enough water level to isolate the sewage system in my opinion. 5.during my last day, they helped to keep my luggage after i'd checked out around noon time. we collected them around 6pm. it was foc. i will go back there again if i travel beijing again.

Great location and clean room”

1) Great location - close to Tiananmen and Qianmen. 2) Clean room and tiolet 3) Pleasant staff

We have taken a Family room which comes with 2 king sized beds and a toilet. We like the courtyard area in the middle of the hotel. Guests can hang out in the area even during winter because it is covered and heater available to keep the area warm. Hotel location is very good. Very close to major attractions in Qianmen and walking distance to Tiananmen square. Many choices of restaurants within 500m from the hotel. One downside is the hotel staff smoking in the reception area during their night duty.

Great location, flies in toiletbowl”

location was great, minutes away from Zhushikou and Qianmen metro. Two halal restaurants by Qianmen Street. Walking distance to Tiannanmen Sq, Forbidden City and Jingshan Park. Recep was great, they try to help even if there was a language barrier but show a map in Mandarin and they can quickly point you to the right direction. Bathroom is fine although remember to close the toilet lid cuz the flies congregate there. Hot water may take a few minutes.

its quite convenient to have a short stay”

Its worth for the money. Good location and two MTR stations nearby, the one Qian men and the other Zhu shi kou, if you know how to get to the place. Its my second time of staying. The Qianmen line will shorten my time to arrive from or depart for the airport. So I think its a good choice for me to make. The heating and air conditioner provide much more than enough heat and warmth to the room, which I care most in Winter time. However, they have also a lot to improve, such as the cleanliness of the bathroom/ toilet.

Cute place”

Location, atmosphere, good AC

Good place to stay overall, but a few things to consider. The single rooms surround the main courtyards and can be noisy for afternoon naps, or even at night. One of our group stayed in one and couldnt nap, and couldn't go to bed before eleven because there were hollering kids playing in the courtyard, and one night a yelling fist fight broke out at four AM to wake him up between two guests. The single rooms also have a lot harder beds than the double rooms... So pay the extra and go for the double.

Traditional chinese hotel in Beijing ”

As expected by the previous reviews, we found the hotel difficult to find as our taxi driver could not locate it even after passing from the front of the hotel. A bit difficult to locate but hotel is fine and check in was very fast. Rooms are old fashioned and well maintained beds and heater provided in the room. Only problem is hot water which is not available inspite of the facility available. Staff suggested to keep the tap open for some time to wait for hot water as it has to flow around 30 yards from the source to the taps in the room. It never came even after opening the taps for few hours also. It was a traditional Chinese type hotel. Good for a single night stay when you have to just wait for your next flight and most of the time doing sight seeing in Beijing.

Tourist”

Due to flight cancellations we had to do some rescheduling so I called and let the hotel know that instead of 2 pm we will be checking in at 7 am the following day. I was told that we have to pay for the missed night and I said I expected that and it's fine and the reason I call is to make sure that the rest of the booking is not canceled and we get to check in as soon as we arrive. When we arrived though the reception staff told us that the room is not yet cleaned but we can go ahead and put our bags while the room is being cleaned. I told her about the phone call that I made about our flight cancellation and check in time change and insisted that since we paid for the previous night's room, that room should still be clean and we should be able to check into a clean room. The reception staff rudely cut me off and put us in the back most room, hidden and out of sight with nothing but the view of somebody else's laundered underwear blowing in the breeze.

This is a rather special hotel. Feels like walking into an old Chinese merchant home - which it probably is. The downside is the small rooms and the smell! The toilet smelled pee and the entire hotel has a strange smell. The staff does not speak English but they are very helpful and try their best. So to chose this hotel or not is a matter of taste.
