Find hotels near Qianmen & Temple of Heaven in Beijing, China

As the first stop on our month-long trip in China, we chose this comfortable hotel, a little higher in the luxury scale that we usually go for. We needed to acclimatize ourselves. It's not very near the tourist sights: about a half-hour walk from the wonderful Temple of Heaven. But it was only a ten-minute walk to the subway, past some nice little restaurants, and taxis are readily available. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was the best we had in the whole month. And the staff was friendly and professional.

Really great value for money. Friendly young staff team. Pretty courtyard hotel in old Beijing alleyway for a taste of everyday city life. Beds nice and hard. We had a wet room with shower, loo and basin. Really enjoyed our stay. Within walking distance of shops, Qianmen, Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven etc. They organise tours to Great Wall too. Not a luxury hotel but offered everything we needed for a fantastic stay at a brilliant price.

The reasons for having favourable remarks for this hotel are 1) hotel is only 3 years' old. All facilities are new and clean. 2) staff speaks English and they are polite and professional. Even the bell boys are nice. 3) their bathroom has both the bathtub and standing shower, very important for my mum who is unable to use the Bathtub 4) water heater provides excellent heated water and aircon can adjust to very cold even though it is Autumn (which is good) 5) TV Programmes are boring though. Lots of Chinese channels. Do not have good movie titles at all. 6) the location is conveniently located near Wangfujing street, The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, The Temple of Heaven. Shopping Malls are within walking distance too. 7) only setback is

1. located in a small hutong near qianmen. location is really good. 15 mins walk to qianmen mrt station. 3 mins walk to qianmen shopping belt. many small restaurants and convenient stalls around the hutong just steps away.another side of hutong is busier meishi street with direct bus to temple of heaven(15 mins ride). 2.siheyuan style, if you look for this kind of experience, this is it. 3.staff are friendly and helpful. mr. wen from the night shift always greeted me and made sure we were ok with the room. when i asked for direction, day staff ms. jiang printed the map for me. 4. room was small. very clean. with free cabled internet connection. 24 hour hot water supply. water pressure was strong. only thing was the toilet was stingy sometimes. the u-trap didn't have enough water level to isolate the sewage system in my opinion. 5.during my last day, they helped to keep my luggage after i'd checked out around noon time. we collected them around 6pm. it was foc. i will go back there again if i travel beijing again.

10 mins walk to Temple of Heaven. 30 mins walk to metro Ciqhou? 50 mins walk to Wangfujing. Although a lot of busses,streetcycles,taxi's and Chinese bikes around the corner. Room was big enough for one person. Did not even looked like the pictures. Dirty carpet,a lot of stains on the floor,ceiling, walls,chair. Bathroom and toilet not seperated without anything. So everytime you get a shower,the whole bathroom was wet include the toiletseat. No refrigerator. Bed was to hard for a good nightrest. Didn't got breakfast. Staff were quick with check in and out. A little bit English. Good enough to understand each other.

Male sure you print the chinese character of the hotel name and street to give to taxi driver, and also the hotel phone number is +8610 67107000/ 7060.The hotel is next to traditional market, you can buy fruits and mineral water. There are restaurants nearby, turn right when you go out from the hotel. Also the bus station is near, you can take bus 60 to go to Temple of heaven or if you want to go to Tiananmen take the bus 8 from the side of long tan park (there is a park near the hotel, turn left). You can ask the hotel staff the bus route or subway , don't forget to ask their help to write down in Chinese character beside the roman. The staff is nice although they speak little English. And the hotel located in main street not in alley, and you can walk nearby the hotel without feeling worried. The negative point is only for the mattress it is too hard, we ask the staff help to give additional blanket so we can put.as additional mattress. But overall our stay in this hotel is enjoyable and feel safe. We recommend this hotel to our friends when they visit Beijing.

be careful which hotel you book. there is a holiday inn express beijing temple of heaven and a holiday inn temple of heaven beijing. they both have the same room rate. the holiday inn express is a little out of the way, about a 20 minute walk to the temple of heaven. we felt safe walking in the area at night, and there is a great restaraunt, peking duck, just around the corner. unfortunately, the rooms have no refrigerators, and the air conditioning was having a hard time keeping with with the heat.

We booked 3 rooms; comfortable beds, toilet necessities provided (better to bring own). Clean linen everyday only if you put the tag. Only one room with clogged toilet bowl but plumber came to fix it right after we notify the receptionist. Drinking water can be bought at the mart nearby - cheaper. Communicate with staff in Chinese is better. Located near Qiaowan Exit A. Little hard to find at first as there's a construction blocking the hotel sign. There are 3 restaurants nearby but we only liked the one next to the mart, by the corner - menu in Chinese too. Quiet area, not happening (night life) as most tourists/foreigners prefer to stay at Wangfujing area - as mentioned by our airport driver. We took the subway to Temple of Heaven (Tiantandongmen) & Forbidden City (Qianmen) - just a few exchanged station, not sure if can reach by walking.

After a long check in process we got our rooms. Both were a nice comfortable size room with nice bothroom. Hotel provides good amenities. It was my birthday during my stay at the Courtyard Marriott and they delivered a surprise cake for me. A nice touch from the hotel. The location was excellent. Close to the metro station and Tiananmen square and Temple of Heaven is only a walking distance. A great hotel to stay at and value for money for sure.

Location is the best thing about this place. Just go wandering around the hutongs. Beds are hard and too short (I am 184 cm tall). Don't rent their bikes, as these are overpriced (50 RMB/day) and not in the best condition. For bike rent go to Nr. 76 West Dazhalan Street and get one for 20 RMB. Staff friendly, but sometimes slow. Housekeeping knocked at our door at midnight once asking if we want her to mop our floor. Unless you're on a really tight budget, opt for a larger (Standard) room upstairs instead of the budget ones on the ground floor, as these seemed a little depressing.
