“ENJOY HOLIDAY TRIP(3D2N)”
Overall, my holiday with my friends was very good and truly enjoyable. I would like to sincerely thank Syida (Activity Department) along with her two colleagues. From the beginning until the end, Syida was very helpful in arranging our 2-way ferry tickets (Merang–Redang), snorkeling activities, 2-way boat transfer to Laguna, motorbike rental, and pickup from Redang Jetty to the resort. Their service was very prompt and customer-friendly. I also wish to thank the two young ladies whose names I unfortunately forgot – my apologies – but I truly appreciate your warm hospitality. That being said, there are several points I would like to highlight: 1. Room cleanliness (469 & 471) – The toilets were dirty, with black stains around the wall edges (likely old silicone that should have been scraped and cleaned). There were also long hair strands scattered in the toilet, which I had to clean myself. 2. Balcony – The balcony had a lot of lizard droppings, which seemed like it had not been cleaned for almost a month. Moreover, the balcony door had no lock, raising safety concerns for guests inside the room. 3. Breakfast service (Day 1) – We were served by a waitress who was unfriendly, with no smile and little willingness to help. When we asked her to show us how to use the coffee machines (since there were two), she simply said: “One machine is broken, you can only use the other one.” However, I noticed a foreign guest later still managed to use the machine that was supposedly broken, which shows the staff may not have known how to operate it. 4. Buffet line – I noticed some rusty areas that need to be checked and repaired. 5. Dinner experience (Day 1) – We ordered 1 Nasi Dagang, 1 Chicken Chop, and 2 Special Fried Rice. • Special Fried Rice – Tasty and satisfying. • Chicken Chop – Disappointing. The mashed potatoes were hard and cold, the vegetables were tough, and the black pepper sauce was too spicy. • Nasi Dagang – Very disappointing. The rice was hard, with a stale coconut milk smell, and the pickled cucumber was overly sour. However, I must say the fish curry was delicious. I am being direct because I myself work as an Assistant Housekeeper, and I take cleanliness and service quality very seriously. I hope the resort management will pay attention to these issues, particularly in terms of SOP compliance, staff training, equipment handling, warm hospitality, and customer service. Nevertheless, I must say that overall I was still very happy and satisfied with my holiday at Redang Island Resort.
